Failed to Deliver as guaranteed
Purlator worst courrier company in Canada - cannot deliver parcels as promised.
Parcel was supposed to arrive Dec 24th by 8pm - guaranteed by Purlator. Shipment was on truck for delivery as indicated on package tracking. Nothing but excuses for delays and failure to deliver - cause was external, whatever that means. My experienec with Purlator is that they are the WORST COURRIER in Canada for delivering anything...even in non covid times...Why a company would use Purlator as a courrier is beyond reason especially since they failed to deliver as promised or guarantee to deliver...
Desired outcome: Item should be free of charge because of Purlator's Failure to Deliver....Cost fo item $35.00.....
General services
This is a general complaint because many aspects of their service is pathetic.
I'll be specific:
I am the receiver (residential)
1) left instructions of signature not required, to be left at certain location on property.
Problem - courier disregarded above instructions, I was not home and so left a non-delivery slip, courier did call (I could not pick up due to work).
1a) received text message notification that "due to high volume" my instructions could not be followed.
For the time it took to write the non delivery slip item could have been placed at requested location.
2) scheduled a redelivery with virtual assistant
Problem - nothing resulted from scheduling this
3) I then received a "pick up at purolator office" email (even though I already scheduled a redelivery)
Problem - dito #2
4) Called purolator to check my package is actually at their office...
Problem: only to receive teleprompts that looped upon itself leading nowhere since I needed to speak with an agent.
5) used virtual assistant to check location of my package
problem: virtual assistant could no longer locate my package and gave a repeated generic error message
4) Called 1-800 purolator number and finally was able to speak to an agent to locate my package.
- drove 20min each way to pick up package.
Total time wasted 1.5hr. I will never recommend Purolator

I would not be as livid as I am right now IF there was a delivery notice left on my door that would have been a physical indication that they actually came up to my door and rang my doorbell (I did not hear my doorbell, nor my door being knocked. There was nothing left there and when I checked the status again, here is the update they provided:

I had to reach out to the CS department where they had informed me that the driver was at the terminal with my package and I would be able to pick it up before their closing time (8 PM).
I drove to this terminal and they had informed me that the driver was not back at the terminal and would not make it before 8 PM, thus wasting more of my time playing a back and forth game. They told me to come back in the morning of December 24th, 2021 and pick it up then.
The whole point of the expedited shipping service and requesting that the shipment to be: "LEAVE AT DOOR PLS" is so that I wouldn't have to deal with this type of situation.

Express envelope
I am literally facing a worst issue with Purolator right now, I have 2 Express envelopes shipped from BLS Canada international office(OTTAWA) TO SAINT-PHILIPPE, Quebec and both of these packages are having my INDIAN Passport & CANADIAN Passport. These are emergency VISA documents and I need them to travel to India because my Father is having a MAJOR SURGERY schedule for Dec 27th and my flight is booked. Up on checking with the tracking of my packages they are arrived at Sort facility and no one is taking care of it. They simply said that there is quiet big backlog of packages at my location (Saint-Philippe) depot so that is the reason it is getting delayed. I requested the higher authorities to give me an option to let me go and collect my packages. But the funny part is they don't know where are my packages right now. I am kind of helpless and am very much worried about my FATHER'S SURGERY and I don't know if i can travel because of these PUROLATOR employee's mistake. I hope my FATHERS SURGERY goes well but if anything happens to my FATHER and if I cant see him, that is on you PUROLATOR.

Order a desk on November 26. Had 3 tracking hits the first few days. Nothing since December 3rd. I ordered multiple thing that day and all came in by December 6. All of them ups. One was pc ram and had to ship back so it's technically done 2 trips. Another item was from Taiwan. Yet purolator has taken almost a month to go across Canada. WHAT A JOKE. How do you manage to lose a desk?

Delivery of an amazon package
I have purchase several items through Amazon in the past year and this was the first that was shipped with Purolator. First, as I live on an acreage, no notice was given that the package was arriving that day. All my other Amazon orders give a 4 hour window when they are going to be delivered. When I checked my door, there was a notification that they tried to deliver the package, but no one was home. I was the told to drive to their depot which is 35 kilometres away. I was also to bring picture ID snd a utility bill to prove who I am.
My complaint is that I took two hours out of my day to retrieve a package that could have been left at my door like all the other Amazon orders have been. My shipper paid to have the package to my address, not a Purolator depot. Your service falls far short of what I have experienced. Other Couriers will leave the package with the closest Post Office or at the front door, but Purolator does not. Your policies are found to be wanting.
I advised the seller of my dissatisfaction and heavily recommended that they use and way of shipping as the negative feedback I have with Purolator reflects on them.

Purolator you are literally the worst delivery company ever. How do you manage to suck this much? Other companies get it right. I put my buzzer code on the delivery info AND in big bold letters at my building entrance and you still never deliver the parcel to my door. I'm literally home 24/7 and now I have to drive across the city to pick up my package. Your company should honestly go bankrupt.

Today I received a shipping of 2 heavy boxes. I live on a second floor. I opened the door and the guy did not answer my 'hello' just dropped the boxes at the door and left. I am 72 years old and cannot take them up. Very poor service from this delivery man.

Shiping fees
Purolator is now a rip off. I have been shipping items to my daughter in US for years and never had a problem until recently. I am not charged the true weight. I just shipped a box which I now found out I'm being charged a broker fee which I have never been charged this before. This box value was just over $1000 for my daughter, personal use, Xmas presents. I previously shipped a bigger box of higher value and was not charged anything extra including broker fee. So now my $1015 value box is costing over $500 Cdn total to ship, that''s a joke! Unsatisfied customer! I'm going back to Canada Post for my shipments.

Delivery Driver
A Purolator Delivery Driver by the name of Joseph decided to not follow our screening measures before entering our Receiving area and when confronted by our Receiving Staff he became very aggressive. This was at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto at 610 University Ave on Nov 30th 2021 at approx 2pm. I have advised my staff to refuse future deliveries if Joseph does not adhere to our screening policy going forward. If you could please address this issue. Thank you.

Driver
I was leaving the plaza on 11/18/2021 when a purolator driver decided to block the way to leave the parking lot. I used my hand to signal to the driver to move out of the way instead he looked at me while he was eating his food. I decided to hook to get his attention to move out of the way since his truck was blocking majority of the way. He still did not move but looked at me and gave me a dirty look. I decided to move slowly drive around him with very little to no space I was able to go around him. A purolator driving should not be blocking the entry way out and in of a plaza where cars needs to be moving on a regular basis. If he wanted to eat his lunch so bad. He could have parked in a designated parking spot.
Desired outcome: I would like this driver to be written up for his actions. I have attached a video for reference with his truck number.

Unvaccinated Covid denying Purolator driver delivering to building with high % of seniors refuses to put on mask properly.
Today, November 8 2021, the driver of Purolator Van (license ending with 550 - truck and full plate number withheld) was delivering parcels in the building.
He got on the elevator with his mask well below his nose. I asked him to put it on fully. He pushed it up but it fell down again because the ear elastics were loose. I asked him again. His response abbreviated below:
"Don't worry about it. It's not even real.", he said.
"Covid is not real? If you think that, you may be a [censored].", I responded.
"No, you are a [censored]. It's fake. No vaccine and I didn't get sick", he declared.
"I lost people to it. The security guard in this building died and infected his mother, who also died.", I said.
"No, they didn't. That's a lie, too.", he declared as he got off on the next delivery floor.
What is Purolator's policy? His denial, his endangering vulnerable populations of seniors, is beyond reprehensible.
Desired outcome: Driver doesn't deliver until vaccinated and wearing mask properly.

Chain of Signature Delivery
I was expecting a delivery on Thursday. Same delivery received every month of medicine only dispensed by 3 pharmacies in Canada. Called shipper at 4:30 pm to get tracking number as must be temperature controlled not left on truck all night. Purolator had no record of package after 11:23 am Thursday. No one looking all weekend. Had to call police.
Desired outcome: Purolator taking danger to public serious when potentially lethal/narcotics are in their custody.
Horrible and awful
Never had issues with any carriers I had. But Purolator delivery personal are too lazy to knock on the door adequately. I missed two delivery attempts even at home with no surroundings noises. Customer Service is awful unable to offer a time frame. AA complete rip off. Result the package would need to go back to where it come without reception.

They didn't ring, I left a stopper on my door so they can deliver my package without ringing the door bell and leaving me a notice to come pick it up. They removed the stopper, and left no notice! The shipper spent 60$ to have this delivered in 2 days and they can't even be bothered to ring the doorbell! This is absolutely unacceptable and highly unprofessional!

Package delivery
Oct. 13, 2021. As I wait for my package at home, I tracked it online until it says it was attempted delivery and homeowner is unavailable. It was a very sensitive and perishable item. The seller used the Purolator company due to it's sensitive content. I went down to check and there was a nite in main door to puck it up in certain location. I am home all day and did not receive a door bell. The driver in this route has delivered several items before and knows how to use the door bell. I find it odd that he just left a note. This is not the first time it happened. It happened several times... I am very disappointed in this courier service and will tell the seller next time not to use it anymore

Purolator left me a "We're sorry we missed you." slip on 10/01/2021 and i was home all day.
I was home All Day on 10/01/2021, the day the delivery was attempted.
Now it says i have to pick it up from next town.
The following incident happened about a month ago and i filed a complaint soon after, but did not receive a reply.
I had one of your employees, break the COVID restrictions, by entering the elevator i was in with another person. The limit for our elevator is 2.
When i asked him to please have one of them step out, because of the COVID restrictions. He said, "well we've been waiting for quite some time for the elevator, so.", then i mentioned the amount of deaths that COVID has caused, he replies with "Yeah, i don't really care"
So not only did he break COVID rules, but he threatened me and my family.
And now, you don't even deliver my parcel to my home. Leaving it in the next city's purolator for me to pick up.
Desired outcome: I want my parcel delivered, but in one piece.
