I would like to complain about the service I received at the Cresta mall Truworths on Saturday (27/01/2024). I bought items from the mall as it was 50% selected items. The first item I bought was a bag that did not have a sale sticker on it, however I received at the 50% discount. The second item was a men's coat that was on the 50% stand and had a 50% sticker attached to it, this item however did go on sale and I paid the full price of R 1750 for the item.
When I noticed this I immediately went back to the store to ask the cashier what happened as this item was also supposed to be on sale. The cashier was rude and unhelpful , she told me it was not on sale and there is nothing she can do, if I want I can return the item, I asked to speak to the manager and was told the manager was not in. I told the lady I worked in retail and was a manager ,hence I know the law "the price the customer sees is the price they pay." but since it was busy I left the store with my purchase.
I then went back to the mall the following day (Sunday) , I spoke to a man that I assume was the 2ic , he took out a picture of the sale sticker on the item and told me he will get back to me on Monday. It is now Wednesday and I still have no feedback from Cresta Mall Truworths.
I phoned the store and they refused to credit me, stating that it didn't matter that the item had a 50% sticker stapled to it as the original price was not highlighted. The store as well as the area manager refuses to take accountability for their incompetence. I also emailed customer service, to no avail.
