common items out of stock for weeks on end
I shop at Meijer weekly and have for thirty (plus!) years. The most convenient location is the DeWitt Meijer, so that's where I usually shop. I love the mPerks/rewards program and the one-stop-shopping.
But!
Diet A&W Root Beer. Is. Never. In. Stock.
Roasted Red Pepper Triscuits are seldom in stock. Why?
Naturally Good Kosher Sharp Cheddar Cheese...again, rarely in stock.
Sale items are not stocked in sufficient quantities - I mean, if they're gone in an hour then it's not a "sale"...it's a Blue Light Special. C'mon, guys. This is my store. The Bath location has too much leakage of hipsters from Okemos and East Lansing. Would someone puh-leeze take a look at the DeWitt, MI Meijer? There are a lot of people like me, you know.
meijer brand wavy potato chips
I purchased the buy one get one free and the wavy potato chip bag has a lot of burn chips in it. They taste wonderful but they have a burnt taste. I've never had any issues with Meijer brand products. I think Meijer brand products are just as good as the name brand. I understand things happen, but the entire bag had that burnt taste. I love shopping at my local Meijer.
normal, illinois store
I visit Meijer multiple times a week and just this week I have had the following problems.
- On 12/6 I went to pick up a prescription and there was a sign on the drive thru saying that only drop offs would be excepted.
- On 12/7 I opened up a credit card bill for $41. I hadn't charged anything so I called and was told it would be taken care of because it was a mistake on their part. Before this they threatened to send my stuff to collectors and didn't explain what the mistake was.
After I got off work on 12/7 I went to Meijer to grab some gifts. There was not 1 calender in the whole store and the planner section was all strewn about and a hot mess. I then went to go buy my dad some dress pants and there was not one size 38-34 in the whole store. I didn't even care what color or brand or style, I literally would of taken anything. Then I go to the shelf check out like I always do and this young Asian man came over when he noticed I had coupons and took them to scan them for me, fine whatever. I had a $10 off a purchase that I earned for spending over $100 a couple days ahead and I thought it expired on 12/7 but I guess it was 12/6 because the man didn't even try to scan it and just said this was only good yesterday. He then crumpled it in his hand, took my pre printed coupons that printed out of the coupon printer when I put my mperks in and threw them all away.
Needless to say I'm not impressed with my local Meijer this week.
service in general - no christmas hires this year
The word is Oxford Meijers did not hire any Christmas help this year. We are all standing in a long line with twelve registers shut down.
Don't your marketing people understand how much Meijer loses my not giving back to the community? By employing local people those same people will spend money at your store which is a win-win situation. Too bad for Meijer!

product
Meijer is where I ALWAYS go to do my grocery shopping. Today I ran some errands and stopped into Meijer (Middletown, Ohio) to get a few things.. I went to go look at all the Christmas items and I can honestly say I've never been more disappointed. It was pathetic, ridiculous and so aggravating that i stopped and just went to check out. They had wrong sale items on the product, stuff was everywhere and in the wrong place. Out of like EVERYTHING. I mean it's almost Christmas and everyone is starting to decorate or need more ornaments or lights Etc. I hate to complain but it was just awful. And this isn't the first time this has happened. 2 weeks ago it was the same way...
pricing conflict with good rx
On Nov.11, 2017, I went to your store in Traverse City, MI to pick up a prescription for 180 celecoxib capsules, 200mg . The coupon price on Good RX linked to your store was $54.70. When Veronica entered the information on her computer, the price came up $100.97; quite a difference from the web site quote. We called Good Rx and they did not know why this conflict existed, but they would "get back to me". I reluctantly paid the $100.07 but followed up with Good RX. They said that Meijer was dispensing capsules from a different vendor than the usual Macleods NBC [protected].. The change had not been recorded with Good RX.
I would appreciate a refund of $46.27 from Meijer due to the false advertising
and misinformation shared with GoodRX.
You will want to contact Meijer directly to see if they will process a refund for you. You may want to be aware that if the quote says anything about prices being subject to change or being estimates only, then technically it is not false advertising and you probably won't receive any credit.
thanksgiving/black friday deals
I feel that I should tell you that the system the Coldwater michigan meijer used today for the early morning sales was unfair. My son and I arrived early to the Coldwater meijer to buy Apple watches this morning and followed the signs to the appropriate line. While in line we heard the meijer employees tell people it didn't matter which lines you stood in to get your products and clearly lines for the iPads and fit bits were moving so much faster so by the time my son and I reached the front (over an hour on standing in line) the watches were gone. I asked the sales clerk if we could get a rain check since NO where in the Ad did it say this was only for a limited quantity in the store but she refused to honor the ad. Meijer need to figure out a better way to run these deals. At least Walmart tells you how many and you know right away if you will get the item...not wait an hour in line to be told "sorry" also you should specify that there is no rain checks...I assumed since it was not specified that I would have been able to still get the watches at that price. I am very disappointed to say the least. Feel like I woke up early drove 20min to town and stood in a slow moving line for over an hour for nothing. Being told "I'm sorry" by the sales clerk really didn't make me feel any better. I hope Meijer can figure out how to improve this process. I'm not sure that I will ever try doing that again. I normally do all my shopping at Meijer but Black Friday deals are just much more organized and easier at Walmart. Thanks for listening.

apple watch series 2 deal on thanksgiving
I went to get an Apple Watch series 2 this morning for the 100 dollars off next purchase at the Traverse City store and was there before 6 o'clock. I get there and they didn't have any series 2 left because the cashier was giving out multiple coupons to one person and doing it before 6 o'clock! There was only 4 people in line and I didn't even get a chance. I believe this is absolutely ridiculously! The ad stated that the sale started at 6 o'clock and I believe the coupons should not have been given out before then. I appreciate the consideration of following what your ad said.

grocery item
On November 22 I had an unpleasant experience at customer service and the manager needs to train his employees for better customer service. i have been going to Meijers in Avon for my biweekly shopping, since recently moving to Indiana, a year ago. For the first time I went to customer service to return some items that were totally unsatisfactory. I explained to the gal that I had cooked one of the items, and after cooking the required time and temperature, it was inedible and I had to throw it away, so I was returning the other two. She gave me a look which silently said, Yeah, right, I know you are lying. When she gave me my receipt, I looked at at the amount, which only totaled the sum of 2 items, not 3 items as I had explaind, and did not give any credit for the tax.
the lady at customer service
A lady at the store on Emerson in Indianapolis at customer service was super rude and just throwing our things around. She had no manners and was just rude over all. The cashier was very informed over the specials. It was a horrible experience over all because she has no need to speak to us like that when we were very calm and respectful. In addition she was throwing around the product the company buys.
advertising a kitchenaid heavy duty mixer as a black friday whole week sale
We went Noblesville Indiana store Sunday November 19th and There was a kitchen aid 500 watt mixer on sale for $199.99..when we got there, they're were none in the space (and only 2 looked like they'd fit there anyway) which was what I expected. .when I checked with service desk, of course there wasn't any more, nor were they getting any more and no raincheck ..my co-worker also seen this at the store..we were all talking about how this was such bad marketing move just to get people in the store knowing full well they only had probably 2 mixers to sale!
I spend alot of money in groceries and prescriptions and this is how you treat your customers! Care to comment?
Just because the shelf that contained them was small does not mean they only ever had two available to sell. That is quite the assumption. Most likely they had decent stock that they regularly filled or may have even had a display up that was taken down.
checkout service
I'm a frequent Meijer shopper as I live around the corner from the Birch Run Meijers. Why isn't their enough cashiers at checkout? I should not have to wait a half hour to check out $50 worth of odds and ends. I attempted the photo counter to avoid the huge lines but because my cart had a cabbage in it I was turned away. This is obsurd! It's almost faster to drive to Clio to Walmart to avoid the line. Why pay extra money to buy from Meijer if the line is so long I'm angry when I leave?
lightning mcqueen kids light up shoes.
I bought these shoes for my son about a month-and-a-half ago, the shoes fit him fine and he loves that they light up but, I was putting his shoes on the other day and all of the sudden the velcro came off of the strip. He didn't use these shoes everyday and there was not much wear and tear on them as they were almost new. I'm not sure if I needed to email Meijer company or maybe the maker all of the shoes.
service in seafood department. merrillville indiana
This store has the rudest man in the seafood department I have ever encountered. This is not the first time he has been rude but it is the last time he will be to me. I will not be back to this store. I drive approx 30 miles to shop at Meijer because there is not one closer and I like your produce and seafood. I asked for tuna and was told by the short grumpy man that there wasn't any. When walking away I saw there was plenty in the display. When he finished with another customer who also commented on his rudeness, I pointed out that there was indeed tuna and I would like some. He made a smart remark and then started grabbing pieces out of the case. When I stated I didn't want one of the pieces he grabbed them and threw them back in the case. That's when I told him I would not be making any purchases and that he was very rude.
scott toilet paper
Once again, Meijers have solidified my assumption that you just don't care about the customer. No wonder your losing so much business. It is upsetting that you would remove such a great product like Scott tube free toilet paper from the shelves.
Dirty stores, unorganized, unfriendly work staff and high prices will be the end of what used to be a great store.
I'm done, meijers will not get another single hard earned dollar of mine.
bakery
11/16/17
I called the Bakery to see if I could order a customized cake. The first customer service representative from the Bakery started to take my order and when I asked if they could something in the style of a Jack Daniels Label I was told that it would be a copy right issue, but she would let me speak with the cake decorator to further discuss my request. I spoke to the cake decorator and I asked her specifically "I have a question about ordering a customized cake." Then I asked her the same questions I had asked the previous worker and she also said they couldn't because of copy right laws. I said" Okay, could you do a name and Old No. 30 on it with some designs?" then she began asking me questions about the name, in a very rude manner, like she was perturbed to be taking my order. I began spelling my the name and she said, "NO!" I said "excuse me!" she then paused and began to spell back to me. At that point I said "thank you but I will call someone who is more professional."
I would like you to understand that I worked a number of years in retail and customer service and I have never spoken to a customer the way I was spoken to today. I have noticed that since the Meijer opened in our town their customer service has gone down as well. I was actually referred to the bakery at Meijer to order a cake. This was not what I was expecting. I would like my complaint to be addressed and if it is not I will continue the send this complaint until I get a response. If I was excepted to be held to a certain rapport during my experience with customer service, then so are your employees.
This website is a public consumer complaints board and not directly affiliated with Meijer. You will need to contact them directly for assistance. You may want to ask for the bakery department manager or the store manager if they do not have department heads. At most what they can do is to give her a verbal warning if she admits to being rude or someone can confirm your statements.
service
I went into my local store at 1:30 am to do my shopping as I sometimes do to find that the majority of the isles I needed to go down were blocked off. They had blocked off a large section from the bread, coffee, toilet paper, water, soda, chips, and juices. It may have even went as far as the cereal as well. I underatand that you need to wax the floors but not in that large of sections. I asked the men that were waxi g if they could grab a few things that I needed that night which they were standing fairly close to at the end caps and they were very rude and said no they couldn't and that the floors wouldn't be done for a long time. I then had to drive across town to do my shopping.
cashier trouble
I was just at the Anderson Indian Location and I had a very rude cashier. I had my basket on the belt and she picked it up pretty high off the belt and just dumped it out nothing broke but my stuff made a loud crash and I had a small toy that was in a plastic case that could of easily broke. Then as I was paying I was double checking the screen to make sure my order all rang in right since some were on mark down and she got very short about if I wanted cash back and then I was short once again about the next step on the screen, she could tell by my face I wasn't please and gave a rude sorry under her breath. you were slow no one was behind me why treat my like i need to rush out of your line.
buy 5 specified items, get $5.00 off
There were signs in front of all the Newman's pasta sauce that said if you buy 5, you get $5.00 off. I did not get $5.00 off at the register. The item was not in the ad, so I asked the cashier to call for a price check, he refused. So, I told him to take back all the groceries then, and only then, did he give me the $5.00 off. This kind of thing happens almost every time I shop there. There is a sale sign in front of the product, but it rings up full price. Also, almost half the sale items were not available. Bait and switch? Watch at the register folks! I tried to get him to correct the problem, and he said he cannot, so everyone will be overcharged.
It's probably not intentional and just a series of mistakes.
meijer gas station
I went to start my car and it wouldn't start, so I had to call for a ride at 5am in the morning. When I came back home from work I had to call my kia roadside asst to see if my car needed a jump. The kia guy got my car started by putting the accelerator all the way down on the floor and turned the keyy, it took a minute but it started. Then he said do you smell that? He said it was bad gas. I always get my gas at Meijer after I get my groceries. I had to add a bottle of heat to get out some of the moisture. I don't think I'll be getting gas from you anymore. You might want to check this out.
You should contact the station directly. If the gas was truly "bad" then your car would not be the only one affected, and they should be notified.
