customer service
First I would like to thank Meijer Corporate for sending me the coupon booklet. Very kind and useful. I saved $5.00 which isn't much but, better than nothing at all😀 ( that $5.00 can go towards gas for the car).
My concern however is when using the Self Check Out machines. Sometimes they work properly other times not so much. When scanning items sometimes the kiosk may lock or miscalculate. I go to Meijers usually very early in the morning to avoid crowds (thank you for your 24 hour service). When needing assistance with the Self Check Out kiosk sometimes the staff are not available or will just stand there looking at you. So today I decided to go to a staffed register counter and I must say the employee was not very nice. Her behavior seemed somewhat rude (her name was Deborah). I also go to Meijers because it's very close to home with a huge grocery section. I'm not sure because it's early in the morning or not being people persons but, it's not the first time I've experienced rude behavior from the staff at Meijers Westland at that time in the day.
Thanks for the survey please advise regarding matters.
customer service
I visited a store today in Bolingbrook, IL and myself along with another customer waited for over 25 minutes for help in the Meat department. I wanted help really bad so I wondered over to the Deli department where 2 people were working. They paged someone 5 different times ( I was wondering why one of them did not take the initiative and just try to see what they could help us with). I continued to walk the store until I ran into a gentleman putting produce up. His name was Jaime he tried looking for someone but after no success he put gloves on and said " I can try to help with what you want". I really appreciated his efforts, he was able to assist me. I was very grateful as many people just advised us they don't work in that department. I was so stunned he was the youngest person I asked and he was willing to take initiative without hesitation. That young man is going places ( if not only because of his can do attitude). I am still upset over how long it took for me to even find someone that could assist. I go to that store often and it is always hard to find someone to assist in the meat department. I am sure there is alot of revenue lost just because there is no one ever there.
pharmacy customer service
Called to check on a prescription at the pharmacy was immediately put on hold and remained on hold for 22 minutes. Was treated horribly by technician Amanda B after I was left standing at the counter when the technician waiting on me went to check on the prescription not the first time I've been treated or watched others be treated horribly! Amanda B needs to be reprimanded!
Amanda B needs to be removed from her position as she is not capable of handling the public without passing judgement and letting her own thoughts and feelings get in the way of doing her duties with integrity and respect. She was awful and showed my 3 year old how not to treat people!
manager named greg
My mom and I were back to school shopping yesterday, in the craziest I have no idea what I did with the receipt. So today when I tried to exchange a broken lunch box, 2 pairs of underwear, too small and a pair of pants, the manager said in his 33 years, he has never returned or doesn't do store credits. He argued that the lunch box wasn't broken. I felt like I was 2 years old. This is NOT what friendly service Meijer stands for! Fred would be very disappointed in his staff.
The manager’s name is Greg and he works at the Meijer on Morris Rd. In Swartz Creek Michigan. I am not sure if Greg was just having a bad day, but he made sure to tell me to read the sign. This was of course in front of other customers, which made me feel as if I was in the wrong. It was $60 worth of underwear, a pair of pants, and a lunch box. He made me feel as if i was trying to return $600 worth of items. This man obviously doesn’t know what customer service is and owes me an apology, as well as, the other customers he made feel uncomfortable.
movie buying policy
I was trying to buy a copy of Deadpool 2 and was asked for my ID. I didn't have it and was told that I couldn't buy it because I didn't look 40. Since when did someone have to look 40 to buy a product? There was no indication in the electronics department that I needed to provide ID to purchase this movie. I spend a considerable amount of money in this store every week and was very angry at this policy. I will NEVER buy any general merchandise from any of these stores because of this incident.
pharmacy technician
I went to the Meijer pharmacy in Michigan City Indiana today. I usually get ALL my families prescriptions filled there. However, after today I will NOT go back to that one! I have cancer and am very sick. And my insurance just got cancelled. I have to wait til the 1st of the month for my new insurance to start. But I cannot be without my pain medication. So when I got there, I was told by Joanne the pharmacy tech, that my scrip for Percocet was going to be 180.00 cash. I then proceeded start to ask her a question. As I was asking (and was clearly, visibly upset) she just interrupted me and started talking over me. I let it go that time and answered her question. by the 3rd time I was still trying to get some information through to her and get a question answered without her interrupting and talking over me, I told her she needs to STOP IT! That she should have the decency to let me finish a sentence first! At that point she stopped talking at all. I was able to get a discount that I found online, and got finished with her, but as I am already handicapped as well, when I drove away in my electric cart to finish my shopping, I felt I was treated very poorly, and like I am just garbage to her! it was a humiliating experience, being talked over, as well as talked down to by a very condescending person! I am not some uneducated junkie. I have a hard time sometimes talking since I started heavy chemo and treatment it takes me a minute to form the right words, but she just acted like I was an idiot and was wasting her time. !I left the store with tears in my eyes. She should not be working with the public! especially with someone who is handicapped and/ or has cancer like me!
no one at at self checkout to assist
I went shopping this morning at the Meijer in Bolingbrook, Illinois. This store is located at the intersection of Janes and Boughton Road. While checking out I had a coupon (Meijer Store Coupon) for buy two get one free cat food. The register said I needed to have an associate to approve the coupon. No one was at the front to help. I went to the produce area and asked a worker to page some one to the front to assist. After 10 minutes no one showed up. I left all of my groceries and walked since I could not pay for items and I could not wait any longer. This is typical of the poor service at this location. I stopped using the C-store 4 years ago due to poor service.
the employees
I literally shop at Meijers about 5 time a week. Only because it is close. Every single time I go to the Deli, the women are extremely rude. Some of that may not be their fault as an average wait time at the deli is 10 mins.
Last night I asked the girl for BBQ Chicken lunch meat. When she got done, I said oh what is that. She said oven roast. I said oh, I want BBQ chicken. The 2 gals then mumble about me as I stood there. I then said Oh, did I say oven roasted. The one girl said I think so. I said I apologize then, I will take what you sliced. Then I told the gals that I would appreciated them not talking about me while I am in front of them.
This was on 8/19/18 about 800pm. The one gal who is always rude if Tammy and I cannot recall the other girls name last night.
I really hope someone addresses Tammy. She is very rude. So much so, if I know I have to be back at the store in a day or 2, I will skip the deli if I see that she is working.
In addition, at 8:30 last night - 2 regular registers where open and the lines were so long. It was ridiculous.
limited checkouts open
I just shopped at Meijer on Wilder Rd. Bay City, MI at 10:00 p.m. and out of 30 checkouts not including the self checks there was ONE CHECKOUT OPEN. That is ridiculous. Try doing a big order on a little counter that kept saying item removed from bagging area. We had no place to put all the bags. We spend about $800.00 monthly and this isn't acceptable. It wouldn't cost you that much to keep another couple people on later. Unless your customers don't mean anything.
products not marked for sales price empty shelves
I purchase grocery's from Meijer on weekly basis from the Warsaw Indiana store. Every week we are being charged more at register than sales price and the products they do have on sale there shelves are always empty I love the employees their and I've complained about this problem before things seemed to get better for about 1 month and the last 6 weeks items are ringing up incorrectly and I'm tired of telling the cashiers someone needs to get products marked correctly and scan correctly and start stocking your shelves Warsaw store has declined dramatically since it first opened and if a product is advertised that product should be available I've tried shopping at 7am at noon in the evening it doesn't matter there's always a problem Meijers is going to lose my business they need to clean the Warsaw In store up
Groceries are expensive enough without continually having products scan for more than what there advertised for
customer service
I was just at store # 246 in canal Winchester Ohio. An entire section of self checkouts was closed, so I went to the section on the other side of the store. The checkout that I was trying to use kept malfunctioning and would not allow me to scan my items. I waited for the cashier for assistance, but they never came. After several minutes, I had no choice but to take my purse and walk out. Isn't it the cashier's job to stay vigilant and watch the check outs, not only to watch for theft, but also to provide assistance if needed? The checkout kept alerting that assistance was needed, but I was ignored. I could have just walked out with the cart and items, but I didn't.
pharmacy
Last month apparently my dr had a start date of July 12th on my adderall prescription but the pharmacy filled it on the 10th. This month my dr has a start date of August 10th that makes 31 days until i get My refill. This was not my mess up this was meijers and i spoke To a woman named Henrietta who was so rude she was making comments about me needing my fix and trying to get my refill early. I was so insulted i have been on this medicine a good portion of my life and take it as prescribed to be treated like that when they are the ones that made the mistake was very disheartening. I spoke With someone later in the day that states they can't fill early when there is a start date...well you can't say that because that's exactly what they did the previous month! So because of their mistake they are not willing to assist me so i wait 31 days until my refill. Whatever happen to customer service? I dont Even care if i have To wait until Friday to get it. It's the principle at this point i the Customer did nothing wrong but I the customer have to pay for meijer pharmacies mistake. It's not right Walgreens pharmacy here I come.
customerservice
I just left your grand ledge location. Your problem is an employee named Warren W. There is a 70yr working a Uscan, at 2:30pm on a Saturday. He is helping a customer scan no less than 40 items through a 20 item or less lane. All of the help lights blink as he remains oblivious. He should have told them to go through a real lane, not breaking the rules for them to everyone else's demise.
When he finally gets to my coupon, after fixing the machine he rips the coupon from my hand as I'm trying to insert it, to do it himself as if l were going to pocket it! This is not my first beef with Warren. He hovers over you, starring into your bags, making sure you are being honest! Hello! There's machines are calibrated to weigh items! Get off my back and stop treating me like a criminal for self-checking.
This is a failure of management in both quality and quantity of the staff.
lack of open registers
830 pm of Friday, August 03, 2018. Only 3 lanes open with at least 10 people in line at each register. Most people get paid on Fridays so you would think there would be more help available during such as busy time. This seems to be the case over the last couple weeks. Surely something could be done about this. Waiting in line for over 30 minutes seems ridiculous to me.
bakery
I had a Jurassic park cake ordered for pickup today, placed a week ago. First they couldn't find it, than she said to come back in 20 mins, so I did..and it was the wrong cake and they did not care to recognize that. I showed them my order form, in which she goes, we dont make that cake. Would be awesome info at the time of ordering. And very rude service on top if THEIR mistake
meat department/management
I have a trouble many time in the last year at the bowling green meijers the meat dept has either forgot to do my order lost it or did it incorrectly on the last occasion I was promised by jordan that he would make sure everything was taken care of when I returned for the 3rd time that week they had my order ready but it was incorrect I ask for jordan that day but it was not there I was then directed to a lady manager who I have dealt with on a previous occasion when the meat dept could not find my order she found my order but did nothing to make up for the extra 30 minutes I spent while they looked for my order. She gave me the store directors number I chose not to contact him as that would have took even more time out of my week I would have. Thought he would have contacted me if he was even made aware of the situation I left my contact info with jordan and the lady manager. On another occasion a week prior I had to go to service next because some of the 10/10 items were not ringing up correctly this happens a lot their were 2 ladies at service desk told them the liquid soap was not ringing up correctly patricia did go at check that item but when she returned and I told them that the frozen sandwiches rand up incorrectly also she point blank told me they were not on sale was to lazy to check the other lady adjusted the price but I didn't appreciate patricia telling me I was wrong. My husband and I spend a lot of money at meijers especially in the meat dept but no matter how good the deals no deal is worth the constant bad customer service. Another I mentioned to the lady manager was that no one is ever at the meat counter I always have to knock on the door to get someone's attention another bad practice at this time I will not return to meijers until someone shows that they care about their customers I work in retail our management would never let a customer go this long with out trying to solve the problem I hope someone that cares about the meijers stores will read this because from my experience store managers customers managers and meat dept managers do not have their act together or do they care of a customer ever comes back. I would not recommend anyone going to the bowling green ky meijers.
holton road, muskegon michigan store
The bread slicer in your bakery at the Holton Road was pulled for being unsafe. I can appreciate wanting to keep your employees safe, but are you going to replace it with a safer bread slicer? I regularly purchase your ACE Rustic Italian Oval loaf and have your staff slice it. Inconvient for me, I have to travel across town to another Meijer, so that I can have that service. When your inventory is being counted, the Ace bread sales will have slowed way down, because of the lack of service. Before long, you will probably discontinue the Ace bread, due to slow sales. Please bring a new bread slicer to your Holton Road Store.
cart incident
I was at my local Meijer's last night (Kenosha, WI, around 4:30pm) to get a few things, when all of a sudden my 10 month old starts crying. I look down and realize she got her foot/leg stuck in the cart. (She was fully buckled in and feet in proper places when I put her in the cart) I try to be super mom and bend the cart to free her leg, but wasn't able to, so panic kicked in and I thought, "Tool Section" so I booked it to the Tool Department and found an employee, I tell him I need his help, and that it was an emergency. I told him I needed a crow bar or wire cutters, and that my baby's leg was stuck. Meanwhile an older woman jetted down the aisle to get me baby oil, another gentleman comes over and also tried to bend the wire and wasn't able to. Your employee returned with a wire cutter and tried to pry the cart to open up but wasn't able to, I told him please just cut the wire. He didn't think he would be able to, he thought the cart wire was too thick, I told him to try it anyways! So, low and behold he was able to snip the wire and get her free! A moment later another gentleman employee came over and asked if everything was alright. I informed him of what happened and that was the end of it. Although I am grateful that we were able to free my child's leg, I am disappointed in the follow up of the incident. No one had me fill out an incident report, no one offered me a new cart, as the one I was using now had a cut wire, no one offered ice or if I needed any medical attention for my baby. I'm happy to say that my daughter seems to be ok from the incident, but I definitely wanted this documented in case anything should arise. I must also say that this was also a tramatic experience for myself as well as my 3 year old who was in tears, as she was scared for her sister. Also, after checking out, I simply rolled my now damaged cart out to my car and simply put it back in the cart corral. I'm not sure if anyone else will even notice that it is damaged until the next incident occurs. I'm asking that you look into the design of your carts as well as implementing some sort of procedure for when your guests get injured in your store. I would appreciate a follow up in regards to what measures will be put in place for the future.
u-scan cashier
I visited the Ypsilanti, MI store on 7/30 and was checking out around 5:50pm. I'm aware that the U-scan lanes are express lanes and for shoppers with 20 items or less, and I approached them thinking I had around 20 items to purchase.
As I started scanning my order, the cashier stepped up right behind me and yelled to all people checking out and those in line, "Please be aware that U-Scan lines are for orders of 20 items or less!". It was clear at the time she was passive-aggressively referring to me, since I had a couple large items and it looked like I may have way more than 20. It was extremely embarrassing to be shamed in front of all those people.
When I finished my order, the machine stated I needed cashier approval to finish. She approached me and loudly told me again that these lines are for 20 items or less. It was very unprofessional for her to feel the need to once again tell me off about my order size. I told her I was sorry and understood, and then she proceeded to walk away before assisting me with completing my order. I had to call her back and ask her to help with my screen, which she did without a word to me.
As I was walking away I checked my receipt, I rang up 25 items. I understand I was a little over the limit, but I don't think 5 items is worth me being purposely humiliated by your staff during my shopping trip. It was extremely rude and unprofessional.
being surrounded by several employees accused of theft
Hello. I am writing because I was at your Southport Indiana Meijer location address 5235 E Southport Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46237 one morning and was shopping where out of nowhere my cousin & I were surrounded by several employees asking to check our bags. We agreed. We were taken to the cash register where when our clothes were being rang up out of nowhere we were asked to leave and not to come back ever we were trespassed. I had every bit of $600 if not more of merchandise to buy because of back to school shopping. I'm disabled and i was given some money by some family members to purchase clothes etc for my children. I am a mother of 4. My cousin had at least $300 she was going to spend. I think I may contact an attorney this is not right. They refused to ring up our items and made us leave the store. I don't mind being tresspassed because I am humiliated. We were belittled and made to look out like thieves. I hate being trespassed I love your store. I love all Meijer but the way we were treated was inhuman. I will be contacting an attorney we had no intention of leaving without paying. We didn't walk past point of sale we were in a aisle walking and was harassed out of nowhere and they ended up checking our purses and didn't even ask. It happened so fast I didn't get anyone's name. I would appreciate if something is done. If not my attorney will be in touch. You can contact me at savannah3240.[protected]@gmail.com
I feel like not only am I owed an apology I should be about to get my items I was purchasing. Maybe a gift card etc idk but I know my rights and I will take action & so will my cousin.
