Kohl's double billed

I made a purchase of 239.00 11 days ago at kolh's in Chicago. While I was checking out the Associate told me that there was a 20% coupon on email, if i recieved them. I do and came home and printed it out. I went back to the store to customer service and that associate said she would return the original items and re-ring the purchases. She did, and the amount was 135.01 ( in this I also returned a couple of items ). I have been charged on my debit card 239.00 AND 135.01...SO HAVE BEEN CHARGED TWICE. I have been to the store 6 times and have talked to 11 people at Corporate, including Managers. I have been told a Manager would call me back, NO CALLS. I have been given Managers at Corporate numbers and have called and have left message after message. A couple of times I have been told it is my bank that is causing the problem. I have called my banks several times and they tell me they can not credit my account until Kohl's notifies them to do so. I have been totally put on a WILD GOOSE CHASE with some of the peole both at the store and Corporate being rude. They tell me they can see that I should be refunded the 239.00, BUT NOBODY SEEEMS TO BE ABLE TO REFUND MY MONEY. I have never been treated like this and the store tells me to contact Corporate and Corporate tells me to contact the store... THIS IS RIDICULAS and Somehow would love to get my money back.

Stealth is correct. Also, refunds often take a lot longer to appear than charges. Your card issuer (visa, mastercard, etc.) usually dictates how long it will take. Be patient.

Kohl's paid cash refunded cash and gift card

Is this refund transaction within Kohls' Policies for refunds and good Cutomer Service:

Shopped at Kohls and find items totalling Price w/ tax: $ 72.00
Used a $10.00 Kolhs Discount Card. $ 72.00 - $10.00 = $62.00 Balance Owed
Paid in CASH = $62.00
Returned items within 5 days WITH Receipt
Customer Service Representative Gave $52.00 and a Kohls Gift card for $10.00.
I explained that in paid $62.00 in CASH (After the Kohls Discount Card was deducted from the $ 72.00 balance) and would like $62.00 in CASH refunded.
HOHLS CSR stated that I did not understand; since I used a Kohls Gift Card I must get a Kohls Gift Card for the same amount.
After debating this point, the KOHLS CSR repeatedly said that this is what her computer showed and "the computer does not lie."
After speaking with 2 CSRs I tried to find some Christmas gifts within Kohls to use the card.
I did not find anything within the Kohls store that I wanted to purchase and now wish to take my business and money elsewhere. Unfortunately, my buying power is now limited to $52.00 because KOHLS has retained $10.00 of my CASH money.

Um, see...Kohl's didn't do anything wrong there. They wanted to give you the money back the same way you paid for it. If you had paid cash, they would have given you cash. But you didn't. You used their card. So they wanted to credit your card. That's not their fault. That's yours.

KOHLS HORRIBLE AT GIVING YOU YOUR MONEY BACK THEY GOT THIERS WHY CANT I GET MINE!
I CHARGED $112.76 THIS WAY I COULD GET THE DISCOUNTS BY USING MY CHARGE THEN I WROTE A CHECK FOR THE SAME AMOUNT AND PAID THE CHANGE OFF RIGHT THEN AND THERE. AFTER CHRISTMAS I WENT TO RETURN THE SHAVER I BOUGHT FOR MY DAD HE DID NOT WANT ANYTHING AT KOHLS SO I WANTED MY MONEY BACK SO HE COULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SHOP... THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY CASH BACK WHEN I RETURNED THE ITEM AT THE STORE, THEY WANTED TO CREDIT MY CREDIT CARD, I SHOWED THEM THE RECEIPT WHERE THE CREDIT CARD AMOUNT HAD ALREADY BE PAID, THEN THEY WANTED TO GIVE ME A STORE CREDIT WHICH I EXPLAINED I DID NOT WANT TO BUY ANTHING AT THIS STORE. SO THEY SAID I COULD GET A CORPORATE REFUND WHICH TAKES AT LEAST 7 TO 10 DAYS SO THEY SAY... THIS IS JUST BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE IV WORKED IN RETAIL FOR THE LAST 24 YRS ... THEY GOT ALL THIER MONEY NOW THEY NEED TO GIVE ME MINE BACK WHEN I RETURN THE ITEM CASH BACK IT THE WAY TO GO. I WILL NEVER BUY A GIFT FOR SOMEONE THERE AGAIN CAUSE ALL THEY ARE DOING IS MAKING YOU SHOP AT THEIR STORE, WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEND MONEY WHEN WE RETURN SOMETHING WITH RECIEPT WHERE WE WANT AND GET OUR CASH BACK AS FAST AS I PAID THEM THEIR MONEY... I GUESS I WILL BE KEEPING WALMART IN BUSINESS SINCE THEY GIVE YOU CASH BACK!

Aidan mentioned about the Kohl's cash, if you used $10 Kohl's cash, you can also get it back as a merchandise card, they should return you $62 cash +$10 merchandise card back, if you still have your original reciept, i think you could try to call their customer service or talk to the store manager. I agree with you, kohl's has the nasty service.

I don't understand why you only get $52 cash back and $10 gift card. Every time when you do the return, even you used the gift card, they still should return you the $10 gift card. They should return you $62 cash which is you paid, plus a $10 gift card you used. You should get both back. I can always get it back.

Did you make your purchase at a time when we were giving out 'Kohl's cash'?

It was also a ten dollar coupon, and you earned one for every fifty dollars you spent. That might be what she'he was talking about.

Kohl's didn't receive order or refund

I placed an order for Christmas Gifts from Kohl.com. I still hadn't received my order 2 weeks later so I logged onto my account and tracked the order. It said that UPS delivered the order to my back porch on November 21. I called Kohl.com to inquire on how they would like to resolve this issue and they basicly said it is not their problem. It is UPS problem so all they could do is issue me a new order and charge me for it so duplicating the charge and they would put out a tracer on the original order. They told me that if I got the first order I could bring it back and that is how I would be getting my refund. I am just livid. This is horrible customer service. It is for 6 very small items that their loss department could absorb to make me happy. I will never see that order. Of course did not place the second order and I will never step foot into a Kohls Department store or order from their .com again. I feel that it is their problem because I purchased goods from them in good faith that I would receive that order. They contracted out to UPS to deliver those goods and until I as the customer receive them then bottom line is it is their responsibility to either issue me a refund or replace those goods.

Kohl's bad shipping

My wife ordered 3 items and put my sons dorm address as the ship to. After she sent the order within 10 minutes she tried to call them but were closed for Thanksgiving. She then sent 5 emails telling them to cancel that shipment, or send it to our home address. This was all done in under 1 hr. She called them on Friday, Sat, and Monday and didn't get any where with supervisors etc. I call today and talked to Brian Miller (Senior V.P.) and tried to explain what had happened, he saids he would forward it on the the person at corp. that handles that. Neeed to say I never received a call back. I thought that Kohl's was a reputable company, but I guess I was wrong.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't there a way to track the shipment of your orders? You should have a way to cancel the order from the webpage...I mean, it's likely shipped by now, but in the future, try that first?

Besides, she should be more careful and only order if she's sure she wants the items. That's not the computer's fault, or Kohl's.

so...she is well enough to shop BUT not well enough to stand in line?! WTF. I am soooooo sick of 'entitled' people. If she can shop, she can wait. Kohl’s did this right. In fact this makes me WANT to go to Kohl’s cause they don’t give in to the self absorbedthat think they are better than everyone else. And seriously...you capitalized EVERY FREAKING WORD. Do out know How Hard That Is To Read? Cut that *hit out! BASICALLY IF YOUR WIFE IS WELL ENOUGH TO SHOP THEN SHE IS WELL ENOUGH TO STAND IN LINE. AND IF SHE ISNT SHE SHOULDNT BE SHOPPING.

So my friend and I, for the first time ever, decided to shoplift from Kohls. What did we take?? Two shirts, full price value, hers were $36 and mine were $42. Both under $50. They ran after us from the store, we walked out of the store with the things we had taken, and a man ran up to us and stopped us before we reached my car. He said, show me what's in...

Kohl's cut my hours because I didn't open credit

I'm hired as a seasonal floor associate in the men's department this holiday season. My primary job is to make sure the fitting rooms are neat and that all unwanted merchandise is returned to it's proper place. If it gets really busy I'll get asked to hop onto a register for a few minutes. Kohl's really pressures employees to get customers to open up credit so "she" can discounts to make "her" happy. (Khol's always uses female pronouns. As one of the few men that work there, it's pretty annoying.) I don't use the register that much and when I do, 99% of the customers already have a Kohl's charge. I just got my schedule for this week and I only work 2 days totaling about 15 hours. I asked a manager why I wasn't getting a lot of hours for the month and she flat out told me it's because I haven't made a customer open a Kohl's charge yet. I tried to explain the situation and she just told me to try harder. I don't know they expect a floor associate to open up charges, especially when they're not working that much.

I agree with you kullik on the reduced hours and credit. I am a fellow Kohl's associate too and I am having similar issues. Yes, they do expect employees to get credit every day and it is definitely easier said than done to meet the quotas they give you, unless if you are working as a cashier on the busiest registers (then you can ask alot more people about credit). Achieving goals can definitely betricky though in many ways. For example giving the challenging economy, the vast majority of shoppers either already have a kohls charge or they simply refuse, and it is hard to get them to change their minds too unless if you are the aggressive salesman type (which I too am not). Definitely tougher to do when working the sales floor instead of the cash registers (especially during the slower hours) since you have less people to talk to and the best time to solicit credit is by responding to back up calls (which can be hit and miss). By the way, you should be lucky you have 15 hours a week. I am only averaging 3-4 hours per week myself and am definitely looking for a new job as a result.

When you were hired, the job was explained to you. You knew what the expectations were. Yeah, it sucks that you aren't getting hours...but you can fix that.

Go ask around. Talk to the cashiers that consistently open credits, ask them about their approaches. Maybe you're not phrasing it right.

Bottom line? If you're unhappy with the expectations of your employer, seek employment elsewhere. You knew what you were signing on for.

It's a common complaint at tacky workplaces. That's why, for instance, I don't even shop at Kohls, or Radio Shack (except in extreme circumstances when they're the only place that carries something I need), or Burlington Coat Factory, and the list goes on.

I do not make a great salary. My partner and I together do pretty OK, but we do our main shopping at places that do charge more, BUT in return we are not hassled to do anything, we're actually HELPED! (how's that for a business in America these days?), the quality of what we buy ensures its longevity, thus costing us less in the end, and we never have any problems taking anything back.

We like Publix, Costco, Home Depot, Dillards (the closest thing we have to a Nordstrums here in my neck of Alabama), AND I might add, most locally owned "mom and pop" type stores.

I hope that you find a great job elsewhere! I agree you're being treated unfairly. Good luck to you in finding a good vocational fit this season and beyond. :)

That's a common complaint at a lot of work places. Radio Shack, for one, expects its employees to sell people on cell phones and cell phone service plans. Because... yeah... when people think cell phones... they think Radio Shack.

It's a bizarre and twisted policy to expect employees to up-sell people to stuff they don't want. But it's not illegal, nor particularly immoral.

But very... very annoying. For the employee AND the customer. (the manager, meanwhile, traipses around and belittles entry level employees for not acting like car salesmen...)

Sorry for your problem, but there's nothing you can do about it. Also, if your employer finds out you've been bad-mouthing their business online, expect to get reduced to ZERO hours. Just sayin'. Be VERY careful. You probably signed an agreement NOT to do exactly what you just did when you were hired. I hope there's a LOT of Kohls stores in your area.

And I'd recommend you delete this, as no good will come of it...

Even though I COMPLETELY agree.

Kohl's deceptive advertising

Kohl's is very deceptive in their ads. We received an ad stating, "Kohl's 50% Off Sale plus Shoppers 60+ take an extra 15% off of everything." In fine print at the bottom it states "No merchandise exclusions." We went to the Plano, TX location this evening, and at the checkout we presented the ad and only received 15% off. We went to Customer Service to dispute this and were told that there were only certain items that were 50% off. A supervisor even agreed that it was misleading. We called corporate to cancel both our cards and spoke with Phillip, who very rudely asked, "So you want to cancel your cards because the ad doesn't state everything in the store is 50% off?" They just don't get it. There are many stores that would love to take our money - without misleading their customers.

Are you for real? Who (well you apparently) would look at that and expect the entire store to be half off? Just from what you read I knew that there would be select items listed for half off and that your senior discount is 15% and THAT is what they are referring to when they say "no exclusions". Come on people...stop blaming companies for your own mistakes. I probably would have said the same thing as Phillip as the idea of blaming the store and therefore closing your accounts seems ludicrious.

What part of that ad was confusing?

I would assume that anyone would realize that not everything in the store would be 50% off...It's just that a lot of stuff was, so we called it a 50% off sale...

Kohl's &delinquent& account

Kohls had sent me to collections and notified the credit bureau that I was delinquent because I forgot to make my paymemt 2 months in a row (a grand total of $10). I'd forgotten that I had a balance at all which is why I hadn't made my payment. I apparently get my statement via email and did see a bill from Kohls. I also did not receive a call or letter to notify me that my payment was late and that I was being sent to collections. Now I have a record on my record report saying I was delinquent and Kohls refuses to remove the record. I'm sending a letter to their credit department tomorrow in hopes that they have the power and authority to remove this. I'm an extremely unhappy customer.

I was not aware I owed them anything and I've paid all of my bills on time prior to that and since then. Who sends someone to collections for $10? Kohls. Who doesn't notify a loyal and, up until now, happy customer that their payment was late? Kohls.

Kohl's coupons

I shop at Kohls on a regular basis and tonight I experienced one of the worst customer service experiences ever. My children are paid an allowance and with this allowance they choose to shop at Kohls. They each had their own money and a coupon. The sales lady completed two separate transactions of which they both handed her a coupon. When she gets to me, she says they can only take one coupon per household. I asked for the manager, who at first had no knowledge of the coupon. Then he all of a sudden says this is "per household" and I said where does it say that in writing or where does it say that on the coupon. The manager says he got this info from corporate. He ended up still letting me use the coupon but I was annoyed because 1 that "per household" (coupon said per customer per household), should have been on the coupon and 2 I saw customers next to me using 3 or 4 coupons. This manager was so rude and even said people work in hotels and take coupons. I said sir I don't work in a hotel. I then asked for the district manager and the corporate office. When I spoke to the customer complaint line, they said they have never heard of anything like that. They said the regional manager will be contacting me, but we will see. I don't have a problem with company policy, but I do have an issue when I am made to feel embarrased. Especially if the information is not printed on the coupon!

Yes I do have a comment. In these tough times I've had to resort to using coupons. I make sure I use the coupons correctly and "pay by the rules". I have looked everywhere on the Kohls web page for "policies and procedures" for redeeming coupons without luck. It would make it much easier for the customers, as well as for the Kohls employees, if there was access to a written policy for everyone.

Was your coupon a five dollar off e-mail coupon? Because, actually, it does say on the coupon that it is one per household.

As do the '10 dollar gift' cards they send in the mail. Now, those were recently amended to say 'one per transaction', rather than 'one per household'...

But all the same, the reason behind that is that there are a lot of customers who abuse the coupons.

And the cashier probably didn't say anything to your children because they were uncomfortable confronting the kids about it. I know that I would have been.

Kohl's customers at kohl's

I will start off by saying that i have worked at kohl's for over a year now. It sucks. I hate be pressured into soliciting kohl's charge cards, so i don't do it. When i am working at the register, i just want to get the whiny ### customer with the bratty kids out the door as fast as possible.

My biggest complaint, however, are the fitting rooms. I'm talkin' about the misses and juniors fitting rooms. About 99% of the women and teen girls who try on clothing at kohl's are slobs! Pick up after yourselves! It is not hard to put clothes on hangers. We associates are not there to pick up after you! After trying on the clothes, you sloppy females are supposed to put them back on the hangers and bring them out to the fitting room bar. Then, our job is to take the clothes from the bar and put them away. The customers are the worse part of kohl's.

Spazzomatic, on most points that you've posted, I agree with you. But just so you know? This job has taught me a lot of things. Like how to pick up after myself, and what exactly is annoying in a customer. It's more a training ground than a job that one should get bent out of shape for. In the end, a job is a job. If you don't like what you're doing, then you need to move on and find something better. I'm not saying that I'm better than anyone else, I'm not saying I don't complain. What I'm saying is that a lot of these complaints are not justified. The terms of employment were laid out in front of you when you were hired...you didn't have to join the force, and you don't have to continue to be employed there...but until the time you leave, you follow the guidelines laid out in front of you. You don't get to complain about that, because you have the power to get out of that situation.

spazzomatic: I worked a minimum wage job as a cashier in a grocery store for three years (and several more years in another retail job to put myself through school) and was treated poorly by customers and management. It's part of the job. Some things are okay and some aren't. The poster wasn't being treated in a way that was disrespectful or immoral or even difficult. Maybe if the poster had been complaining about something that was actually legitimate then people may have felt sorry for him/her, but instead he was complaining about the job he gets paid to do.

If I worked at Burger King and made a complaint about harassment by management or verbal abuse from a customer, then I would be justified. If I worked at Burger King and complained about flipping burgers being boring then I am not justified in my complaint. Everyone has to start with the grunt work.

EW EW EW. I work at Kohl's and you people are absolutely too harsh on this person. This IS a board for complaining, right? If this person wants to complain about their job, who are you to tell them to start, 1st amendment rights, blah, blah. Need I say more? Yes. I know why you say "Suck it up." You are one of those people, "AIDAN", who goes shopping and gets aggravated that they have to respect people who work there. EVERYONE IS A HUMAN BEING, YOU HAVE A JOB ALSO! Do you not also complain about the people you encounter? Wouldn't you agree that some people are worse than others? I work at Kohl's and have met some of the most interesting and enjoyable people while working, and some people I would gladly gO TO PRISON for assaulting, lol. It just depends on the person you are dealing with, if more people understood that respect makes or breaks an interaction, more people would be kind to each other. But trust me, retail sucks. NO ONE sits in the rooms and says, "You'll be making $8.00/hour and have to bend over and be a credit [censored], we'll see if we can honor a whole half hour lunch break, and then you have to deal with people who live below the poverty line, only come because of 60% off sales, and will demand everything that ain't nailed down for free because YOU have a name tag on." No one says that. Show some compassion for others, "pobarjenkins" and "dawniette." Seems like you all went to college? SOME PEOPLE CAN'T GET A BETTER JOB! What about the illiterate, immigrants and people IN college? In this economy, they'd be lucky to get a job cleaning windows with newspaper on the side of the road. JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE A JOB DOES NOT MEAN WE MUST DEAL WITH DISRESPECT!1 NO ONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DIFFICULT SOCIAL INTERACTIONS, WE'RE JUST SAYING PEOPLE COULD BE NICER TO ONE ANOTHER WHEN THEY ARE EXPERIENCING CUSTOMER SERVICE. JUST THINK ABOUT IF THE ECONOMY BUTT F*&KED YOU AND YOU HAD TO FOLLOW PEOPLE AROUND WITH CREDIT APPLICATIONS OR YOUR HOURS WILL BE CUT BECAUSE GEORGIE IS A BIGGER CREDIT [censored] THAN YOU. Don't like complaints, guys, get off this site, its not for you! Clearly...

True, some days it's harder to remember that than others...but all the same? Suck it up, or move on to another job. The terms were explained when you were hired on.

True, customers can be very inconsiderate. My daughter used to work in a store, and mentioned some of the nasty things that customers would do. When you shop and end up knocking something off the shelf or rack, it's not hard to pick it up. Try on the clothes and put them back on hangars - it won't take much time. Treat the merchandise and others, including store workers, with respect.

After wearing a pair of Croft & Barrow shoes 1 time, they started falling apart. The sides of the shoes have come completely up from the shoe. I've tried super gluing them, and they still won't stay together. I will never buy another pair of Croft & Barrow shoes again. They are the most horrible shoes I have ever purchased.

I have been a frequent shopper at Kohl's since it opened near my home, and up until the last few years I have never had any problems. However, my last shopping experiences have been unpleasant, to say the least. I had a few questions regarding some policies and when any new merchandise shipments may be arriving. I was abl to find an employee right away, and...

Kohl's they got a lack of diplomacy

I shop almost exclusively at Kohls. Every now and then, I receive "Kohls Cash at checkout, usually a $10 coupon you can use w/future purchase. It's definitely a draw to pull you back in.On 3/24/10, I gave it to the cashier w/my credit card toward the purchase. She flatly denied it saying it had expired. It was from February. I asked if I could still use it; she called the manager on the phone who blatantly said NO. Didn't even come out of the office to say it diplomatically. I like Kohls and spend alot of money there. If they're compensating customers with "cash, " why put an expiration date on it.We'll come back; why do we have to come back within a certain amount of time. For a store that recently opened up (in Tustin), they lack diplomacy. I may go back to Penny's. Thank You for reading this.

There is an expiration date boldly printed on the front of the Kohls Cash! Use it when you are supposed to use and don't complain about free coupons!

For all the fancy labeling they give it, it is still a coupon. It expires like everything else we give out. And it is corporate's policy to make them expire.

They seem like a new store, though, so perhaps their team hasn't been as well versed in our 'Yes We Can' philosophy. I'd try going to another Kohl's, and explaining what's happened. I mean, it's certainly been a long time now, and I don't really understand why you waited four months to complain...

But they certainly should have honored your coupon. Next time you've got an issue with the store, or the store's management, just go over their heads...contact the customer service or corporate office directly...you can find all the information you'll need on their website. And I'll be the first to tell you...everything you say to them trickles down to us on the store level. We'll make it right...

Kohl's payment mix up

I went to Kohls and made my charge card payment on May 1st, 2010. I didn't realize that somehow my check number had been read incorrectly. since they turn everything into ACH, this led to the check being taken out of my account twice. i have faxed them copies of my account records, the check involved. it STILL has not been corrected. just got another email from them this morning, saying it could take up to another 60 days. so i am, and have been out $100, plus interest until they decide to take care of it. So don't expect great things from kohls.

Kohl's stay far away from them

I went to Kohl's last week to return an item, on the way out I noticed some boys t-shirts folded up on a rack in the middle of the isle. On one side was girls t-shirts. The sale sign said t-shirts $5.00. At the register the shirt rang up at $11.90 or something. So I told the gal about the sale sign and she said, no these shirts are never that price. So I left without the shirt. This has happened to me several times at Kohl's. After Christmas markdowns, was trying to figure out sales price, asked a clerk, she said they were out of the sales items that were listed on the sign. But there were a ton of items located on the shelves with the sign.

I don't know if it is a sales tactic, they figuring you will go ahead and buy. It's a bit annoying.

Ok "katsworld", lemme ask you this. An item comes in, costs $50.00, says so on the tag. So it was 'originally' priced for $50.00. So this is an original price, not a sale price, which would refer to the price after a sale % is reduced. That is where many people become confused. If you say you worked in Kohl's (I have worked there almost 5 years now... I know :{ ), then you should understand the difference between the two, so you have little excuse for agreeing with the complaint publisher. A 50% off discount IS and ALWAYS WILL BE, NO MATTER WHAT STORE YOU GO TO (supermarkets, hardware stores, etc.), taken off this original price. So she went in and thought at the register, each and every customer would receive 50% OFF THEIR FINAL PURCHASE? OFF THE GRAND TOTAL? After what discount is taken off? You mean to tell me seeing 50% off leads you to believe you will get half off the original price, plus half off what your grand total is... why would they offer you double discounts? Thats stupid, right? I think its stupid, not thinking that you would GET two times 50% off, but just believing that a store would do that... and you probably didn't even open a credit card 'bessame', so they will not give you ANYTHING BESIDE THE 15% THEY WERE SO KIND TO OFFER YOU. Sweety, I've gone into stores that offer you NOTHING, and hear no one complain at the checkout. You just have to be a smart shopper, and further grasp the command of the english language, for wording and inference is EVERYTHING IN RETAIL!

It's a sales tactic, believe me. And those 50% off the " original" price sales are a scam.. Nothing in their store is ever sold at that "original" price. They go on the rack and shelf with the "sale" price. The Sale price IS the original price..Not sure if that's legal but I worked there and that's how it's done.

Kohl's voided a transaction due to their mistake

I purchased merchandise from the Kohls store for $200.04 and wanted to use my debit card to pay for. The system in the store was incorrect and only allowed a credit transaction even though my card is a debit card. Kohls does except Debit Cards. The manager comes up and voids the original transaction and says try it again. Again it only comes up with the option of credit. I said just leave it alone do not run it against my account again. The manager says don't worry on a void that is our fault it will be credited to your account within 24 hours. On June 9th when I had not received credit I contacted Paul the manager and he promised to look into. Again I hear nothing, so I call him back today the 15th of June. He basically says there is nothing he can do but wait until it is processed. He gave the District office and they told me I would have to call the Regional Office, they do not handle these issues. Then the regional office gave me the number to the credit department and they could not help since they only handle Kohls charges not visa. They gave the corporate number in Wisconsin. As of 5:30 on the 15th, no one has gotten back to me and I am still out the amount of the void $200.04. If this was a return of merchandise, I understand I am at the mercy of credit card processing and my banks time it takes to process. This was a mistake made by Kohls faulty system and still 11 days later no refund. Since a retailer has to pay a higher discount rate for pin based debit transactions, I believe they have their cash registers bring up credit only to avoid paying the higher fee on pin based debit transactions.

Haha. I think maybe you need one more than me if you're spending your free time making inane comments about things that don't matter at all.

Unlike you, I actually care about the company I work for, and I want our customers to keep coming back. So if there's something I can do for them to make their bad experiences better, I want to do it.

I completely understand your frustration. There definitely should have been an option for you to choose debit. Did you have the cashier run your card, or did you do it yourself?

I know that when a customer has me run their card through for them, it will only appear as credit. However, if the customer runs it themselves, at the pinpad, it will ask them to either enter their pin, or select credit.

And as for it taking so long for you to get your money back...that's actually not completely in our hands. Depending on your bank, it may take a longer time for your money to be refunded. Because, although the manager did void the transaction, it had already run through. And that counts as a purchase. So what happened is that your bank and Kohl's processed it like a return. The same would happen if you gave them a check. The money, unfortunately, doesn't immediately go back to your account, and can take upwards of 2 weeks to clear back in. And before you get pissed off at Kohl's, please take a second to realize that your bank is also at fault. They have to look it over as well, and then it can go back into your account.

Kohl's I was extremely disappointed to spend so much time shopping and not be able to use my 30% off coupon

I recently received a 30% off coupon through the mail and made note of the expiration date of 6-18-10. However, when I shopped today, (6-17-10) for an hour or more and proceeded to pay for four birthday gifts, I was informed that the coupon expired on the 16th. Even the cashier said it looked like an 18 but of course she knew the sale ended yesterday. I am a fan of Kohl's but I was extremely disappointed to spend so much time shopping and not be able to use my 30% off coupon. If you want customers to continue shopping at your store, increase the font on the coupon and make the sales date legible and next time you won't lose a sale.

I have to agree with you, they have the policy of "Yes you can" if you would have spoke to the manager on duty, they would have given it to you. I know this, because my BFF works for Kohls. She says sorry. :)

During a checkout at Kohl's, I was offered a "department store" card by the cashier and a $20 discount. I thought it was a Safeway card style discount card. Big mistake! I entered some info on a POS device (address, phone, etc.) and the cashier promptly obtained my signature. When I saw the APR XX% on the form, I asked her if this was a department store...
