former employee
I use to work at the southgate meijers and I went back in this past week to shop there and buy products. I had been employed there for over 3 months as a GM and then after my 90 days decided to put me as a cart pusher and that's not what I wanted to be employed for and wasn't hired for that, so I quit. But that isn't the issue, I returned as a customer and seen my fellow manager in there and he proceeded to tell me that they had a big party when I left and his (Drake) exact words were they couldn't find a [censor] worker than me. I didn't want to cause a scene and I am better than that and took the high road and just let it be. That was totally uncalled for especially for someone in a upper position and for someone representing your company. Hopefully he gets written up or talked to.
pork chops
On July 30 I purchased a package of pork chops from the Meijer in Petoskey, MI. I was going to cook them on July 31, only to find they were spoiled. It is very frustrating because that is the second time pork has spoiled within a couple days, and just last week ground beef went bad. I have checked my fridge to be sure it's not that. Nothing else has gone bad. It would cost me as much in gas to go get a refund.
a dog was able to walk around in the store with his owner
This is more of a question, I wanting to know if Meier's allow dogs not services dogs but pet dogs into the stores. I'm also going to call the health department to see what the state rules are. If it isn't allowed I'm going to place a complaint. This truly upset me because I one dog is allow there will be other bringing there dogs and if dogs isn't allow I will suggest the company add signs. That states service dogs only

employee(s) unsatisfactory service in pharmacy dept.
On 7/18/2017 ALEXXUS refused to let me put in my MPerks. The screen came up but clicked off and she said it was too late to put my information in. All assistants say wait till after the ring up then put the information in for MPerks. I went to the Head /Supervisors on the floor and they went to the Service Desk and put my information in. The Floor Supers/Head ladies ALWAYS ARE SO HELPFUL at the 1540 28th st Meijer in Grand Rapids Michigan. I forget the tall blond hair w/dark ends wearing the dark blue top and on this day a shorter nice lady with dark hair-I didn't get her name either. But they are SO NICE. ALEXXUS was rushing to get done.
On 7/25/17 ELLEN G. was waiting on me in pharmacy today. I told her the information to pick up my medication, I also told her I got a phone call from the pharmacy-they wanted to refill a prescription, I was wondering which it was? ELLEN G. told me "I only have one prescription ready to pick up". I REPEATED -Yes, I know, I said "I received a call from Meijer Pharmacy saying they wanted to refill a prescription for me" Then I said "That's O.K. " . She then calmed down but complained about the work she had to do.
I in the past raved about MEIJER AND THE PHARMACY. Not So Much Any More. Since these last 2 events I really dread going to Meijer Pharmacy. I've always heard other people complain BUT I never did. I dread Meijer Pharmacy!
meijer brand fruit and yogurt cereal
I purchased your brand of fruit yogurt cereal which says it had yogurt and fruit clusters. I have eaten over half the box and only had 2 yogurt clusters. I didnt want just flakes I bought it because i was supposed to contain yogurt and fruit also. I am not very satisfied with my purchase of your cereal. Honey bunches of oats had way more clusters of fruit. I hope all of your cereals are not this disappointing.
job ideal
Working at Meijer hasn't done any change to employees because it shows that Meijer only cares about money these days and it hurts because if Meijer cares about money and not the employee then what the point of having employee work if they don't get what they want. I've worked at Meijer at Aurora Il on rt 59 and I disapproval the staffing, the jobs and how reckless Meijer is and I believe it is time for Meijer to shut down temporarily and remodel everything from head to toe and that way there were frustrations among the employee and manager. How is a company supposed to help you if they don't care anymore? I believe that this location stores should shut down immediately, remodel everything from head to toe and maybe find a better system without frustrating employees and managers
unfriendly cashier
I shopped at store #158, Knapp's Corner, the evening of 7/19. Checked out at 10:42 P.M., Lane 16. Alexander was the cashier. Alex was unfriendly right from the get-go. He didn't say a word to me at all. I had to actually ask him how he was doing. He didn't even look at me most of the time. Didn't ask if I found anything, nor did he ask if I had MPerks. I asked him if I should enter my MPerks. He said that it was up to me. On the plus side, he did a good job of bagging my order.
Normally, I don't shop at this store as I live on the southwest side of town. I drove 21 miles one-way to go to this store as I knew how nice the store is. And I just want to say that this store is really nice! Great selection of many things, and a really beautiful interior! However, I live too far to go here most of the time.
Also, I myself, am a Meijer cashier. So I wait on hundreds of people every day. In any event, not really sure if Alex has trouble dealing with certain types of people. I myself never met the guy before. Or maybe Alex was just having a bad day. Or maybe he just didn't feel like being friendly at that time. Not really sure. What I do know is that I didn't do anything whatsoever to invoke his unfriendliness. Maybe the guy's just shy and I misunderstood the whole thing? In any event, I always go out of my way to be friendly to every guest as a cashier, and so should he.
lobster bisque soup-panera-shells
I picked up my favorite soup at the grocery store and the lobster bisque had shells in it. I pick up soup for my husband and I because we have little to no teeth. It was irritating having to pick shells out of my mouth. This has never happened before and I have bought your soup religiously for months. The expiration date on the soup was 08/09/2017. The other numbers on the bottom were as follows: 053117 11k 18970.
Please check this out and find out why the quality control is not very much quality. I pay a pretty penny to have high restaurant-type soup.

online order not accepted due for fpo address
Hello,
I am an active duty U.S. Marine stationed overseas. I recently tried to purchase a Meijer gift card for a family member back in the States but was unable to due to my foreign address not being accepted by your system. My wife called customer service in an attempt to place the order over the phone and was told that only a stateside address could be accepted. Please update your system to account for foreign military addresses. Updates should include the following options:
Three Military "States":
AA, which stands for Armed Forces (the) Americas
AE, which stands for Armed Forces Europe
AP, which stands for Armed Forces Pacific
Three "City" equivalents:
APO, which stands for Army Post Office
FPO, which stands for Fleet Post Office
DPO, which stands for Diplomatic Post Office
Thank you for your consideration!
produce dept.
I've been a loyal Meijer customer for many years and often sing the praises of the outstanding produce selection to others, so I was doubly dismayed and disappointed yesterday afternoon (July 12, 2:54 p.m. checkout) to see the disgraceful condition of the leafy greens and raw vegetables section in the area that's supposed to be watered periodically. Much of it was wilted, unappetizing and low in stock. It was so off-putting, I decided to shop for produce elsewhere. When I queried the one employee in the area, he replied that two workers had not come in that day and was doing his best to restock the area.
Also, I am puzzled by the total absence of plastic bags in that same area along the header. Zero, zip, none! What were they thinking? On top of that, many of the other bag dispensers are often empty, forcing shoppers to search throughout the area for a bag. Not exactly user-friendly or customer-oriented.
And while I'm at it, I'm still frustrated that La Tortilla Factory Hand-Made Style Tortillas were dropped in favor of organic tortillas when the area was re-fixtured, forcing me to buy them at Giant Eagle.

employee behavior.
On July 6, 2017, I shopped at the Grandville Meijer. I used the Fastlane 108. I bought alcohol on this trip so needed approval to check out. I was waiting by the lane for someone when "Tyler, Z I think was his last initial" walked up behind me and said "Move it!" I turned around thinking it had to be someone I knew but sadly discovered a Meijer employee. I said to him "Move it?" thinking I misunderstood him. He then said "You don't know what kind of idiots come to this store." To say I was surprised is an understatement. I was actually thinking, did he just call me an idiot? He then walked away after punching in his numbers without taking the alcohol bottle and removing the security top. I then had to find him again to remove the top which he did without another word to me or a smile at all.
I frequent this Meijer often, in fact this week alone I have been there 4 times. I truly believe this is not the kind of employee you want representing your company. I would appreciate you checking into this matter for me. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at [removed]

customer service;cashier
07/11/2017, store# 21, cashier Mallette (Moe).
I visit your store at least 2x a week and today was VERY unhappy with my cashier this morning. She was very slow, dropping items into the bags very UN-gently and kept saying over and over, "I'm not used to this shift, I'm not used to being here at this time", this was her excuse for all my complaints.
She didn't take my coupons and then I had to ask her to take them and she had checked me out already. She did get me a refund, but after several minutes trying to figure it out and then calling for help. These are only a few complaints I am listing...there are more...She was very unfriendly and it was just not a good experience for me, so much that I am writing this note, which I don't ever do!
Thank you, I love Meijer
ongoing pharmacy issues
I will begin with the most recent incident that had me decide to finally send a complaint/suggestion. I just want to start by saying that I love meijer, that it began as a family business, and that it is michigan based — I love supporting this company; however a series of issues with your pharmacy has me irritated and considering changing pharmacies (If not changing stores altogether, as I don't have time to shop in multiple locations for food and pharmacy).
On monday, july 3, 2017, I received a text reminder to refill my prescription (I love this service!) and was given the option to press 1 to fill it. I received a confirmation at 12:06 p. M. Stating that the request has been placed. I waited several hours before going to meijer (Ford rd.in canton, mi) to do my shopping & pick up the rx, but when I arrived, I was told it wouldn't be delivered until tomorrow (Tuesday). This is a common medication (Metformin — and please know that I am sooooo appreciative at the medications meijer provides for freeeee!), so i'm not sure why it was not available to fill in the store. When I asked why I wasn't notified that it wouldn't be filled, I got a sarcastic answer from the young man and a snicker. I pointed out that I didn't think it was funny and walked away, but hesitated long enough to look back and see him making a face about me to another customer! I waited so he would know I had seen him, then left. Suggestion: if the computerized system can detect when an rx is due and can accept the electronic request to refill, perhaps it could be set to let us know if it's not going to be ready that day (?). I'm only glad I didn't wait in the drive-thru lane to learn this.
So you will understand why this is likely "the last straw," I have had other frustrating incidents, as well. One example: I had a surgery and was prescribed three follow-up medications, one of which was norco (These were sent electronically by my surgeon directly to the pharmacy so they would be waiting). My parents drove me through the pick-up window, as I was unable to drive post-op. We went home, they got me settled, and left. Only then did I realize the pharmacy only filled 2 of the 3 prescriptions! I had no one to take me back up there! When I called them, I was told I have to ask specifically for that med to be filled. What? I was told this was the case at all pharmacies (I wouldn't know, as i've never taken a controlled substance before) — that I have to ask for those rxs to be filled. Suggestion: if possible, could they at least ask which prescriptions you would like filled? This would prompt a customer to state specifically the medications and accommodate this requirement for your pharmacy. Imagine the lack of sleep I got that night without any post-operative pain medication...
There have been other incidents (2), but I believe you get the point. I appreciate the opportunity to provide this information in hopes it will improve your customer service.
customer service
I have always used meijer as my main grocery store even after I moved. I have always found employees to be kind and helpful. Today was a different story. I did my shopping per usual and went through the self checkout lane. I bought 2 cups for soda after checking for an out of order sign as it is out of order rather frequently. After paying I went to the machine and there was no ice which way an inconvenience but not terrible. My boyfriend filled his cup and the soda was very warm. I went up to the clerk that looks over the self check out and told her the situation and asked if I could just get some from the gas station. She said that was not allowed and laughed at me and said that I could go to customer service. She then asked which lane sold me the cups and I said I was in self check out and she laughed again and said "oh". So my annoyance started there. If the clerks know that the machine is down and they don't have a sign up then they should remove the cups from self check out. So I went to customer service and waited in line. The woman who helped me seemed to be annoyed to be there. She fumbled with my receipt and could not get it to scan and could not get the cups to scan. As she was giving me my change back she said "All of this for $2.78." with a lot of attitude so I replied that I asked if I could fill it at the gas station and I was told no. To which she gave me a snarky "Sorry." I left very upset about how I was treated. Your customer service should be happy to help with any big or small exchanges or returns. And to top it off she gave me all dimes for my change. Over all I was very unsatisfied with my service at the meijer house n Brighton Michigan today and feel that the staff need a quick re training on customer service. I work with people daily where I work and I would never imagine laughing or being snarky at a customer.
meat
I just had it this time! I bought a ribeye steak for $17.69 and of course there's a hidden hack job under the label. I'm furious! $17.69 is pretty expensive for a steak so I expect it to be cut properly when I unpackage it atleast. I think it's very deceiving to do this to your customers. If it's a hack job of a cut then lower the pricing of it showing the hack job. Normally I don't complain about this but it's out of hand. I buy large steaks to split between two people. It's becoming every time I but a steak. I'm about to stop buying meat from Meijer all together and start going to an actual butcher.
bicycle
I bought a Schwinn GTX2 bicycle there for almost $300. On my 2nd time out with it, on a family bicycle ride, the crank broke off which started a series of events which led to a crash.
I was closer to meijer than my home so I brought it straight to them.
They were not concerned with the fact that I was wasting my entire day dealing with a junk bike I bought there when my plan was to have a nice day with my wife and kids. They weren't concerned with the amount of money I spent on the bike or with the fact that it was defective which led to a crash.
I was unable to ride the bike and, although they had the bar code sticker on the bike still and I bought it with my debit card, they still wanted the receipt. I had to walk over 2 miles to get the receipt. Couldn't find it and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. I had the bank transaction, the exact time and day I bought it, even the register number and they wanted the receipt. They sold me junk. They had proof that they sold me junk. And didn't care. I will never go back. I've spent thousands at meijer but recently every experience there is a nightmare. I am done and would encourage anybody in the market for a bicycle to buy theirs from Walmart or a local bike shop.
horrible employees and experience
Hi my name is Crystal and on July 1st I went with my family to the store and we were walking from the baby section to the dog food and I slipped in what looked like pop and almost fell. There were three employees right there that watched and did do anything or even see if I was ok. I just had a baby on June 27th and I was pushing a cart with my 4 day old and my 2 year old and your employees can't even ask if I was ok. I ended up throwing a blood clot from my uterus causing me to bleed very bad and severe pelvic pain. I have never had such a bad experience at Meijer until now.
m
not being able to find ricotta cheese
So I looked everywhere trying to find ricotta cheese and I couldn't so I picked up one of the red phones and I talked with someone and they said they would send someone to help me but no one every came so I gave up and went to pick n save and spent my money I could have spent at meijer there and also saw there were stuff a lot cheaper. So I finally found it there but I do enjoy shopping at meijer for the most part but just got really ticked off after that
