Wrongful foreclosure and sale
Wells Fargo has stated in multiple letters to me, CFPB, NYS Financial Services that they were not the Owners, Investors, or could verify that they Acquired, Originated or Serviced a Loan or mortgage on my property. Wells Fargo sold my home based on misrepresenting to the courts that they were the owners of the Assignment of Mortgage on my home, which they have admitted after the sale they are not. The people who purchased the property for $850,000., do not realize they don't have a clean ownership. I am in the process of interviewing Law Firms and any other victims, who Wells Fargo foreclosed and did not own the property. This was a Fraud Against The Courts and Me, there is no Statute of Limitations, caused by Fraud.

Desired outcome: Wells Fargo, get your check book out, you have destroyed my family
Online fraud claims department
On May 5th 2023 someone broke into my apartment. they stole my electronics (PS5, 2 computers, 2 phones, iPad) and even a bag with my immigration documents (green card, social, passport from my country) disappeared. At the same time $3500 went missing from my saving account. wells Fargo closed that account and opened a new one and transferred the amount to the new one and the same day there was 4 zelle that someone made from that new account so I never received the money. wellsfargo opened a claim and later on left me in the dark and I found out that they denied the claim without telling me. when I called the representative could not help me and escalated my call to a manager who later on put me on hold for 30 min. been with that bank for over 10 years and it hurts to know that my hard working money saved over six months is not safe and the bank I trusted does not want to help me.
Desired outcome: please return my hard working money i saved for months and investigate issue further.
Extra Grace Day
I am not happy with the false advertisement that Wells Fargo is putting out there for its customers. I had an item come in that was not covered and the funds were in there before the deadline the email which was sent provided. My item was returned and should not have been according to the service you claim to offer. I have been with Wells Fargo for 34+ years and they returned my item for a mere $65 difference, which I transferred immediately into the account!
Desired outcome: Honor your word and go back and pay my item as your company promised you would!!
Online banking
I spent exactly 40 minutes trying to get my online banking set up. Come to find out I had an account 9 years ago and they wanted me to either come in, which I'm no where near a banking center or write a letter with paper work that my last name changed. They accepted me as a card holder but not for online banking? Horrible online programming. My husband could do a better job at fixing the site. Horrible procedures. Who has time to get out their marriage certificate, make a copy and write a letter just to get my accounts merged. Just sad for 2023.
Desired outcome: Get a better website and/or programmers. Merge my info with it being a pain. Who has time for that...
Wrongful foreclosure
Wells Fargo will not respond but claimed they were never the owner. Wells Fargo claimed to be the owner of a mortgage on my home, which they admitted after the foreclosed, and sold my home that was just sold for $850,000. Wells Fargo.
Continuously misrepresented to the Federal Bankruptcy Court that they were the owner, recently they sent me letters stating the can not identify that they Acquired, Originated, Serviced, Invested or Owned a Loan/Mortgage on my home.
I retained a NYS Licensed Private Investigator, to verify documents, they proved to be fraudulent. A employee signed the documents to allow the sale, which has multiple mistakes. They sold my home that was valued at $850,000. for $1.00.
I was paying a bank that actually held my mortgage for a long time.
I wanted to confidentially work this out with Wells Fargo and they can deal with their employees, but the Enterprise Complaints Management Office & Team just lie.
Well You Can't Fix Stupid!
Desired outcome: I want the value of my home plus damages PLUS, do I hear Treble DamagesMichael ColettaCell [protected]
Checking and credit card accounts.
Wells Fargo closed all my accounts due to fraud but then after 18 days Wells Fargo had blocked all my accounts but and then today a banker notified me that Wells Fargo is closing my accounts because I pose a risk. First, Wells Fargo closes my checking account and opens a new one for me without asking Wells Fargo to do so. When opening a new accounts Wells Fargo also subjects me fraud. When I called to get more information there was a very abusive representative. When she sent me a code, I tried to verify the number she texted me from and just about as I was going to read the 6-digit code she tells me that I'm restricted from accessing my account, that I must wait 24 hours or go into the branch that it's 40 miles away. Actually, I've been locked out of my Wells Fargo 3 accounts for 18 days now. So now I have been subjected to fraud then on top of fraud Wells Fargo also subjects me to fraud. As if it wasn't bad enough now Wells Fargo is going to close ALL my accounts. It's intolerable that Wells Fargo, instead of helping me, subjects me to fraud, it's more than I can take. When Wells Fargo told me to go to the bank in person, Wells Fargo is 40 miles from here. I was told I didn't have to make an appointment, but I wasted my time and waited almost 3 hours but didn't get helped. I finally went to the Apple Valley location, but once again, Wells Fargo locks access to my accounts again. Wells Fargo has replaced a new banking account, but still, I was unable to login until last Saturday. Even though, Wells Fargo sent me an email that I'm overdrawn, but when Wells Fargo blocked me, I was unable to do anything. My creditors are penalizing me for bouncing payments and with late fees. Therefore, Wells Fargo has subjected me to the worse hardship ever. As an 80 years of age senior, and my son's caregiver, Wells Fargo's remedy is worse than the fraud. Is so contradictory, just last week Wells Fargo congratulates me for my 4th anniversary with Wells Fargo
Desired outcome: To please do not close my accounts; since, I'm a victim of fraud, not the perpetuator. If Wells Fargo allows me to remain as their customer, it'll be for both of our best interests. You can check my records; I've made my payments on time.
Extremely disappointing customer service
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received at the Wells Fargo branch located at 100 N Citrus St, West Covina, CA 91791. My families are long-time customers of Wells Fargo, and we recently visited this branch to cancel a CD account. However, the first time we visited, we were told that the matured day had not yet...

Wells Fargo Bank teller deposited a check for $1902.63 into my account. Gave back $100.00 to me in cash, then approved taking funds out the next day. After 2 days time, they sent message saying check had bounced, and removed $1902.63 from my account to cover check. This left my wife and I without money to pay for food and bills for the entire month. I don't get paid again until third Wednesday of May. I believe that if they excepted the deposit, they are the ones responsible for the funds, not me. Thanks Wells Fargo.
Desired outcome: I would like Wells Fargo to cover the deposited funds as available balance showed. Not take the money out of my account to make up for their mistake. My wife and I have no money for bills or food! Please give the money back.
Reach a banker
System fights you when you try to speak to a banker, as of course you are aware. If ou get to a menu eventually that offers "speak to a banker" and press zero aqs told you are dumped back into the automated system... Eventually I could get to a banker after about 10 minutes of unending attempts to block me from a live banker. at 9906 Glades Rd. Boca Raton...

On 6.25.2020 someone hacked into my Wells Fargo credit card account. Made a fraudulent payment of $5000.00. Then they put this money into my checking account, then made a wire transfer to a Well Fargo customer. The IP address that made the payment was not mine. I traced it to 3 different locations. Nigeria, Greenville, SC, and Hendersonville, NC.
I did not have 5000.00 to lose. I had to borrow $5k from my brother-in-law to pay this money back to my credit card to avoid Wells Fargo from ruining my credit. I still owe him $1500.00
The IT department needs to trace both (all) IP addresses. They told me that I gave my username and password to these scammers. Why in the hell would I do this to myself?
Wells Fargo is the most corrupt bank in the United States. They have proven nothing. INSIDE JOB!
Desired outcome: PLEASE REFUND ME, and an apology
Unauthorized Zelle to my account
Someone sent me a Zelle by mistake ( $364), and this person called the bank to say it was a fraud. The bank blocked my online banking, and they blocked my number in Zelle. I have been calling the bank for a week, and they haven't been able to help me. I have an impeccable record with this bank for over four years, and now this is happening. I am very disappointed with Wells Fargo. I ask myself, where do I have my money? Why can't they investigate this situation and just blocked my account?
i have the same issue with zelle as well. wellsfargo is refusing to help me.
Online banking & general online account issues
Six months ago (Nov 2022) I was attempting to pay bills online via my desktop computer (no mobile device.) I could log into my WF checking account, but the bill pay section would NOT allow me to pay bills. When I called Customer Service, she indicated for me to go to an ATM machine and it can identify my identity. Being an IT specialist, no bank ATM can verify your identity.
So then she tells me to find a branch, go in and they will identify me as a valid bank account holder. I went to my local branch on Frederick Road in Catonsville, MD and the person who was the acting manager refused to help me as he said he "had to wait for customers to come into the bank." Note: there was no one there except me and the Drive-through bank teller. He would not even call another branch to see if someone was available to help me.
So I drove around town and found another branch whereby the bank manager called WF and filed a complaint as they indicated to her that "I was required to have a cell phone in order to get a text message with a code to verify my identity." The branch manager, Krystal, indicated "there is NO such WF policy." She escalated the complaint in writing while she was on the phone trying to find someone who understood the online banking and could get me access. She did not find anyone to help and said someone will call me from WF to resolve the situation. I went back home and a day later, I had access to pay bills online. No identity verification needed. And no one from WF called me or contacted me about the previous day's issue.
In early April 2023, I was trying to sign into my checking account for my online banking and the WF system would NOT allow me to log in as I needed a code. Usually most businesses will email you or call you with a code to verify your identity. Apparently WF doesn't have the latest technology to verify people's identity even though I have a landline phone (much more secure than a cell phone. and an email address BOTH listed on the WF banking account for more than 10 years!
I went into the same WF branch and Krystal, the manager, dealt with the online banking issues and spoke to numerous staff and IT folks at WF who all tried to tell her that ALL customers need a cell phone to get text messages in order to log into their accounts. Apparently this is NOT true as I had done banking online to pay bills for the last 6 months, WITH NO CELL PHONE.
So I wrote a letter (second one) to the Board of Directors at WF and to the CEO indicating that I needed to find out if WF was requiring a cell phone in order to do banking with WF and if so I would need to close my account with them as I don't own a cell phone and don't do ANY banking or financial business on a cell or other mobile device. Note: I have been a customer at WF for more than 37 years.
In the letter, I included that if this was true, WF would lose a lot of customers who don't use cell phones, etc.
I received one letter, dated 4/12/2023, indicating that it would take some time to figure out and resolve the issue. At the same time I got that stall letter, I received another letter with gobbly-[censored] dated the same, April 12, 2023.
Here's the clause they wrote without any real information in the letter: "We're committed to protecting our customer's data to prevent it from unauthorized access or theft. That's why we need to verify our customers before we release information, perform maintenance on the accounts(s), or complete transaction requests. Our Authentication process of using a one-time password is a very safe and effortless way to verify you with your personal phone that is eligible so we can avoid using other forms of security. This factor is one of the strongest steps we take to ensure safety risk mitigation for our customers."
Note: this information doesn't help me figure out IF there is a WF policy on having a required cell phone to do online banking. AND it states "PERSONAL PHONE." It says NOTHING ABOUT A CELL PHONE REQUIREMENT.
In addition, to add insult to injury, the WF letter provides a telephone number of [protected] for a John Lamia, Executive Office Case Specialist, who never answers this phone number and he and WF have it set-up so you have no ability to leave a message as it doesn't have voice messaging!
Desired outcome: Have someone from the Executive Team contact me and leave a call back number which is actually answered by a human to provide accurate Wellsfargo policy information.
Deposits
On 4/26 I deposited $5280 ($780 & $4500 retirement checks) in my account via ATM machine. However, I forgot to endorse the back of the checks. I had called the customer service line and was told there is nothing that they can do. The hold is on my account until 4/26. I have a house closing on 4/24/2023 so I made an appointment to come in the bank to see if they can release the hold sooner. I was told by Michael (the banker who called the "check" department) that the hold will be released on 4/26 and the checks will be sent back as uncollected funds. Michael suggested that I called the company issued the checks to request a stop payment and have them re-issued the checks (since my closing is on 4/24), I left the branch and within 5 minutes I called retirement 401k company to request stop payment. I was told that those two checks had cleared on 4/17 meaning wells fargo had collected the money. I drove back in the branch and was told that they do not discuss with me and I have to make appointments and the earliest appointment is tuesday 4/25. They told me to call customer service line again because it is customer service issue now. I spoke to 3 different specialist including two executives and they said they cannot do anything for me. I even offered to email the copy showing the checks are cleared and they refused to accept it. They even went as far to say that they do not use email and only use fax - (although fax are mostly now no longer permitted for most companies due to security breach) The last one tried to act like she couldn't hear me and then disconnected the call. I need help in retrieving my money since the retirement company showed the checks had cleared but wells fargo stated that they do not have my money. PLEASE HELP. I am closing on Monday and desperate need of my monies to be released. They did give me the case #[protected] with the "lost and recovery" department and another case # [protected] although these two cases are closed as they mentioned: nothing we can do for you".
Elaine Thai
Desired outcome: I need the deposits to be cleared on my account so I can have closing on monday (the checks already cleared with the issued bank - see attached)
Zelle online scam
On April 6, 2023 my Wells Fargo account was hacked into and two (2) Zelle transfers were criminally made without my actions or approval. On that day there were numerous spam calls and messages to my computer and devices. During that time I noticed a message saying that a new Zelle payee was added to my Wells Fargo account. I quickly logged into my Wells Fargo account and saw where two (2) Zelle transfers had been made to a “RIDLEY GINA”, one for $1000 and one for $999.94. I don’t know who this person is and did not initiate or authorize these transactions.
I immediately called the Wells Fargo dispute line and reported the fraud. They took all my information and gave me a case number. I was told they were closing the account that was attacked and were opening up a new account to replace the old one. Remaining money from the old account was transferred to the new one. They told me to create a new username and login with a new password. I was also required to use a remote “Secure ID” to login. I was never required by Wells Fargo to do this before even for Zelle transfers. The Zelle transfers before were transferred almost instantly. I only had one Zelle payee in my account and that was only to transfer money from my Wells Fargo account to my other bank account.
I called daily to Wells Fargo fraud office and they always told me that investigations were still ongoing. On April 14, 2023 I received a letter dated April 10, 2023 from Wells Fargo stating that my fraud claim had been denied because they had determined that the transactions had been authorized by me. This is absolutely not the truth and is an insulting and libelous statement. It is obvious that Wells Fargo had serious flaws in their account security systems for letting this happen. What’s worse is they refuse to compensate me for the thefts from my account.
According to my investigations these Zelle frauds have happened on many Wells Fargo accounts during the last several months. Also, these fraud transactions are covered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, Regulation E. Wells Fargo is obligated to reimburse me for these fraud thefts and I will pursue all actions to insure this is done.
Desired outcome: Reimburse funds stolen from my account
Hello the exact same thing happened to me as well. same scenario. $3500 were taking from one account closed they opened a new account and money disappeared instantly. they are refusing to help and claimed i authorized it.
What did you do to resolve?
Mailing checking balance check to doigiorbite & wells fargo abusive rep
On 04/13/2023 I was subjected to the worst credit fraud I have experienced. A criminal portraying Experian Credit Bureau revealed ALL my credit cards and personal information. But then, when he tells me that after paying off 3 credit cards for over $4,000 then he tells me that the credit cards will no longer be active because when credit cards have a zero balance, they'll automatically close. This is what clued me that he was a criminal and had all my credit card and personal information. He was calling me from a phone number I called and it't an inactive Chase phone number, the answer we get when we dial: [protected]. When I confronted him this phony criminal so-called Kevin Peter, he said that it was for security reason. By this time I realized he was a criminal and I hung up. Then yesterday he's charging my Wells Fargo Visa for over $3,000 Credit card ending 5695 with names of foreign firms: on 04/15/23: 1. Amount $1,040.87 from GBPRIMEPAY in BANGKOK THA 2. Amount $504.05 from SQ *TEACHING AND PROVIDIN in Kilkenny IRL 3. Amount $498.51 from SQ *TEACHING AND PROVIDIN in Kilkenny IRL. There's another charge from my checking account but Wells Fargo deleted.
Then Wells Fargo contacts from number [protected] indicating it's the WF Credit Card Fraud Dept. I was with a WF Rep yesterday for over 31/2 hours. Then Wells Fargo tells me to mail a check for the entire checking account to Digiorbite Solutions in Overland Park, KS. WF said that I must mail my check to the indicated firm today by 10am. Since, it didn't make sense I called WF today to verify that I was to send my money to the indicated firm overnight and they were going to call me for a tracking number. But Wells Fargo the indicated department tells me not to mail it. That it not how Wells Fargo deals with closing and account and opening a new one. But today when I called to get more information there was a very abusive representative. When she sent me a code, I tried to verify the number she texted me from and just about I was going to read the 6-digit code she tells me that I'm restricted from accessing my account, that I must wait 24 hours or go into the branch that it's 40 miles away. So now I have been subjected to fraud then on to of fraud Wells Fargo also subjects me to fraud. As if it wasn't bad enough now, I can't even access my account. It's intolerable that Wells Fargo, instead of helping me, subjects me to fraud, it's more than I can take. I pray to God that Wells Fargo comes to its' senses. I have reported the credit card scammer to the FTC, Chase and to Wells Fargo; however, two wrongs don't make a right. May God help us. Since, Wells Fargo instead of helping it made things worse. In addition, I had to reset all my 3 emails passwords because all of my passwords did not work. Therefore, Wells Fargo messed me up royally. These is adding extreme work for me to solve, as an 80-yeas of age and my son's caregiver, I didn't need so much more!
accepting a scam wire and and refused to return it
Two of the branches one in Charlotte and one in Daytona received to wires that were taken out of my Chase account and they refused to return in to Chase to send back to me. They rather hand it over to the thieves who stole all my money.
They were reported to the FBI, local police, federal banking authorities and Chase bank and they are not giving it back and did nothing to help out.
Desired outcome: $29,000 returned to me
Wells Fargo Bank teller deposited a check for $1902.63 into my account. Gave back $100.00 to me in cash, then approved taking funds out the next day. Credit card
I have had a credit card with Wells Fargo for 11 years. It was my oldest credit account and it was recently closed for no reason. It is not delinquent, doesn’t even have a balance, and my credit is the best it’s ever been. I have had 2 auto loans with Wells Fargo all in good standing so there’s no reason for them to close an account and hurt my credit.
Desired outcome: Reverse this account being closed so it doesn’t negatively impact my credit.
Checking, savings, and credit card accounts closed for no reason
Cover Letter
I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with the recent decision of Wells Fargo Bank (“WF”) to close my bank accounts and credit cards without any prior notice or explanation. This has caused me a great deal of inconvenience, stress, and has put me in a difficult situation.
I have been a loyal customer of WF for over 20 years and have always maintained a good standing with the bank. I have never had any issues with my account and have always paid my bills on time. However, I was surprised to receive a letter from the bank stating that my account had been closed due to "internal policy reasons".
This decision has caused me a great deal of inconvenience as I have several pending transactions and bills that are due to be paid through this account. I have been left without access to my funds and have been unable to make any new transactions or payments.
Furthermore, the bank did not provide me with any explanation or warning regarding the closure of my account. This lack of communication has made it difficult for me to understand the reasons behind this decision and to take any necessary steps to rectify the situation.
I request you to kindly investigate this matter and provide me with a satisfactory explanation as to why my account was closed. I also request the bank to provide me with the necessary support to resolve this issue and to ensure that I can access my funds and make any pending transactions as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
John Porter
Background
On March 8, 2023, I received a notice from WF, NA (See A) that they will be closing my only checking and savings accounts (acct#s ending with 4959 & 3868). I have no other checking or savings accounts with any other financial institutions. I called the number to the Prevention Contact Center (“PCC”), which was included on the letter [protected]. I spoke to two individuals at the PCC, neither of these individuals were able to provide me with any information as to why this decision was made. They simply said, “it was a business decision” and had no further details. They referenced an agreement that I signed when I was a minor (approximate seven years old) that gave WF the unilateral ability to close a bank account at their discretion. During this phone conversation, I requested they send me a copy of this signed agreement and they agreed that I would receive a signed (by me, John F Porter), within seven to 10 business days. It has not been 20 business days and I have not received the promised document. I then filed a complaint, and they provided me with the following complaint number #030723-CA9E39A46245.
That same day, I called the WF Executive Office of Prevention and spoke to a woman named Katie. Katie acknowledged that “I have a good rapport with WF and have been a great customer for more than 20 years”. She had no access to the information that could explain why my account was closed and simply provide a vague explanation of it being a “business decision”.
The following day, March 9, 2023, I called WF Corporate Customer service at [protected] and spoke to a woman named Micheldra who provided me the Executive Customer Service phone number, which was [protected]. I called that number, which was, and spoke to an Executive Office Receptionist named Jackie. Jackie said that I should receive a call from a case specialist within a few days.
After a few days, I received a call from Executive Office Case Specialist, Deb B and provided her with the complaint number (#030723-CA9E39A46245). Deb informed me that no complaint by that number was in WF’s system and that no complaint had been created associated with my account, despite the Prevention Contact Center’s assurances that one had been created. Deb B then created a complaint about the issue based on my concerns, which was (#[protected]).
After working with Deb B for over a week, she called to inform me that there was nothing that she could do and that my checking and savings accounts would be closed as scheduled on April 20, 2023. This is despite the fact that I have my mortgage with WF and I signed an agreement that I would pay my mortgage using my Well Fargo checking account (acct# ending 3868). Later that day, I received a secure message from WF (see B). Within this notice, they attached an unexecuted “Deposit Account Agreement” that I never signed despite their promise to provide an executive agreement.
Today, April 5, 2023, I received two letters dated March 29, 2023, that both credit cards I hold with WF, NA were closed (past tense) without warning or notice (see C & D). This is even though I have a FICO credit score (according to WF) of 842. Today, I called the number referenced on the letters, which was [protected]. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the representative I spoke with. The person provided me with a generic scripted response that stated the following:
“WF prudentially performs ongoing and continual reviews to ensure our business relationships meet our standards and the intense standards of our regulators. “
When I asked why I no longer met WF’s “standards”, the representative stated, “they are not required to give specifics”. I think expressed my frustration with this response and the representative quickly transferred me (unable to get name), to the WF Customer Advocacy Department.
After a brief hold, I was transferred to a woman named Stefaline (possibly sic) who essentially had me read the letter I received back to her, which states:
“As part of our normal business operations, we periodically review account information to ensure it’s accurate, complete, and meets our regulatory requirements.”
I then I told her I was more than willing to provide any information to ensure my WF account was “accurate and complete”. Stefaline said there is no information that I could provide that could address this issue. I think asked “what regulatory requirements” do my credit card accounts not meet? Again, she was unable to answer this question. I then requested that she opened a complaint with her department, and she provided me with the following number: 04052370BDBBD858A9. She was not able to provide me with a timeline or an expectation on when I would be hearing back.
Based on my previous experience, I do not expect to receive fair treatment from WF and therefore am requesting your attention to this matter at your earliest convenience.
Desired outcome: I would like my bank account to remain open and my credit card accounts reopened and any further action by Wells Fargo to be held in abeyance until a reasonable explanation for why they have closed my accounts can be provided.
This complaint was not resolved.
Check on hold for 12 days!!
I deposite $2612 on my Wells Fargo bank account yesterday, they put my check on hold for 12 days! For absolutely no reason at all, especially because I know really my payers, the funds have been withdrawn from their bank account( this people are very wealthy) and well Fargo is telling me that they noticed irregularities from their bank account what the heck ?! And that is not all, they also put my other check ($272) on hold as well from a school that I work for because they found a signature irregularities! This is a joke ? I read online that apparently well Fargo is fraudulent, I never believed it until now! What can I do? I have bills to pay and Wells Fargo don’t give a damn!
Claim loss payments
I had a house fire in October and the entire inside of my house had to be gutted.
I had no problem with the insurance company or the contractors. Then it came time to deal with Wells Fargo. The claim loss process for Wells Fargo is atrocious. 1st I contacted the insuranceclaimcheck.com people I was told to call when my insurance check came in. I was advised I could take it to my local branch to deposit. So I go to the branch and then get told I had to overnight it to South Carolina thus delaying the process for the first time. Then 3/29 I had my first inspection for Wells Fargo done (It took 4 days after requesting it) The inspector wrote his report and sent it off the same day. Now a week later, InsurancClaimCheck.com site and the person I called say they still haven't posted the results yet and even when they do get them, it takes two days to process. Two whole days to see the word "pass" on the report and post it and then they will eventually get around to "overnighting" the payment. Meanwhile the money has run out and the contractors are waiting for additional funds so they can keep working. I've been out of my house for 6 months and if it weren't for city permitting and Wells Fargo, I'd have been back in it by now. I want to say I have never had a problem with the mortgage side of it. But their property loss department is not at all what I would have expected
Desired outcome: Release of funds so I can pay my contractors.
