damaged my rims
I purchased 3 new tires from Mavis in NY before driving back to my home in Montana. Within 24 hours the front left tire was low. I suspected they did not mount it correctly. Since I was traveling across the US, I stopped once or twice a day and put air in it. When I arrived home I took the rim and tire to my local Pro Tire and they told me that whoever had mounted the new tire cracked my rim and it could not be repaired. When I contacted the Manager at the Peekskill store, I was told that it was my "misfortune" for not still being in NY where they could see the rim. I took pictures and sent them to the District office. A man by the name of Joel took my compliant, but insisted that they did nothing wrong. I had also taken the rim and tire to another company locally, Tire Rama, and they also told me that the damage was done by whom ever mounted the tire. Joel was rude, unprofessional and would not let me speak on the phone. He interrupted me, spoke over me, and mocked me like I was an idiot. He kept saying the rim was rusted and pitted, but I live on a red dirt road and I did not clean the rim before taking the picture so that he could see the fresh, new damaged marks on it for himself. There are long scratches, hammer marks and bent spots along the edge from the tech trying to "fix" the damage he did.
These people ruined an Infinity rim for my car and refuse to repair or replace it. Now I can not drive my car until I find a new or used rim. I am still trying to see what I can do about them replacing or repairing my rim.
defective tires that cannot be returned
Do not buy these tires! And definitely do not buy from mavis discount tires. I've purchased 3 sets of this same model tire (Blizzak ws60) for 3 different cars and the first two sets went bad within the first year. The tires developed bubbles and unevenness on the side wall which made the car vibrate violently at any speed. The repair shop told me that they're not repairable and definitely not safe to leave on car so I had to buy new tires on the spot twice. The last set I purchased, I tried to return to the store (Mavis tires) before I even put them on the car since the previous set experience the same problem. Mavis would not take them back and told me to deal with bridgestone which would not take them back either. Now i'm stuck with a set of 4 tires that i'm sure won't last me and definitely won't trust taking them on long trips. I expressed my dissatisfaction to both mavis and bridgestone and both representatives didn't seem to care and told me to that I was out of luck and if I didn't like it I should buy from someone else. Please read and pay attention to customer reviews since we the customers are the only ones that can honestly try to help each other. Stores just want to make the sale and after that don't care what you think. Thank you. Tony, queens new york.

balance & alignment
I brought my car to Mavis Discount Tire for a 4 wheel balance and rotation, May 22, 2010.
I was offered a special for $ 29.99 which included an alignment check.
After the alignment check was done I was informed that the car needed an alignment. I agreed to the alignment at an additional cost of $ 69.99
unless the bolts were tight it would be an additional $ 10.00.
After the work was completed I was charged $ 29.99 plus $ 69.99 plus tax for a total of 108.20. I returned the car to Mavis Discount Tire May 27, 2010 and informed the manager that the steering wheel still vibrated and the car still pulled. The rebalanced the 4 wheels and determined that the alignment had to be redone, the technician rebalanced the 4 wheels and advised me that he was unable to redo the alignment as the bolts were to tight, but he would try to do the alignment anyway. The car was now worse than it was when originally taken to Mavis Discount Tire May 22, 2010. I was given a full refund of the $ 108.20.
This was all done by credit card.
The technician road tested the car and was in agreement with now that the car still had the vibration and still pulled.
The left front door on my car was damaged at Mavis Discount Tire and the
corporate office is sending me a DVD.
This does not appear to be complete.

Don't sign anything ask lots of questions get truthful answers. If you don't you'll get the screwing of your life at Mavis Discount Tires and trust me you won't enjoy it.
I visisted the store and speced a set of tires for my car. I got a price quote. I called a day later to confirmed they had the tires in inventory, they did so I scheduled an appointment again confirming the price was "all included" Tires stems wheel balancing, taxes and tire recycling charges, and again they confirmed the quote. When I arrived to get the tires installed the up sell began in ernst first it was a $60.00 alignment (which I didn't need), then because my car was a GM model and had tire pressure sensors there was a $5.00 a tire charge for re-sealing the valves. At this point I had enough, it was clear they were not going to honor their price quote. So I suggested they could put the tire back in inventory or some where else where the sun doesn't shine (if you get my meaning) and left the building. Typical ### they called and want to know what they could do to earn my business. Nothing, with this business model you won't be around long enough to earn my business. Wake up you jerks, Americans are sick and tired of this kind of crap. Stop screwing customers and just maybe you can do some business.

Mavis in Massapequa on Sunrise HwyAre scam artists. The manager John is a jerk off. I bought tires there that I got a warranty on them, from him a few months back. Got a nail in one and could not be repaired. Took them 4 days to get tire when it usually is next day. Went in there to have it replaced so they said leave it because they wanted to see if they could plug it, 4 days go by finally can come get it. Go in there have to wait for them to mount it when I assumed it had already been completed, then he tells me after they placed it on my car and (balanced it without asking me first) that it will be $231. Mind you I only paid $125 a for the tire initially. He tells me that is the price acting dumb like he never saw me before, I told him when I dropped the tire off that I had a warranty 4 days prior. Then he looks at his records and finally realizes I have warranty coverage only after I got my old receipts out. Then his mechanic pro rates the tire tread and says its below the rating and "doesn't matter about my warranty, when I objected he says "I'll take a look at it". Comes back and says its 60% tread left after they tried to say the tire was bald and will give me 50% warranty then tells me the new bill is $95. WTF I paid $125 originally, he says that he has to go off the list price of $195 and that's standard practice on all warranties. My biggest issue was he tried treating me like I had never been there when he sold me the tires originally and pushed me for warranty never telling me that any warranty is prorated off list price. I am not a fan of extra coverage on things so I asked him a few question about the warranty and the only thing he said at that time was the go of a tread life rating nothing else. When I stated that he got argumentative and said I was just making up scenarios and Blah blah blah. All my info is right in front of his face and I have bought a few set of tires from them for around the same price. So basically he was just trying to jerk me and charge me full price and then after I called him out on it he did everything in his power to give me excuses to cover his ### on this. What a ###ing scamming ###, I am so heated about this and will be calling his bosses on this matter.
corrupt business
I purchased a hyundai sonata about 2 1/2 years ago. I have never had anyone at the dealership tell me anything serious, or try to con me into buying anything. I had a slight leak in my front left tire (driver side). I took it to Mavis Discount Tire Center on Larkfield Road in East Northport. The guy told me that I needed a new tire b/c the nail was close to the side. This was not a tear and two other guys from other dealerships told me they could plug it. I took it to Walmart and got it plugged. The nail was the size of half of a thumbtack. The guys at Mavis are extremely corrupt and I would never buy their crappy tires that they tried to sell me. I called the guy and told him about the tire and he said that the other mechanics weren't doing me any favors b/c it would likely tear. I have 25, 000 miles on my car and I would rather get a few more thousand miles out of the tire if I could. The hell with Mavis. I'm not just going to throw it away and get a new tire when I can get more mileage out of it in the meantime while it is plugged.

My muffler was getting loud, on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma so I stopped In to Mavis in Auburn NY. to check out where the noise was coming from. There assistant manager comes out and tells me that I need both manifolds. Both catalytic converter, and o2 sensors. $2600.00 worth of parts and labor. Needless to say I took it to Midas, the manager there tells me that the muffler has a hole on it the size of a quarter. $260.00 later I was on my way. Then when I went back to confront the assistant manager he didnt want to hear it. He insisted that the leak was coming from the manifolds. Totally trying to to rip me off!
Had the same experiences at Yonkers Ny mavis. They are not to be trusted.
This Mavis Tire in East Northport is pathetic. I went in there for two rear tires and they told me it would be about an hour. I went to the pizza place next door for lunch and came back and they had the car up on a lift trying to upsell me everything from brakes to alignments. They had even taken the front wheels off and had the hood open. No reason for them to have taken this all apart to put rear tires on the vehicle. Then I had to wait around for them to put everything back together. Do not support this company/business. They are terrible.
So sounds like we will see you siting on the side of the road changing your flat tire because you chose not to get a new one
bad tires
Bought new tires from Mavis. Rear tire suddenly went flat without warning. they said it had a huge three inch gash and needed replacing... no explanation. We bought the new tire.
One week later, the same tire went flat. They said it was another hole. Couldn't explain it. Said they couldn't fix it. Gave me a ten dollar discount on a new tire.
I am taking this bad tire to another service center to findout where the hole came from.
This smells bad to me.
Mavis Tire Bay Shore .Bought Cooper Tires. Next day noticed they were Starfires. Thought it was honest mistake. Was told they don't say Cooper, but they are made by Cooper. Corporate greed and deception.Probably won't file a complaint with consumer affairs.Nobody does unfortunately.
service
I went to the store to have my front brakes serviced and when I arrived for my appointment I wasn’t assisted for almost 30 minutes. The person at the service desk was very nice and accommodating. He came to tell me that my brakes would be fixed and it would cost approximately $250.00, which was fine. I then proceeded to wait for almost 3 hours while other...
