Planet Fitness Garners Ferry Rd., Columbia, SC Staff Complaint
On 9/28/22 I was in the PF gym on Garners Ferry. I always watch Fox News on a certain elliptical machine and noticed FoxNews was not on anyTV's. However, MSNBC, CNN, and ABC were on the TV's. I went to the front desk and asked the manager, Courtney Gibbs if they could turn on Fox News. She said the package they purchased from Spectrum did not have Fox News. I asked why they had all the other channels like MSNBC etc. She said there was nothing they could do so I cancelled my five year membership and was going to find another gym. She cancelled my membership.
I called the Bush River - Columbia Planet Fitness and the assistant manager said they play all news channels including Fox. He said the staff is not allowed to change the channels, it is set by District Management.
On 9/30/22 I went to PF on Garners Ferry since I am active until October 16th. I noticed that Fox News was on 2 tv's. Apparently, the manager Courtney Gibbs lied to me and allowed me to cancel a five year membership. I tried to uncancel and was told I would have to have manager Courtney Gibbs handle it. If I renewed my membership, I would have to pay the yearly fee again which I just paid on 9/1/22.
I would like to keep my membership without paying my annual fee again.
I would think that managers at the various branches would try to keep the memberships of loyal customers and also I would like to highlight that Courtney Gibbs was unprofessional in her manner of speaking to me when I simply asked about having a specific channel set on the television.

Manager is sleeping with workers and has people fired under pressure
Manager of Rocky Point NY Planet Fitness is sleeping with many employees at this gym. He fires people who are told to be fired by whomever he is ILLEGALLY sleeping with. Mainly, MaryEllen, who's secretly having sexual relations with the manager. Now the manager who has blonde hair and a huge far head is under pressure. To not be let go for not reporting his affairs, is under pressure and allowing MaryEllen to run the entire gym. She is only a worker for 2 days a week. KeriAnne (Overweight overnight worker) has refused numerous times to do any type of work and the manager allows this as well. Due to both of them also having an affair. KeriAnne sits in a chair (NOT ALLOWED) and does absolutely nothing while others are written up constantly for sitting down. There WILL be a lawsuit for these actions, I was fired due to KeriAnne and MaryEllen both making up lies to have me fired.
Desired outcome: ALL 3 OF THEM SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!!
Foul Mouthed Patron
Today on [protected] I was exercising at the 15740 W. Capitol Dr. location in Brookfield, Wisconsin. It was approximately 1:30 PM. While I was exercising a large African American male was also exercising. He was wearing a black hoodie with a black baseball cap. The problem I have is that he was on a earplug phone and talking out loud. There were lots of profanities spewing from his mouth...including f-bombs for all to hear. I did not appreciate his disrespect for the rest of who were there and his lack of common courtesy.
He exited the premises at about 1:45 PM.
Is there a policy of not being on your phone in the exercise area? Is there not a policy of rude, disrespectful behavior?

I walked into Planet Fitness to open a membership. A young lady behind the counter working a conversation on her phone finally asked if she could help me after I stood in front of her for a few minutes. I asked to open a basic membership: She said, "You will need to join online we don't do memberships in the store." I was there, had checks and credit cards and all she continued to say was that I had to sign up online. It is pretty arrogant of any business to believe that they can turn away walk in business. Add to the fact that 30 percent of Kentucky has NO internet it is counter to your slogan of No Judgement Zone. As far as customer service, it's like your employee said "there's nothing I can do" I felt bad about bothering her.
If you have gone self-service put a computer terminal on the front desk with a sign so we don't expect customer service. Sad a couple years ago you had great customer service. I guess you can blame this on COVID too.
Desired outcome: An absolute minimum of customer support at your front desk or maybe put a sign on the door that you don't help walk-ins.
Privacy violation

I bought my little brother a membership at your Claremore OK gym because he is going through a difficult time. His ex has been basically stalking him after she took out a protective order. Your manager at that Gym Makayla Grimsley informed her that he was a member there. And as a result, his ex started sitting in the parking lot in cahoots with Makayla Grimsley. She had been doing that for months thereby making it impossible to use this membership. The other day he didn’t see her car there so e pulled into the parking lot, but then he saw her and immediately left. His ex filed a police report and used Makayla Grimsley as a witness that he pulled in and had him arrested. My brother has had his ex, her entire family, and her friends watching his home and following him everywhere he went.
I am outraged that my brother's privacy was violated, and your manager conspired to get him arrested like that using that membership which absolutely violated his privacy. I want my money for the membership refunded and the membership canceled as well as Makayla Grimsly fired for violating gym members privacy! I would also like to get the video surveillance footage from the parking lot which proves this was a setup. This is not the behavior I would expect from a professional business.

Dear Planet Fitness-
On June 23, 2021, I toured one of your El Paso, TX locations and bought water. I tried to sign up for membership but was unable to as the computer crashed every time it went to process my order. The staff assured me I would never be billed. Unfortunately, I have been billed EVERY MONTH since. I have called the gym, and they have stated that I need to cancel in writing. I have written the club and gotten email correspondence back, stating:
Thank you for contacting us! While we hate to see you cancel your membership, our cancellation process may vary from club to club, so the best way to begin the cancellation process is to contact your home club location to confirm the cancellation policy. For most locations, you can send a letter to your home club requesting to cancel, or you can stop by your home club and cancel in person.
The processing of a cancellation request is subject to any agreement obligations. For more information, please refer to the membership agreement or call your home location. If your membership has a 12 month commitment and you wish to cancel before the commitment is met, you may pay a $58 buyout fee to do so. If you wish to cancel after the 12 months have been met, the buyout fee would not apply. The membership does continue monthly after the commitment is met, until you cancel the membership.
If you are sending a letter, please call the club to verify that your membership can be cancelled at this time. Please be sure your cancellation request (and any payments owed) are received on or before the 10th of the month, if you do not wish to be billed in the same month on the 17th. Cancellations would need to be received by the 25th of the previous month to avoid responsibility for the annual fee on the 1st.
If you have any additional questions, we suggest contacting your home club as each Planet Fitness is an independently owned and operated franchise.
I believe this is fraud and theft. I never got a card. I do not nor have I visited a gym since I TOURED that day. Now I am asking That you are able to address this issue immediately. I have disputed you through my bank. Please correct this.

Desired outcome: Return my money- make this right. Train your staff. Offer cancelation policies that do not require a law degree to navigate.
*cancellation policies - sigh this is such a frustrating process. Look the point is, I do not live in Texas- Canceling in-person for a membership I never finished signing up for is impossible. Please make this right. My PFflock had been cut from my locker September 20, 2022. The music was extremely LOUD ! I asked the acting manager Justin at the North end fitness center to please turn it down. He was rude ! Hateful ! Stated" It can not be turned down." Which is a lie. The last manager turned the volume down to 3 and it was perfect. I am a loyal customer ! Paid all thru the pandemic, and did not go. PLease Please make Justin turn it down. It RUINS my work out ! Justin acts like the music is for him...not the customer.

To whom it may concern:
On May 22, 2022, I started a basic monthly membership at my local PF, located at 1351 S Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC. My billing date is scheduled for the 17th of each month. I decided to cancel my membership on Sept 13, 2022 as I haven't been able to visit the gym as frequently. However, I was advised that due to how PF's billing cycle runs, I would be charged for one additional month. There was a failed billing attempt on my account on September 17, 2022. On September, 21, 2022, I contacted my local PF and spoke with a manager to request a waiver for a $15 late fee that was incurred. The manager declined my request; she advised I would need to pay both the membership fee for the additional month and the additional fee of $15.
I have held a membership for less than 6 months. I paid the $39 annual fee in August, and my account was in good standing when I requested to cancel my membership on September 17, 2022. This request was made days prior to my normal billing date. I will be happy to pay the $10 membership fee for the final month, however, I believe that it is unethical that I am liable to pay an additional $15 fee. I would appreciate any help with getting this issue resolved. Thank you.

I am member at the following location: 1505 N Zaragoza El Paso, Tx 79936. Their equipment has been broken for several weeks. I initially complained to the local manager approximately on 9/5/22, regarding the broken equipment. On 9/19/22, the equipment had yet to be fixed. When complaining to local management, their response was, “Go ahead and contact corporate, they will tell you the same thing.” Unfortunately, their response speaks volumes as they care not about customer service.

Hawaiian looking tattooed guy named Jesus at the Decatur and Fort apache location had his headphones in while I waited for him to check me into the tanning booth, then when he noticed that I was standing there, (after his coworker had to call out his name twice because he couldn't hear over his headphones), he didn't even apologize or say anything about the delay. He instead had a rude look on his face when he noticed that he had to put down his cell phone and do some work. This is also the case for the teenagers or twenty something year Olds at the downtown location, by Sahara and Charleston they are all chatting up and laughing loudly whenever I go in, and then give me a dirty look when they have to work! Hire me to work for u instead, I'll teach a customer service class to these young kids with no discipline and a chip on their shoulder like they think the world owes them something! Otherwise, watch your employees on the cameras and MAKE THEM PUT THEIR CELL PHONES IN LOCKERS! It's absolutely very unprofessional to have headphones in watching videos on your phone while ur at work
I was lied to
I requested at front desk for my membership to be cancelled and I was assured it was by a employee in 2017 .I went in to start a new membership today and was told I could not because I had a bill for 216 dollars for months that I was not even in there months after I was assured by an employee that my membership was cancelled. I was called a liar by the employee today she was rude when I asked for a number for someone to find out how I owed a bill for something I had cancelled.

Club fee charge
In September 2020 I joined the planet fitness gym in Saint Augustine Fl club fees were $41.53 per year with additional fee of $10 per month I canceled my membership on august 31, 2022. On September 1 2022 my checking account was billed for $41,53 club fees. I called the local st Augustine gym requesting a refund since I had canceled my membership. I was told that they would try to put in a refund request but since that fee had already been pending I would probably not get a refund. So now I am charged for a membership for a gym I will no longer be using I don’t feel planet fitness should keep that fee

I tried planet fitness when they had a promotion going on for $10 black card or something like that - in no where was I told I would continuously be charged out of my bank for $15 a month plus an annual fee of $39 - they just recently took out 40$ out of my bank account without my permission, I immediately called - since I stopped going and canceled way back in April of 2022. But since they cannot find the cancelation on file, they continue to charge me, I do not live in the area, and they don't allow you to cancel over the phone or any other near by planet fitness. You have to cancel at the one you signed up at. Which is unacceptable - especially when I already canceled. I'm a single mom of two kids. Inflation is already killing me - and they have the nerve to continulously take money out of my account any chance they get. I asked for a refund and all they said they would do is take away the late fees - but I would still owe over $100 for THEIR MISTAKE!?!?!?!?! Clearly, I have canceled. I have not used your services in months. Why can't I just have my $40 back when you are a multi million dollar company. Is that $40 really going to hurt your pockets?

Membership charges
HI, I have been a member of Planet Fitness for almost 3 years. I took a class with one of the trainers and hurt my knee so severely I was not able to go back or walk for several months. After that covid hit and the gym was closed. I continued to pay my dues after the gym was open but have not gone back until today. I got behind a few payments because I had breast cancer and had to have surgery and radiation and have not been able to work for a long time. I was still being billed. I tried to cancel several times but got a huge run around. I am finally feeling better and went back to the gym today. I was told even though the membership dues were deducted a few days ago I had to pay 138.00 to enter. I am just now able to return to work and am still struggling. Since I do not have that kind of money, I asked them to just cancel my membership, they refused. So, I will continue to get billed until I pay it. This is extortion! My next step is to contact an attorney. I have tried several times to cancel my membership and even went in a few times. Was told every time would have to be done by a manager and no manager was there.
Desired outcome: Either take off the charges and make my membership current or cancel it.
Rude and hateful staff that threaten customers
No trainer on site, haven't had a trainer in quite a while. Instructors just tell you to use the app, which has beginner workouts but no specific plans if you have certain goals. The staff is rude, hateful, and if you ask questions they don't like they will get mad and threaten you. I tried contacting corporate and emailed the owner about the staff's attitude but they have yet to respond or contact me about my concerns. I do not recommend this gym for anyone. Also thier perks, such as massage chairs, angel machine, and tanning beds are always broke.

On 8/14 I came in with my daughter in law so she can check it out and we wanted to go on the recliner in the spa area. we recieved a RUDE 3rd degree from a short brunette gal.stating ruduly am I a black card member? I said of course I am! she rudly states, shes only allowed ONE VISIT! on 8/25 I wanted to use the recilner again(after every workout) and was met by another rude person that insisted I scan my card again. I said I already scanned it and she got a frown on her face and told me it was POLICY to do so I told her really? No one else does it here, i said it must be scammers or something she said all PF do it. Account error
I am writing in reference to my account. I live in Manville, NJ 08835 and I have an account with one of your stores in Hillsborough, NJ (9045). I had set up a black account for both me and my son. One of their employees set up the wrong account for me and charged my card. I spoke with the Manager Jmial who was supposed to correct his employees' errors.
I went in to correct my account, he supposedly corrected my account to be only charged the $9.99 for the black card account, which he failed to complete. I am still being charged $24.95 a month, why?
This is so disappointing that this account has not been corrected, nor have they sent me or my son an email to inform me of late payment. I am so disappointed in this store's service that I am ready to write my review on BBB and Google on how this office does nothing to help their customers. I want my account closed and my son's to be left open. If I do not hear a response within the next 5 business days, I will reach out to higher authority,
