crap workmanship done to 2010 honda fit
Warning, warning, warning if you love and take care of your car, Plus value your life stay away from Mavis Tire 319 Main Street Madison New Jersey.
Got a flat at church this past Sunday dealership in town not open on Sunday had tow truck take my car down the street to Mavis Tire.
My front driver side tire was flat this was a new tire purchased less than 6 months ago at Madison Honda.
Here's where the problems begin:
It took five and a half hours to place a new tire on my car, Plus as a added bonus the service technician broke the lug nut I allso had the oil change due to the indicator light on. My car was finished right at closing time.
Go to get in my car start the engine and the tire pressure indicator light is still on back in to the dealership I go and ask the service manager behind the front desk was there anything wrong with my car still? His answer to me was, once you started driving the car the indicator light would go off.
Dud I knew that! I walked out and thought this to be very strange every time I go to the dealership when I leave there's no indicator lights still on.
I get less than 5 minutes down the street and my car starts to violently Shake I quickly pull into a gas station get out look at the front passenger side tire and it's flat.
Mavis Tire let me leave there business with a second flat tire. I called this Shoty work but also very dangerous this kind of poor work endangered my life because I was a minute away from getting on 287 a major highway located here in New Jersey.
Monday morning I had my car towed to Madison Honda the service tech knew what the issue was right away all four tires had pressure monitor valves cap on them.
The caps monitor the tire pressure and pop up alerting me visual when the tire pressure was getting low.
Well the caps were old and pressing against the inside valve located in the air hose that was the reason why I was losing air out of relatively new tires, Air was slowly escaping out of the pressure valve cap.
Basically what the service tech at Honda told me I paid for a new tire that I really did not need.
What could have been a easy fix ended up being a hot mess. Plus am out $173.00 dollars.
If you value your car do not go to Mavis Tire 318 Main Street Madison New Jersey.
the work done on my car struts wheel bearings batteries tire repair alignment
I recently went to Mavis in Hudson NY and had 1100 dollars of work done when I actually went for a tire repair I was told all that work needed to be done. After six hours of waiting when I was told only one and a half hours I take my car home it now has a front end vibration I go back the next day and after two more hours I'm told their puzzled come back in a week if not gone so I did two more hours and now I'm being told I need a tune up cause when they put my new wheel bearings in my spark plugs and wires are bad and I need a tune up. First of all the wheel bearings are way far apart from the spark plugs I know people who are mechanics. Every time I go for some thing simple it costs me a fortune and now I'm reading all the complaints on your site. I want for you to pay for the tune up since it took two weeks to come up with that bs. If not I'm going to take this further and I'm going to get the word out about how crooked you are. I live in valatie NY I need to get this done asap as my car vibrates all over the place. I would like a gift certificate or some thing sent to me to get this done I am not happy at all. I give a lot of business to Mavis but I won't any more if you don't satisfy this. customer service
Tonight I stopped by Brewster Mavis and walked into schedule the tire install of new cooper six tires. I entered the door and Peter was standing behind the counter. He finished helping the customer at the desk. Then I walked up to the desk and Peter says I get to you in a minute and he then goes and starts talking to a cute girl that I had already asked if she was next and she said that she was already being helped. Every time I go into that place Peter is always nasty. This was the last time I will ever go to that place. I will be taking my $1000 tire purchase else ware. I suggest every one goes some where else because in this world the customer should not be treated like crap or that we are bothering the salesmen. A salesmen who makes commission on every tire he sales. Also FYI always ask if they can charge $9.99 for the mount and balance instead of $19.99. This is one place that all Mavis will flex on.
michelin tires purchased at mavis with factory rebate
On Jan 15, 2016 I acquires from Mavis Tire Supply LLC at Riveriside - CT (Christopher Snyder - Asst. Mgr) four Michelin tires 235/60HR18 for US$ 823.96 (US$ 205.99 each) with the promise of a Factory Rebate equivalent to the value of one tire.
Forms were filed and sent on JAN 19th . No response to date.
Complained with Customer Assistance of Michelin and they claim Michelin did not have a Nationwide Rebate Program effective that date, but they could have a specific one and suggested I call Cedar Rapids one. I returned to Mavis and they also confirmed I should call Cedar Rapids Customer Assistance on [protected]. I tried numerous times to call there with no success. Additionally, no one answer my sixteen requests to call me back.
Michelin produces good tires and Mavis provides a good service, however I fell trapped by them. Want my promised rebate that is taking in excess of three months
inspection
I took my car to Mavis to get an inspection in which my wife and I waited in their waiting room after they finished as the worker was moving my car they backed it into the garage door. The problem didn't start until we pointed out the damage to our car. They were denying the damage saying the door was 90% up and it was on video so I asked to see the video I was told a regional manager has to be there. I waited a day didn't hear from the regional manager so I call the corporate office I eventually got a call back from the manager saying that the video was inconclusive and that they would pay for the damage after getting the estimate for the damage they ask me to take it too one of their guys for a second opinion in which I did. After that they decided they would only pay for the damages if I take it to their guy and threaten to only now pay for specific damages if I go to my guy
tire installation
I have had the worst experience at Mavis Discount Tire. They have failed to order my tires two times. I had to wait for them to be reordered or settle for a different tire. Two times the lost the inner wheel caps on my rims. I have had to return numerous times for them to correct the balancing. The topping is they tell you to drive in and keep you waiting all day. I will never shop here again!

I strongly suggest you go elsewhere to get your tires. If you do decide to go to Mavis and are expecting a rebate, be careful. I have been going back and forth with the store for months and since they made a mistake and do not keep accurate records, they will not give me the rebate as noted on my rebate form.

totally tried to rip me off
I had previously bought Tires at this location--they were rated to be 60, 000 mile tires and I only got 37, 000 miles out of them--I went their to try to get them to pro rate the tires under Michelins wear warranty--I saw the Manager and he put the car on the lift and then proceeded to tell me that the reason the tires went bad was because all 4 struts needed replacing--quoted me a total rip off price of $1000 for this work--the car has 76, 000 miles on it--it is a Toyota Camry Hybrid--I decided to have the Toyota dealership look at it before doing the work--GUESS WHAT---all 4 struts were fine-----MAVIS TIRE and the manager of the mount sinai ny location lied to me--I WILL
NEVER GIVE THEM AOTHER DIMES WORTH OF BUSINESS.

mavis discount tire warwick ny rip off, scam
After getting my car routine maintenance from the dealer 2 days ago or 120 miles ago today I got a flat tire. Went into Mavis Discount Tires in Warwick NY to get a tire and they tried to upsell me brake flush, axle, and power steering work because they were all leaking in the car. I didn't know they have to open the hood to replace tires and how are my...

My car needed a tire pressure sensor. I asked Luigi at the service desk for a price. He told me that he did not know because my car needed to be brought into the service bay to be looked at. I waited and then asked for my keys to be returned. He refused to do so saying that my car was in the service bay which it was not. I could see that my car was still parked outside. I demanded that my keys be returned. He finally complied. This Luigi tries to tell customers to purchase additional services. He also is very arrogant.
service scam
On 12/5/12, I took my car to Mavis because my check engine light was on and I needed an inspection and the car was shifting hard between 10 mph. I took it in and spoke to the manager Freddy. I told him my problem and he said that they will take a look at my car and will call me later. Later that day, Freddy called me up and told me that he had his mechanic check my car and he said that my engine mounts that was causing me to shift rough. He told me that I had to replace them and that will fix the problem. Freddy also had other services done totaling $1, 059.02. With the check engine light, he said that he doesn't know what it is and it's some miscellaneous code. He would reset it. He told me that I had to leave my car overnight and pick it up tomorrow.
On 12/6/12, I stopped by Mavis after work around 6 pm to pick up my car. Freddy said that he replaced my engine mounts and that will fix the problem with my car shifting rough and to drive the car for 50 mlies and if the check engine light doesn't come back on then I can get my inspection done. Once I left Mavis store, about 5 minutes driving the check engine light came back on and the car was shifting rough again. In addition, now the car really vibrates when the car is idle! Unbelievable...I go into the car shop to get things fixed and come out with more problems.
On 12/7/12, I call him up and tell him the problem is not fixed, so Freddy tells me to come by and he will check it out. I stop by around 1 pm and he and I get in my car and he drives it and the problem is still there like I said. Freddy tells me that the car shifts fine which is not true. Then I ask him I thought that with the engine mount changed it would fix that problem. Freddy now tells me that it's a compound problem with my check engine light on and tells me that he's not an expert and doesn't know what that code is. Then why DID HE TELL ME THAT AFTER I CHANGE THE ENGINE MOUNT, MY SHIFTING HARSH PROBLEM WOULD BE FIXED?!?! The guy LIED to me and now brushing me off after he charged me over $1000! He then ask me if I have a regular mechanic I go to and I tell him no. He tells me he can refer me to a mechanic he knows that can look at it. NO THANK YOU! He rips me off already and now wants me to go somewhere else! He tells me that my engine was moving before and it isn't now so that's why my car vibrates more now when it idles. What a bunch of BS! This guy PROMISES to fix my problem but he doesn't even know what he is talking about! I ask him to show me what the code is for the check engine light so he goes and get this device and shows me a code. It is P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid D Electrical.
I go home and look up the code online and it is "Some 2005 – 2007 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles equipped with an automatic transaxle may exhibit a harsh shift condition"...that is exactly my car issue! I guess Freddy was too busy to look up what the code is if he doesn't know and goes to make random repairs on cars and rips people off! If he doesn't know what the problem is, he shouldn't have told me that by changing the engine mounts, it would fix the problem. There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80, 000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty. I called up Toyota Service center and my car is covered under warranty to fix this issue.
On 12/15/12, I took my car into Toyota service center and I told them the same problem I told Freddy. The service center replaced the ECU in my car which fixed the hard shifting problem and I told them about the car vibrating alot when it idles. They told me it was the front right side engine mount. After they replaced that, the vibration when the car idles stopped! This proves that FREDDY from MAVIS ripped me off! He charged me to replace me engine mounts but he didn't even do that because after Toyota changed it, the problem went away!
Freddy from Mavis lied to me and charged me for repairs which he CLAIMED would fix my problem but didn't. When i confront him about it, he changes his story and tells me it's a "compound" issue with the check engine light. Well, if it's a compound problem and you don't know if changing the engine mount will fix my problem...then why did you tell me so and charged me for it?!
...Oh by the way, I recorded the conversation I had with him on 12/7/12, when he checked my car again and gave me his BS excuse. Good thing I recorded it because he lied to me and made it seem like what he fixed on my car would resolve my problem.
poor service
MAVIS TIRE (3434 State St. Schenectady NY) who would think getting 4 tires put on would be such an ordeal. Set up an appointment online so we wouldn't have to wait. Yea right.. Took 4 hours to put on 4 tires and replace a passenger side inner tie rod end plus alignment. The tires were NOT balanced CORRECTLY. They put weights (not small weights)on the exact opposite sides of each other. They inflated all 4 tires to 35 psi when it calls for 44 psi and payed no attention to linning up the dot on the tire in accordance with the valve stem. They said that doesn't matter.. well they put that dot there for a reason and it matters to us...
grease and oil change
Please, please read! I brought my car into the mount kisco mavis for a simple grease and oil change. They kept me waiting for two hours (This was with a reservation) when the car was finally done... The manager tells me I have something wrong with the my front right caliper. Oh, and by the way my car was driving beautifully when I originally brought it there. Also, before I even went to mavis I had three routine checks on the brakes and tires (In the last three months) when I was having some other work done on my car. There were absolutly no problems with the calipers or brakes ect! But now, (Just two minutes after leaving mavis's lot) my abs brake light is on. This light has never been on since i've had this car for the last seven years. I immediatly went home and spoke to my regular machanic and he said it sounds like they cut a wire! The manager was also anxious at the time to give me a real low ball price so I would get it done right away. Since this experiance with mavis i'm now in the process of contacting my local and state agencies to file a complaint in an attempt to allert other consumers of their fraudlent practices. I will also attempt to collect on whatever expences I will incur due to the extent of damage they did by cutting the wires / part they broke intentially. This is a warning! Do not use mavis in mount kisco! I hope I can get the word out to as many people as possible! I should have listened to all the rumors I was hearing about them. But, I figured it was just rumors. Oviously not!

To my way of thinking that is theft, and I want $221 NZ refunded to my credit card asap. If I dont receivr the over payment then I shall put a notice on Face book.I see that other people havr had the same problem, so please let me know why this accured. What a rip off . it is just a bunch of young, inexperienced, untrained people that are working on your car
I purchased 3 new tires from Mavis in NY before driving back to my home in Montana. Within 24 hours the front left tire was low. I suspected they did not mount it correctly. Since I was traveling across the US, I stopped once or twice a day and put air in it. When I arrived home I took the rim and tire to my local Pro Tire and they told me that whoever had mounted the new tire cracked my rim and it could not be repaired.
When I contacted the Peekskill store, I was transferred three different times before reaching the manager who told me that it was my “misfortune” for not still being in NY where they could see the rim. I asked for an email address to send the pictures to and was directed to “Mavis.com” which by the way, was not an email address and their message system does not allow pictures to be attached to messages.
I took pictures and sent them to the District office after speaking to a District Manager (?). A man by the name of Joel took my compliant, but insisted that they did nothing wrong. (I had also taken the rim and tire to another company locally, Tire Rama, and they also told me that the damage was done by whom ever mounted the tire). Joel was rude, abrupt, unprofessional, down right hostile, and would not let me speak on the phone.
He interrupted me, spoke over me, and mocked me like I was an idiot. He kept saying the rim was rusted (I even know that aluminum rims don’t rust) and pitted. I live on a red dirt road and I did not clean the rim before taking the picture so that he could see the fresh, new damaged marks on it for himself. There are long scratches, hammer marks and bent spots along the edge from the tech trying to “fix” the damage he did.
When I brought the car in the bad tire was holding air just fine and I didn’t encounter a problem with it until after they mounted the new tire. These people ruined an Infinity rim for my car and refuse to repair or replace it. Now I can not drive my car until I find a new or used rim. I am still trying to see what I can do about them replacing or repairing my rim. Don’t ever trust them with your car.
It is just a bunch of young, inexperienced, untrained people that are working on your car. What’s worse, the fact that they are so rude and pompous to believe that people will continue to do business with them even after episodes like this. In these economic times they should be trying to get or keep customers, not chase them away.
lug nut negligence
On January 17, 2011, I purchased four new tires for my car from Mavis Discount Tires AKA Cole Muffler. They neglected to replace the lug nuts on my front, driver side tire, in which, driving away (2 blocks from their store) my tire flew off into traffic causing my car to slam down onto my rotor, damaging the rotor, studs, front fender and flare, not to...

I had a slow leak in my rear back tire. The tire was still under warranty so i took it to Mavis to get it looked at. I was planning to go away over the weekend, so while I was there I had an oil change also. I mentioned to the guy that I was going away, could he also check the tire pressure in all the tires and the brakes. the did the oil change and replaced the tire at a reasonable price. When I went to leave my truck would not drive. The engine would rev but not move foward, then when it did catch it would jerk foward then just rev again. The guy got in and just tried to put it in drive and reverse a few times then stated it seemed my transmission was blown. I was obviously extremely upset, he then proceeded to tell me that all they did was change the tire and the oil and that it was not their problem, that I should call the 800 number in the morning. All three of the grown men then proceeded to close the shop and leave me (a young woman) alone in the parking lot at 9pm at night. No one asked if i had a ride, needed the phone, nothing. Just turned off the lights and said make sure you lock your doors. I sat there for 30 mins waiting for a ride. When I tried to call the 800 number, a woman answered and when i got 2 sentences into explaining what had happened she interuptted me and said she couldnt help me "at all" and that i should call back later. She had a very nasty attitude and was really rude. She wouldnt even take a message, even though she was the receptionist. I am having my truck towed to another shop to find out exactly what they did. these people dont care about anyone and don't know what they are doing.

bait and switch scam artists and a ripoff!!
Mavis Discount Tire is a ripoff and they lie to steal your money! Do NOT do business with them! I had a tire checked by a mechanic since it had a very slow leak in one tire on my car. He put the tire in a tub of water and saw a slow leak from a nail in the tread. My mechanic was leaving on vacation and said he does not fix tires for leaks. So I went to a local Mavis Discount Tire store to get it fixed. The criminals at Mavis told me it would cost only $20 to plug the nail hole in the tread. Two hours later I was billed $180 because they lie and said there was a hole in the sidewall of that tire but another tire had a nail hole in it. They said they sidewall of the tire cannot be plugged so they had to replace the tire and patch the other one. I had to pay the bill to get my car back from these crooks. Then when I paid they made me sign the receipt for the work with some disclaimer to release any liabilty against them - or else they would not give me back my car even though I paid them after they ripped me off! STAY AWAY FROM THE CRIMINALS AT MAVIS DISCOUNT TIRE!
tire insurance not ownered
I Bought a Brand New Tire on end of Oct from Mavis, Tire insurance taken at the time of purchase, next day I received a survey call from Mavis, I gave my opinion that every one was nice except I felt I have been charged over price for the tire.
Middle of Nov unfortunately the same tire exploded again, I went back for replacement, as store manager saw me start yelling that why i express my opinion against the store tire price and got excited, took tire from me gave me one month run around that tire is not available.
See the picture that store manager kicking the tire to show his hostility
after a month on 18 Dec returned my tire by making excuse that i am pulling a fast one and trying to replace the tire which has no insurance.
I try to make a point that why you have not told me upon taking tire a month before, and gave me a run around almost a month.
Left upset and felt humiliated, and penalized to express the feeling about store on the Mavis Company Survey.
type Mavis tire and you find million complaints

i think if the guy saw that the wheel on left side has new wheel weights on it being serviced recently it should be a no brainer on whose it pulling what. thread wear on the old tire verses a new one again being only a few days of service. it to me is as simple as that. hope this was helpful to who ever reads this.
service stinks
Mavis was a good company when they first opened. Tires at a good price. Now you go in for tires and they come over to you with a list of things that they say your car needs. They call it a "Safety Check" I call it a fleecing of your pockets. My truck was at my service station that I use and was shown that there was a bubble on my tire and it should be replaced so they can finish the due inspection. I said to my mehcanic that I will bring it to Mavis because I have purchased tires from them several times with good results. Well not this time. the so called mehcanic came over with a list of things that were wrong with my truck. I said to him "I came in for tires not an safety inspection" And then he got pissed off at me that I questioning his knowledge. I trust my mehcanic, he's a family friend, and if I thought he was wrong I have two family members that are mehcanics. Sell tires they good at that, now they just want to rip you off.

I had an alignment and balance done on 3/19/12 on 4/7/12 my ball joint broke. Upon having my car repaired i mentioned to the mechanic that i had just had a alignment done and he said I dont know how they did an alignment with =out seeing how loose this ball joint was. I drive to work everyday on a highway at 70 miles an hour thank god it did not happen then. Either they never did the work or the person who did the alignment was not qualified. I weill be contacting the attorney general due to the possibility of severe injury or worse due to neglect or unqualified mechanics. I also spoke and showed two licsensed mechanics and they had the same resoponse
To make a long story short, this place stinks! i spent almost $600 to get 1 tire fixed! they do not assume their responsibility. I know it sounds crazy to believe, even for me.
