I was second in line on Friday to purchase a Kenmore Front loading Washer & Dryer set for $599.00. My delivery date was set up for the next day. The next day I called to find out my delivery time and was told the set would not be available until Dec. 15th. I set up another delivery date for Dec. 20th. I was called on Dec. 6 and informed that the set could be delivered early and an appt was set for Dec. 9. On Dec. 8 I received a voice mail confirmation for the next day and a 2 hour delivery window. At this point I had a neighbor come to our house and remove the old washer and dryer. The following day instead of receiving my washer and dryer I receive another call to let me know that my Washer and Dryer would not be available until Feb. 28, 2009. (That is almost 3 months). I now have no washer or dryer. I called the delivery number and was told I could pick out a new set and have it delivered. I went to the store and was told this was not possible. The manager refused to help me and even suggested I get a refund and purchase a new set. When I mentioned coming in and standing in line throught the night for nothing the saleman replied "Well, I had to come in early and sell washers for 5 hours". I have since made multiple calls and everyone just tells me to go back to the store and talk to the Manager. Everyone I call agrees this is a terrible way to be treated but no one does anything. Now I am forced to go the laudrymat weekly and spend extra money I don't have on laundry. This was a great way for Sears to get through the Financial Crisis. They just take money from thousands of unsuspecting customers and make a lot of interest without providing the product for months.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am having the same problem as you are having. I have called and called, went to the store the same as you have an get the same story. Last week i was called by some computer 3 different days saying that my washer/dryer was ready for pickup on the 13th. i went yesterday and they told me that it was a mistake and they did not have my washer/dryer. i am pretty angry at Sears and wish there was some way that i could do something else.
If anyone has had and sucess please let us know.
thanks
Same thing happening to me in Texas. A protest should be organized. What a great way to make it through the recession - STEALING money and interest from customers. SHAME ON SEARS.
My c omplaint is that we bought a front loader 4 yrs ago and now have to spend $400 to fix it because the tech said it had an uneven load and cracked the board...tell me how a front loader has an uneven load...I called many departments in Sears and got nowhere...I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN...complaints go in black whole...I will stick with my local dealer n my small town...they have lots to loose if they do not give good service...but I thought Sears had changed...WRONG
I bought mine, scheduled, and was called and told it was on backorder and delayed 3 wks, but I only ended up waiting a week and a half to get it. They called to set up an appointment earlier than I had been told. The set is crap though. It doesn't always take in fabric softener from the tray, and it never seems to rinse well. Baby socks get stuck in the strange rubber ring around the door. It's already broken 2x. Just the plastic arm-type things in the basket that tumble the clothes. Sears didn't hesitate to replace the parts under manufacturer's warrantee, but I had to put them on myself. If I could do it over I would have saved for a better set and passed on these all together.
