washing machine
I bought this machine it hAs been only about 3-4 months and it is giving me so much hard time. Most of time the machine takes about 3 hours to run a cycle and once the cycle is finished the clothes are still ditty.I called Maytag and they told me "you should use the "he" soap. So I purchased that soap and still I am getting the same results. I called them again and the representative the spoke to, was rude to me and she hung up the phone. So I never bother to give you call back. Today, a friend of mine told me about the complaint Center. It is ridiculous that even though Maytag is a big company but their washing machine sucks! Please kindly find me a solution to this machine. I can't bear it anymore. We are having tough time with it. If there is possibility that I can exchange my machine with another one, I'll do it, but please for goodnesssake take this machine away. If I do not get a response, I will not hesitate to leave bad rating about the machine and the company itself .
Thank you
Will really appreciate if someone responds me

I have similar unpleasant experience with Maytag. I bought a Maytag washing machine MVWB765FW0 from Lowes in Calgary in mid Feb 2018. I was assured that I will have a 5 years parts/labor warranty and 10 years warranty on drive. When the machine came, the warranty was only for 1 year. I called Lowes, and they sent me a picture of the floor model with a board clearly saying that it is on 5 year p/l warranty. I then downloaded a copy of warranty from Whirlpool. ca website, which also said a 5 years p/l warranty. I bought the Maytag model, which is more expensive than other comparable models, because of the 5 year p/l warranty. Maytag. ca tried to deny that though I have all the documents. They have to honour what they offered, or I will go to our Better Business Bureau to make a complaint.
Hi Joe. Appreciate reading your concerns. The Maytag washer you've chosen its a wonderful product you're sure to enjoy. It is, however, back by a one year part and labor warranty and a ten year part warranty only on the drum and motor. Per the owners' manual:
FIRST YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (PARTS AND LABOR) For one year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is installed, operated, and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Maytag brand of Whirlpool Corporation or Whirlpool Canada LP (hereafter “Maytag”) will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship that existed when this major appliance was purchased, or at its sole discretion replace the product. In the event of product replacement, your appliance will be warranted by the remaining term of the original unit’s warranty period. SECOND THROUGH TENTH YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (DRIVE MOTOR AND WASH BASKET ONLY - LABOR NOT INCLUDED) In the second through tenth years from the date of original purchase, when this major appliance is installed, operated, and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Maytag will pay for factory specified parts for the following components to correct non-cosmetic defects in materials or workmanship in these parts that prevent function of this major appliance and that existed when this major appliance was purchased. This is a limited 10 year warranty on the below named parts only and does not include repair labor.
Hopefully this clarifies any misconceptions.
refrigerator
Seriously! I remember when they used to last. Mine is only 4 years old and this...
How to Fix a Maytag Fridge's Freezer Leakage
Your Maytag fridge has an automatic defrost system that melts the ice from the freezer coils. As the ice melts, it drips to the bottom of the freezer, exits through a drain and collects in a drain pan beneath the body of the refrigerator where the heat from the condenser and motor evaporates the water. Occasionally, the drain and drain line can freeze, causing water to begin to accumulate in the bottom of the freezer and begin to leak from the freezer onto the kitchen floor. Melting the ice from the drain will fix a Maytag fridge's freezer leakage.
Hi Pamela. Appreciated reading your concern.
Maytag produces a really decent fridge/freezer system. I have one from their product line in my very own kitchen. I believe I can help you fairly easily. If you'd like the assistance, drop a response to this post. There's got to be too many people who just drop a complaint on the site and never check back, so I won't spend the time unless you're interested. If you would, leave me the actual model number of the unit you own.
Hope I can be of assistance.

I bought the Maytag washer about 18 months ago, and the metal sheet inside the washer is ripped open and one of the baffle broken. I call The Birck and they told me I didn't buy the extend warranty so they can not help me and told me call technician to fix my washer. So I call few technicians to come and repair it, but they all said it product quality problem.
maytag washing machine - bgh electronics for repair
Purchased machine in April 2017. Have had problems with clothes not getting clean. In trying to identify if something I was doing was the problem, changing what clothes I washed together, changing detergents, I found my clothes would only appear clean when using the deep water wash. My dark clothes came out with a white residue. A pair of my jeans came out with the original dirt on them, only wet.
I contacted Maytag for the repair and they assigned BGH Electronics to do my repair. BGH made an appointment for February 2, 1018. They called that day and said there was "no way anyone can get out there today". A technician called me back the next week and asked a few questions. He said he had to order a "clutch" and would call me when it came in.
After a week, I called to get an update. No call was returned. I called again and no response. After several calls through the week, I heard nothing. I called Maytag customer service and was told they can't change to a new service company once one has been assigned. She also told me that if the technician would call with the part number it would be expedited to him. I left this message and no response. Late last week I had a voice message on my home phone to call them. I had left my cell for them to call. So I missed the call. I called, got the same voicemail as every time I've called. To date I have had no return contact. I called again today and left another message asking for an update and reiterating they could have the part expedited. To date, there has been no visit to my house to even see what the problem might be.
I purchased this washing machine with hopes it would be high quality. I have discovered it is not. In less than a year, it isn't working properly, there is definitely something wrong with the quality in manufacturing. I not only have the warranty that came with the machine, I purchased the extended warranty. Now I'm stuck with a defective machine with no quick resolution because of a policy with Maytag that they will not reassign the case to another technician. I can't resolve it be returning the washer. I have nothing positive to say about the Maytag product or the warranty service provided.
I feel a proper resolution at this point is a return and refund of the machine. If not, the least is a replacement machine. I don't feel confident in the product when it doesn't last a year without needing repairs. I waited some time before calling for repair hoping that I would find what I was doing wrong. I don't like that the clothes are not at least covered with water when they are washing. I don't see how they can get clean without a sufficient amount of water. It is high efficiency, but there has be a enough water to wash the clothes. The noise and shaking of the machine is unrealistically loud.
It is extremely unfair that a product can leave a storeroom floor and not be returnable within a period of time. How do you know if it is going to work properly or meet your expectations without trying it out.

We thank you for your review, and are sorry to hear of the concerns you're having with your Maytag® Washer. We'd like to follow up with you regarding your concerns. Please email us at Maytag_Reviews@Maytag.com with your name, phone number, address, model/serial number and date of purchase as well as the website you were contacted on so we may do so. Please include a brief description of your concerns in your email. Thank you Maytag® Social Media
Hi Judy. Appreciate reading your concerns.
Your concerns questions the way a washer possibly clean without a great deal more water. The answer is relatively simple -- instead submerging the laundry in a tub of water, the laundry is cleaned pumping the water continuously over the clothing. It's the equivalent showering versus bathing. Because of energy efficient regulations, older styled washers no longer exist.
I'd like to help further. Can you provide the date of purchase and from where the purchase was made?
I did mention purchase date of April 2017. It was on the 17th from Lowe's. When there is no water visible at all, there is a problem. I watched my clothes move around tub and could see no water. When I took the items out, they were not all wet. My previous washer was high efficiency. The amount of water was visible in with the clothes. My main concern is that the clothes do not come out clean. I have been saving some of the items I put through the washer that did not wash properly. My dark clothes come out with a large amounts of white stuff on them. I use a clear on blue liquid detergent, not a powder. I've tried changing 3 times with no change. I have a pair of jeans that still have the dirt of them. It is a large amount of dirt that didn't wash and barely was damp when I took them out of the washer. It was where I could use the deep water wash and have enough water to clean my clothes. Yesterday, this setting did not fill the same as it had been and that load did not come out clean. Some of those where lightly damp as if they had been up against something wet but not actually making contact with the water. Other parts weren't even damp. I understand the cleaning process of the HE machines and see the advantage. I appreciate your response.
Appreciate the additional information.
As simple this may sound, how about checking the water valves behind the washer, making sure they're on? Then check the hoses, after turning the valves off, to make sure nothing is clogging either of them.
One additional question: what model is this unit?
The valves are as they should be. I will try the hoses again.
Model # MVWX655DW1
Serial # C712 45038
That's a quality model. You shouldn't be having problems. Let us know about the hoses.
maytag freezer
I purchased a freezer april 2016 and it has gone out! I have had a technician out to my house 4 times, which between my wife and I we had to take days off of work! And it is still not working! I called maytag today and they said that there is nothing that they can do! I think this is highly unacceptable and I will never ever purchase anything from maytag again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to never purchase any of your products!
I find it very disturbing that you won't do anything as the freezer is not even 2 years old!
Horrible service

Hi Dillon. I appreciated reading your concerns. I'd like to help if I can.
What is the model number of the actual unit you purchased? Where did you purchase it from? Did you elect to purchase any additional warranty coverage with the unit?
Look forward to hearing from you.
washer 10 year warranty
I purchased a washer from Aaron's in May of 2015. When I contacted Maytag to inquire of my 10 year warranty, I was advised that the warranty only covers the motor and the tub. However, I was not advised of this upon purchase. I spoke with 3 different customer service representatives, and they were not helpful or polite. I will not purchase any more Maytag products nor will I recommend them to any of my family or friends. Maytag is only out to get your money, and they are not here to help once their shoddy product breaks.

Gaynell I did the same things year and was never told about the extended warranty. My door wont latch to my dryer and there are two strings sticking out of it. I called for someone to come out and look out it through Maytag they never came out! So I put a chair in front of the door to keep it closed. Now I come home and SOMEHOW my lint door and is coming off with clothes wrapped around it and 2 metal pieces sticking out like what the hell is going on with @Maytag

Hi Gaynell.
Appreciated reading your concern and would like to help. I'd like to confirm a few things with you to make sure we're on the same page however. Maytag does provide a 1 year, limited warranty on all their dishwashers. This is covered in detail within the owner's manual. There's a badge placed upon the front of the dishwasher advertising "Maytag's 10 year LIMITED PARTS warranty." Beneath this stamp it should clearly display "Motor and Tub." Is this all correct?
If this is the case, I fail to see where the manufacturer has done anything wrong. Generally when you purchase such an appliance, you have the option to purchase extended service guarantees. Some people care about this issue; others do not. Maytag, being part of the Whirlpool family of products, is an easy brand to have serviced.
I was delivered a damaged dishwasher.
I picked out and paid for a Maytag dishwasher to be delivered to my house. The delivery was scheduled for January 15, 2018. Upon delivery the installers reported that I needed a new shut off valve(even though I had a plumber come out prior to the delivery and stated that everything was fine for the hookup.) So, the delivery /installer men put the dishwasher in my basement still boxed up and wrapped. I signed that they left the dishwasher in my basement, not knowing I had a damaged Maytag product. No one unboxed it or unwrapped it and I did not think I was the one doing the inspection as I trusted Maytag to have a product that was not damaged and not hold the customer responsible for their damaged product. The delivery personnel came back on January 15th and when unboxing it and installing it noticed that is had two dents in the door. So, I said" are you going to take it back" and they said no you can call and in 48 hours and they will schedule someone to come and replace your dishwasher. So on Feb 5th when the next person comes out to assess the situation, it is reported that I will get a new door. I don't want a new door, If I wanted to replace parts I would if got a used dishwasher. I followed instructions that I was given and also trusted Maytag to have a undamaged product and now no one will take responsibility and blames each other and me for not taking the dishwasher out of the box and wrapping and inspecting it. I strongly believe that I should not be punished for Maytag delivering a damaged product and it should be replaced. I also strongly believe that it is ridiculous how much time I am spending on this and how no one will take responsibility and want to blame it on me because of some technicality that I did not know about. So, I need to know the grievance process and the next step to take if it is not resolved here. I don't want this to continue to happen to others. Thank you and I look forward to a reply.
What? I know exactly whom I purchased it from and when. The damage did not take place in my home and Maytag should take responsibility for their damaged product. I am not resisting anything, I am demanding that I receive the service/product that I paid for and hopefully prevent this unfair scenario from happening to someone else. I don't consider my emails complaining, It's called having a voice and demanding that my purchase of a new dishwasher be honored. It is really pretty simple. And thanks for your concern of" washing your own dishes", which is the least of my worries. Please do not email me again as I have found your "assistance" most unhelpful and really just trying to point the finger at someone else instead of the manufacturer of the product.
And I checked, Maytag makes Whirlpool dishwahers, just an important FYI. If you are not willing to take back your damaged dishwasher and give me a new one that I have already paid for, just let me know so I can take the next step.
The delivery paperwork that has the model number on it says Maytag. and the issue has not been resolved.
I tried the Maytag email that you gave me and all that comes up is a Lowes's retail ad. So, can you send the link. My information is Barb Kuchta, 3512 SW McDanial Ave. Blue Springs, MO 64015. Cell phone number is [protected] and best time to call is Mondays or after 7:00pm
Model number is -WDT730PAHZ
Serial number is -F80184618 if not 4618 then it is 4818 Too small to read and in a very unreadable place on the dishwasher. Thanks for your assistance'
Thank you for your response, and I want to emphasize that the damage did not happen in my possession. The delivery people set it in my basement and it was not touched until they returned to install it. The dishwasher was damaged while not in my possession. And I am being held accountable on a technicality that is unfair to the consumer. I will email you the other information. Thanks for your reply.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi Barb. Just wanted too make sure you were being helped properly.
From your response, or lack thereof, it appears that the dishwasher is NOT that of a Maytag brand. It may or may not even be a Whirlpool brand. That's okay. Anyone make mistake.
Contract your retailer. It sounds like the problem is, at least, resolved from any Maytag issues. Please keep us informed of any updates.

Hi Barb.
I'm so sorry. I understand that you're just trying to fight for what you want.
I've got a couple of questions which, I would hope brings us closer to a resolution.
First, what brand name is actually on the DISHWASHER? We've been addressing this as a Maytag dishwasher all this time but, as you're started, a model WDT730 is itemized upon your receipt. This really is a Whirlpool dishwasher. Can you look at the dishwasher and tell me the brand on the product? Along that same line, what material is INSIDE THE DISHWASHER? Is the interior STAINLESS STEEL or PLASTIC? This will help identify what you have.
Second, have you contacted Home Depot about the problem? What was their response?
I really do want to get you helped. But we need the provided information.
Hi Barb.
It really is good to hear from you again.
My purpose is not to hinder, but to aid in providing necessary information.
With that in mind, let me begin by respectfully correcting some bad information you've been provided.
Maytag does NOT build Whirlpool products; it's actually just the opposite. Whirlpool is the parent company to Maytag.
Further, it's important to clarify model discrepancies. The WDT730 is absolutely a Whirlpool model. Whatever the receipt is that you have, it's not the correct receipt for a Maytag dishwasher.
It's important to clarify that the dishwasher is in no way mine; currently it's yours and provided by the retailer. The receipt you have is inconsistent with the merchandise you're describing. All of this is why it is so important to work with the retailer. Resisting such as option, only establishes further questions.
With absolutely all respect, your 'next step' seems very apparent; get the dishwasher your currently have installed and the face replaced. My concern is, by not acting upon the offer, the offer may not continue. There's no way of determining where the damage took place and, with an inconsistent receipt, when and from whom you purchased it from. The alternative? Keep resisting going through the retailer, keep complaining and let the box collect dust -- all the while washing your own dishes.
Hi Barb.
Glad the problem has been / is being resolved, at least as far as this post is concerned. There is an issue, however, the WDT730 is NOT a Maytag dishwasher. It is a Whirlpool dishwasher.
Kuchta, we apologize for your experience. We would like to discuss this further with you. Please email us at Maytag_Reviews@Maytag.com at your earliest convenience with your name, address, a phone number and best time to reach you along with your model and serial number.
Hi Kuchta.
Appreciated reading about your concerns. Who was the retailer you purchased the dishwasher through?
Home Depot, Blue Springs MO
Appreciate the reply Kuchta.
Maytag did not "deliver" your dishwasher. It was Home Depot's responsibility to do so. It's difficult, if not impossible to state exactly where the damage to the door front occurred. It may have been from the manufacturer, retailer or after it was in your own possession. This is cosmetic in nature and not something that falls within any warranty coverage. In order to change out the entire unit, including the serial number, you need to contact the retailer; in this case, Home Depot in Blue Springs. Every retailer has its own way of handling exchanges such as this. Some, unfortunately, will require you keep the product as it was previously signed for.
If you've found an avenue whereas you can get the face swapped out, that really is an excellent solution. It also helps being charged, needlessly, for installation service calls which aren't being completed.
Hopefully this provides some insight. Please let us know if it doesn't provide the needed solution.

To whom it may concern:
We purchased this washer from Home Depot on June 30th, 2016. I have contacted Maytag who did have someone come to my home to look and make sure everything was working properly, they did confirm they could not see any issues with it. We purchased the Washer and the mathching Dryer. I purposely bought a very large capacity one because of our large family. My clothes do not come clean, the washer basically just moves the clothes, what I consider not to be enough to get my clothes clean. I have tried washing less clothes, which defeats the purpose of a large capacity washer. I don't find there is enough water in the machine to adequately clean. We have clothes come out dirty after the wash. I find it very frustrating when I purchase a washing machine at the cost of $599.00 and I feel it is very unhealthy that we can't get our clothes clean. I would like to get some kind of rebate to purchase a different machine. I have purchased Maytag products in the past that have worked very well, this machine does not!. Please help. I am use to having a washer for atleast 5-10 years and this one I consider to be the worst machine I have ever had.

This washer has been a piece of junk since the day we bought it, first of all I hate the new technology I would take my 13 year old whirlpool over any of this new junk they are selling. The washer is 2.5 years old they have already replaced the circuit board and the wash plate, 6 months later its broke again they will cover the parts not the labor well the labor is $120 if it stops at the who wants to dump $200 into a washer they can't stand and continues to break when I can buy another one brand new for $399 makes absolutely no sense so keep adding to the landfills with then junk you are producing with no customer service to help you get into something that actually works. Whirlpool was a good company Maytag ruined for you! Sorry!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi Susan. I'd really like to try and help you.
The model of washer you're referring to is designed to wash laundry in high efficient design. This design does offer many benefits but also, admittedly, some drawbacks; especially if you're use typ the older, more traditional design.
If it isn't working correctly, I'd like to help you getting it working again. When and from where was the unit purchased?
Whirlpool now owns Maytag. Maytag parts ARE TESTED TO TWICE THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE SIMILAR WHIRLPOOL EQUIVALENT.
The Whirlpool model you may be interested in is WTW4616F. However, for similar pricing, you can purchase the heavier built Maytag MVWC565F. It has a bigger tub that is also stainless. Frankly, of you really want something that runs well and will generally be longer lasting, consider a Speed Queen. You'll pay twice the price, but you'll likely find it exactly what you're after. Buy from someone that offers reasonably priced and well backed extended warranties, just in case.
Please let us know what you decide.
dishwasher
The dishwasher is leaking and when I looked it up online, apparently tons of people are having the same problem with this specific model. I reached out to Maytag chat and was told they can't help me, that I need to pay a service technician at $85 to find out what's wrong with THEIR machine. I asked about a recall and was told they have no flags about any problems with this machine. They obviously don't listen to their customers or they'd see there are tons of complaints about this model. Terrible customer service and quality of products. Not a company that stands behind their products. Will never purchase Maytag again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi Cam. I'd like to help.
What is the exact model and what is its age?
If this is a significantly older model, you're likely to see a lot of people experience leaks because all pumps will eventually do so. The same will apply to any other brand as well.
If this isn't the case, however, we'd like to know.
maytag front load washer 24" mhwc700yw serial number cd62228005
THE WORST -MADE IN CHINA. My first machine broke 1.5 years after delivery. No parts in the US. Had to wait six weeks for a new maytag replacement. I purchased the unit around 1-1-16 and had it replaced with a brand new Maytag5/31/17. Now less than one year later the same malfunction is occurring with the machine. I believe its in the door clasp which is not making contact thereby not engaging the machine to run.
On the second washer I bought a three year service plan. What a waste of time. No on at Whirlpool answers. I have been on hold now for 55 minutes.

Hi. We're here to help. Its the extended plan directly through Whirlpool/Maytag or is out through the retailer?
maytag washer 2000 series
We purchased this washer 3 years ago. We had an old GE top load washer for 20years that we never had any issues with, but thought it was time to upgrade to new more efficient technology. We chose Maytag brand for the name and notoriety. However I have to say that we are disgusted with the product. We have spent more money repairing this machine, than we did purchasing it. Between circuit board malfunctions, draining issues ( not spinning out all of the water leaving sopping wet laundry), leaking, electrical connection issues within the machine itself, buttons stopped working, the list goes on. The longer we keep this machine the more it malfunctions, and the less amount of laundry we are able to put in it at one time. (We are down to being able to wash 1 tshirt, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of socks, 1 underwear together in one load- any more than that and the machine malunctions). Not to mention we have to press the start button on average 15 times before it will start- this is even after having this issue prior and having it repaired. This machine is horrible! We will NEVER purchase another Maytag appliance ever again and we will be sure to not recommend the brand to anyone we know.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I'd like to be able to help you Mr. Warren. It would be helpful to provide some additional information. Where did you purchase the unit from? Did you purchase any form of an extended service agreement? What is the exact model number of the unit?
Look forward to hearing from you.

I have had this Maytag Bravos machine for four months. I bought it when my previously owned Maytag Bravos machine broke down after only five years. Well, this machine also quit working. It stopped mid-cycle, full of water and laundry. When I called Maytag to have the machine serviced, since it is still under warranty, I was told to expect a technician the next day, between 6 am and 2 pm. I waited all day; no one showed up. I called Maytag, told them that I thought the problem was the control board, and so when the technician came, could he please bring the needed replacement part. The next day, a technician did show up, although without any replacement parts. He told me that I needed a new control board for the machine. Yup, that's what I had told Maytag. It is now a week later, and the technician just left...the replacement control board he tried to install is apparently faulty. All I know is that the machine still has not been repaired. A new part has been ordered, and "maybe" the machine can be fixed four or five days from now. That's two weeks without a working washing machine. These Maytag products are junk, the replacement parts seem to be junk, and it takes forever to get a problem fixed. I am very unhappy with this machine, so I would suggest to anyone, do not waste your money on Maytag...it is not the company or the product it used to be.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Actually, I like Maytag and their entire line of washing machines. Unfortunately, anything can break. Did you contact the retailer you purchased the merchandise through?

I would never buy another Maytag anything. This is the worst customer service/repair.
I have had the repairman out three times and each time they do not have the part on their truck. It has to be special ordered. Please in a world of amazon I don't believe it. Each time it has been 2 week waiting on the repairman and another 4 weeks waiting on a part and another week waiting on them to come and fix it. Then it breaks again and I repeat the same thing over and over.
First of all Maytag is not standing behind their products or this would not be a repeat problem. They need to monitor the repairs after the purchase and make sure the products that they sell are working. OR DO THEY THINK THAT THIS WILL NOT PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. If you work for Maytag take my advise and find another job. This company doesn't care about you if they don't care about the products that they are putting on the market.

last only 7 years as the motor is now gone
For this HE top load washer (MVMB850WR), we paid $1, 130 (13% tax incl) on March 14, 2010 from The Brick, plus purchased the extended warranty. To my astonishment, this new maytag (known brand name) top load washer's motor is gone in only 7 years. I have now bought another maytag basic washer but the new model now has a 10 year warranty on the motor which leads me to believe that your company recognizes there are likely issues with the washer's motor. I believe, there should be compensation to my failed washer's motor.
Thanks for the contact information. I have tried and unfortunately I was put on this forever music "wait". Is there an alternative method to contact the Canada team"

Not enough water in machine to wash clothes, which do not come out clean. Called Maytag & they sent a service man who switched out the panel since it was under warranty but would not address the holes in clothing. However, no one wants to address the machine is eating clothes (even on the delicate cycle). Please don't tell me I don't know how to load a machine as I've always separated types & colors my entire life. This machine is eating ALL of my clothes and putting pin holes in the fabric. I counted over 60+ clothing articles that are now ruined. If I want to keep my blouses I cannot put them into this washer. It is not economically feasible for me to replace ALL of my work clothing and Maytag needs to address this issue. I cannot be the only person experiencing this. The serviceman checked for defects in the stainless steel drum and of course, there are none. The only thing I believe is when the water drains it is pulling the fabric through the small holes and ripping it in the spin cycle & the lack of water doesn't help. The material starts with several pin holes and then progresses. I need to replace this machine and hope that Maytag will refund my money. These machines are expensive.
Really!
Purchase 3/21/2017; Home Depot / Did not purchase extended coverage.
I understand they are suppose to use less water and be energy efficient however the clothing is being beat up in the wash and the majority of my new blouse that I have purchased are now with holes. What does showing your clothes mean versus that of bathing? The washer provides maybe 2" of water in the stainless steel tub and clothes are getting holes in them. I know it is the washer because I hang my blouses to dry so therefore cannot blame it on the dryer. The clothes do not even have enough water to clean them. The serviceman that Maytag sent changed out the panel that is suppose to control this. No change.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Really! You've spoke of a couple of issues which indicate the problem MAY be the way in which the washer is being used. This is not necessarily unusual in that most of today's washers fuction completely different from those of yesteryear.
To begin with you were surprised as to see the rather small amount of water being used, feeling that only with extra water your garments would get clean. Maytag washers now support a cycle called PowerWash. This cycle does use extra water, heat and wash action to clean, BUT IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR DELICATE ITEMS.
In addition, you've indicated that you prefer to air dry your blouses. Some may think that spinning out these items at higher RPMs aid in the drying process, but in fact, can more easily damage delicate garments.
Taking both these concerns under consideration, you may find it helpful to change your wash habits or invest in a different type of washer. If you choose the latter, you'll also want to consider trading out your dryer as you'll want a firm of dryer capable of handling the kind of wash load a traditional washer might put out.
Again, I'm truly honored to help assist you!
Hi Ms. Billiot.
Appreciated reading your complaint. If you would, please supply a little more information. When was the unit purchased? From where was it purchased? Did you purchase the unit with extended service coverage?
These newer units do work differently than most older systems. They are required to be more energy efficient and thereby use less water. The cleaning method is more akin to showing your clothes versus that of bathing.
Look forward to hearing back from you.
Why can't Maytag address the issue and not ask questions with questions?
Hi Ms. Billot.
Ironically I appreciate your question about questions. Questions are generally used to garner more information than is originally supplied. In this case, to hopefully reach a preferred outcome.
I apologize for my initial "typo." The line should have read showering versus that of bathing. Most newer units use less water, pumping the water over the fabrics to be cleaned. This has both benefits as well as drawbacks. The biggest drawback is overall longer wash times, although with higher RPM for final spin out, drying times are drastically reduced, along with better fabric upkeep.
This leads us to your potential problem. You should drastically reduce the spin out speed on anything delicate. Not doing so MAY lead to the problem you're describing.
Ultimately you may decide that the high efficient design is not for you. Although all washers are now required to be rated H.E. some use a crossover design that allow simulation of the older wash style. MAYTAG creates some great washers such as this.
If you'd like to have your washer looked at by an authorized service technician, contact the Home Depot you purchased it through. They'll be glad to direct you to such a service center.
Thank you so much for reaching out for support. We're delighted to be of help.

This is the worst washer I have ever owned. I have always bought maytag and it use to be the top product in the business, but with this water saving piece of junk the name has went to the bottom. It doesn't clean. Bottom line. I have had this thing almost 2 years, I thought I would get use to it. The only setting that clease is bulky sheets, my water bill has nearly doubled. The repair people have been out here 3 time. The last one said that is the way it works. He told us no one likes them and they don't clean. Does anyone know of a class action law suite? This is a huge consumer rip off. Don"t buy a maytag!
Maytag Bravos are very decent washing machines. They garnish many positive reviews. The issue you might be referring to is the newer "high efficient" design of washing machines within the entire industry.
The design of washing machines are now regulated through the federal government. They are required to use less water while being able to still clean correctly. They accomplish this using a "showering" design compared to the "bathing" design of yesteryear. There are models of washing machines which mimic the older designs, but only under certain settings. Maytag Bravos do have such models within their line.
If possible, please supply the model number of your actual washer. Knowing which one it is, I may be able to guide you in the unit's use, thereby getting it to work more like your traditional.
Look forward to hearing back from you.

I have already made a complaint about this inferior product and I received a notice from Maytag wanting more information. This washer is just a pile of junk as is evident by all the comments of other unlucky people who happened to purchase this machine. The water leveling-temperature control switch will go bad and start to agitate before any water runs into tub. You may run the risk of tearing out the transmission or even running the washer over with water on your floors. Then if you are lucky enough to get through the spin cycle, it runs more water to get your clothes all wet again. When I got the chance to talk to the Maytag representative, I just happened to be sitting in front of my commuter, looking at all the hundreds of complaints others had already made. She denied that this problem even existed. She offered to give a discount on new washer, call a service person to fix my washer at my expense. I know there is not much else an unlucky owner of this piece of trash can do to get Maytag to take responsibility for making this product good. I do however think that all owners of these defective washers should let Lowes, Home Depot, and other large retailers know that you will no longer buy these appliances from them unless Maytag makes some amends.
Hi Frankie.
Appreciate reading your concerns on this washer. I've got a considerable amount of background and can state that this model is actually pretty decent. It has sold a considerable amount although it's an older model and still no longer within the industry.
Unfortunately even good products can break. It's frustrating I know.
Did you purchase any form of extended warranty coverage on the unit?
horrible customer service and follow up, weeks maybe a month to get a repair under warranty
I bought a brand new Maytag refrigerator in August and it completely broke! It stopped cooling in both the refrigerator and freezer and defrosted all of my food in one day. Resulting in a loss of over $250 in food.
The worst part of this entire experience so far has been dealing with Maytag/Whirlpool and their customer "service" to get it repaired. I originally called first thing Saturday morning (the fridge had broke Friday) and had to wait to call back Monday morning when they were opened. They scheduled me for the following Friday with a local subcontractor to come fix it and told me i would get a call from the subcontractor with a specific time. When I called the subcontractor on Thursday after not hearing anything yet they told me they don't work on "no cools" and had sent the work order back to Whirlpool days ago.
We had to call and get scheduled again with a new subcontractor (luckily the sales rep i originally purchased it from helped to call so i didn't have to sit on hold for another 30 mins during my work day). This subcontractor told us it would be weeks before they could come out and finally agreed to squeeze us in after my husband called an pleaded. They sent a rep last Wednesday 12/13 who told be he didn't have the part to do a diagnostic but he'd try to fit me in Saturday. However Saturday came and went with no call and when I called first thing Monday morning they told me they couldn't schedule him to come out again until Friday 12/22.
Friday will make 3 weeks with no refrigerator or freezer in my home and who knows if the tech will even fix it that day. Plus I'll have to take more time off work to be home for the appointment. We both work full time and have small children, we don't have time to spend weeks and hours on an appliance that is less than 4 months old. We are supposed to have guests over the holidays but with no way to keep food cold it's looking like we'll have to cancel those plans. This experience has been a nightmare and I would have never bought this product or brand if I knew how horrible the customer service and response time would be to fix a brand new appliance.

Hi ARitt.
No question that having a fridge break down that soon is frustrating. The issue is that even good products can break and Maytag is exempt from that fact.
Realize that the fridge really isn't 'new.' It hasn't been since the day it was delivered, unfortunately that doesn't lessen the frustration. You briefly said you spoke to the salesperson you bought it through. Did you check if there was any more they might be able to assist you with?
Dear ARitt:
