Do not use this company! I didn't find all of the complaints about them until after I had placed an order and my credit card had been charged. I contacted them via online chat because they have no valid phone number (Conveniently). The person I chatted with assured me my product was getting ready to ship, yet just 2 minutes before I spoke to another person who told me it had just got into "packing". So they are the biggest scam artists I have ever seen! They would not give me a valid phone number to call. They kept saying "we'll call you". This "company" is totally bogus! Hopefully I get the refund that they promised after I had them cancel my order. Don't order online unless you're positive the company actually exists... Lesson learned.
LightInTheBox.com would first like to take the time to apologize for the apparent delay with your package. Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and comments, as we truly appreciate any opportunity to improve.
As there was no order number included in the complaint, would it be possible for you to provide more details? Please email contact@lightinthebox.com with your order number and contact information and we will begin the process of looking into your complaint.
Again, we apologize, and sincerely hope that we can fix it for you.

Via this website/company I ordered 7 bridesmaid dresses in the same colour, but in different sizes. About a month before my wedding I received the dresses, guess what 4 of them were in right color and correct style, the trest of the 3 were in totally different color and style. I sent them quite a few emails with photos proving to them that they stuffed it up, but no answer, tried to call to the us customer service number - voicemail only to get it fixed and get the right dresses. Now 2 weeks before my wedding still no answer, therefore I had to cancel on 3 of my bridesmaids, because they wont have anything to wear! Do not order with this company as it does not give a f* about their customers or how they might be stuffing things up for their customers. The question is whether after reading this you would trust to order from this company!?

I ordered false eyelashes on 4/23/10 from there website. & lightinthebox had said that it would take 15-30 days. It's been over 30 days the maximum. I'm very disappointed! What is the hold up? I had ordered other false lashes a week after my purchase from lightinthebox & my shipment has arrived a week after. It's coming from the same location just as well (Hong kong) I want my money back and/or my purchase asap. You guys are nothing but a scam. Oh and by the way. I went on the website to check my status on the shipping, & they had said the product was shipped 4/26/10. But than a week ago on 5/20/10, they had erased or cleared my shipping status? I don't understand why. I never received them! You guys are a scam! & a fraud!

A legitimate Chinese wholesaler, this site appears to differ from the illegal fakers and sellers of phony designer goods in that the goods here which might have been passed off as real are not represented as genuine designer brands, but are openly imitations and close copies without the fake branding, manufactured and distributed from China.
Most of the items aren't likely to be confused with quality products manufactured by anyone in the West and they don't really attempt to mislead. However, this is not to say that the manufacturers don't mislead, and they do. For example, I don't recommend you putting a lot of faith in the specifications of the 20 Megapixel web camera, or the 6000 watt stereo system, unless you do some homework.
In the first case, obviously no webcam is going to be 20 megapixels, more like 2, or less. A USB connection couldn't cope with that sort of resolution anyway. And if you can buy a 20 megapixel camera for $10 you go right ahead, because professional DSLR cameras with that resolution cost many thousands of dollars. But the spec is not exactly a lie, because the camera comes with software that takes the already poor 2 megapixel camera image and "interpolates" it (blows it up) to a truly crappy 20 megapixel image which is now ten times poorer than the original. Still, that does match the spec. They even tell you, if you bother to look down the page, what it really means. Not that most people do bother to look. Of course what they don't tell you, is that the camera's sensor is crap and you can buy these cheaper on Ebay any day, and get PayPal protection too. But look, you're only being asked for $10. What did you expect?
I saw more than one person asking questions at Yahoo! Answers. Questions like, "I saw this 20 megapixel camera with dual-core processor for, like, $5. Is it going to be any good?"
Honestly, no offense but if you're asking that question, you shouldn't be allowed out.
In the case of the 6000 watt hi-fi, the figure quoted is PMPO, which originally meant "peak music power output", a meaningless and inflated interpretation of the actual power, but is now often used to mean "peak momentary power", the theoretical maximum the system can stand for a microsecond before exploding. Except that this system wouldn't stand that sort of power, not even for a microsecond, and you'd need to wear protective clothing or stand in another room when you turned the volume up.
And neither of these terms is in any way scientific, nor is there any standard way of measuring these supposed capabilities. The terms used by genuine audio manufacturers and dealers to describe audio power are specific but confusing to an outsider as they are ("root mean square", for example); but the figures here are just nonsense and are of use only by the manufacturers to persuade you to purchase. However, again not strictly lies, since PMPO could mean whatever they want it to mean. Somewhere here there is also a hand-held speaker for MP3 players that's rated high enough for Pink Floyd's PA system. You need to know what you're looking at.
The site, the wholesaler that is, is not and doesn't have to be responsible for what the manufacturers claim. Don't expect it. Actually, being Chinese, the manufacturers don't have to be responsible to anyone either. So don't expect to find anyone to blame, there isn't anybody.
This is mainly, but not necessarily entirely, very cheaply made junk sold at fair prices - for very cheaply made junk. If you buy a $5 MP3 player that looks like an iPod and it turns out not to sound or perform like an iPod, and you really thought it would, more fool you.
Lastly this is not Harrods, or Macy's, or Amazon, it's a Chinese wholesaler of very cheap products and perhaps, cheap products which you could be misled into believing might be quality products. Like any far-Eastern wholesaler, it's a lucky dip, or bargain bin, and you use some commonsense when dipping in. Divide the selling price by three, and that's probably what the product is actually worth, at the very most. Assume you're getting something which is worth that, and no more. If you have higher expectations, and you are rewarded, then you got lucky. It's a lucky dip, after all.
Disregard "discounts" as meaningless, and "reviews" as suspect. It's safer that way. Even the king of customer reviews, Amazon, is notoriously riddled with fakes.
Customer service is likewise. Might be OK, probably not, but then you knew that. Most of the time, most far-Eastern sites will not accept returns, or will suggest you pay the return shipping fees, which often begin at around $50. And then they will make you pay a second lot of shipping fees to send a new item back. If, that is, you are very lucky and they want to help you at all. They'll possibly even add a "handling charge" for good measure. So, often, the luckiest you'll get is for them to be honest with you and tell you to just write it off or give it to someone else.
It's not exactly a scam, unless they take your money and keep it, and either give you nothing, or send you something entirely different from what you ordered. It's just more like buying off a total stranger in a bar, than buying over the counter at a store. Think of it like that, and you probably stand a much better chance of not being ripped off.

I have to return two cell phones to this website located in china. These cell phones cost $139.99 but does not detect AT&T sim cards. It took them more than two weeks to reply with forms to exchange the defective cell phones. The website says it will only take 24 hours for customer service to get back to you but it took me more than 12 e-mails in 2 weeks. The worst part is that they already received the item back which I spend $40 with tracking but they never get back for status pass 2 weeks until this date. They have phone numbers but only if you can speak chinese and only for pre-sale inquiry One thing I learn do not buy imitated products from China..

I ordered a cell phone and prepaid it. The shipment was supposed to arrive in a month, so far a month and a half -nothing.
I sent them an e-mail, but have no response. Tried to dispute the transaction through PayPal, but they said this Company is beyond their jurisdiction. Also they sent me a fake tracking number for the shipment, but the number is non existent in the Postal automated tracking system. They simply stole my money !
Be aware, don't get burned by lightinthebox.com

This company is a joke... No way to get ahold of anyone other than "live chat" purchase a $200 dress that did not fit... No returns per live chat? Sounds like # to me... If I go to a store at the mall and purchase something... And it does not fit, you know damn well it can be returned. I am sure they won't leave this on their wall but something needs to and will be done. Crooked # company! I am in touch with the bbb...

ordered prom dress...did not fit...e-mail them 20 minutes after trying on to get RMA return information...was told would receive info from them within 24 hours..nope...tried for 6 days straight...phone number they give is bogus...you have 7 days to return"they say"...on the 7th day after writing many bad comments on their website, they blocked me and contacted my daughter...they said I could send the dress then they would give me my money...well, a woman from Australia did that..it cost her $30.00 to mail it back..it has been 3 months now..no refund...and now she has no dress, which I would bet, they resold. This company had hundreds of dissatisfied customers on their website, and removed them all when I started replying to each and everyone of them...they are a scam...contact the BBB...I did..and my lawyer!

I ordered a dress and it was not the quality nor did it fit. Way too small and I have not changed sizes in years.
I contacted customer service Tuesday the day I received the dress. Icontacted them on Weds, Thurs and Friday. NO response to this point. Customer service response within 24 hours! Poorest customer service I have ever had and I will do my best to post to as many sites as possible not to use LightInTheBox. It seems instead of returning the dress they think I should take it too a tailor to have it fit.
This company is just a SCAM and no one should ever do any business with them.

Bought a chandelier from this company. The photos on the website are modified to make the chandelier look very large. In reality it is 1 foot square and not what we expected. When we asked for instructions to return it, they wanted a photo of it. We sent a photo and they sent back a message suggesting we take another photo with a ruler in the photo. What For? It was misrepresented, I don't want it. I want a return. The return policy SUCKS. They want 30 % RESTOCKING. So far this has been a bait and switch business. I would go so far as to call it fraud! This last mail message has left me with no trust made me lose trust. It looks like they intend to stall past the time period for return.

Most importantly: our credit cards were hacked within a day of buying something (A dress) on this site. Going through every transaction we had made in the past year (The card was 11 months old) this was the only site that did not run on verified and secured payment system. The charges made to our card were all made in china. Stay away from this site, seriously. I ordered a last minute dress from them and it turned out nothing close to what was pictured, measurements were godawful (I am a size 6 and the dress literally fell off of me), and arrived with a tear down the zipper.
For 3 weeks after ordering, I attempted communication in order to get a refund. I got back multiple generic form emails which did not address a refund whatsoever. They (At the time, I don't know if it changed) had no us phone line - one was listed but nobody ever picked up - tried over 20 times during different times of day to call it.
These are scam artists, plain and simple. They do not represent their products accurately, the quality is terrible, prices are not just barely cheaper than anywhere else, and as youcan see from all of the other reviews, refunds do not happen. Finally, and they aren't secure enough to be trusted with your credit card information. Stay away from this site.

So BAAAADDDDDD! It is really a terrible experience that i had in lightinthebox. I was very happy that i find the eye shadow palette with 180 colors at the first time, and without more consideration, i place the order at once also for the $31.49 cheap price. Yet, 30 days were passed, yet nobody contact me about my order, and i am disappointed by the same replay of waiting waiting waiting ...I can not bear them. On August.1, 35 days later i finally received them, Yet, all was over when i unwrapped the package. Everything was destroyed...I give this bad review to lightinthebox just hope that tell you that never buy from them. They are frauddddddd...

I am so pissed! I ordered these pair of boots and I wanted the ones in the picture. I read over the reviews and questions to try and find out what color the ones in the original picture was. Luckily, someone had already asked what color they were, and they got the reply, "brown." So I ordered a "brown" pair. I was a little doubtful, so I decided to contact them myself. I've been checking everyday since my order to see if I read it wrong, and to wait for them to reply back. I finally got my reply AFTER 72 HOURS, in which I wasn't allowed to get a FULL REFUND, and they said the ones in the picture were yellow! I was so angry. So I thought to myself, this couldn't be right. I went back to that one question that I've been reading for the last few days over and over so that I know I had gotten the right color, AND THE ANSWER WAS CHANGED TO YELLOW. The answer was literally CHANGED to yellow. So I ordered another pair and was hoping they would exchange it for me but THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME MY FULL REFUND. They're the ones that said it was BROWN IN THE FIRST PLACE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I made a purchase online and cancelled the order the same day because of the shipping date. I still have not recieved my refund after the company promised to give it to me. What is the problem?

I went through all the steps to purchase two cameras and at no point was Duty mentioned. The cameras are now in the UK from China and I have had a call from DHL customs services asking me for a further £20.00 for customs duty.
