Netflix inclusion of gay characters in programming for children

My kids were just watching 3 degrees below zero part 2 seeing as we enjoyed the first part. I was upstairs cleaning and came down to my children asking me questions about why there were 2 girls kissing in the show! My kids are six and five years old. There is absolutely no reason that they should be exposed to this kind of content at such a young age.

We have had this issue with several shows. Usually in season two is when this stuff comes out. Voltron did the same thing. I remember the show from my youth so you would think it would be okay for children to watch, however I think it was season 6 once again a gay character is revealed. Another program "the dragon prince" did the same thing in season 2.

We enjoyed the story of all these shows but have had to stop watching them due to the inclusion of homosexuality in them. This is getting old. The ratings on these shows should reflect the content and I would say that any show that includes such elements should at least be tv-14. This way as a parent I would at least be able to know without screening the show that it is actually appropriate for my children.

Netflix your choice of programing (aziz anzari's new show - why are you providing a platform for those outed by the metoo movement?)

I would like to make a complaint as to your choice of programming. I find it incredibly disappointing that you would choose to provide a platform for Aziz Anzari to make a come back after being outed by MeToo, wherein he provides no apology or ounce of accountability for his actions but instead points the fingers at others. Will Netflix be providing platforms to others such as Gian Gomeshi as well? Did Netflix consider the impact that glorifying these men has on those impacted by the MeToo movement themselves.

In future, please know that if you continue to provide a platform to those outed by MeToo, that I will return to complain, along with a host of signatures and attention seeking social media commentary holding you accountable as a content creator and curator.

Kind regards,
Lauren Howlett

Netflix foul language - designated survivor series 3

My wife and I join with many others in expressing our disappointment with the needless introduction of the foul language in series 3, Netflix needs to wake up before they lose numerous customers, including us.

Obviously someone or a committee of people thought it was a good idea to make this change in the scripts, let me assure Netflix that this was a very bad idea, my suggestion would be to change the remaining scripts immediately before any more episodes are filmed to try and redeem yourselves, we along with many others will not be watching the remaining episodes but if we get assurances that future scripts have been amended we will start watching again from that point. I doubt it will be a difficult task to remove the offensive words as they appear to have just been thrown in here and there so they won't be missed or leave any any gaps that need filling!

Do we know if Netflix will even see our complaints?

Netflix stupid! dumb! idiot in charge! stop jumping to promos at end of movies!

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! The hubris is unmatched and really spoils the good thing you have going. I'm quite upset with your insane concept that you should jump to a promo for the next best thing right at the end of movies while you squeeze the credits to a tiny box. This is so stupid, it brings into question every other judgement you make.

You are Netflix. I have complete control over what I watch, when I watch it. I'm not panting as the last scene fades to black from one movie to jump to another by responding to what you think is the next trending movie that satisfies your promo desires. Let the god damn credits roll! Let me see where the scenes where filmed, or who played who. Sure, I can find all that out on IMBD, but I'm watching the movie on your f-ing system. Please allow me the choice of when I'm done with this movie.

Stupid! It's just so blatantly stupid that is shows your success has killed your understanding of how different you have made the viewing experience. Don't spoil a good thing. Eventually, I'll get to watch all the movies you have. Give me a chance to take a breath, soak in what I've just experienced and then let me decide where I'm going next. So, stupid!

You build a system that allows full choice by the viewer and then you take it away. Stupid!

Pissed and complaining to friends,

Greg Gilmartin

Netflix autoplay after completing an entire season. (ps4)

Does anyone else think it's invasive that netflix automatically begins counting down to playing a random show after you finish a season during the effing credits?

This is incredibly disrupting to the experience.in my case after finishing the last episode of the last czars, some aziz ansari stand up preps for autoplay.

Why are you trying to force me to begin watching something when I just finished a whole season? Sure, I can select the credit screen in the corner, but the full screen distraction is super invasive and i'd just like to sit there and think about what I just completed.

Netflix tv shows

I am extremely upset, as is my family, of the cancellation of Santa clarita diet. And every one I've talked to is also crushed, you left us with questions. Why are you always cancelling shows that are actually amazing! Along with the price increases, I'm thinking whether I'd care to even continue on with Netflix. I realize that my family is only 4 people, but we really enjoyed it, it was hilarious and obviously fictional but not scary, so my kids could watch it with us. Color me disappointed...

Netflix cancellation

I, too, will be cancelling my subscription with Netflix since you will no longer retain Friends after 2020. It is a staple in my life when I need to unwind before bed. I have no reason not to peruse other sites now that it doesn't much matter. I will attempt to purchase the complete seasons through another venue and cancel Netflix at that time. I'm beyond disappointed.

Netflix stranger things season 3

We have watched the first 2 seasons of Stranger Things as a family and enjoyed it. We were looking forward to Season 3. We will no longer be watching this show as the language is atrocious. This is not appropriate for a family. I am finding the language on many of the Netflix shows are bad and once it starts, we will not watch them. It is a shame you have to have kids use this kind of language. It adds nothing to the show and in fact distracts from the quality of the show. There are plenty of shows, such as Heartland, that have long seasons, are popular, and don't need that type of language. Surely your writers are intelligent enough to find alternate words to convey their message.

I agree. There seems to be a clear pattern. Mr Hastings, the head of Netflix, feels that our children and grandchildren need to hear swearing and even incestuous comments in season 3 of Stranger Things. Mr Hasting allowed Designated Survivor to go from one of the most inspiring shows ever made to pornographic. I had to stop watching. Mr Hastings as a philanthropist I am sure you are raising your children to think of the greater good. Why are you trying to drag our children down?

Netflix taking away shows

I'm going through a quarter life crisis and the only thing keeping me sane is binge watching Pretty Little Liars and now they are taking it away. Every time I get in to a new show or movie, they just take it away. Pretty Little Liars is fairly popular and one of the best shows on Netflix, it makes no sense to just take it away. Thanks A lot Netflix.

Netflix stranger things animal abuse

I am disguested that Netflix would allow programs that show animal abuse.
This is disgusting and inhumane to show rats exploding and dying. We are supposed to be a humane society and for you to allow such content is despicable.
It warrants everyone to send complaints about Netflix to all media to cease and desist showing this type of content.
Will broadcast this to fb and to media.

Netflix designated survivor iii

One of the best series I've seen in a long time, just became the worst ever. Season 1 and 2 of Designated Survivor was entertaining, good storyline, fantastic acting - even refreshing! As a leader of thousands, it even inspired me to keep leading diligently. But my goodness - what an unexpected shocker Season 3 is? I had to turn it off within the first 15min. Friends and colleagues all around me are also complaining.

All the absolutely unnecessary profanity?
The forced sex scenes of all sorts?

WHO'S AGENDA ARE YOU DRIVING HERE?
It really fells like my favourite clean family-friendly show has been hi-jacked.

No Netflix - "clean up" you act, please.

Agreed 100% ! I couldn't have said it better. I'm appalled NETFLIX! Stop making so many MA shows. We don't like the unnecessary profanity! We don't want the sex. Our world is bombarded by that outside our homes. Please make it stop and keep the entertainment cleaner and more family friendly in our homes. BOO to you! Please please please clean up your act.

Netflix designated survivor season 3

Watched seasons 1 and 2 and adored the show, fantastic deep characters and brilliant fast actioned storylines that didn't get boring. Started season 3 and it was noticeable straight away from the first scene that something was horrendously wrong... Why so much swearing? The show was popular before without all the foul mouth language and now you stick it in? Why? These characters got their points across without swearing, they used other, more descriptive words to portray their disappointment and now the script writers have reduced them to using swear words ... Now I've only watched 1 episode of season 3 and am already complaining - I can see I'm not the only one either, and from reading some of the other things on here it looks to be getting a lot worse (or if I was in designated survivor - a [censored] tonne worse). I will not be watching anymore or the season and will not watch it until it has returned to what I originally enjoyed watching. Can't believe the cast are all on board with this as well?
Please remake it, because I absolutely love the original show!

Netflix non english shows

I am reaching out to you to complain about all the non English shows and movies. There have been quite a few that I have wanted to watch just to find out they are not in English. Netflix is starting to become a major disappointment due to this issue. It appears that more and more of this is taking place. It would be great to watch something in the main language in this country. For this reason I am about o cancel Netflix which is a shame because I really do enjoy the English stuff which is on in English and am at the point of canceling go somewhere else. The price has continued to increased with shows that are not in English. I do feel that this complaint will go nowhere and that is a shame.

Netflix designated survivor season 3 – what happened?

We have been watching the Netflix series Designated Survivor and the first two seasons were very entertaining. Good acting with an interesting plot line and plenty of intrigue.

Just started season 3 and the show has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. There are obviously new writers. A good plot and story line have been replaced with vulgarity and gratuitous sex. When creativity is replaced by this vacuous attempt at scripting it is a sure sign that the show is heading down the toilet. Why the introduction of so much foul language? It adds nothing to the story. Rather than deep, well developed characters, it makes the cast sound like shallow, low-intellect losers. And I know that Hollywood feels obligated to promote LBGTQ, but is it really necessary to display explicit homosexual sex without a warning? In addition, a show that managed to be non-biased politically is now a poster child for the hard left.

Netflix had a good show but have managed to turn it into something that is now unbearable to watch.

Netflix release time for show

I have been told multiple times stranger things would be released July 4. I stayed up till midnight to watch a show that only your company provides. Then I see at midnight it's not available. I go on google and find out it isn't available until 3pm central standard time. Your service is garbage. I keep it for 3 shows. And if you say July 4 then that means midnight in my time zone. You have marketing out there that I should binge watch on July 4. How the hell do I binge an 8 hour season starting at 3pm? Your company has ruined my night. I took off work so I could relax and watch a show and just put my feet up and your company has ruined that with their false marketing and [censored] time zone rules. I'll be cancelling my subscription this weekend.

Netflix designated survivor series 3.

What a shame! I enjoyed the first two series' only to be BADLY put off after a few episodes of the third! The use of the 'F' words adds absolutely NOTHING, zilch, zippo to the dialogue, so why put it in?
The other issue is that of showing a same sex couple 'doing it' in a bedroom scene. Again, nothing added, but plenty taken away - I have decided not to watch any more of the episodes as I don't want to be polluted by what comes in to my home through this TV program.
What was one of my favourite series' has now mutated into one of the worst that I have ever had the displeasure to watch.
Any more of this & I will switch to a competitor (one that starts with a 'P')!

Netflix designated survivor content changes

I was very happy to see that the Designated Survivor series would be continued on Netflix after being dropped from ABC. I was looking forward to "binging" through the series as time allowed. However, my happiness was turned to disgust after viewing just the first two episodes. You've taken a show concept that was predicated on a virtuous man that was thrown into the impossible role of trying to fulfill the office of the Presidency. The ABC version displayed a imperfect and totally "greenhorn" president who consistently strived to do the right thing no matter where the political pieces fell; and he surrounded himself with an imperfect staff that grew in their admiration of his character and values, which began to show in their own lives. What a refreshing break it was from our current political reality. You didn't have to be aligned with any particular political party to dream about what our Presidency could look like. It was a show I would proudly recommend to my children and grandchildren as the ideal for the way our highest office should be run. However, Netflix has perverted the entire concept by lacing the script with absolutely unnecessary profanity..."F-bombs" and other crude and lewd language from characters that we'd grown to like. I struggled to watch the 2nd and 3rd episodes with several day's break in between in order to hope for a better next episode. Last night, 07/01/2019, I watched most of the 4th episode and had to turn it off in the midst of homosexual intercourse between two men. For what purpose is all this? How has any of this enriched the plots? You have taken my favorite show and shoved it into the toilet. You have lost me as an "original content" Netflix watcher.

Netflix inappropriate changes to a netflix series

Designated Survivor Season one was an exceptional series with an excellent story line. The characters were engaging and endearing. It was a show that the whole family could watch. The second series has been disappointing. I do not see the need for the obscene language and sexual scenes. Especially the sex scene between two men. What are the directors and producers thinking! I can understand the concept of understanding and accepting same sex attractions but there was no need for the pornography. There is no need for pornography period in cinema or television. This demoralizes the human being - female or male.
I ask why was these changes made to the series of Designated Survivor? If this type of filming continues soon it will be acceptable to watch child pornography. It is a slippery slope. There needs to be a moral standard in cinema or television.

Netflix roswell new mexico

Watched Season 1 and came away with the feeling that Netflix is using the show to fight Racism, bigotry, and stereotypes by being racist, bigoted, and reinforcing stereotypes. This show is one example but seems like many of new programs are also taking the same disgusting tact. If Netflix doesn't stop trading out one set of awful behavior to just promote another set of awful behavior, I'll be dropping Netflix.

Netflix designated survivor

It seems that making a political statement has become more important that retaining viewers in this latest season.

The explicit homosexual sex scene may excite 2% of the population but could turn off 40% of the population - clearly a risky business decision - so I am sure it was discussed in depth by the people responsible for the show. The scene was definitely not necessary to further the plot, so the only reason I can see for it's inclusion was to make a very heavy handed political statement in lieu of entertainment value.

We were very excited to see Netflix picking up this show. But with the show's increasingly profane language and now the inclusion of porn, this is not anything close to the show we were anxious to keep watching and you have lost two viewers.

I do wish the writers could learn that just because they have the freedom to do something it does not mean they should do it. I am also very disappointed in Keifer Sutherland for allowing the show to veer so far away from the platform that made it so entertaining.

A very disappointed former viewer.
