security and management
So I don't know if any of you know what merchandising is, but basically, my grandmother is a merchandiser, and since she can't drive and she is 71 I take her to these jobs and help her with her work. This time we were at walmart, normally we go in, sign for our vendor badges, and go do our job, normally we fill the balloons up that you see by the greeting card section. The manager was not available, and while my grandmother was waiting on the manager, I excused myself to go smoke a cigarette. I came back in the store, and I guess she had been helped because she wasn't standing there anymore. As I'm walking through the store looking for my grandmother, there are two well dressed managers standing there and they call me over to them, kinda giving me dirty looks. He started asking me what I was doing with a vendor tag, as if I had stolen it and was up to no good. I explained to him that I'm helping my grandmother. He started asking me all sorts of details that I didn't know, I told him if we could find my grandmother, she would be able to answer all of his questions. I was dressed in casual clothes, I had a pair of shorts with a belt and a tank top on. I was clean shaved and just got my hair cut, so it's not like I was dressed all scummy or anything. Because of the managers attitude, I was starting to get irritated, and I told him if it was that big of a deal I'd just go turn in my badge and find my gramma and when she finishes we'll leave. Still he continued to be rude. I turned in my vendor badge, then I was walking to find my grandmother and he was still giving me dirty looks. My friend called me on the cell phone and I answered. As I'm talking on the phone, I look back and realize that both managers are following me. Now really irritated, I tell my friend on the phone, that these guys need to stop invading my space and back the F off. I suppose they overheard me as I somewhat intended them to. I find my grandmother and explain to her whats going on, she continues working, I finish my phone call and go to start helping her. By this time the managers have come to harass my grandmother about my attire, again, I state that it was just a normal tank top, no graphic designs, just a plain top. Then he proceeds to tell my grandmother that I have an attitude problem, and I told him in front of my grandmother that of course I had an attitude, first he was acting like I was a thief before he knew any details, then he was stalking me through the store as I was looking for her. She can be hard to find, she's a short little old lady lol. So he keeps on running his mouth and tells me that the way I'm dressed is the reason I'm filling up balloons for a living at almost 30. This was an insult to me, and to my grandmother at 71 doing this for a living. She had her entire retirement in Florida real estate, and she had TONS of it, she'd be very wealthy right now had the market not crashed, and now she's forced to do these things to make ends meet. Upon being so insulted, I replied listen buddy, F U. he said I needed to leave the store, I said ok, he was still in my space and his partner acted like he was going to grab me, I told him I was leaving and touching me would be a mistake, I was stupid but angry and told him if he wanted to grab me as I was entering my personal property aka my vehicle, I would be more than glad to show him his boundaries. they keep following me and as I reach the exit, I step through the first door, I'm almost to the second door, and 2 security guards come up behind me and say "you wanna step outside now?". I said well, there's 4 of you, so lemme just call my friends and make it even, at this point we were all being juvenile. I reached for my phone and the security guard grabs my phone and trys to twist my hand behind my back, I jerk my phone away and push him off of me, giving him a very threatening glare to which he responded by backing down physically but still running his mouth. I told him he had no right to touch me. He said that they asked me to leave the store, and I said I was leaving the store, just because I was talking doesn't mean I was walking any slower or trying to hang around. then all four of them followed me to my truck, they called the cops, put a trespass order on me. The police officer said to call 1 800 walmart because these guys have had complaints in very similar situations quite often in the past. I called 1 800 walmart and now I have to wait for a district manager to respond to me. even though i'm really disgusted with this store I still shop there, its the closest cheapest place in town to get groceries and my grandmother works there often and relies on me to get her there. The police officer told me I would be allowed to drop my grandmother off at the door and pick her up when she was done, to which the walmart manager responded no. apparently they want to make her suffer for no reason and take money out of her pocket. The security guys looked like they just rolled outta bed and were up all night partying, unshaved, dirty stinky, smelly people, and they were saying that my tank top was a bad representation of walmart, when in fact, I wasn't even a walmart employee, I was an assistant to a person who was working for a company that sells their product in walmart, and was not employed by walmart AT ALL. My biggest point is that the security guy had no right to grab my blackberry out of my hand, he had no right to grab my arm and try and do whatever he was attempting to do, and if I would have fought him instead of just pushing him off of me, I would have been arrested, even though he had no right to touch me AT ALL. I didn't steal anything, I didn't assault anyone, I simply stuck up for myself after being repeatedly insulted by this manager on his high horse. Now I'm working to get the tresspass thing taken off so I can get my grandmother to work when she has jobs there, and so I can get my groceries there. I mean, I know its not a whole lot of money but I spend probably about 3-400 dollars there a month on family supplies and food, and this is how I get treated for wearing a tank top? I can't believe the guy wants to threaten for the 4 of them to jump me but I say I'm calling my friends and he gets all scared and calls the cops. The even more messed up part is that he called the cops, even though I put my phone away, said screw it I'll go sit in the truck and wait for my gramma cuz I'm her ride. I told the one manager that I admitted to being a little upset and that I shouldn't have cussed, I felt bad knowing maybe some kids might have heard me or something, but that he should understand that I am a human, and when I'm insulted, like anyone else, i get upset. The manager left, and security, the little narcs that they are, still decided to harass me and call the police anyways. soooo what else can I say? I could see if I had stolen something, but how can you insult someone to their face, be threatening towards them, act all big and bad, and then call the cops and give a trespass order. The only reason I cussed is because he wouldn't leave me alone and was following me around stalking me and then trying to get me fired, as if my grandmother is going to fire me for sticking up for myself. Any comments?
also @ stealth lol, why did you avoid all of the other parts and only comment on the negative things you were thinking? What about the guy who assaulted me? I know he didn't hit me, but check out how many different ways assault can be taken in court. There were a ton of things the store did wrong, and you commented on NONE of them, you only took the time to pick on me and point out everything you thought was wrong, even though you obviously have some wrong information. And next time you go into walmart, take note to how the people are dressed. Even the vendors, some have uniforms, like Pepsi and coke and Budweiser, a lot of them don't have any uniform and are dressed casual. Some of the companies we have worked for in the past don't even have sign in sheets in the book, and almost all of them are very nonchalant about the whole thing, the part that they get real sensitive over is the report filing. And we've had to report rude managers in the past, because the company that gave us the job didn't contact walmart correctly and the manager didn't wanna take the time to even attempt to figure it out.
I have one last thing to tell you. STOP being a HATER.. Its no good for you :)
btw, I have also worked for many of these companies on my own as a merchandiser, just another thing to add, I'm still on their list, I get emails for jobs all the time but I don't take em now that my grandmother handles the whole paperwork thing.
@ Stealth Pilot - I work on the books for my grandmother who works for a vendor, so they couldn't have arrested me. She has her own company that she merchandises for many different companies. Only certain merchandisers on certain jobs require her specifically to go alone, Like movie theaters during an Open Check. I have been doing this for quite a while with her at this point, and I wasn't dressed like a slob, we live in Florida where it gets VERY hot, no reason to have to get all dressed up to go restock some shelves and fill some balloons and stuff like that. Also, this job sheet came with no dress specifications, where as again, during the movie theater checks, you must dress in business attire. The police officer actually told me to call 1 800 walmart, because he has had to come out for similar things and had a lot of complaints about the same people who were giving me problems. He said there's a good chance walmart corporate will resolve the issue and I will be allowed in the store again.
Now you made a comment, I'll quote you. "If your grandmother can not do her job with out your help, she does not need that job." If this is the only job she can get, which where we live, unemployment is nearly 20%, and they don't go around hiring the elderly all that often, trust me she's looked, You're telling me she should sit at home and not try to make it work, and wait for them to foreclose her home that she's lived in for nearly 15 years?
and she has looked, she has a part time job at night, and I have a part time job at night, and we work together during the day. This is what we do to make ends meet. Up until today, no vendor, no store personel, no one, at all, has ever given us a problem.
The security guard that grabbed my phone out of my hands and yanked my arm around, he had no right to touch me. Tomorrow when I talk to the district manager, I will tell him that I am going to have an attorney subpoena the video from the store, whether this is resolved or not. He has a choice to make this situation better or worse, its up to him. Either way this will see a court room. I'm not a law genius or anything but I do kind of study it as a hobby in my spare time, and I know that he had no right to touch me or my personal property during that period of time or any period in fact, because I was not a thief and I was not "resisting a merchant". I was not a violent offender, I was not raising my voice in front of customers, I was talking calmly as I was walking at a decent pace to leave the store 100% as instructed. Did I make some mistakes? yea, probably, but none that should have had the situation end up as it did. Both police officers sided with me but they had no choice, if walmart wants a trespass on me its up to them.
Again, I feel the need that I do need to state, that I am employed, on the books, by my grandmothers company, and that company does the merchandising, they are not hiring her as an individual, they are hiring her company, name not stated, to do jobs, some of the jobs even require two people. And so you know, all the money I make from working for my gramma, or almost all at least, goes into doing more work and helping with bills. Times are rough, we stick together and do our thing so that we can survive by any means necessary, because we're willing to do all sorts of stuff, we are able to keep her beautiful home, though who knows where the economy is headed from here.. Your statement about she shouldn't take that job is really upsetting to me, She's not the type to sit there and claim unemployment and feed off of the government, she works hard, its how my whole family is, my grandpa works at 71 and he has had a pacemaker put in because he had a massive heart attack and had the largest bypass that they do, and yet he works, doing physical stuff because thats all he can get at his age, nothing heavy labor, but enough that he shouldn't be doing it.. You gotta do what you gotta do. I have a bad back from a car accident that I was a passenger in, I almost died, I'm not supposed to lift much, but whenever my neighbor needs me to help him with his furniture moving business, you know what I do? I go and get that money while I can. You should possibly rethink your statements.. If anyone is going to get a lawsuit, it will be me.

service
As I was checking out the cashier who had a broke arm dropped my milk. She asked if I would like to go back and get another gal of milk. Yet I still had a seperate items to purchase on another ticket. I told her I really didn't feel like going all the way back there to get it. It wsn't my fault it was dropped. She walked just a few feet were 3 other people were standing & asked if one of them could go get me another gal of milk. Needless to say none of them went to get it. As I'm standing waiting for my milk and tapping my keys on the next register while the store manager is on the phone & can tell that I'm getting upset. He never once when he got of the phone, asked if someone was helping me or if needed help. Then on top of that, the 3 cashiers that were there earlier came back one by one & didn't eaven ask if I need or if they could help me with something. So finally after about a 10 minute wait this older man, mucher older man, came and brought up a gal of milk & asked if I was the one that was waiting on the milk. I said yes, but I can't drink whole milk, it will make me sick. And then told the cashier that she needed to go back there to get it. When I over heard that, it pissed me off. She is doing her job & checking out other people. I looked at the manager & it was like he didn't even hear him. This was were he was on the phone. He I told him that my milk was two doors down from the whole milk. (like that was so hard to find). Finally after a 20 minute wait & got my milk. I told him Thank you, trying to be nice, when all I wanted to do was tell them to shove it. The older man didn't say your welcome. So I made it a point to say Thank you louder. Then he said your welcome. i didn't realize it was just a few feet away.
So how I see it, if you have an attitude or just don't care, You can get a job at Wal-Mart.
I think your check out people are overworked. Really two checkout lines at noon. I guess Walmart depends on the self -checkout line. Not my family. Why should we take away someone's job? That's not our job! The End
Why not stop being so high and mighty or rather lazy and go get your own milk. I dont work for walmart but seems to me that you think you are a little better than those who do. No it wasnt your fault it was dropped but the woman has a broken arm, other people to take care of and probably couldnt leave her register. Yes management should have stepped in but they didnt so why not put on your big girl panties and deal with it. You would have saved yourself a good 15 minutes, a headache, the hassle and a ton of ### if you had just done it yourself.
You should have walked your lazy ### back there and gotten your own milk. It sickens me to see how lazy society has become. The girl with a broken arm was probably having a much worse day than you were. You don't know how or why she had a broken arm. It just so happens it was a domestic dispute. She was extremely upset about it and yet she came to work. If she would have called in, you would have waited in a line that was out to softlines. The only thing that makes me upset about Walmart is the clientel that we have to put up with. Everyday we see 5 buggies of groceries that are being "purchased" with food stamps. They get more in food stamps than I get on my paycheck. I'm tired of seeing people using electric carts because they are too fat to walk around or parents that don't control their children. Oh and by the way, there is such a thing as spell check. USE IT. You sound like poor trash without a hint of education. If you would rather wait 20 min in a packed Walmart than to spend 2 minutes getting your own milk, then STAY at home. We don't need to see people like you in the stores anyway!
customer service issues
Walmart Supercenter Store #2777. 13770 W Bell Rd. Surprise, AZ 85374 is a place that many of us residents here in surprise shop, however i have an issue and to my amazement after recently bringing it up with members of my community they have had the same or similar issues. Read full review of Walmart and 4 commentsthey are not concerned about the flagrant discrimination against the disabled
The walmart that I shop at removes benches at christmas time to make room for more product .making it almost impossible to find a place to sit .which as a disabled person, can be an important thing.Ive complained 4 years in a row about this and the fact that they do not have enough electric carts for the disabled, they have people waiting as long as an hour for a cart. Their failure to respond and failure to address this problem has led me to beleive they are not concerned about the flagrant discrimination against the disabled.
My wife is disabled. She can not walk. When she shops, she goes to the store parking lot and parks in a handicapped space and calls the store. They send someone out with an electric cart for her. It's the only way she is able to shop. Even if she had her own electric cart, the home versions do not have a large enough basket to use for shopping. Also, because she can not walk, she would not be able to load and unload a 3 wheel electric cart by herself.
She used to do this at Walmart, until today. An unknowing employee brought an electric cart out to her and she did her shopping. When it was time to leave to go to the parking lot the store manager came over to her and told her that she couldn't leave the store with the cart, even though a store employee was with her. She said " how will I be able to get my groceries to my car?" The manager said "that's not my problem".
I think the previous comments show a lack of intelligence and understanding. I do agree that the disabled are discriminated against at some Wal-marts. I know that in Union, SC that Wal-mart expects the disabled to walk to the store and then shop, BUT then they must leave the cart in the store..transfer the things they have bought into a regular cart and then walk to the car.
Not all disabled have no legs! My mom is 70 yrs old with heart and breathing problems. She cannot shop by herself because Wal-mart will not let her use the carts in the parking lot.
She can barely walk to the damn store muchless transfer groceries from cart to cart and then walk to the cart and off load them.
She lives in another state, so she has no help from her children.
This is rediculous! The Wal-marts in Virginia and in Michigan all let handicapped use the carts and the greeter or the cart guys go and get them.
I am done with wal-mart
Okay I know this is dumb but I really just need to vent. The past few months I have had prescriptions filled at the North Logan Wal-Mart they have screwed up. Now I understand that mistakes can be made but come on, how dumb can someone actually be? I have had them fill the wrong amount on my prescription, I had them try to overcharge me on my prescription 2 weeks ago, when I complained the girl called the insurance company and I was correct they were wrong. Well today my husband goes in to fill a prescription and it was for a 90 qty. Insurance only covers a 30 qty per month on this particular medication which is fine. We have always paid about $35.00 for a 30 qty, well today they tried charging him $60 which he told them that was incorrect and four people at the pharmacy started arguing with him. Well he asked for the prescription papers back and went elsewhere. I called the insurance company and asked them to look it up. They would cover a qty 90 for 78.00 you just have to call in to have it override which Wal-Mart has done on other prescription for me before, and a qty 30 for 35.00. So where they were getting the $60 something from I really don’t know. Needless to say we have transferred all of our prescriptions elsewhere. Before this incident I had quit shopping at Wal-Mart for grocery items since I had a few bad experiences. Since my husband works was so close to Wal-Mart I figured we would still just have our prescription filled there so he could pick them up on the way home. Well not any more. I am done with Wal-Mart. I called to complain and the manager said, “well the pharmacy has been busy since we stared the $4.00 prescriptions”. I laughed what did he really expect me to say, “oh well I understand that mistakes are made” for the 10th time (since this was not the first time this incident has happened to me), or was he simply asking for my advise on how to solve the situation which would have been well hire more people, and if you have a hard time doing that then maybe you should raise the starting wage.
card suspension without any notification
I have had my Walmart Money Card for a couple of years. I recently started advertising my quilts for sale on Backpage.com. I posted several ads in a couple of different states on Backpage and debited the card a total of $78 for advertising. I used 3 moneypaks to add money to my card totalling 120 bucks, nothing outrageous. I went to walmart today to use my card to purchase a DVD knowing that I still had $45 dollars OF MY OWN MONEY on the card, it was declined. I ask the cashier to hold my purchase while I go call customer service. My call is routed to "loss prevention" ? Seriously? In speaking with the non-english speaking person, she advises me that I have done "several transaction with a merchant that they do not deal with." Each transaction was only $4.50. Advertising on Backpage is cheap. I asked her what she means by "a merchant they do not deal with" she avoided the question and asked me why am I advertising with that company? And that she would assume that I read the Terms and Conditions before I used the card. Really? I asked her what it said. She claimed that it states their card is not to be used for business purposes. What? I have used my card MANY TIMES for business purposed for much more than this amount. I have used my card for GOOGLE ADWORDS accounts, to set up a website, etc. Many times. AND these cost me way more than $78! More like 300-500 bucks a pop. This is crazy. So the representative goes on to tell me that they are closing my card officially on Aug 8th and that she doubts I will ever be able to get another card through them. HAHA like I would want one. I would like to make it clear to anyone reading this that my address is up to date on my account, my email address is up to date, my phone number is up to date on my account. At NO POINT did anyone ever attempt to contact me from Walmart Money Card to inquire about my transactions. I would also like to point out they did not block my account because of several transactions, they blocked my account due to my dealing with Backpage.com. Thats crazy. I would also like to point out that when I got home I reviewed the term and conditions of using the card. It says NOTHING about using it with backpage.com, it says nothing about not using your card for "business purposes" NOTHING. I am so livid. If ANYONE out there wants to get together and file a complaint against these idiots PLEASE email me. I will gladly join in!

security
Walmart security in Deming NM goes around town talking to people about who they get shoplifting or who they are watching (even employees). What kind of security is that? Everybody in town knows everything. Security is a local woman.

yes you are right... i learn something new everyday :)
Please dont get me wrong i am not by any means defending anyone whom has shoplifted, I work hard and think that shoplifters should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

4. For damages for wrongful termination.
5. Upon a liability created by statute, other than a penalty or forfeiture.
I guess to put it in short terms you are correct to a certain extent;
For example if a person is accused of shoplifting yet they are found to be not guilty, or not formally charged then the employee acting on behalf of that company can be sued and potentially held responsible for said actions, and i'm not sure about other states but in CA TX and AZ the employer could be held responsible
That could be true depending on the state but if the employee is stating something in which happened while he or she was on the clock that could potentially make the employer liable. I know that in a civil court you just need to have minimal evidence as to proof your case. I am currently studying law and love to look this type of stuff up, I will look up the statute for here in AZ and let you know, but i know there is also something under the federal law but not sure that it would be jurisdictional on a slander/defamation case of this sort.
I agree that is wrong. And possibly illegal, there are some things that fall under public release of information but in that type of situation they would disclose if the person was convicted, charged, accused etc. Under most laws in the united states if a person is not convicted and a person (like this security lady) goes and speaks to the general public about an incident in which said person was not convicted then that would potentially be slander and/or defamation of character and ultimately walmart would be the responsible party for such actions, as the security officer/person would be acting on their behalf even if he/she is not working at the time that the comment is made.
buying cigarettes for disabled person
I went to WalMart this morning buying food for a disabled women. I also had to purchase a pack of cigarettes. I don't smoke and I made a comment about this and this women would not sale me a pack of cigarettes unless she was with me. She told me that I should lie about buying for this lady and then she could sell them to me. I have bought Cigarettes for this lady before with no trouble. She was rude and very nasty about the situation. I asked to talk to the manager and she would not come. I will never go there again. This is the most stupid thing that I have ever encountered. What do people do that are confined to a bed and have the nasty habit of smoking. I have never been so upset with WalMart as I am tonight. It seems like they hire very uncaring people. I know smoking is a horrible habit but when you have the habit it is hard to say you can't smoke anymore although I would like to tell her that. She has lots of medical problems and I do wish she would stop. Has anyone out there had the same problem. Is this WalMart's policy or is this a women with an ego problem.
O.K. This is all over now. I received a call from the manager of WalMart and she was really nice and could not believe this went this far. She was off duty that day and was not aware of this problem. The deal is that a disabled person can give permission for me to buy the cigarettes for her without all the drama. This girl took her job a little to far. The manager told me that she buys cigarettes for her mother all the time. The fact that the lady is disabled makes an exception of the rule. The girl will not loose her job because a women of age buys for a handicap person. This can be proven by going and meeting with the disabled person if there is a question about honesty, Now I can go and continue buying these cigarettes without having to have a lecture from anyone. Thanks for the chance to express my views. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS AND YOU TOO. WARMEST REGARDS barnes57
I do understand but answer this HOW DO YOU BUY CIGARETTES FOR SOMEONE THAT IS DISABLED. She was just showing her authority. Like I said before I have bought cigarettes from this Wal Mart for one year and nothing was ever said before. There is what you say common sense which she had none of...She was very rude and not understanding. Anyone can buy for a teenager without this much trouble. I am all for this being illegal to sell cigarettes for anyone then this won't be a problem.. I think customer service is more important than being just rude and I will buy cigarettes for my employer when she wants them...It is a nasty habit which I wish she would quit. I will not lie about who I am buying these from. I don't lie...I disagree she was wrong and she knows it. I have made jokes to other employees about how great it is to not have the habit. The sold me cigarettes and no trouble ever before. I will even make it a point to buy at this store again just to prove a point One of the cashiers who has worked for WalMart for years sells to me all the time. You still have not answered my question How do you buy cigarettes for the people who can't get out that are house bound...GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS AND YOU TOO. WARMEST REGARDS barnes57
Well in other words lie...This is so stupid. I am a caretaker for a lady 70 years old confined to a bed...I have bought cigarettes for her for two years now. No I disagree and I will not keep my mouth shut. I agree that smoking is bad for you but I have bought at this same wal mart for two years and have never had trouble. I am not a smoker but this is stupid. This had nothing to do with children smoking. She was being a person with authority. Being rude and being nasty will never happen again. I wil buy from someone else. The above person I WILL NOT KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT AND LIE...GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS AND YOU TOO. AND GOD DOESN'T LIKE LIARS...
They were trying to cover their own ### in case you were actually buying them for someone underaged.

the number of pills were to be 60, but there were only 36 in the bottle. I called the pharmacy, asked for a manager. He said he checked all the xanax and it was accounted for. They obviously have an employee stealing them, but he said he would call my dr. to get the missing 24 pills. Of course my doctor said it was not responsible for walmarts errors and since it was a controlled substance, we were out of luck for another month.
He also said the person filling the script was an intern. I suggested they keep a close eye on them.
Dr won't fill either, but there is obviously a problem with someone in the pharmacy. Who do I file a complaint to? The DEA? My mother lost her prescription for meds, so I switched to walmart because all her meds are cheaper there. That being said if you GET the correct number. Who can I complain to as I'm not going to let this be resolved by walmart since they obviously have a drug addict working for them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I Didnt recieve anything and they dont want to refund my money, I really hard scam.
LIER!
do honor their own prices
My wife and I were outside of Walmart looking at some patio furniture and there was a mothers day sign on the furniture for $100 and the regular price was $286. I went into the store to find an employee to verify the price. The employee looked at the price and stated it could be the price because sometimes we have huge sales and nevertheless the furniture was sitting in the rain all night. The employee scanned the item and it said it came up as $286 but she will check with her manager to make sure. The employee called her manager and her manager stated since it came up as $286 thats what the price was. So I left it alone and proceeded to do my shopping. As we walked walked another 30 yards in the store their was another patio set with a mothers day sign on it that stated it was $286 and the regular price was $486. So we went back to the employee and questioned the pricing again. Once again they stated the price was $486 even though the sale price on that piece of furniture was marked as well. To make a long story short we spoke with the store managers and they blamed the miss pricing on kids changing the numbers on their signs and they even blamed it on the wind blowing the numbers off of the sign. To me this was an employee error that I caught and they will not honor the price. As soon as I started complaining the employees quickly started changing the numbers on the signs back to the original price. The managers have acknowledged their error and the only thing Im getting is were sorry. Which is not enough from a leader in the retail industry.
I work at Walmart and this happen all the time. Sometime customers even change the signs theirselves and yes punk kids do change the prices, yes signs do get misplaced. So why do you think Walmart should sell you something for a price that is cheaper than they pay for it? IT IS NOT THAT YOU TOOK A PRODUCT UP TO THE CHECK OUT STAND AND FOUND OUT IT WAS WRONG. THE PRICE WAS POSTED AND YOU CAN TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. GO TRY TO MAKE THE PRODUCT YOUR SELF FOR $486.00. SO IT IS AN EMPLOYEE ERROR. SO WHAT! ERRORS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.
WHILE WE ARE AT IT WHY DON'T YOU [censored]ES STOP LEAVING MEAT IN THE GARDEN CENTER, MILK IN THE TOYS DEPARTMENT AND TOOLS IN THE GROCERY DEPARTMENT JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE TO GODDAM LAZY TO TAKE IT BACK WHERE YOU GOT IT.HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF I CAME TO YOU HOME AND LEFT FOOD IN YOUR GARAGE, TOOLS IN YOU BEDROOM AND DISHES IN YOUR BATH TUB. ALSO KEEP YOUR ###ING KIDS OUT OF THE TOP DEPARTMENT WHEN YOU ARE NOT WITH THEM. THE TOY DEPARTMENT IS NOT A PLAY PEN WHERE YOU LEAVE KIDS WHILE YOU GROCERY SHOP IN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE.
IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND WE ARE SICK OF IT.
return policy
i purchased a pair of jeans from walmart in gardner kansas i moved to portland or. i took them back to a walmart and the said i coudn t exchange them for alarger pair because my original pair was to small for my size all i wanted was asize bigger thank you mike mueller
poor service
I have a problem with Wal-marts return policies! I bought a window air unit 2 months ago it was a GE, something in the electric box was messing up it was turning it self up n down and shuting off n on, so I call GE the 1st time they said they would replace it to take it to walmart and get a new 1, wal-mart said no its been past the 45 day mark so I called GE the 2nd time they said call walmart gave me a different number wal-mart would say different they said we will send u a fedex box send it to us then we will send u a refurbished 1. Are you kidding me I called GE the 3rd time they said they can not help wal-marts return policys that if thats what they said i have to do then thats what I have to do! So lets see I buy a new window unit for it to go out in a matter of 9 weeks, to have to send back and get a used 1! So today there are heat warnings the past week n today, so I have to go purchase a new 1 which won't be from Wal-mart or a GE model mind you just so I can send this 1 off cause it will take a couple weeks to get the other 1 back! So if you think you are buying quality anything from Wal-mart think twice specilay if you are spending your hard earned money only to be stolen from you from Wal-mart! Its almost like a scam!
wal-mart was unable to process our transaction using the wal-mart visa credit cards
My husband and I received 6 Wal-Mart Visa credit cards $50 each for Christmas. We went to the Wal-Mart Super Center in Round Rock, Texas to purchase a $600 laptop but we were unable to use our Wal-Mart Visa gift cards to make the purchase. The register locked up during the transaction and the mgr was called to abort the transaction. We not only had to purchase the laptop on another form of credit BUT had to hassle with Wal-Mart from 10:30 am until 4:30 am to make sure the funds were put back on the cards (normal wait time is 10 days).
Therefore, Wal-Mart was unable to process our transaction using the Wal-Mart Visa credit cards.
"...the register locked up during the transaction..." As a cashier, this tells me that it was not your credit cards, but the register. I can say with 99% confidence that it was just a fluke, and your cards should be good to go next time you want to use them. Freezing registers are not an everyday occurrence and are treated like anomalies.
On the other hand, I have had a Walmart register not let me use more than five credit cards in a transaction (they were VISA giftcards at the time and the register prompted me with "ERROR: and then something to the clear effect of "You cannot use more than five credit cards in a single transaction"). That was perhaps a year ago (people don't bring in 5 credit cards at a time very often), but I imagine the policy remains the same. It probably stems from an effort to reduce fraudulent charges/identity theft.
I do not however deserve to be treated rudely because the cashier is having a bad day
My husband and I went through the holiday section because sign everywhere said 50% off holiday items. I picked up a candleabra from a shelf marked with a 50% off sign where there where at least 3 or 4 other candleabras. When I reached the check out it rang up for full price. I asked the cashier "i thought that was 50% off" she responded sarcastically "We sell this all the time." I said "oh, well how much are the tea lights normally?" (Also in a box marked 50% off) and her response was again sarcastic "We sell those all the time too" I said "Well, I dont understand why they were on the shelf marked 50% off" She says "Well, I dont know why they were back there" and proceeds, I said "Well, go ahead and take the candleabra off" she does and then starts to pull the tea lights back out and I said "No, thats ok I will go ahead and get those" When I went to write a check I asked her if I could borrow her pen. She acted annoyed and snatched it out of her hair and set it on the counter, I wrote my check and then handed it o her only to have her snatch it out of my hand. when she she handed my receipt she very rudely said "Thank you" and started to check out the next customer, I stopped and said "Im sorry if Ive irritated you" She turned to me and said "I said Thank you" Then turned to the customers behind me and proceed to start complaining to them about me. Personally, this is not appropriate customer service but it seems to be common for the Walmart in Thomasville, GA. 75% of the associated there seem to be miserable about their jobs and take it out on the customers. I understand that this time of year there are a lot of cranky, rude customers. I worked in the retail businness for a long time. I do not however deserve to be treated rudely because the cashier is having a bad day.
What city was this in?
lazy zone managers
the floor and zone managers are about as lazy as they come they say they cain't do any work no matter how short handed a section is just walk around getting paid for doing nothing refusing to help a worker even lift or catch up work that needs done no matter how short handed they are, GETTINGPAID TO DO NOTHING.
Totally agree with you! Sad this was posted over 6 months ago and nothing has changed! The store is filthy and the people that work there are so over-worked they can't do their jobs properly. Instead of fixing issues and better training, they say they can't do anything about it or have no way to hold anyone accountable. I think they need to adjust the chain of command, duties for each manager and get back to basics of training employees.
WOW...Well said!
Especially on the whole grocery side. I see all the low-paid, hard working salesfloor workers, overly working themselves as their boss's walk around with a clip board and and ordering device in their hand giving orders rather than to jump in and help them fill those empty shelves.
avoid this store like a plague
On the above date my daughter and I appeared at store #8090 in orlando florida like we did for the past 21/2 years, my daughter is handicap and can not walk two steps and she depends on the electric power carts to shop. We were told that the electric carts could not be taking out of the store because IRON REFORCE BARS WERE INSTALLED ON THEM SO THEY COULD NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE STORE, I was able to get one out anyway. After an hour of shopping my daughter had to go to the ladies room, knowing that the power chairs could not make the turn into the ladies room by customer services, I had taken her to the ladies room in back of the store next to layaway, when we try to go thru the doorway the iron bar was higher then the doorway opening so I bent it to get my daughter to the toilet on time, I was yelled at by a heavy set girl who said I cant bend the rod and was told she will call the manger. A older lady named Stephanie came out from the back room yelling that I could not take the into that handy cap bathroom I ask her what restroom are the handicap to use, she said the one up by customer service, at that time I told her that the power carts could not make the turn. To my surprise nasty she replied "that the power carts are a supplied by Wa l- Mart as a Courtesy" as she was walking from me and saying repeatedly "I cant hear you".
If you think Wal-mart cares you are wrong. I worked at the home office for 1 1/2 years. Wal-mart is interested in MONEY and only MONEY.
DON"T shop there!
clueless people
I bought a few things there and used my debit card. swiped and requested $100 cash back. Transaction completed and then the stupid girl said she couldn't give me $100 because she didn't have that much in the drawer. That was it! She had no intention of giving me MY money after they debited it out of the bank. Not only that, when I asked for a manager, she told me "the manager doesn't have time" Since I obviously needed to cause a scene, The manager finally came over and explained to the dumb girl that she had to give me the money. This girl needs to go back to kindergarten.
To Joey0923, because it's a convenience they offer so I don't have to make an extra trip to the bank. Wow, you're even brighter than me! ###
7-11 would be a convenience store...wawa is a convenience store...circle k is a convenience store. walmart is NOT A CONVENIENCE STORE...its a market...genius. and if you look to the opposite of the cash registers you might find a bank inside the wal-mart. you can use the atm there...genius...but yeah you did the cash back option and they are most certainly obligated to get you your money.
why dont you just go to the bank or hit up an atm the next time? i guess that would make way too much sense...hmmmm. your a bright one. thanks for holding up the line.
was rudely told that I could not enter with my book bag
Today I was at the Hickory, NC WM and was rudly told that I coult, nt enter with my bookbag.I asked why and was told for security reasons.I respond with "what about people with purses/baby bags/brief cases" etc. and was told that was different.I then asked where to put my bag until I left and was told to put it behind a walmart sign that had dirt there from where someone had sweept.I then ask to see the manager for at least a reciept before I left my bag there incase it got stolen since they did not offer a secure area or anything to store it in.The manager came and locked it in a room near the entrance and said to have someone call him when I left to get it back.I then ask him about "why no bookbag" and was given that a bookbag could conceal a weapon.I again ask about people with other types of bags.I was ignored and exspressed my anger at being discrimanated at like this. The manager was J.T. Calhourn at the hickory, nc store.I am very unhappy about this and will persue it further especially since when I left I observed other people in the store with book bags and other types bags.

I work for Walmart. As someone who knows the policies, and sees dozens of vendors come and go, Walmart managers may have had the right to question you but NOT the right to take it as far as they did. And as far as their rent a cop security goes, they had no right to touch you. They have no right to do ANYTHING. I know this because I have a situation in which I need security to protect me from a stalker. I was told that security cannot do anything. Only accompany me from points a to b...But back to the issue at hand. If I were you, I'd make sure that every manager from store manager to district manager to market manager and so on knew about the incident.
They have no right to touch you at all. Its called Assault, and in assault and battery.
