LuLu Hypermarket wrong sale

Well sorry to say that this a complaint, I had purchased a Lumix Digital Camera from Lulu Hypermarket, Al-Nahda, Sharjah recently on 26/04/2013.

But after reviewing the Camera I found in low light there was visible line in the images taken, understood to be a crack internally.

Well immediately on second day 28/04/2013 in the evening I went back with the complaint, and made them understand the fault. However I was badly in need of a good camera I asked whether I can look into other models which I would like and buy. After 45 mins I was finding it difficult to comparatively take other camera as it was not suiting to my requirement.

Therefore one of the sale representative suggested to take a handy cam and as it was in stock clearance it was at a low price.

I took the handy cam, under impression it would be comparatively or equally better of the lumix on my previous purchase. I was not able to visually understand the aspects of the camera as they didn't have any display pieces. Believing as enquired the details it made me believe to be a HD Handy cam I shopped happily and additionally paid 300/- aed.

After reviewing, capturing videos and playing it on my computer I found slight grains, where I got an understanding as it is not a HD Handy cam.

By 30/04/2013 in the evening again I went back with the Handy Cam and told them comparative to the previous product this product has a very low video quality and I would like to get a better product achieving to my requirement under the same budget.

1- They denied saying to me that they would return this product to the company and if they agree would exchange/return back the money.

2- Denied the fact as per mentioned in the Bill inside 7 Days Exchange of the product is not valid for electronic items. How ? as there are not terms and conditions laid.

3- I shop for a requirement and buy and see to that if the following product is damaged, I return under the conditions laid at the same place and look forward to purchase if possible from the same place another justified product as a customer.

But if a lulus representative says to me Sir if we are exchanging the product you cannot buy a camera or handy cam because you will come with other reasons to us. You can buy something else. This is consider as one of the rudest statement and it gives a feel to us customer as they have got the money so whatever rules they lay as slaves to be followed

I have my marriage and its a gift I am presenting to someone very precious so I am looking for a product that will make the important person happy.

Also, i have same experience with Riyadh LuLu and when i discussed my issue with my friends they also having the same experience overall now it is true that LuLu is sales defective Electronics and House hold Items.
if some one know where can we complaint these issues please let us know.

LuLu Hypermarket quality of foods

we always go to lulu in khobar to buy all grocery items. Becoz we get all indian items in one place. But i decided to stop to go to lulu for ever. What ever items they are having is old stock or spoiled. I had tried many things.
1. Bag of rice[had very bad smell]
2. Veg cutlet [spoiled inside]
3. Chinese noodles [old stock]
4. Yesterday we bought fish from lulu and today i made curry from that [very bad smell. Spoiled fish]
Whatever they are selling is not good. Waste of money. Here after i never buy from lulu. And also telling you also not to buy anything from lulu khobar

LuLu Hypermarket poor quality of the cloth noticed after stitching.

I have purchased a cloth material from Lulu Hypermarket, Al Barsha Branch, Dubai, U.A.E on 10/05/2009. It was stitched on 19/05/2009 and was worn twice. After the second wear I have noticed that the cloth on the sleeve side was torn and also the quality of the cloth looked very bad (this was not noticed at the time of buying).

The next day morning on 6th June 09, I came to Lulu Al Barsha and made my complaint. The supervisor was so rude and told me that since I do not have the bill I cannot claim for any exchange nor I do not have a valid claim to prove that the cloth was purchased from them. Hence I put in writing a complaint and also spoke to the General Manager. He spoke in a very nice manner and told me that he will check with the supplier.

On the same day evening, I found the bill and again I went to meet the General Manager. He took a similar cloth like mine and told that the quality is very good and hence he cannot do anything from his side unless the supplier confirms about the quality. On checking the new cloth I found that the clothe was slightly damaged on one side. But he disagreed to my view point and did'nt even bothered to check the cloth.

I have also purchased another material from Lulu on 25th May 2009, stitched and was not even worn once. I thought of examining this cloth as well and I found that the cloth is of very poor quality. Hence I thought I will make a complaint before I show up the second material to the General Manager of Lulu. I am planning to meet him today to find out his course of action for the complaint cloth and also to make a complaint for the new cloth that was purchased on 25th May 2009.

The material price are as follows - Cost of material purchased on 10/05/2009 - AED 239.00
Cost of material purchased on 25/05/2009 - AED 194.00

From my observation I feel that both these clothes are from the same supplier and that this a supply of poor, low grade clothes.

The General Manager also told me that there is only replacement for ready made garments. For fabrics there is no guarantee at all. That means only if you are a lucky customer you could get a good material from Lulu and if you are an unlucky one you have to bear the loss for your life time.

I need this complaint to be investigated after my meeting with the General Manager today.

My complaint got solved on 9th June 2009. Lulu compensated for the cloth and the stitching charges.
I just wonder why they have made this issue so worse rather than trying to solve it immediately.
I hope they will procure cloth material from standard suppliers who have policies for damages.

LuLu Hypermarket scam and fraud!

The ugly side is with one of the purchases we made there last month. Since the lulu hypermarket opened in Qatar we have been shopping there at least once a month for almost all our grocery and other needs too. To get everything under one roof at low prices the first thing that comes to almost everyones mind is LULU.

And so we bought a ZOJIRISHI flask along with other grocery items on 24th january. On using we found the water doesn’t stay at boiling point overnight. the boiling point temperature reduces and the water starts getting warm ONLY. As for the ZOJIRISHI brand we r sure that water stays at boiling point even for 48 hrs. we have been using this brand for many years and know its performance. And so decided to exchange it. On taking it to lulu the customer service man said he will test it and then let us know. The next day we went and he said the water is warm so he cant exchange it. As we were not satisfied with the flask we asked for an exchange so he told us to see Mr. basheer from the purchasing. He said he will contact the supplier and get back to us.But again no response from them. After some weeks we ourselves went there to enquire and they said the supplier has refused to exchange whereas they had still not contacted the supplier which we came to know later on. On arguments and protest Mr. basheer was rude and told us he will see to it that we don’t get an exchange. Then another customer service guy (Palestinian) came and was very polite and said he will call us after looking into the matter.

After 2 days we got a call from the zojirishi salesman Mr.shafi in Qatar BLUE SALOON. He asked us the matter and HIMSELF agreed that zojirishi is guaranteed to keep water at boiling point for at least 12 hrs or even more. He also said that he got a call from LULU just yesterday about this matter whereas they informed us wrong. He promised to clear this matter himself with lulu and give us an exchange. For many days no response from him again. We ourselves tracked him down calling BLUE SALOON. And this time Mr.Shafi was a changed person. He said he cannot do anything about the whole matter which we r sure is cause of pressure from Mr.Basheer from lulu.

Again we went to lulu and this time talked to the manager himself . On talking to him about the system of complaints or exchange in a hypermarket he got very annoyed. He said he will test the flask and let us know. After 2 days we received a call from lulu that there is no exchange and to take our old flask back and this was on the 6th of march.

For almost 50 days our purchased flask is with them... with no follow up from them in the whole matter. All this incidents has made us to think should we make our purchases at THE GREAT LULU HYPERMARKET... when they cant guarantee their commodities. Also such bad behavior with the customer... it is really shameful.

Also once we had purchased fresh chicken from lulu during eid-ul-adha. On coming home and checking it the chicken smelled of bleach and had changed color. We returned It to lulu that moment but now we think we should have called up the Food control officer instead. I also want to appreciate the other hypermarkets in Qatar who have really taken care of their customers and have really shown the decency of following a system of rules in hypermarkets.

1) DASMAN hypermarket... we had purchased a Black and Decker water kettle and found leakage in it after using it at home and returned it in 2 days. With no harassment to the customer they exchanged it for us to a even different brand we were happy with.

2) CARREFOUR hypermarket... very good service from them... the customer service counter too solves any problems then and there and they themselves get back to us on a complaint and assure that we r happy with them. They give so much value to a customer unlike LULU.

3) GIANT STORES... we r very happy with them too... the customer service people have been very good to us on our complaints... they themselves had solved our complaints and saw to it that we return with a smiling face from their hypermarket.

Lulu should not call itself a hypermarket as customers discomfort or dissatisfaction is not important from them. Instead of taking care of the customers dissatisfaction it has taken care of its own employees dissatisfaction.

did u really file complaints to the other three hypermarkets?...what are u complaining about really...what stuffs are u buying?...are u british?...lol

i totally sympathize with u about ur incident with lulu and really admire ur patience to follow up the matter with the management. most of us would have been fed up, discouraged or even afraid to ask. u stood up for the silent majority. thank you
