Good Morning
My name is Mrs. Sims. My husband and I, are I'm current members of Planet Fitness. My husband has his separate account, and I have mines.
I want to tell you about a situation that happened yesterday, and today.
Yesterday, I walked into the gym, and I was informed that I owed some late fees.
The young lady was a new employee, and she really couldn't discuss my account with me. I asked for a Manager, and she told me that there was no manager on duty. I asked if I could leave my name and phone number.
I did leave that information with her, and the Manager Diana called me this morning. at 9:00 a.m. from [protected].
Ms, Diana was very rude to me and very unprofessional. I asked if the late fees could be waived, and let me just pay the annual fee of $39.99.
She then said NO! I then explained to her that my monthly fee has been coming out of my account for the last 4 or 5 months.
She then checked my account and said "Yeah, for Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec that's it" I then asked if I could go ahead and work out until the situation is rectified.
Since monies come out of my account, monthly... and I haven't been to the gym in several months.
She then said "NO, and if you come up here, and don't pay the fees you're trespassing, and I will call the police. We don't go by check-in"
I asked her was that in the contract to call the police, on a paying customer. She said no, but it's on the door. (There is no sign on the door)
When I first spoke to Diana initially, I asked for the Corporate office telephone number. She said she did not have it, and I could google it. (Unbelievable)
She also said they're going to refer you right back to me. I have put in a complaint with Corporate.
I would like to speak with you about this situation.

Lack of equipment
While there are dozens of treadmills, exercycles, and ellipticals, often sitting empty, there is only ONE recumbent elliptical which is often in great demand. I often have folks “milling” around me to see how much time I have left on my workout. As soon as I disembark and wipe down the equipment someone races over to grab it! Recently an older man sat and just glared at me the whole time I was working out! Due to an injured spine from a long career as an ICU nurse, the recumbent elliptical is the primary equipment I can use without difficulty. I have asked the staff to request another one or two be requested and I know they have made that request a couple times but nothing ever results from their efforts. They were told by the regional manager that is a corporate decision.
I am well aware that gyms are geared to the young, healthy, fit members but we seniors make up a large group and shouldn’t be ignored or unseen by the corporate overlords! Please consider providing us with a couple more recumbent ellipticals to continue our fitness journey.

I went to join today at the Merritt Island, FL location.
I wanted to look around first and I saw allot I am familiar with and allot I liked.
Unfortunately, I feel like you're were missing some key items I feel every professional gym should have.
1. It the cross Chest press where you place your upper arms on a pad and press closer to your chest- the chest fly is more for a professional or male
not a woman who is starting out.
2. A steam room- detox is prudent to great health
(A steam room is NOT a sauna) Steam is wet heat and a sauna is dry heat.
Desired outcome: 1. Would like to see the proper chest press for women enter the club2. build a steam rooms. These are essential for a great detox and a proper workout

I have been a member of Planet fitness for over 5 yrs. Absolutely no complaints till 12/23/2022. My routine is usually 4 times a week. I walked into planet fitness located on 360 Rhode Island Ave, Fall River Mass, to see 3 Planet Fitness employees seating on top of the left-hand side counter? Completely unprofessional then 2 other employees leaning on the counter one who was the manager NOT in ANY Planet Fitness shirt. AGAIN UNPROFESSIONAL. I explained I had forgot my fob-key to check in. I was then told by the MANAGER I needed to download PF app to my phone to check in, then the MANAGER asked for my phone "Give me your phone I will do it for you " I immediately responded back NO I am not giving you my phone NO I am not downloading ANY PF APP on my work phone due to the fact it's not my personal phone I cannot download ANYTHING. The MANAGER was so unprofessional to me he raised his voice loud enough for other people working out to hear. You're going to have to download the PF app moving forward to check in when you arrive. If I couldn't then maybe I should cancel my membership. I was so out raged I found this manager extremely intimidating & vulgar. Never in my contract or any year renewal does it say I have to download Planet Fitness app . I 59 yrs old, I will not be spoken to in this manner, nor will I feel intimidated threaten.
Desired outcome: Wesely the MANAGER should be immediately reprimanded for his unprofessional customer service. I felt extremely threatened & intimidated by his action.
Security in Locker Rooms
I have been stolen from two times in the past two months. Both times from my locker while it was locked. And I reported to the front desk both times and they did not even record the incidents.
These incidents occurred on 11/25/22 for $90 (believe it or not, they left $7); and then on 12/24/22 for $60 (this time they left $3).

Membership
I tried cancelling my membership and they said I have to go into my home store to do it and they shut down so I couldn’t even go there no one could help me, I kept getting charged and now they are saying I need to pay fees at another gym I don’t even go to before I can think about canceling. I have to drive to a completely out the way different store because they wouldn’t close my account before shutting down

Condition of gym wappingers falls
Not sure why there is only one trashcan in the men’s room. Also, not sure why members are not reminded via signage to clean up after themselves at exercise stations, and the bathroom shower drains are filled with so much hair and clogged.
Most of all, I’m a charter member of this particular club. I have been there since you opened since that time you have only had four stairmaster machines. There are 7000 elliptical machines and treadmill‘s. At 4 AM in the morning all four stairmaster‘s are in use. There’s a total of 10 people in the whole gym, clearly you need to study the usage pattern of your machines removed. I don’t know for treadmills and replace them with stair masters. When I asked the regional rep about this she was annoyed, pretty flippant, and said there would be no new stair masters her name begin with the letter “a.” “That is the way we have always done things.” “That is our policy,” etc. Has never been the response to a customer inquiry that successful companies train their representatives to parrot
Desired outcome: Signage, asking customers, to be considerate and clean up after themselves all over the club. How about getting some new stairmaster’s and more of them?
Dirty facility
My wife and I have been BC members of PF since March 2015 in Cookeville, TN. The facility is spotless and the staff wonderful. We are RVers and use PF facilities all over the US. We are in Palmetto, FL this year. There are 2 facilities nearby in Bradenton; one at the corner of Cortez and 14 St. West and a second at 6605 Manatee Avenue.
We arrived in November and start using the 14 St. facility. We found the restrooms to be constantly dirty with paper on the floor and feces on the toilets. Additionally, the Handicapped stall in the Ladies area has been closed for weeks. A men's room urinal has be closed for at least 4 weeks. We usually visit between 7-8 AM. The desk personnel seem more interested in what is on their phones rather than who is coming/going. One morning I tried to ask a question and after asking 3 times I had to wave my hand in front on the individual to get his attention. I called one morning and asked to speak to the manager and was informed there was none.
We switched to the Manatee location and found it to be spotless. We are greeted on entrance and exit. The location is a little farther for us in distance and time but worth our effort.

Age discrimination resulting in defamation
I'm writing to strongly protest my treatment today at the Planet Fitness on Nolensville Road in Nashville, TN. I was waiting for a smith machine to become available when the young assistant manager asked me to come to the desk. He said that several people had complained that I had been staring at them while they exercised. And because of this, he must terminate my membership. He even went so far as to claim that I had committed sexual harassment. Let me express in the strongest of terms that this isn't remotely similar to the truth.
I was doing nothing more than patiently waiting for a smith machine to become available. I can assure you that if this young manager had come to me and explained that someone felt uncomfortable where I was waiting, I would have happily moved elsewhere. That would have solved the problem. As it stands, this young assistant manager has accused me of sexual harassment in the presence of two others...and this is defamatory. I urge Planet Fitness to contact me and speak to me about this grave situation. If not, I fully intend to speak with an attorney. Again, it is in your best interest to contact me and work with me to resolve this matter. I have never been more in earnest about my intentions.
Desired outcome: I demand an apology, a reinstatement of my membership and training for all managers.
Upon reading these horrible complaints about Planet Fitness, I'm finding out just what a Sham this company really is. I'm in the process of filing a civil rights suit against this company for blatant racial harassment by the managers at the gym located in St. Charles IL 2065 Lincoln Highway St. I've been in contact with the states attorney general, and a personal lawyer to get this sadistic situation solved once and for all. This gym is a mostly all Caucasian, Trumpian, Rednecked old-and what seems to be a very uneducated people that frequent this gym. Planet Fitness Corporate office phone numbers are useless if you are trying to make a complaint against their facilities. The phone lines are dummy lines that just keeping repeating the LIE, "they will be right with you" such bull----. I speak with my attorney this morning to get relief for the pain and suffering this company has inflicted upon me since attending this gym. If you have a problem like this, pull public records and find the owner of the gym and seek damages from them directly. If anyone out there of color is being harassed in this manner, let's file a class action lawsuit against Planet Fitness. This is 2022 going into 2023, time to stop what should have ended centuries ago, sick and demented Anglo Saxon cowardly behavior.

The gym in Bayshore on sunrise highway is a disgrace! The floors are fitly, the air is dusty. The contractors leave sharp screw on the floor, they drive the lifts around with no warning, no protection and no spotters. My name is Joseph Way. I have a gym membership at the Planet Fitness, 35 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL [protected].
On Friday November 25th, 2022 at approximately 7:40am I went back to my locker in the locker room of this location and found my lock had been cut on my locker. I checked to see if anything was missing from my locker. My keys (which included my car keys and house keys) were missing. I immediately went out into the parking lot to see if my car was okay. Upon approaching my vehicle I saw a strange man sitting in the driver's seat of my vehicle. He was rummaging through my vehicles glove and interior compartments. The stranger noticed me and exited my vehicle. I asked him what he was doing. I asked for my keys, the stranger said he did not have the keys. I told him I was going to call the police. He then jumped into another vehicle and drove off. I called the Deerfield police and filed a police report. The police caught him a half hour later. He admitted to the crime but did not return my keys. I have left numerous messages for the manager of the gym, which did not call me back. Today I reached her when I called, she answered the phone. She said that Planet Fitness is not responsible for lost items, I explained that this was a crime that happened on the premises of the business, and that charges have been filed against the perpetrator, which was not a member of Planet Fitness.
The manager, Mariah Davis said Planet Fitness is not responsible for anything to do with this matter. I asked that don't you check for membership ID for everyone that walks through the door? I asked her to cover the cost of my replacement key for my car and to have my house locks changed. She kept talking over me saying that Planet Fitness is not responsible. Your website says"It’s our goal to provide a clean, safe, welcoming environment for anyone who walks through our door, and all the equipment, amenities and support you need once you’re here." This is not the response I was expecting based on the claims of your website. I do not feel safe at your gym or now in my own home, because of the criminal incident that occurred at your gym. It leaves me wondering how it happened, if there is always someone checking for membership IDs at your front desk? I will be taking this matter further. Please respond to this complaint.

New club S. Broadway Tyler TX - The showers are always cold.
The new club on S. Broadway in Tyler TX is a very nice club. I have a Black Card membership. Almost every time I go to workout, the showers are cold. I have been a new member since October 2022 and this has happened every time, one or more times per week that I have visited to workout on Monday and either Wednesday or Thursday Apparently, according to staff, there is a turn on/off for hot water, which is turned off by staff, but not turned back on correctly? Your staff is apparently unable to resolve this issue, as more often than not, the water is cold. Sometimes a staff member knows how to turn it on, other times, they are clueless. I love the new club, but would like to take a shower afterwards, as I'm trying to squeeze workouts in and often must go straight to work afterwards. This cold shower issue is not something I'm willing to continue to deal with, especially considering the hot water being turned off/on doesn't make sense, but if necessary, a simply protocol could prevent staff from not turning back on. I'm not sure why staff is unable to ensure hot water is available at all times for members, but am considering changing to a different club as a result of their lack of concern and attentiveness to the matter. I refuse to ask staff to turn on the water ever again, since it sometimes results in a fix and sometimes results in staff acting like they don't know how to fix. Fix the problem or I will be forced to seek a workout center which cares about members access to hot showers. Thank you for your timely attention to this matter.

I'm filling a complaint regarding the racial and degrading attitude i have recieved from planet fitness branch mentioned.
Sometime two months ago, I was working out with only one ear phone to avoid slamming weight without knowing your doing so. An employee of planet fitness work up to me as only person of colour present at the gym at that point in time singling me out saying I was slamming the weight. In her front a white guy that was actually slamming the weight was left alone.
today i was in the men's wash room when she walk straight to the wash room seeing me naked . Because I was just coming out of the shower. She said she ask if anyone was inside but that was lies, because i had someone inside as a witness. I felt degraded and disrespected.
I went to the manager to complain to her, all she has to say was only sorry. To me sorry is not enough for someone who think i can be treated without dignity because of the colour of my skin.
Desired outcome: I want this complaint to be investigated
Cancelling membership
I have been trying to cancel my membership since July of 2022, I called the location and they told me to send an e-mail to a specific address and request cancellation, here we are in November and I am still being billed, trying to contact customer service is a nightmare, any calls are met with an automated machine that repeats the same line no matter which button you press, if you happen to get a live person on messenger they still repeat the same response as the automated lines. Now when I finally get some kind of an answer I find that the location is closed for renovations, so I can't even call them there, and I am now being told I need to mail a certified letter to get the membership cancelled!
Desired outcome: Just cancel my service, I should not have to go through the hassle of sending a letter to cancel my membership in the information age of computers and cell phones, it's absolutely ridiculous.
