Eye exam 6-5-2023 2:00. For contacts. Services not rendered. Exam was not conducted in a professional manner. Constantly calling me commander. Telling me to sit still asking me “Are you scared commander,” having a hard time to get machine to work. When I was sitting very still! Not knowing why he couldn’t get me seeing 20/20. Conducting exam without contacts in. Referring me to specialist. Did not have the outcome I wanted. Walking out with no prescription and no trials. Not having any trials in brand I wear. Went to Ophthalmologist in area I live, he completed the exam in a professional manner, wiithout contacts in, dialed eyes, finding nothing going on & also getting the prescription needed, then putting them in and finishing the exam. walking out with prescription and trials. In the fit and brand I wear. I should not have been charged for an incomplete eye exam. Walking out with no prescription or trials. Thus losing $129.00 which is a lot of money to lose having no insurance, paying out of pocket and being on a fixed income.
Desired outcome: Asking for refund $129.00
Open items on shelf
I purchased granola bars that I later found out were open, The box and the bars inside. I contacted the store and the offices with little help. The help have received was rude. Mostly drive back to the store for a refund. When I called I was told they sometimes get returns and put them back on the shelf. When I told the office that they basically said I...

I was in the store yesterday and there was a child size shirt with the rainbow garbage on it. I am so tired of the constant push of this garbage upon us. I just want to buy groceries. Children don’t need to be indoctrinated in grocery stores. Bud light, Target and Kohl’s, even Disney are all seeing their stock plummet because they are selling pride rather then products. Will Meijer be next? Time will tell! But I, for one am tired of it.
Desired outcome: Pride month stuff removed.
Chronically lousy or slow self-checkout problems
Is there anybody else out there who hates or is extremely frustrated with meijer’s shoddy ‘self-checkout’ system? (especially the ft. Gratiot mi location) i’ve been having trouble with both the lousy ‘old’ and the recent ‘new and improved (?)’ self-checkout systems for about 4 years now. The old – constantly red and green lights stopping and then clearing the way to continue, the lights sometimes flash red then green so often they should use them for blinking christmas lights. Lots of ‘wait for attendant’ notices (key word here is wait), machine stopping your order with a red light somehow thinking it’s a separate order (not exactly artificial intelligence), see the line you’re in get the dreaded red light and jump to another? That lane often will get the red light too. Other glitches also. On to the ‘new and improved’ system. The machines will often spit back or reject perfectly new and fine bills from the on-site atm or my bank. Over and over. Often the few and sometimes overwhelmed human attendants can’t get to you, will walk right by you and say “i’ll be back to help you in a minute” and then disappear to the back of the store to put items back. Other attendants will come over and ‘push the wrong button’ to solve your problem and cause more delays. I’m missed a dozen or so buses at least by just a minute or half a minute over the last 4 years. I end up spending 1-1/2 hours for 30 minutes of shopping and 10-20 minutes of of checking out. “try allowing for more time” you say? I allowed an extra 10 minutes last night and still missed another bus. Again. I complain half the time, but get lame apologies, lip-service about speaking to the employees and improving things, etc. But the same problems keep happening, even with their shiny 'new and improved' system. They don’t or can’t fix things. Or maybe don’t really care. I know a couple of people who also don’t like the meier’s checkout experience. Even some of their employees don’t like it! I’ve cut back my ft. Gratiot meijer’s shopping by 2/3’s. Maybe I need to skip them even more. Feel free to post your own horror stories.
Desired outcome: FIX THE DAM(n) PROBLEMS. Spare the lame ongoing apologies and lip-service about 'we'll work on that'
sales
8 out 10 times you are likely to get ripped off on sales. 7 for 7 sale got 4 items then got 3 more items from another part of the store with the product directly above the sign. Being already pushed for time and late for work I check the receipt and was charged full price for the items which is double for the 4 and .67 per item for the remaining 3. I do not...

I was short a free bag of Lindt Chocolate candy instead I got a $10.50 coupon that will not pay for this bag, so what do you want me to do? Over something so easy to fix when you buy a bag you get a bag free that is what is advertised not a 10.50 coupon. Meijer's response dated May 8, 2023 Thank you for your reply. The cost of the missing item was $10.31...

I am writing to you because I feel you are discriminating against the senior community. Many seniors do NOT have smart phones and do NOT have computers and your choice to do everything by apps and online is truly unfair to those of us who choose NOT to be connected to the internet daily. Many of us on fixed incomes relied on the paper coupons you sent and...

I have over22000 points and cannot use them. yesterday may 1 I was on the phone with a lady from mperks for a long time trying to get the issue fixed but she had to turn it over to the tech people. She tried so hard but tour system would not accept my log in. now I can't even sign in on your site.
please fix and inform me when it will work again.[protected]@core.com or
[protected] thank you
Desired outcome: fix it or fire the techs and get someone who can fix your system
It is June 10, 2023 and for quite a few days I too am unable to access the meijer.com website to sign on (unable to clip mperks or use accumulated points). The site says "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access http://www.meijer.com/failover/sitedown.html?/ on this server. Reference #18.552b3417.[protected].2dcbeadc". I have contacted meijer with no results.
Merchandise return cards / corporate policies
Had an issue a while back with the store's advertised promotion that didn't show up at the register. At customer service they tried to rectify the situation by putting the refund on a 'Meijer Merchandise Return Card.' I don't recall just when that transaction occurred or even how much money is on the card, but when I tried to use it, it was not recognized by the cash register. A cashier tried several times to get it to work but couldn't. Given that it has been a while since the card was issued to us, I decided to call Meijer customer service to ask about their merchandise card policy, having concern that those cards could expire after a couple of months. The agent said that the the cards 'don't have an expiration date," but that if they are not activated within 3 months, the value on the card begins to decline and that once the value drops below $10 that the value disappears entirely! Doesn't that sound like an 'expiration' policy to you! Then the agent told me that it would have to be handled in person at customer service in the store. So why didn't the cashier know about that? And what if there was less than ten bucks on the card to begin with? What a screwy system. About as bad as their gift-receipt system. Their gift receipts don't lock in the price paid for an item! All they are is proof of purchase.
Desired outcome: A change in their merchandise return card policy.
Parking lot return stalls for carts!
I would like to know why the return stalks fur shopping carts have been moved out so far the Handicap parking spots? This has just happened in 2023 and I cannot understand why in the world that move was made!?
There is a reason “Handicap” parking is closer to the door, and without consideration to that, whoever is making the decision for the customers was totally overlooked! Cart return is know so far out that I fir one will be leaving beside the spot I parked in! I always returned the cart in consideration for the next customer, however since “Management” could care less about that I hope you employ someone to be a FULL TIME cart attendant to take it to the return stall, or take it back in the store! It’s totally ridiculous!😡
Desired outcome: Move the return cart stall closer to Handicap parking!
They need to put a priority on Handicapped Parking! Not only did they get rid of their 'Expectant Mother/ Children' Special Parking Spots (you can probably guess why that happened). They've now got the closest parking designated for 15-minute 'Quick Trip' stops! Meijer doesn't seem to be compassionate toward its elderly and handicapped shoppers.
And they've replaced the 'nearest to the door' handicapped parking for 15 minute or less 'Quick Trip' parking! And it doesn't look like they have the designated 'Mothers and Babies' spots that they used to! Perhaps that is a sign of the woke infection that infiltrated Meijer a while back. They need to be more considerate of their elderly and handicapped shoppers for sure!
Product availability
Was at the White Lake Meijer store in Michigan on April 23rd. I have to tell you that every time I go in that store to grocery shop the shelves are never stocked. Today they were so bad it looked like that store was going out of business. I can see this happening around the holidays but this is an everyday occurrence at this location. I have been trying to...

I'm having similar issues at my local Meijers in Delaware Ohio. I was followed the last two times I was there and then they changed cashiers when I got to the counter and I heard her say it's there policy when they have one that walks around round the entire store. Some lady even took my picture. I own a home two blocks from this Meijers with my husband and will be living here for a very long time. I have 5 years worth of Mperks showing I've spent thousands at the store. I make well over 100k a year so I can shop from one end of that store to the other and have receipts.
Desired outcome: Will be a Lawsuit if it happens again.
No fitting rooms.
I just got back from returning yet another clothing item because I couldn’t try it on in the store. It’s ridiculous that a store that sells clothing does not have fitting rooms. When I complained to customer service I was told that the rooms were closed due to theft. I’d be willing to bet that more items are stolen by self-checkout cheaters than from fitting rooms. Maybe they could use some of the positions that were eliminated by self-checkout to provide a fitting room attendant.
Desired outcome: Re-open fitting rooms
People use them to steal and other things. I can understand why they kept them closed.
No, the people working there don't like dealing with them. It's "too haaaardd"
Ionia Store/no cashiers
I went on Wednesday around 5 pm. When I went to check out there was only 2 cashiers! Only one side of self service lanes were open! If you cant get the help then change more of your lanes to self service lanes. This is ridiculous having to wait 30 mins because you only have 2 lanes open. I finally took all my grocery's to self service. I dont give a rip if...

Today I was harassed by another customer in front of many people today at Meijer. Instead of worrying about my safety or having any regard for me I was humiliated by management. I brought my pet today in his stroller. This has never been an issue at any other Meijer store I have been to and several employees informed me(at each location) that this was okay to do because my pet is contained. But today a rude, disrespectful woman got in my face and started screaming at me while I was heading towards the checkout about why I was allowed to have my pet with me and other horrible things. I tried to be polite and walk away from the woman while she screamed at me only to be asked to leave a moment later by the store manager. Meanwhile a woman with her puppy was in the store during this time and was not treated in such a way. I was then followed by the store manager out the door which made me feel persecuted for simply trying to shop. Meijer needs to clarify what their pet policy is and enforce it for everyone and not just certain people. I also feel that it shameful for a company that claims to be family oriented and inclusive to allow bullying and harassment in their store while treating the victim as the villain. Thank you to the deli cashier and greeter who stood up for me today. I didnt catch your names but you were both gems.
Desired outcome: I want an apology. I also want their pet policy clarified and enforced for all customers and stores. Meijer also needs to aid customers that are harassed and not allow the rude, disrespectful clients to get away with their behavior.
To clarify, it is perfectly okay if it's not acceptable for Meijer to allow pets. However, I have always asked and been told by employees that it was okay. Aforementioned, another customer was in their with her puppy and I've always seen animals(non-service) in there with their owners. So which is it and why is it only okay for some and not others? And why is it okay to allow bullying and harassment of your clientele. There are so many better ways to handle these situations and I never want anyone to experience and feel how I did today.
The new way Meijer is sending to customers home.
I have been trying to reach out to your company since you came out with the new way of of handling coupons that are sent to our home. I have emailed and called customer service but the coupons still don't show in my M-perks. I have tried all the recommended ways that I was told would work but am only able to get the standard coupons. I always would come in to Meijers to use my M-perks coupons because it was always coupons I could really use. I can't be the only customer that has complained about this. It was a terrible idea and does not work!

Pickup services picking expired or moldy groceries
This is not the first time I have received expired products during a grocery pickup but it will definitely be the last. If it is not, I will choose to shop elsewhere. Today I received my groceries and once arriving home after a 30 minute drive, noticed my bread picked expired today 3/25. As a family of 3, we don’t typically get through bread in 1 day therefore having bread expire the same day as picking groceries is extremely unsatisfactory.
ice mountain water
they had it in two different places one said 3.99 a case and in the next place they had it for 5.49 when I went to check out it came up 5.49 the prices are bad enough every where you need to stop playing games and the other thing i noticed is when you out of something they put the more expensive item in that spot so you think people dont pay attention and some dont and alot are seniors on a fixed income shame on you just to make your shelves look full.
Desired outcome: if your out of something them leave it empty
Yep! And to make matters worse, they have inconsistent signage that amounts to competing promotions within the same product line and across similar departments. Take for example 30% off clearance prices on shoes (no sticker color specified) and a different percent off of 'pink sticker' clearance items in Women's fashions! Or buy one Always Bladder Control product and get the second 50% off at the same time they have a $1 off promotion on Always 'feminine hygiene' products! Cashiers get frustrated when you insist to them that you've read the sign correctly and know what you have seen! Meijer is NOTORIOUS for not having their special in-store promotions properly programmed into the cash registers! Always watch your receipts when you shop there folks!
Employee's....
Approximately 11:10, Saturday 3.18.2023 started down isle, 2 employees were chatting, know one saw me, but kept talking to other, neither offered to move, so I skipped that isle & went to another..
Horrid, Disgusting, sad, they employed by Meijers at Pike Plaza & so Rude to paying customers..
As a rule most employees are great, but that one has attitude problem, not the 1st time dealing with her.
Desired outcome: email or phone: '[protected]@att.net'
management
I am completely appalled with the way the store is managed. I am a former employee that got harassed in front of the whole store by the GM line leader Joyce Mclaughlin. It was unprofessional in every way, I sure hope that she is fired or released from her current duties, I had no problem prior to this incident. I showed up for work did my job and never...
