This morning, Saturday, 13 January. I went to customer service in Sussex New Brunswick. I was returning an iPad I bought on walmart.ca.

I explained that the iPad was bought online and that It would not connect to the Internet in several different locations. So something mechanical is wrong with the item. She punches the information into the computer database as to what they called Walmart marketplace. She sees my item that I had bought online and the note that comes up, says it’s not available for in store refund after 30 days of purchase . I explained that it was a gift I had purchased for a Christmas present, and I had to wait in order to get the gift in order to take it back to Walmart. So the lady behind the counter calls for the Manager to come up customer service. Meanwhile, the supervisor returns from her break before the manager comes. We explain the details to the supervisor and she’s able to override the system and give me a credit back on my credit card. I’m pleased everything’s going well well, then I could see the faces on these employees behind the counter, kind of an uncomfortable look on their face. Here arrives the manager. so he starts to speak and he’s looking at me he’s looking at them. I start to tell him what happened. And he so rudely looked at me and said, I’m going to speak with them right now is that OK with you? Is that OK? I was taken back by the way he spoke. I didn’t say much as I was surprised. I said, I was just trying to explain. He then replies, I can get it from them! They can explain it! I said I was just trying to. They can he said. So then they explain what’s going on. Then he turns to me with one arm on the counter, and leaning himself on the counter. Showing that he’s superior to me . And states to me, that it clearly states online when I bought it that it that it was only available to be returned within 30 days in store. I said, I’m sorry I did not say that. He looked at me and says yes it did! I again say, no ! it did not. He then says yes you did! I said I’m sorry, but it did not see that, or I would not have purchased the item, knowing I could not return it after that amount of time. He looked me straight in the face and he says yes you did !

Meanwhile, while he’s being ignorant to me, I can see how uncomfortable he is making his staff feel at this point there is two employees and a supervisor behind the counter with him. I state if it can’t be done here I can take it to another Walmart. He says I’m just trying to explain the facts to you. He’s already explained them twice to me. I accept his facts, but still did not see that. I said to him, at this point I feel you are being very rude. He accused me of being rude. again, not something a manager or a store representative should be stating to a client or a person who is actually purchasing items in their store. Then he says I don’t have to refund you. I said I’ll take it to another Walmart. He says another Walmart will be the same thing! With a very high pitch to his voice. He then walked off. The three employees behind the counter, very uncomfortable. As he leaves, I say well, that was a very ignorant man, and he represents your business. So I asked is he always so rude. One lady just looked at me rolling Her eyes scared to answer me. A young man speechless. Another lady says yes he can be very hard sometimes. But we can’t say anything because he’s our boss! Can you imagine how much intimidations man must present in front of his employees? I said I’m sorry for the way that he makes you feel in front of a customer, because no manager should be making his staff feel that uncomfortable when they are dealing with the public. i’m just there for a refund. So I said, I think I’m going to make a complaint because I probably will not come to the store again. Being new to the Town. The lady behind the counter said I wish more people would speak up and complain about him. So, I have discussed this with many different people today, and was hesitant about reaching out as probably nothing will be done to him because he is the manager of the store. However, I would not want to be the employee under that man. As he is very ignorant from the get-go. He should not be in customer service. And who is he to tell me what I saw and what I did? So, I think head office should know that Mr. Cliff. Drew from the Walmart in Sussex New Brunswick. Should be spoken to and his actions should not be so harsh on people or his employees. And he should not be telling the public, the people, who purchased from their store the people that keep it running here in a small town, what they saw, what they clicked on, or what they did, it leaves me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. Your supervisor at this location was wonderful and she and the employees had this under control. He had to put his opinion in because I could tell he was a big feeling man. Again when I left, I apologize to the three employees behind the counter, who were dumbfounded by the way your manager, Mr. Cliff Drew spoke to me. I apologized for his behaviour as I could see how uncomfortable he made them before he even opened his mouth as he was approaching the service counter. I was going to buy several items there today. And I Again, apologize to the staff for not purchasing items there today as it left a very bitter taste in my mouth on how he conducts himself and Walmart Canada. Also, I have been a very professional person, my entire life, with many businesses under my supervision and ownership. And I would not have one of my employees speak to people the way he speaks to people.

Again, very hesitant to write some thing as I am not the type to complain. But this man needs to School and learn some manners.

Thank you for listening to my complaint. I do hope that my Complaint will reach the proper person, and that this manager, Mr. Cliff Drew can learn from his mistakes and treat people better. Thank you again.

Desired outcome: Corporate office should discipline Mr. Clifford Drew for his behavior, and teach him the proper way to conduct himself

When he kept insisting that you did know you should have said that implies that he can read your mind. Then said that you are guessing between a number between 1 and 100, Then if he guess wrong said he cannot read your mind and hit him for the difference between the two numbers. I do not know if it is the same manager but there was a news story about one of them who was charged because it turned out he took his frustration out on his wife and kids. He has three.
