In 2014, I joined your club, at that time there were written applications. I tried out your club along with two other friends and we decided to go to a different space. I called I was told I have to come in sign out, we did so; we joined the other club “they had a sauna”. In 2022, I rejoined the Allentown West facility. I was told that I owed money to your club, I went back to my bank I reviewed, and the money that I owed was for charges your club was charging me for not paying the fee to be a member. I explained that I was no longer a member, but that you kept billing me, therefore that’s where those charges came from. I didn’t feel it was worthwhile arguing back-and-forth because that’s what management did so I paid it “sometimes you just have to take the highroad”. I joined the gym. I was going to the gym. The weather got better. I canceled my membership. I made sure I spoke with the front desk to ENSURE everything was clear. Yesterday I rejoined the exact same GYM, Allentown West. I got out of work I prepared early this morning to come to the gym only to be told that I have that balance from 2014 and that I could not join the gym that night even though I had already signed up online, there were no managers available and they would not let me use the facility. I said if you could look in your files, you would see that I paid the fee and that I was here last year… That did not matter. I was told that I had to leave!
Desired outcome: Credit to my account for this INCONVENIENCE!! And repair of the issue!
Charges/ cancellation fee
My teen used my card and opened an account under my name and i was charged $24.00 then $49.00 dollars. When i called to get information on how to cancel i have to go to the gym location she had selected and then they stated i have to pay $58.00 dollars to cancel the membership. i explained that i didnt create the account and that my daughter never went they didnt care at all and said that if i dont pay the cancellation fee they will continue to charge me. They also stated that i will not get a refund for any transactions that have been done. I dont know why they wouldnt refund me for the transactions and why i should pay a fee to cancel sometthing i never set up.

Gift Certificate Redemption
I won a donated gift certificate that is a 1 year black card at any PF LLC gym in 2018. After winning this donation I contacted corporate in CT and my loca PF in Plattsburgh NY, where it says to contact for any questions. I asked, “what is the expiration date for redeeming this gift certificate?” I was told, “there is no expiration”. Now when I attempt to redeem it I’m being told that there was an expiration date and I’m past due. Seems like bad practice to deceive a customer and get out of a 1 year black card donation.
Desired outcome: To redeem the gift certificate I was told had no expiration.
Restroom cleanliness, rules not enforced

This concerns my local Planet Fitness Gym located in Centereach NY, but I understand that it applies across the entire chain. After a brief absence from my PF gym I returned to find that all the strength equipment had been rearranged. The new floor plan is cramped with most machines too close for comfort and definitely not ascetically appealing. If whoever in "corporate" came up with this idea actually went in an used the equipment, as presently set-up, they would quickly realize what a bad idea it is.

On January 6th I signed up for planet fitness. On Jan 7 I cancelled as I found out I have a heart issue. I emailed several times and just got ignored. I called 3 times and was told it would be cancelled. It never was and now they have taken another almost $30 out of my account which is gonna make me short for my rent. The woman manager that was working Jan 24th at 12pm was rude disrespectful and should not have a job in coustomer service. I’m a bronze star recepient and have served my country proudly. And this is how they treat the elderly at planet fitness on New Haven road in Naugatuck. They are charging seniors for the black card when the stuff that they charge extra for is t even available and hasn’t been for months yet they keep taking peoples money. I have 17 signatures of seniors that are being over charged and I’m going to go to the district attorney to see what if anything can be done. This is rediculas and somebody need to do something. The manager needs to be fired and monies need to be returned to all seniors and members being charged for things that aren’t available. Please help me get my money back as this has caused tremendous stress for me and I’ve asked them repeadly and I just keep getting hung up on.

General gym management
Planet Fitness - Prescott, AZ - State Rd AZ69
There is always something wrong at this location - exercise equipment is malfunctioning, TV's are shut down, digital readouts don't work on units, massage beds/chairs are out of order, hair dryer holders are broken, faucets in the locker room are blocked off, faucet water can either run extremely hot or cold. Several days, they were out of paper towels to wipe down equipment. Sometimes the drinking fountain is blocked off. Most annoyingly - the music that is piped into the locker room. The average age at this location of the patrons during the day is close to 55 years old. The patrons do not appreciate hearing rap, or millennial hits blasted over the TVs in the locker rooms. In addition, during the winter, the women's locker room is FREEZING. I was told that the thermostat is 'automatically' set - which is hogwash as I am married to a construction manager who could fix the heating problem in a second. The result is that women run the showers much longer to 'heat up' the shower stalls. What a waste of water - in a state where we are very cognizant of wasting water. There is no reason for this failure of heat in the locker room.
I don't mind a few machines being shut down at times but every single time an exercise routine is interrupted by a glitch is inexcusable.
Desired outcome: more timely repairs / solutions to out of order equipment. Music played which is appropriate for the current patrons. Hotter water in the women's locker room showers and heat in the entire locker room area in the winter.

Both memberships cancellation papers were given to the fitness centers on Jan. 10. I was still charged both membership fees because it was stated that the cancellations were not bought in until the 11th.
But upon reading the contract the incorrect dates are written on them which makes the entire contract null/void.

My member ship was terminated by the gym because I asked a question of there front desk staff that upset them and they became extremely rude with me. They, Karlee Arden of Planet Fitness, signed my contract cancellation form not myself for policy violation after she was extremely rude to me on the phone. I asked for my monthly fee and my yearly maintenance fee back she said your not getting it When I spoke with Mark Tower, Director of Operations he said he didn't care he was standing behind his staff and he would not be returning my fees. I have never seen a business, especially their directors be so rude to a customer.
Planet Fitness management were abusive and canceled my membership. My signature was forged on a cancellation form where the manager signed herself as merely Karlee. They have not sent me any proactive amount refunding what I had paid for the rest of that month or for my yearly membership. I believe that my contract was breached and that this manager who I found out from the internet was Karlee Arden and was the assistant regional manager publicly bullied me and made false assertions about something I had said. I tried to access a website that was provided online:***@******.*** and couldn't get through. I do have an option that I have not tried and that is The District Manager but I am surprised that he had not been apprised of the situation and done anything about it. It appears that Karlee Arden contacted Mark Towers, Director of Operations, Canada and he phoned me and was very aggressive, sided with Karlee and he was the one who told me that my membership was cancelled. ****** had not done so. When I requested that membership fees should be returned on a proactive basis, he did not reply. I am seeking my 40.95 yearly fee withdrawn Feb 1, 2022 and my half of my $26.24 monthly fee as the membership was terminated mid month. Total being $54.07
Gym membership
I was interested in starting going to the gym and there was a Planet Fitness in my area, so I checked it out. It was pretty nice so on Oct 2 2022, I started my membership. I was told I would be billed $39 annual fee on the 1st of December. I wasn't sure if I wanted to be with the gym gym long term so wanted to make sure I canceled before. I looked thru the terms and conditions (https://www.planetfitness.com/mobile/terms-use) and there was nothing there on some special cancelation process or anything.
I paid the monthly membership fee of $25.05 on Oct 17 2022 and Nov 17 2022. I had only used the gym about 4 times so I decided to cancel my membership. Around 20 Nov 2022, I checked with the front desk about the cancelation process and was told by the girl you can just call or cancel at the front desk, no problem.
Then, several days before Dec 1, as the terms and conditions stated 24 hours before you needed to cancel, I went to the front desk of the planet fitness to cancel. The lady there said that as I was canceling less than 10 days from the annual fee due date, it would be charged the annual fee and they couldn't stop it. I asked to clarify because it seemed strange to be charged an annual gym membership fee after I canceled my membership and she confirmed what she said.
I reviewed the terms and conditions thinking I missed something in the fine print, but no, I didn't. I got billed on my credit card the annual fee of $39 on 8 Dec and I disputed the charge with Amex. The merchant stated in their evidence that they had a "30-day cancelation policy" that I wasn't in accordance with. WTF?
I never agreed to a 30-day cancelation policy.
So the business practices used by Planet Fitness are not honorable and I would trust them with your credit card
Desired outcome: Return me my annual fee and stop charging people an annual fee after they cancel their gym membership
Arrears account
I was in arrears with my planet fitness account and was handed over to Saya Recoveries. I paid the amount outstanding on 15 December 2022 and mailed and whatsapped the proof of payment to them. Now I found out that I used the wrong reference number and now Saya is telling me the amount was wrongly allocated and paod to planet fitness for someone else.
I have spoken to Lydia at Saya,but not getting anywhere as I have sent my proof of payment over 10 times to Saya. I was at Planet fitness Vanderbijilpark on 28 December 2022 and I spoke to a Patricia over the phone insode the gym and she confirmed that the payment was received and that my membership has been cancelled. I keep on getting payment reminders and email arrears notifications from Saya.
Desired outcome: I want confirmation that my account is not in arrears and that my gym contract has been cancelled.

Good Morning
My name is Mrs. Sims. My husband and I, are I'm current members of Planet Fitness. My husband has his separate account, and I have mines.
I want to tell you about a situation that happened yesterday, and today.
Yesterday, I walked into the gym, and I was informed that I owed some late fees.
The young lady was a new employee, and she really couldn't discuss my account with me. I asked for a Manager, and she told me that there was no manager on duty. I asked if I could leave my name and phone number.
I did leave that information with her, and the Manager Diana called me this morning. at 9:00 a.m. from [protected].
Ms, Diana was very rude to me and very unprofessional. I asked if the late fees could be waived, and let me just pay the annual fee of $39.99.
She then said NO! I then explained to her that my monthly fee has been coming out of my account for the last 4 or 5 months.
She then checked my account and said "Yeah, for Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec that's it" I then asked if I could go ahead and work out until the situation is rectified.
Since monies come out of my account, monthly... and I haven't been to the gym in several months.
She then said "NO, and if you come up here, and don't pay the fees you're trespassing, and I will call the police. We don't go by check-in"
I asked her was that in the contract to call the police, on a paying customer. She said no, but it's on the door. (There is no sign on the door)
When I first spoke to Diana initially, I asked for the Corporate office telephone number. She said she did not have it, and I could google it. (Unbelievable)
She also said they're going to refer you right back to me. I have put in a complaint with Corporate.
I would like to speak with you about this situation.
