Maytag broken washing machine

A & E Factory Repair company was scheduled to repair my Maytag washing machine on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 between the hours of 1pm to 5pm. Around 3pm A & E called and canceled and no explanation was given to me. A & E rescheduled the repair for today, Thursday, December 4, 2008 and the hours were 8am to 12pm. No technician came out nor did one called. I called at 11:10 to see if the technician was on the way. I was told that he was running late and that he would call me to inform me as to when he will be coming. I called back at 1:l10, 4:08 and was given the same story. At 4:22 I knew that no one was coming out, so out of frustration I called A & E and asked if they would extend courteously and send a technician out tomorrow morning to repair my washing machine especially due to the fact that they didn't come out on Wednesday nor today--- but I was told NO.
A & E is very unreliable, undependable, discourteous. And they don't care for there customers in the Bronx.

Maytag dishwasher is junk

Bought a Maytag Quiet Series 300 at Home Depot. Worked okay but a year and a half it died. The problem is in the power switches. I am an engineer by proffession. I should have done some research before I bought it - but hey, our last dishwasher lasted 15 years and it still worked when I replaced it. Matag ought to be penalized for making crap. Not acceptable! From now on I will do my homework and Maytag will never be a part of that equation.

Mine has lasted one month. They sent out a repair person that could not fix. They order the part to fix it and they were to come back a week and a half later. Called me the AM of the Appt and said the part was backorded for 4 weeks. Recieved the wrong panel and they overnighted the same wrong panel again. Now I am on hold with maytag to get the right part sent to me. 20 minute and counting on hold.

Maytag neptune mah7500

Purchased a Maytag front load washer from SEARS in July 2005. There was always mold forming in it and a swampy stench, but thirty six months later the computer board went due to the moisture. Sears informed me that the part would be $500.00 plus whatever other parts and labour.
I refused this and started to look on the net for the computer board and found out that this is a KNOWN PROBLEM with this make and model number and also found out that this model was included in the Class Action Lawsuit against Maytag. SO WHY WAS THIS MAYTAG WASHER ON SEARS SHOWROOM FLOOR FOR SALE IN THE FIRST PLACE? When I called Sears they informed me they were unaware of this problem and said that it wasn't on any recall list and they weren't going to do anything and I should bring this up with Maytag(Whirlpool) which I did and was passed back and forth for a month until I brought the Toronto Star news paper on board and they did an artical on me and my moldy machine. It was at this point that Whirlpool came in with an offer of $500.00 for my machine; they said that due to the fact that I've had 3 years enjoyment of the machine they feel that this was a fair offer. I told them" NO" because I purchased a matching set and had not intended to have a mismatch and a fair offer would have been to give me a full refund. They told me to get in touch with them if I change my mind. I will not! As I was put through HELL, just trying to get someone to listen to me at both SEARS and MAYTAG was very difficult and found that they both use the same wording when talking about this product.
I am so MAD right now.
I'm an artist and have decided to use the moldy washer in an art installation. I'm leaving the stench and mold and will have infant clothing crawling out of the washers ### which will be seeping black ooz, beside the washer there will be an 8 foot [censored] to depicted the customer service exectutive team at SEARS and WHIRLPOOL. ( there will be a sign to inform people and tell the story) The sculpture will also be interactive for patrons to place their complaints in and I will use them in the sculpture by hanging them in the air and placeing them around the floor. I think art can have a huge voice when used properly. My sculpture is going to shout!
I think it's the fact that both SEARS and WHIRLPOOL deny accountability and deny that there was ever anything wrong with this product, this is what really makes me mad.
I have received thousands of letters regarding this product and will use them in my installation...
I have already finished the maqette and have galleries interested in displaying my sculpture, they really like the idea.
Please send me your stories or complaints and I will put them in the sculpture...
Bye for now

Sears and Maytag(whirlpool) still deny account ability and have been to this dance many times before. Both partys are well rehearsed and have all their customer service attendants repeat the same lines. Sears does not stand behind their product and do not care about quality or true customer service anymore. Maytag knew that the MAH7500 had many problems but they continued to sell them to stores even after the class action lawsuit. It wasn't a matter of if the washer broke down it was a matter of when; all the executives knew this and continued to keep this product on the market so they the executives could get their bonus while unsuspecting customers are left to fix the washer at their own expense or buy another washing machine. The executives just don't care about the human factor as long as the bonus keeps coming...
When I informed Whirlpool(MAYTAG) about all the other customers with complaints regarding the same product, the executive handeling my case informed me that "they do not put much weight on disgruntled people on the net".
I have since continued with my art project and have put the anis in the washer and have almost completed the 8 foot [censored] to stand beside the washer. The [censored] is the exectutive team at SEARS and MAYTAG; there is an engraving explaining the whole story.
The digital screen is being programed by some IS people to reflect sayings like: DON'T CALL THE MAYTAG REPAIR MAN HE DOESNT GIVE A ###!...and my favorite is : SEARS 1(800) PISS OFFF.
Art has a huge voice and following and my sculpture is going to scream " SEARS AND MAYTAG SOLD ME A PEICE OF ### " and they both knew it.

Watch for my art opening

I had the Neptune stacking unit and it was never disclosed to me about the lawsuit. When my washer quit functioning, I had a service agreement, but after 7 service calls tryting different parts and over 3 months with no washer, Sears decided they could not fix it. I was told to buy a new washer. Since m ine was a unseperable stacking unit, I had to buy both a washer & dryer. The new set was delivered by Sears and the washer failed in 24 hours. Sears would not bring me a new unit and insisted I go through the (horribly incompetent) service department again. I told them to pick the units up. Then after calling every manager I could find and writing everyone I could with Sears, I decided not to pay my Sears account where I was charged for the service agreement & remaining balance on defective washer/dryer. Now Citibank is harassing me about the balance and telling me that they DON'T CARE what Sears did or didn't do...that I OWED them because they bought the Sears accounts. All I can say is this world has gone to hell and actually NOBODY gives a ### about doing "the right thing" any more. I'm not sure many people even recognize what the right thing is. Sad. I will probably now be sued and my credit ruined and I still refuse to pay for that which I did not receive. Maytag should have pulled these units and Sears should have disclosed the problems...I would have never bought the unit if anyone had been truthful about it in the 1st place. I now have a new washer and dryer from another company and have had no problems whatsoever.

Maytag buyer beware

Maytag washer, model# SAV515DAWW crapped out on me after just 4 years, paying $500, less a $30 scratch fee. After checking out this washer online, i found out that many people had the same problem with the boot having to be replaced. we had waived our warranty because of the scratch but others had tried to get theirs repaired by repairmen only to get the run around by Maytag. Since, i found out that Maytag is now Whirlpool, so, BUYER BEWARE.

years ago i was given a Kenmore apt sized washer that hooks up to a faucet and it was about 20 years old already. Not having a washer i was happy to snap it up. After 9 years my husband replaced the pump, and we finally got a full sized washer from a jobsite he was working at and customer bought a new one... had that one for 4 years, go figure, pay full price and get less out of a new product, Maytag repairmen must be on vacation! Now i found out my dryer needs a new ignition. My luck. I am off now to post a complaint about Perfect Flame Split Lid Grill. Good luck ya all!

I bought the above Maytag refrigerator May 2004. An auxiliary motor broke today and the food was no longer being kept cold. The store said they couldn't send anyone for 3 days and referred me to the owner's son also named McNally. He came out and put in a new motor for $135 plus $55 for the service call. I then called the store's co-owner who informed me...

Hello Neptune Owners!

You can purchase the Maytag Neptune bearings and [protected] seal kit at www.neptunebearing.com and also you can rent the Tony Tool, too. The Tony Tool was designed specifically for changing the Neptune bearings and comes with a DVD that shows you how to disassemble Neptune, replace bearings and install the seal kit.

Don't spend $450 for a new outer tub! Just replace the bearings and seal.

In addition, you need to check to see if your machine has the defective door latch wax motor, [protected], before your control board gets damaged. All Neptunes that have the wax motor will fail. See www.neptunewaxmotor.com for info.

Maytag ice maker

I bought a Maytag Fridge...side by side about 8 years ago. I immediately began having problems with the ice maker. Mainly ice freezing on the "teeth", and not being able to eject the ice...it would make this noise that sounded like a geiger counter...or a really squeaky door. It was horrible. It was covered under warranty so I had it replaced. The second ice maker had the exact same problems. By that time my warranty had run out. I went on Ebay and found another brand new icemaker and installed it myself (it was exactly what I already had, still in the box). You guessed it...same problem..creaking noises, frozen ice on the teeth things. I called Maytag for the tenth time and complained...actuallly couldn't call, had to file a complaint on their website. They told me I needed to contact a Maytag service repair man. It's been an insane problem. Unbelievably annoying and Maytag could care less. As disappointing a purchase I have ever made.

Maytag less than 1 1/2 year old stove caught fire without being used

I purhcased a new Maytag stove in late summer 2007. In the early morning of Saturday October 4, my new Maytag stove started on fire! The stove had not been used since the previous afternoon and it started shooting flames up my kitchen wall! Fortunately there was a fire extinguisher nearby and I was able to put the fire out before any real damage was done to my home. I have notified Maytag, however, they have not responded. I realize I am past the 1 year warranty, but I do believe that something as serious as this needs to be addressed and I am entitled to some type of response at the very least. I am going to have to replace this stove at my own expense for something that is obviously poor workmanship in the control panel. I would think that Maytag would not want to be responsible for what perhaps in the future would be a deadly fire because of their product.

Maytag washing machine, poor service

Our 6 month old Maytag washing machine had some problems so we called the store that we bought it from for service. The first service tech guy showed up an hour and fifteen minutes late and we could smell alcohol on his breath. I watched him try to disassemble the machine using a putty knife and a pry bar. He was prying on parts of the machine that don't even come apart and had some of the spring clips flying off the machine which he did not find or replace. After half an hour of tearing the machine apart, he finds out that the company sent the wrong part. I phoned the company and told the owner about the smell of alcohol on the tech's breath and his lack of knowledge on how to dis-assemble the machine. The store owner said he would get the right part and another service tech out the next day, which he did. The next day the second service tech came out and replaced the part and left before I got home. I put a load in the machine and had to leave for town again for about two hours. When we returned, I found water all over my laundry room floor from the washing machine. On further inspection of the machine, I noticed that the machine had not been properly put back together and there was a big blood smear on the front of the machine from the service tech and the spring clip that the first guy lost was not replaced either. I then got my digital camera and took pictures of the machine to show the store owner the next buisness day. I showed him the pictures and told him that I thought that the machine might have been damaged from the improper dis-assembly and assembly and that I wanted him to replace it with a new one. He said that he could send his service techs back out to try and fix it, ( 2 days later) or if that if I wanted a new machine he would only give me $300 towards another machine if I returned my machine. I told him that this was the worst service I had ever had and told him that I wanted the Maytag Canada phone number to lodge a complaint, which he then gave me. I told him this was the first and last time that I would buy any Maytag product.

i agree the service is AWFUL, As a business its very important our appliances function just as well as our staff... we have 6 washers all brand new (within 6 months) purchased from Jacks. We have one that leaks very bad, and have had a tech come "look at it" three times to date. i am currently trying to get another tech as no problems have been fixed and or even diagnosed. im no technician but eyeballing a machine for 30 mins will NOT help you find out what wrong... if i can not have the problem resolved today we will be returning the "warrantied" machines and going a different root. Sad to say but they are ranked -10 on customer service skills... very very displeased!

As this was written in 2008 its a bunch of crap cause they have new service techs this sight needs to be updated also knowing stories of how a lot of customers can be in these situations they over exaggerate a lot because they have no patience to wait for appliance parts to come in. oh and when it comes to them being late have you ever thought that maybe the job before hand took longer then expected... ### happens!

Maytag dryer is a lemon!

Piece Of Junk!
Product/Service: Maytag Dryer
9/30/2008 Yelm WA

I purchased a Maytag dryer in October of 2005. Since then the drum has come apart. Maytag replaced the drum in January of 2008. Since then it has been burning my clothing. I called Harold's Appliance in Lacey, Washington. They never said we don't' do warranty work on Maytag's because they don't pay us. They came out and looked at the dryer and then told my daughter, "We don't do Maytag warranty work anymore because they don't pay us". Harold's Appliance then charged my daughter $90.00 for the trip out. Harold's Appliance told me I would have to call A & E to get it repaired (the drum is pulling apart again).

I called A & E (Maytag) and they said they won't do anything about it as they already repaired it once. I said, "The repair wasn't done right or I wouldn't be having to call you again". Maytag said they won't do anything about it so here I am with a piece of crap dryer, a $90.00 service call (again) and a company that won't stand behind their product.

I will never buy another Maytag product and will take every opportunity to let others know of their shoddy work and warranties.

Maytag not working properly

I bought a maytag washer that doesn't work properly and when I went the store and asked that I would like to get anther one they stated they only handle one problem at a time. I furnished my house from sears. I asked them to look at my profile and she looked at me and said it was passed the ninety days for return or refund. This saturday the washer will be serviced for the second time. They sold me a second washer that does not work and they will not take a look at the customer side of view.

Maytag poorly manufactured

Would never buy this product ever again!

We purchased our maytag neptune washer 9700 model and dryer and have had nothing but problems with it. Only 6 months after purchase we noticed the clothes with a moldy odor. We called for service. The repairman came out and blamed it on the types of detergent used (Tide and wisk/downey) and told us that the most he could do was recommend that we wash the inside of the washing machine. Hah! What a hoot! For some reason I thought I had bought the washer to wash our clothes, not for me to wash a washer... Anyhow... The clothes also come out so twisted and wrinkled that the wrinkles do not even come out in the dryer, and are so entwined in the dryer that they come out in a ball with the middle of the ball of clothes still being wet. This washer and dryer are the worst product we have ever owned and cannot say enough to keep someone else from having the same disappointment and disgust. The representatives at maytag were less than helpful and uninterested in our disappointment (Even though the product was only 6 months old) and sent us a small packet (2x3) of detergent/cleaner that we could use for our trouble of mold odor, when really the problem is that the water does not drain out completely when a load is finished, it sits under the door frame where maytag claims, there is a hole now, to help the water drain. (According to some investigation on our behalf, we've now learned that this was a problem when the machines were first introduced, and only fixed after a class action lawsuit was filed) this hole is useless, and the water still sits in the washer until the next load washes.in other words, poorly manufactured, and no one at maytag seems to care that the problem still exists.

I bought the new Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot 1 year ago. I bought the warranty thank God! I have problems with my ice maker also, it makes alot of noise and a "rattle" I had them come out and the repair man said it was the condensation line that was hitting the back side of the refrigerator, he fixed it or so he said, it continues to make the noise. A $2400.oo nightmare! Still trying to get Maytag to fix it right.

My maytag ice2o does the same thing as one of your other members. I heard incessant clicking and looked and saw the door panel was flashing and the chute kept opening and closing. Nothing in my manual addresses this problem and it is now 3:00am and I still searching for an answer. Does anybody know what is up with this. I tried pressing the alarm buttons without result. I emptied the ice maker, believing it might have been clogged. I turned off the icemaker without result. I unplugged the fridge and replugged it without result. Help!

Maytag works with a third party vendor A&E to repair their refrigerators - no such thing as the "maytag man". No this company doesn't tell you items have been recalled then try to charge you for the parts and then don't order parts to fix the problem and then don't show up for appointments thereby the consumer loses many days from work with a still defective product that they have no interest in repairing even though the ads mislead the public. I am VERY mad and will NEVER EVER buy a maytag product - I expected a lot more. My Refrigerator is still not fixed and I have no idea when it ever will be.

Design of top basket does not allow standard size bowls or desert plates to stand upright they get caught and prevent the basket from sliding out you must place your hand inside to free these items. Bottom baskets will not allow these same items to stand upright they fall over preventing the use of the entire bottom basket therefor the ENERGY SAVINGS DOES NOT EXIST as it is necessary to run a SECOND WASH USING MORE WATER AND DETERGENT I have had a Maytag dishwasher for the past 20 yrs. and never had this problem. In the future I WILL NOT BE CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF ANY Maytag appliances.

We have had a Maytag french door refrigerator for about 17 months. We have only had problems. They have put on new ice maker. They have checked the shut off value. They have put on new filter. Now we are having 3 sided pieces of ice. When you don't have ice, you have to take the tray out and hit the bar in back to break up the ice. This is stopping it from making anymore ice. The ice maker was replaceed under warranty. Now they are saying it is valve and that is expensive. They are trying to come up with price. I have called Whirlpool at [protected] since they now own Magtag and filled a claim. They show no record of the ice maker being replaced or when we bought the refrigerator. I have contacted another store to try to get help. They have a person that used to work for them and he is very good with refrigeators. He has started his own company. We have little water coming out of the front since we got it. He suggested to get a new filter. Sometimes they can be bad. We have water softner, so we don't have hard water. We got a new 40.00 filter and the problem is solved for now. We have water and ice cubes again. Yeah

Add me to the list of frustrated Maytag owners. Tomorrow will be FOUR weeks since I received the recall notice and immediately contacted the company. Like others I was told that I would receive the replacement parts in about a week.

Last week I phoned Maytag again and they couldn't even tell me whether the parts had been sent. I also e-mailed and have not received any reply. Yes, my dishwasher is 7 years old, but it was working perfectly and $75 toward another (which must be from the same company) is ridiculous.

I'm another who will never buy another Maytag appliance.

Ann.

Bought a Maytag auto sensing washer and dryer about 6 weeks ago. Last weekend, machine would not fill with water. Tried to find some answers on their website (where they want between 16 and 36 bucks for an answer), owners manual was less than helpful. We finally got a number to call for service from our local repair place but when we called for service we were informed that it would be a week before some could come out and fix our machine.
I expected better from a company that advertises based on the reliability and 'sturdiness' of their machines and then to have such slow service repair is unacceptable.
Our last machine lasted us 15 years and never needed any work; it just wore out. We won't purchase any more Maytag products in the future, they're pieces of junk and the company is slow to respond to customer needs.

I have a Admiral...from the division of Maytag...with a burnt out motor. Machine is barley two years old...has been treated very well...not overloaded...and now the motor is burnt up. Since it is out of warranty...the cost to fix it will be the same as buying a new one. No williness from Maytag to give me even a discount on a new motor. Thanks alot Maytag...no wonder the Maytag repairman has nothing to do...its cheaper to buy another appliance than fix current one.

My complaint is that Maytag has declined to honor it's warranty on a dryer purchased in January of 2017 and subsequently failed in September of 2017. Their position is that because my organization purchased it for use in a residential facility it is a commercial use voiding the warranty. The extent of repair was tightening a connection on a control board and cost $132.00.

I am paying the invoice to the repairer because, to be fair, he did the work and should be paid. Should I have to incur the expense on a nine month old dryer purchased on the notion Maytag was a quality product that represented a value to my organization? How can Maytag determine the dryer is used commercially because a non profit organization made the purchase?

Quite honestly I have used these products at other locations based on cost and brand. I have had transmissions, timers and thermal cut offs fail under warranty and repair was made in a reasonable time and were covered. Other than the inconvenience I didn't think much of it. In retrospect the products did fail, within warranty, at a rather high percentage of units purchased. Had I not encountered this issue on the most recent occurrence, I most likely would not have had cause to reach this conclusion nor would it have become a consideration in my next purchase.

I have a large family by today's standards and we do allot of laundry. My wife chose our washer and dryer and they haven't had a problem in almost 6 years, they aren't Maytag. Maybe I'll have her assist in my next purchase. Now watch I'll go home and the washer won't work.

I have 4 Maytag Products all purchased within the last 4 years and I have already had to have service on 3 of them. My stove still is not right. My dryer went out before it was even 1 year old and now my dishwasher which was purchased in June of 2017 and installed in August 2017. It has CHEAP plastic parts and now will cost me 160.86 to repair because, has the repair man put it, Maytag sets the price for labor. I remember the days when the commercials for Maytag were of Mayteg repair men doing nothing and now I have had to have 3 of my 4 Maytag appliances repair all before they were 4 years old. I am discusted and will NEVER buy a Maytag appliance again. I tried to get satisfaction from the people I spoke with on the phone and they were only willing to pay for the parts which are around 75.00. I can not believe to repair 2 PLACTIC parts would be over 240.00 to fix on a dishwasher LESS than 3 years old. I have NEVER felt so ripped off in my life and will NEVER buy another Maytag product.

I truly feel that Maytag's merge is the worst thing you could have done. Maytag used to be such an excellent product and now I have had to have 3 of my 4 Brand New Maytag appliances that I purchased for my new home repair before they were 4 years old... shame on you for selling such inferior plastic crap ! I have been married 21 years and have always had Maytag appliances... but NEVER again !

Maytag never buying maytag again!!

I thought Maytag stood for quality...NO MORE! Do not waste your money as I have. I bought 3 appliances in 2002...a Neptune washer dryer set for over $1800 and a dishwasher for over $500. The Neptune washer replaced a 30 year old washer that had earned it's right to die! In 2007 the Neptune washer (Model MAH5500BWW) motor control ciruit board died and the door gasket was badly molded...we were never notified about the class action suit on the gasket however. So to save labor, we ordered parts for $283 and installed them ourselves.

Currently, the Maytag dishwasher (Model MCD5100AWW) racks are corroding and literally falling apart. Maytag says they have no record of this problem and the racks are no longer under warranty. Cost of racks is almost half the dishwasher cost. I'm so disgusted. I think I'll be going back to handwashing my dishes and who knows...maybe there is a ringer washer in my future!

I totally agree. We have had our Neptune w/d set for several years now. We were also never notified of the lawsuit. My clothes smell bad, the washing machine literally jumps out in the floor and has ripped the linoleum. This set replaced my previous topload that was still working fine after 17 years(whirlpool brand). I will never buy Maytag again. Not sure the front loads are what I bargained for.

Maytag extreme dissatisfaction

I would like to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Maytag

service group. I scheduled service on my Maytag wash machine last week.

Service was expected today between 8AM-12PM. Now is 3:30PM... up to this time, no one show up!

Because I cannot took the day off from work, I left an adult person to be at my house waiting for this service. But this person who makes me a big favor, was wasting his time, his energy and missing work.

Why? I was told by the service company, A&E Factory Service, the serviceman would call when on their way to my home. We did not receive no such call by now (3:30 PM.)

Notes: I called A & E customer services: [protected] @ 11:30AM, @ 1:00 PM and @ 3:00 PM to see what was the status of service.

They replied that the technician serviceman scheduled was finishing a call (@Howard Beach), very close to my area and I will be next; they assure me that he will be over shortly. But the last representative (phone call 3PM) said that the technician serviceman scheduled was finishing a call, have to go TO ANOTHER CALL SERVCIE and then, will be in my house .. I did not understand! Why they accomodate another new customer before me? ... Make no sense!. I start having bad feelings and I felt suspicious.. Which customer representative was giving me the right information?

I asked to speak with a Supervisor. Jennifer picked up (with no last name because she said that for security reason she is the supervisor but is not allowed to give her last name ) Her attitude and the tone she used to explain the delay of the serviceman was terrible! She NOT ONLY doesnt care about the hours we was waiting for the service, instead, she asked me if I want to reschedule. And (heard that: she informed to me that the serviceman went now to purchase supplies at Woodhaven area and to continue later with the Howard Beach appointment; When finish, he has another client to go (call #5) and then, will be my turn!(Now I was not the NEXT customer as previously mentioned to me; Now I was the call #6, period!). AND also, she confirmed that the technician will be working UP TO 5PM... If he couldn't make it today probably I must have to reschedule.

This company doesnt care if we (as a customers) loss salaries or waste our time...

Ah! ALSO she said that this serviceman IS THE ONLY ONE they have to provide services in our town! Can you believe? What happened if the man get sick? They have Only ONE TECHNICIAN...No substitutes! Unbelieve!

This type of unprofessional and unexpected answers infuriates me! Even when not able to meet their commitment, A&E offered no apologies.
NOTE: Be sure if you need their services in the future, to be patient, do not make any other plans for the day of the appointment and... don't get upset with the situation (as I did it). There is NO SOLUTIONS available...

Maytag bad product

We purchased a basic Maytag washer in October of 2004 to replace our Whirpool, which we had for 14 years. In June of 2007, the transmission had gone out and the water seal had broken down, so it was throwing grease over our cloths. The transmission and seal was replace, but the labor was $120. A year later, the seal has failed again and the transmission needs replacing, again. This time they won't cover the seal kit, so the repair would be $200. I am not willing to throw another $200 at this machine. The repair guy said this model and other Maytags, have lots of transmission and seal kit problems. For my next washing machine, you can bet it won't be a Maytag.

I own a set of Maytag Washer and Dryer for just turning 3 year-old. The drum of dryer was cracked! I called May tag service reps and they offer nothing toward replacement of a new drum. I believe it is a major defected. It costs $260.00 for the part; labor and diagnose estimated $400. My trusted repairman recommended to replace with a whole new brand altogether. He said he is not worth fixing with this much cost. It is not only a cheap quality products but also the service people are unprofessional and helpless. It is just too bad. While researching and writing this review, I found out how bad they stand behind their products. It is going down the hill for sure!

March of 2008 I purchased a Signature Series W/D from Home Depot in Lexington SC. I paid for it with a new HD credit card. I paid off my credit card just 2 weeks ago before the intrest was applied and then two days later my Washer stopped working it would not spin/agitate . My clothes where sopping wet and covered in soap. What, was my washer hard wired into my checking account or WHAT.
I went to the Maytag Website and was told when I tried to set up an appointment for a repairman to come to my home to repair it, I was told there were no repairman appintments in my area. WHAT! But they would give me the names of some in my area that I could freaking call myself. WHAT! Is that some kinda service or WHAT! Well it gets better after I called and set up an appointment with a local repairman he came by and took my washer apart told me it was the transmission and that it needed to be replaced. Okay. he also told me that it was caused by washing rugs and quilts/blankets/comforters. Okay the goof at the store told me something different. Well after a week the part was in, PROBABLY CAME FROM MARS. A WEEK. ANOTHER GEOGRAPHICAL ODDITY. Well today my part was placed and I can now wash clothes and not risk my life at the laudry mat. I loaded my washer NO COMFORTERS/BLANKET/ QUILTS NOR RUGS MIND YOU. After the washer stopped. I opened it up ready to get to the bottom of the weeks worth of laundry of a family of four when what to my weary eyes did I see my sopping soapy wet clothes. OKAY NO MORE MAYTAGS FORM ME. GIVE ME A RIVER AND A BLAME ROCK.

Maytag service of lemon refrigerator

I am so disgusted with Maytag and their supposed customer service. I have had 5 service calls on my refrigerator between March and July, 2008, so far. The defrost mechanism on the Maytag ICE20 is faulty and continues to be so despite all pieces of said mechanism being replaced. I've had to shuttle my food between my kitchen and garage refrigerator once every 1-2 weeks, so I can defrost the refrigerator manually. Patiently, I've plodded along, telling myself the serviceman would find and fix the problem. At this point, however, it's clear that the problem is not going to be found. The refrigerator, as I've read elsewhere, is a lemon! Will Maytag declare it unrepairable? No! They need a second opinion, so they're sending out a serviceman of their choice tomorrow. And they're so proud that they put a priority on it and on the parts this time. The big question I have is will this guy actually show? The first one they scheduled didn't. I was told it was a computer problem. (Excuse my teenage response, but WHATEVER!). The bottom line is you honor your customers or you don't. Listen up, folks. MAYTAG DOES NOT HONOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. Don't be a lemon-sucker. Don't buy MAYTAG!

Maytag crap dishwasher

We purchased a Maytag Quiet Series 300 Dishwasher not quite 3 years ago. Now it doesn't drain, the control panel doesn't work and the handle is busted. Repair estimate is $370.

Is it really fair that consumers pay good money for these products and to no fault of our own have to replace a product 3 years later?

Maytag is willing to rebate 15% of the cost of a NEW Maytag dishwasher. My question is why would I want to spend a dime on a BRAND that has already proven to be a piece of crap? It is shame that Maytag cares more about their bottom line than making a quality product that lasts.

I had the same problem with my dishwasher . I will never ever buy Maytag agin it's a rip off . My best friend got a phone call from maytag they signed a contract for 15 8000$ for a/c heating central system she had 10 days to cancel her contrat with them and she canceled her contract before 10 days cause she found out that the seller was telling all ### lies that she would be saving heating cost that long term in 10 year it should come to the same amount as what she pays for the system. The bad thing is they started the work before 10 days so now she has holes in her ceramics, hardwood floors and basement walls .Now it's 15 days she is still waiting for them to come pick up their boxes and stuff that is taking so much place and to come fix the house as it was before, everytime she calls them they never return her calls now she has to look for a lawyer .it's ridiculous they haven't even called the bank to cancelthe loan all I know I my friend has 3 kids 2 of them babies and she has hardly time for herself and now she has to spend so much time and stress fixing up this hole situation cause maytad is full irresponsible. They are CROOKS
