bottle return, produce stocking, robotic customer service
This morning, I had a series of totally unpleasant experiences at my area Meijer store at Utica & 15 Mile Road in Fraser, MI.
1. Every bottle return section was filled with people with huge numbers of returns. It appeared to be a bunch of people who knew each other and they tied up the returns so that no one else could use them. I returned four different times and there was no let up. Perhaps there could be one return for those of us who do not save up grocery carts worth of empty bottles.
2. At least four people with produce poured out of the back room at one time, almost knocking the customers over, and blocking any ability to access the produce we wanted to buy. It would make more sense to stagger them so that your customers could still purchase, or do stocking at night or very early in the morning.
3. The cashier was the most unpleasant experience I have been provided as far as customer service. He did not greet me, was robotic in everything he did and never once produced a smile. When I reported this to the supervisor, all I got was o.k., o.k.,
o.k. Never a thank you, I will look into it, or I will see what we can do to remedy this. I have had a few unpleasant cashiers at this Meijer, but this one was the worst.
I shopped 10/05/2018, began at 9 a.m. and checked out at 10 a.m. I usually spend about $100.00 a week, but if this kind of experience continues, I will shop elsewhere.
I would like to be informed regarding how this will be addressed.
I am complaining about the workers
I am complaining about the workers at meijer in Terre Haute IN! I am a job coach for people with disabilities who are mainly very hard workers but unfortunately this meijer will not work with individuals with job coaches or many disabilities! Not sure why? It upsets me and I'm reaching out. I like to shop at meijer, but I witnessed three employees on their phones when I have Individuals who are hard workers who would kill for their job! This experience was not a good one and I don't know if I want to go back and shop!
moldy crescent rolls
I have absolutely had it with Meijer. From the empty shelves to the horribly rude employees, now a can of MEIJER brand crescent rolls that I JUST purchased, is moldy! I just spent $286.80 in this store and this is what I get! I've let cashiers overcharge me because they didn't know the price, or completely crush my bread because they carelessly bagged my groceries, or completely forget to ring up items altogether. I will now drive 30 miles out of my way to get my groceries. I cannot even tell you how upsetting this is, never again!
employee complaint
I was at mejier around 4pm today, to pick up prescriptions. Before ending to pharmacy I was looking to se if anyone left behind a $20 prescription coupon. While doing that I was on the phone saying I'm looking for a coupon so I could get some $$ back to shop with (my script was going to be around $50) so I walked back by pharmacy then came back by self service to hear the employee and security talking and the girl amber says " she better just pay that $50 so her family don't get sick.. than I asked her if they talked of me, because I just said that on phone near her. She replied we ain't talking about you ! Then her and security say we're having our own conversation. So I said if you were I apologize and start walking away ! She says yeah keep walking and they continue to talk about me.. so I go back and tell her if she has something to say, say it. She then dropped her badge on the floor and security tells me I have to leave the store and can't speak to a manager or make a complaint.. I go to service desk where nobody wants to call a manager for me and security is screaming at me to get out or their calling police, I told him to please call police and manager. The manager finally came and says get out I tried to tell him what happened told him to watch camera to see what he said I'll look into it and told me leave with out getting anybody's information are this complaint.. I'm very upset I don't shop at any other store, and now feel like I can't shop there..
deli rottsserie chicken
I enjoy getting your chicken when l am on the run. But l don't enjoy it being raw. I have several times have had the breast had blood in it. I usually get two for dinner and it really makes me mad to throw part of it away because its under cooked. I did finally call to complain today because enough is enough. Cook them longer please! Somebody could get sick eating under cooked meat especially chicken. If l didn't catch it and my granddaughters ate it before l caught them l would of been worried. You really need to check this. Thank you
odor throughout entire store
There is a foul smell that's the strongest by the produce and aisles 1-4. I thought if we walked to the other end of the store it would dissipate, it didn't. I asked other customers if they smelled it, they did.
I asked about it and was told that they've been looking for the source and cannot find it. The employees are clearly suffering.
I also heard someone gag. It's almost, and I'm not kidding, like decomposition. It could be in the large air vents above aisles 1-4 ? I work in healthcare and the smell in this Meijer is comparable to some of the things I have encountered in the E.R.
I love this Meijer, it's close to my house, but I cannot go back until that odor is gone like many of the customers who told me the same tonight.
Mastercard application
Last week I was shopping at the petoskey meijer store and approached by a meijer "associate" and asked if I wanted to fill out an application for a meijer mastercard. At first I said I did not, but the associate told me I would get $10 off my shopping cart that day. Since I have slowly but successfully been building my credit rating after a recent divorce, I thought perhaps opening another credit line at a place where I shop frequently might actually help build my credit rating, but I also worried that applying for this card might also do exactly the opposite. I asked the meijer associate, whose name was shelley (which I recall since that is also my nickname), if applying for the card would hurt or help my credit score. And she *assured me!* that it would "absolutely not" (
refused to honor printed coupons
I have been using printed coupons at your store #134 for 8 or 9 years. Today, 9/30/18 the cashier got in a hurry and did not scan my coupons. She told me to go to the register and they would take care of it. The lady at the refund register said Meijer did not take coupons printed on a computer. She outright lied to me. Now I am out the $3.00 the coupons were worth. I worked in LP for 34 years and I know you can access store security cameras from corporate offices. This transaction was at 10:54 this morning on register #16 I think. Last week I used coupons on 9/23/18 on register #20 @ 14:32. You can see there that the printed coupons went through. This store used to be friendly and acknowledged you when you were shopping. Now you have to stop them and try to get them to answer a question. I have no alternative now, but to start shopping at Kroger. I know their prices are slightly higher, but I also know printed coupons go thru there. I used one this last Thursday.

I live close to this store and usually shop there often, but tonight I walked out and left my purchases in the cart. They do not have enough cashiers. There is something wrong when checkout lines are so long that you would think it was a holiday. It was the same way the last time I went there in the evening. I ended up going to Krogers and had very little wait. I don't expect to walk right up to a cashier to get checked out, but being in line for an hour is not right. Please do something about this so I can return shopping there.
truck driver
(Truck driver S11526) This truck driver was not driving safe on the highway. He Was going at a speed i've never seen a truck driver driving at. As I was merging on the highway he was driving so fast that I got over in the emergency lane to let him go before my kids and I. He was also not getting over into different lane safely. I hope this is unexceptional behavior for drivers at Meijer.
He could have easily hurt hisself as well as drivers around him.
Pharmacy
My name is joann johnson I recently changed my pharmacy from one that I had been dealing with because I had recently revisited a meijer store after a number of years well I had my doctor send my pain medicine in and the pharmacy lost it after telling me that they had received it from my doctor it is also in my myhealth account that the script had been sent in needless to say after losing it I was told that I needed to have them sent in again it's now 6 o'clock on a friday after a few calls I was finally told to switch pharmacys all together to cvs to be exact I was told this by a meijer pharmacy tech I am dum founded to say the least I have never been treated like this by a pharmacist ever I put my health inn you all hands and now my weekend will be me laying up with a machine until monday when my doctor's office open up the pharamcy is 5531 28th st se grand rapids mi 49512 they are soooooooo wrong and has a I don't care attitude
dannon light & fit carb & sugar control yogurt
Why doesn't Meijers in Highland, Indiana have the Strawberry Cream Dannon Light & Fit Carb & Sugar control yogurt (diabetic friendly)? Once in a blue moon, they have the vanilla which isn't as good. I have to go to Marianos in Illinois to buy the Strawberry - I love that store. Unfortunately we don't have a Marianos in Indiana. They don't always have the Vanilla either - it's hit and miss!
electric carts
My mother has to shop using one of those electronic carts. We go to the Meijer on Warren Ave in Westland, Michigan every Sunday and NO matter what time of the day it is there are NO electronic carts available. There are ALWAYS 3 OR 4 carts that are out of order and not working at all.
We have talked to the greeters and they have even told us that they have told management that there needs to be more carts that work and they tell us that management will not listen to them.
I am writing this to that the corporate office can DO SOMETHING about THE LACK of available working electronic carts at this store.
PLEASE help people like my Mom be able to shop at your store.
At one time when we went shopping I witnessed 3 teenagers riding the carts that DID NOT NEED THEM. I told the store manager that was there at the time and he said that there is nothing he can do about it. WHAT A SHAME that my Mom who REALLY needs a cart had to wait 1/2 hour and these IDIOT teenagers were joy riding in the store.
PLEASE SUPPLY the Meijer store in Westland, Michigan with MORE WORKING electronic carts.
money order check cashing
I purchased a $100 money order from meijer. I got the money order sent back to be. Tried to cash said money order from one meijer. They said had to be original Meijer I purchased it from. Went to that same Meijer on 23 mile and gratiot in chesterfield michigan. Would not cash the money order I bought and still had the receipt for. I will never go to another meijer again.
the store in utica mi
I have been coming to this store (Utica, Mi on Hall road) for about 10 years, in the last 2 years It has gown down hill.
Huge lines, only a few lanes open, over picked produce and many items out of stock. I use to see a lot of the same smiling faces over the years but now I see a lot of new faces over and over. Seems the turnover rate is high.
I'm not sure what has led to these changes but I'm very unhappy. I am a huge Meijer shopper. It's the only store I ever shop at besides Sams club. I love Meijer but as of late every time I go in this store I get very upset.
Today almost everything I needed was out. No english cucumbers, no green peppers, lots of the other items on my list had very few to choose from.
I hope to see some change

Hello,
Yesterday I bought Meijer Tortilla chips and today I noticed A gelly-like substance that was not edible. Unfortunately, I found that out by having it in my mouth at the time. I ended up throwing out the whole bag of chips just Incase, but I wanted to let you know as well because there might be something wrong with the quality of your machines.

I am complaining about employee service
I went last week to Meijer at Saginaw located at 3360 Tittabawassee Rd, Saginaw, MI 48604. I am a new Meijer customer. That week visit was my third time. I was looking for Frozen Puff Pastry Sheet At first I asked an employee where I can find it- he was so annoyed with my question and just said t it is somewhere in frozen section. But he did not show me where exactly. I did not find puff pastry sheet after spending an hour. But I did not asked that person again because he was so reluctant to give me the answer. Then when I went for checked out, I asked the lady there-"Where I can find puff Pastry" She replied back to me " I really do not know where to find" and she showed me she was so busy. I was expecting she could refer someone. I then asked another employee who was just passing by-She said - " It can be at frozen section". I found her careless about what I am trying to find out. But I was determined I need to find my puff pastry and after spending another hour by myself I fnally got it. My point is it took 2 hours by me to find my thing. whereas your employee could simply show me where it is. When I go to other store such as Walmart or Target, the employees are always very helpful. Me and my husband are so disappointed about your customer service. We probaly will think twice before shopping at Meijer.

I can't believe you credit card provider cancelled my credit card because they didn't have a Physical adrs on file...how would I get a credit card without that? I've had this card since 2005. I changed 2013 to a PO box for billing & mailing. My credit is A+ and to hear you choose a company to back your programs and awards like 10 cents off gas, spend XX amount on credit card get coupon is now a JOKE.
I will no longer shop at Meijer, purchase gas from Meijer, and tell everyone to boycott due to how your customers are treated. There are a lot of places to shop in town. I will public twitter, facebook and tell EVERYONE how crazy this is for a long time customer to be treated this way! Having your name on a credit card is a disgrace
meijer texas toast
I purchased Meijer Texas Toast on 9-7-18 from the Fort Gratiot store in Michigan. My son was making toast today and their appeared to be something small and blue in the bag between 2 slices of bread. He removed it. Then he toasted 2 slices of bread and before buttering it he flipped the bread over and a piece of this blue thing was stuck in the bread. I would like either a refund or a voucher for a new loaf of bread. I have the toast and the blue thing as it was stuck to the bread and the blue dye Is on the toast.

First I would like to thank Meijer Corporate for sending me the coupon booklet. Very kind and useful. I saved $5.00 which isn't much but, better than nothing at all😀 ( that $5.00 can go towards gas for the car).
My concern however is when using the Self Check Out machines. Sometimes they work properly other times not so much. When scanning items sometimes the kiosk may lock or miscalculate. I go to Meijers usually very early in the morning to avoid crowds (thank you for your 24 hour service). When needing assistance with the Self Check Out kiosk sometimes the staff are not available or will just stand there looking at you. So today I decided to go to a staffed register counter and I must say the employee was not very nice. Her behavior seemed somewhat rude (her name was Deborah). I also go to Meijers because it's very close to home with a huge grocery section. I'm not sure because it's early in the morning or not being people persons but, it's not the first time I've experienced rude behavior from the staff at Meijers Westland at that time in the day.
