bus driver's
I took the Mega bus from Orlando, Florida on Oct. 17, 2015 at 11 :40pm. It was my first time ever riding the Mega bus and, I thought I reserved me a seat but I didn't. I clicked back on my computer and clicked forward who and proceeded to pay for my ticket. The lady seat I was sitting in didn't say anything me until we got to Jacksonville. That is when a gentlemen whom seat she was sitting in got on the bus. Keisha one of the drivers asked him what was going on and he replied the that the in his young lady was sitting seat. She begin yelling at me get up get up I was trying to explain to her and put up my ticket but, she wouldn't give me a chance to do that. I was very embarrassed she was very disrespectful to me It's not what you say it's the way you say things. The other driver was Mr. West bus # DD537 thank you please always remember respect is do to everyone.

re: safety violations due to unqualified foreign bus driver
I would like to bring to your attention the gross negligence by one of Megabus drivers that I just witnessed on October 7 going from Washington, DC to Newark, DE, reservation number: [protected]-M21R-1700-WAS-NWK. around 7.30 pm. The bus was already late by 20 min, and the driver missed the turn approaching the University of Delaware and went on North Creek Rd. in Newark, DE (which is essentially a bicycle path where I ride my bike). The driver had poor command of English and she did not listen to my recommendations not to make a U-turn on a narrow road bordered by a creek. I also saw potential for the whole bus plunging into the White Clay Creek on several occasions - several close calls. The driver did not let me or other people out while performing a dangerous maneuver and did not let me recover my bag from the luggage compartment and to walk 1/2 mile to the bus stop. The situation was saved by a truck driver who guided our bus to safety. Should it be not his suggestion not to back up, the bus would likely to fall into the creek, resulting in multiple injuries to passengers, if not more severe consequences. As an Interim Dept. Chair at Lincoln University (PA), I am concerned about the safety of your customers, most of whom are students. Megabus must not hire underqualified immigrants who are ready to work for less. Being an immigrant myself I understand how the system works, and I want to make sure that this bus driver is fired from her job and replaced with an American citizen, a person of color, for example, who would not endanger the safety of passengers and company property.
horrible ride, over crowded and damage products
I rode the Megabus from Georgia to Washington D.C the bus was extremely overcrowded. The bus had a leak, my husband and I were rained on our computer was damage from the water leak which I was not able to repair. When I sent in my complaint to the complaint feedback the company was very rude, I had to keep calling them to complaint I was sent to many different departments just to be told they weren't refunding my money or repair my laptop. I lost over $500 dealing with this company very unsatisfied.
Hi my name is Ceri Griffiths and I and fellow travellers from the travel society (from Aberystwyth university) going from Aberystwyth to Cardiff last Saturday 19th had some unfortunate issues whilst going on the bus.
1. Unfortunately the bus had no power in the sockets for me to use my laptop and no wifi to use.
2. The health and safety of the tyres are of importance as we could smell the tyres burning.
3. Rude drivers- 2 drivers had no apology for the problems (would of been a little better if they did this (bus drivers from Aberystwyth to Cardiff at 6.35am at Aberystwyth bus station and 10.10 driver going to Penbroke Dock last Saturday 19th.
4. The bus was 8 minutes earlier than the 9.20 departure time and subsequently 16 of us had to pay for a taxi back to Aberystwyth which cost us 70.00 each, so very expensive day out.
I do hope you can help in this what should of been a lovely day and indeed what transpired that evening was a gentleman refusing to pay (obviously not your fault!) and subsequently informed the police on me.
I would like to add however, that with all these issues happening, I had in fact enjoyed the comfortable seats and also the smooth delivery of travel to a capital which created a great atmosphere to not only watch the rugby with a great Welsh spirit.
Thank you for your time in this matter and if possible ask for the cost incurred the taxi i.e. 60.00 of 16 people (receipts can be issued) and perhaps a token of i.e. 10.00 for each person for the food and drink they had to buy as it was bitterly cold that day and also waiting for a taxi company (we had to wait 5hrs for this to take us home) to ensure our safe delivery home.
Thank you.
Ceri Griffiths
bus driver
On my trip on August 21, 2015 I rode the Megabus from Indianapolis to Louisville. The bus driver was 2 hours late with picking us up. On the bus, the driver was very vocal and inappropriate. He used profanity and decided to spent majority of the trip talking on the phone. I was not comfortable nor did i feel safe, while going through construction on the e-way we were almost hit by another vehicle. As we could see he was upset and later explained he had gotten a ticket on his way to us from Chicago. Overall I didn't feel safe, he was very rude and wasn't considerate of children with his vocabulary and his driving.

skipped stop - won't give refund
Megabus switched bus to unmarked bus for Iowa City IA to Chicago, 7/31/15. They left 10 go 15 students waiting for 2 hours, and when they called for help, the service said "the bus left". Our son was waiting there and no refund was given. Even if they don't mark a bus, don't have drivers dressed as their bus drivers and don't alert there was a switch, they are not liable. It is buyer beware! We demanded a refund after buying yet another ticket. Customer service totally stinks, they say "it's my policy to hang up on your now" and when you appeal in email it is a blank response from "Samantha" that says tough you're not getting a refund. This is a complete rip off customer service event ever seen! Who are driving these buses and how are they allowed to do this?
the driver was very rude
My name is Volodymyr Tepak and I had trip from Chicago, IL to Kansas City, MO on July 27th, 2015. My reservation number was [protected]-M5R-1430-CHI-KAN. During the journey we had a stop in St. Louis. The driver asked that the people going on to Kansas City stay on the bus, but I needed to smoke so I went to the front of the bus and asked politely if I...

In March I had a shockingly bad MegaBus experience on various levels, and I've heard of similar from friends.
When I got home that night, I wrote a review of the experience, shared below.
I had a terrible experience on MegaBus on March 14, 2015. It was so bad I got home and wrote up my narrative of the experience that night. But, I couldn't find where on your site to even provide feedback.
Seeing today's photos of the Bolt Bus exploding on the highway, I recalled that the way the MegaBus I was on was managed, I wouldn't at all be surprised if MegaBuses were also spectacularly failing.
There is what seems an open contempt for passengers, and negligence in managing the buses, and passenger needs, particularly comfort and safety. The question is: what are you doing about it? Where is the media and where are the regulators?!
March 14, 2015 Megabus trip review:
Wow, the Megabus from Washington DC departing 5pm to NYC this evening was a cruel and unusual trip. First, on the lower level of the bus none of the electrical outlets were working. Ok, so that was annoying. But then, about halfway through the trip, the temperature on the bus cabin began rising to somewhere between 80-85 Fahrenheit. Everyone was either plugged into their electronic media, or passed out from the heat. I sat sweating like a pig for almost two hours before we finally stopped, about 30 minutes outside NYC, to change bus drivers. For the past hour or two I'd been observing my fellow passengers show signs of the heat: moist and glistening foreheads, people complaining to one another about how warm it was, etc. But no one seemed to approach the driver. Finally, I couldn't take it any more -- I felt like I would become ill -- and then the bus stopped. I went up to the departing driver and mentioned to him that the bus cabin was beyond uncomfortably warm, it was becoming unhealthily hot. He and the new bus driver both assured me the bus temperature was fine. In the driver's area it was fine. They showed me a dashboard temperature display indicating 65 Fahrenheit. I said that was clearly not the temperature in the lower level cabin, which was closer to 80 degrees, and invited them to take a quick stroll to experience it themselves. They both denied the possibility that the cabin could possibly be that warm, while therefore precluding the possibility that such a walk could possibly evidence anything but what they already knew. I thought that strange. Then they said I was the only person who had mentioned the heat. So, I turned around to the cabin and announced loudly that the bus drivers were sure that the cabin was 65 degrees, because that's what their thermometer system said. Did they agree?! A loud, plea rose up of "It's a sauna back here" "it's sweltering" "I'm sweating my ### off" "turn off the heat!".
The bus drivers still insisted that it's company policy, that they have absolutely no control over bus temperature, that the bus cabin temperature must be 65 because that's what their display said. Then I said they should at least open a window. They also said that the only other solution was to wait for a replacement bus, which would take a long time. So, either we shut up and take the sweltering heat, or we'd delay our arrival in NYC by at least an hour or two. This felt like some form of hellish blackmail, something out of Kafka. They also said, if I didn't like it I was free to get off the bus.
Now I saw how things were gonna go: take it or leave it (literally: leave the bus) or make the entire bus an hour or two late, but they didn't seem like they felt like they had any ability to manage the situation except to say: you're wrong and there's nothing we can do. Or, get off, or you'll simply add an hour or several to the trip.
I decided to sit down and see what happened. They opened the doors and aired out the cabin for a minute or two, which helped. By now the temperature in the cabin had come down to the mid 70s, and we shut up. The bus continued, but by the time we arrived in NYC, the temperature had almost reached the mid 80s again. When I got off the bus, I asked several other travelers who had sat on the upper level what the temperature had been up there, and they said kind of chilly, about 65 degrees.
So, to recap: Megabus drivers first deny rider's complaints of sweltering, uncomfortable temperatures. Then they deny they have any ability to manage the temperature of the bus cabin. Then they threatened complaining bus passengers that either the can get off the bus or be responsible for several hours delay in waiting for a new bus.
I wonder if any laws or industry rules and regulations were broken.
All in all, an uncomfortable, miserable ride which raised serious questions about Megabus policies, policy enforcement, driver training, and commitment to passengers comfort, safety, and respect.
When I went to Megabus.com, try as I may, I couldn't find where to make complaints. How about that for horrible customer care!
My wife and I travelled on the beautiful scenic route between Inverness and Edinburgh. The journey was spoiled by the terrible stench of piss wafting from the toilet! Not nice!
stranded.
My daughter booked for me a day return trip from Bristol to Sheffield and back. The bus was late, there was no information available, when it artived I sat in the front I have trouble walking, the air con would not turn off it was very cold. There were some road closures the driver was lost in the suburbs of Birmingham and asked a passenger to navigate with sat nav on his phone. We were told we needed fuel and pulled into a garage, then we were told there was fan belt trouble, all the time the driver kept the door open, he anounced megabus dont use the AA or any other call out emergency repair service, their own is closed at night, and my arrive in the morning, at 2.30 am we are all trying to reach family and friends . I got a lift for myself and a few others feeling awful to leave people behind, including a disabled man, again sitting in front very cold. I arrived home at 4.30 am instead of 11.40 pm. The company would not even send alternative transport, I have not experienced this anywhere in the world.

dangerous situation
My son took Megabus from Columbia Mo to Chicago. He arrived at 10:30 and his connecting bus was at 6:30 the following morning. I was not concerned because I thought he could stay at Union Terminal all night, but at 12:30 they kicked my child out onto the streets of Chicago.
Very dangerous--will not use Megabus again!
air conditioning not working
I took the mega bus from Atlanta to New Orleans on Sunday, June 29, 2014 (1:45 pm) and the air conditioning unit was not working. The outlets were also not working. The bus was filled to capacity and the whole ride was miserably hot.
This was my first time using this bus service and I am strong contemplating NOT using it again for my next trip to Atlanta in August. I was not pleased with this service at all. Everyone on the bus was complaining about the heat.
Sincerely,
Gala La Baud

misrepresentation
So they sent a rickety bus from a fleet that wasn't Megabus. No one got off the bus and said "we are going to Buffalo, I am here in place of Megabus". Rather, they left five minutes early and stranded twenty people on the side of the road in Columbus, Ohio. None of us even realized we were stranded until about an hour later because we were all calling customer service who kept saying "oh yeah, your bus is coming...call back in fifteen". By the time we realized we were stuck in Columbus it was too late to catch a train going to Buffalo or a flight. I called to get my ticket transferred. Megabus told me I had to buy another ticket. I decided I would prefer to miss a day of work and pay for another night in a hotel than patronize an organization as unscrupulous as megabus. I wish the story ended there. I have been complaining on every single social media outlet possible. I don't even care about the twenty five bucks. I care about them acknowledging that they did something really messed up to a bunch of people. Megabus contacted me via facebook and offered me a refund. I took the refund and thanked them. THEN THEY TOOK THE REFUND AWAY!
I swear to God they offered me a refund and then took it off the table immediately after. I know its hard to believe, which is why I am attaching pictures.

charges on extra luggage
I am sr. Citizen aged 68-yrs. I was travelling on ticket#[protected]-aus-hnw to houston with one extra baggage as I was to catch a plane to india. The attendant demanded I pay for the extra iluggage $25/-. I brought to his notice that the company had no such printedi policy except that "my luggage is likely to be refused". But on his insistance I agreed to pay by credit-card which he refused and insisted I pay only by cash and that too without a receipt. Because of the urgency I payed him the cash without a receipt. I immidiately lodged a complaint with megabus with full details and pointed out that in absence of a printed terms and condition on charges it was improper and their action was in violation of the law as no receipt was issued to me and they refund the amount. The entire correspondance thereafter iis on their official e - mail. Pl. Help me to get the refund.
driver
Hello, I boarded Megabus yesterday, June 30th, from St.Louis (depart 930am) to Chicago (arrive 310pm).
The bus driver said his name Darryl. Anyways, this man was very rude to the passengers. He spoke to us as if we were kids/teenagers.
First of all, when he went through his rules on the bus, he was just very obnoxious and spoke to us as if we were all idiots.
There were some passengers that boarded at 0930am, or a minute after., he spoke to them very mean and rude for being "late". He didn’t want to put a passengers suitcase in the cargo area, saying that he shouldn’t let her in His bus cause she was late.
Then at a rest area, he was very firm that if we are not back at 1230pm, we will Not get back on his bus. When 1230pm rolled around, he didn’t bother counting if the passengers were all seated, he just just the door, mumbled something and off we went.
What took the cake on this was almost 2 hours on the road...was a lady that was seated on the upper level, used the front staircase to us the bathroom, ( one of us his rules was not to use the front staircase on a moving bus)., well Darryl was very irrate. He stopped the bus in the middle of nowhere and yelled at this lady, who barely spoke english, firmly telling her to get off his bus. She broke one of his rules so therefore she must leave the bus. Everyone was shocked at this. She was almost in tears and kept apologizing. It was very obvious her understanding of the English language wasn’t up to Par with Darrly. After she kept on apologizing, He said he didn’t care and he was going to call the State Police to take her away. He was just speaking to her as if she was his kid. He kept insisting that she get off his bus. Anyways..after 20mins standing still and telling her to get off his bus, he took her outside, yelled at her some more and let her in the bus.
Many of the other passengers were very upset as to what has transpired. All of us were afraid to even say something because he might throw us all of the bus. We were uncomfortable.
I understand that there are safety rules that we as passengers must abide, but what this Darryl did was unacceptable and unexcusable.
I never have I experienced a rude obnoxious driver as him.
I hope that Megabus will take this matter serious enough and do something about drivers as Darryl. I will also call and send out emails regarding this concern and will reach out to whom I need to to make sure something is done.

amendment of reservation
I booked a reservation with megabus from sunderland to birmingham return. This is my first time of traveling with the bus, so I wanted to know if amendment could be made to my return trip back to sunderland on the 29th of dec instead of 2nd of jan. When I wanted to make the amendment for the journey, it notified me that an amendment had already be done. Since the first time I tried was just to confirm if amendment could be possible and no changes done.

late/noshow
My son had a reservation with megabus on friday, 11/25/2011, from erie, pa to pittsburgh with a 3:55am departure. I dropped him off at 3:30am. He called me at 5:00am. No bus yet. Again at 6:00am. Still no bus. I went up to pick him up at 6:30am. I called megabus around 1:30pm on friday. They said it was a traffic delay. Couldn't tell me when or whether the bus arrived. I asked if he could get on the 2:00pm bus. The agent said probably not. We'd have to buy another ticket. We went to the departure site anyway. He was able to board the later bus.
bad service
On 1-4-09 our son had a reservation to take the Megabus from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. When the bus arrived, the driver got off and said he could not take any more luggage, he said he did not have room. After arguing with waiting passengers (mostly college-age students & parents) for about 15-20 minutes he supposedly called his dispatcher. He claimed another bus was on its way and then he left, stranding about 15 customers in a parking lot in the cold. We tried calling the local phone number for Coach USA (Megabus is a subsidiary, and there is no phone listing in the book for Megabus) and the phone rang off the hook. We waited for an hour for another bus to arrive and then gave up. We ended up making other arrangements to get our son back to college.
rude driver, and driver drove off
me and my friend, 2 girls 17 years of age. paid more money to get an earlier coach from london to coventry so we were out the way of riots and home early, we got there early went to bus for driver who told us we couldnt get on, we had reservation sheet and everything with us, but he refused for no reason, he then drove off, so we went to desk explained what had happened, we had no money, no food, no shelter and we didnt know where we were or have family or friends that lived anywhere near by, we were told we have wait for 3 hours before the next coach, we were scared and hunbgry as the riots were happening and we didnt know what to do. but when the next bus came we got on, the bus driver was very rude, racist, and angry, he shouted at 2 people asking them to learn better english, and then asked if anyone on this bus spoke english just because a customer didnt know what a ring road was.
