Yesterday morning my son and I went to buy gifts for my wife, Karen's Birthday.
When we walked in the store (Kamloops South) the older lady at the till said I couldn't come in with my diaper bag.
I have been coming to this store for 20 years. They must remember me.
I could have put the bag in the car and came back into the store. But why should I.
There are ladies in the store with bigger bags then my diaper bag.
oil change
I've been to canadain tire twice for and oil change. The worst experience I've ever had with oil changes. First time I went in for an oil change and a tire for my car it took three hours, I was given a standard oil change for my trouble and time. My car take's synthetic so it was no good for my car this was in October 2016 in the Barrie south store, figured I would use it for my wife's car today went it the shop and was told the credit was only good at the Barrie north store, and after going to the second shop I had to wait an hour for the change plus my time for the drive it's a small wonder how a shop can make money that way. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me .
Never take your car to Canadian Tire. We had problems with brake lights. They charged $100.00 for a "diagnostic", then claimed a bulb was loose because I'd put one it in wrong (which I doubt) and that another was burnt out. There were no burnt out bulbs, and did the mechanic bother to tighten the loose bulb? Nope; apparently, that's beyond what they'll do in one of their "diagnostics" -- they can't bother with five seconds of extra efforts and wanted another $100.00 to simply change the bulbs. No other garage in the world would do this. We only took it there because it was a Sunday and they were the only place open. Our regular mechanic would have chuckled that I'd put the bulb in wrong (if in fact that's what happened -- I'm not sure they even looked at the car because, as I said, there were no burnt out bulbs) and he would have charged next to nothing. Demanding $100.00 for work like this is absurd.
I went to canadian tire this morning for a oil change had to wait for a hour, they put my car in the bay and put it back out side and said that the guy put it in the wrong bay which at that point would take another hour for the oil change because of this 25 point inspection it takes an hour for the oil change well I don't want a 25 point inspection just a quick oil change so instead of waiting another hour I asked for my keys back, two hours for a oil change something that only takes 15 or 20 minutes tops and you call that GOOD service know I know why they call it CRAPPY Tire and being a long time customer means nothing.

auto shop @ 11839 kingsway avenue edmonton
We had just finished a soccer tournament in Edmonton and needed to travel home to Grande Prairie, unfortunately when I went to my vehicle I noticed the tire was almost flat so I took it to the Canadian Tire on Kingsway and went to the auto shop to see if they could with my tire and get us back on the road. I was there at 4:00 and the guy told me that they couldn't help because the store was closing in 20 minutes and that I would have to wait until morning. I told him I needed to be back in Grande Prairie on Sunday (my kid has school and I have to work). He said Sorry there's nothing we can do. So I called AMA and the guy came out to help with my tire but was having trouble locating where the air was leaking from. At 4:50 I noticed the store was still open so I went back in and explained to them that the guy from AMA was having trouble and asked if they were sure there was nothing they could do and they said no there's nothing we can do, our store closes at 5:00 at the Mechanic needs to go home. Thankfully the AMA guy finally found the hole and got me back on the road, but I am really disappointed with the Kingsway store and that they couldn't take the time to help and lied to me at 4:00 telling me the store closed in 20 minutes.
mastercraft adjustable shelving unit
Hi Canadian Tire,
I'm not sure why, but we keep giving Canadian Tire and Canadian Tore products the benefit of the doubt. Over Christmas 2016, we returned 4 different faulty products. Yet still, we continue to be loyal customers and are really beginning to question why.
Our latest purchase, Mastercraft's Adjustable Storage Shelving Unit is our biggest disappointment and frustration to date. We bought two of these units to organize our unfinished basement. Each untit was approx $60+tax, had 5 adjustable shelves and a storage capacity of 1000lbs. Exactly what we were looking for.
We got it home and built them both. Everything went smoothly until we tried to actually put storage bins (etc) on the shelves. None of the shelves held up- all of the securing sleeves slipped down. What a disaster. We estimated our heaviest box was about ~20lbs. An easy lift for myself at 6 months pregnant. We rearranged our boxes many times, attempted to tape the sleeves in place and we're finally happy with our work. Frustrating and disappointed already but everything looked secure.
The next day when we went downstairs to find that multiple of the sleeves again slipped down and the only thing keeping our Shelving until up was the fact the shelves were resting on our boxes.
Fixed it again and left the lopsided shelves. Today, 2 weeks since setting them up, we examined them to find they are completely lopsided and we decided we have to take the boxes off the first 2 shelves in fear everything could tumble.
All this to say, I'm VERY disappointed once again in a Canadian Tire product. Taking the units completely apart and bringing them back to the store will be a HUGE nuisance due to the many small pieces. I'm writing in hopes you can rectify the situation from here. I've attached some of the pictures to show how terrible these shelving units are.
This is what I expect as a loyal customer. A) I do not want to return these units to my local store. I want to put them on the curb for garbage pick up. The amount of time and effort we've put into these shelves is ridiculous and carrying the many pieces back to the store is worthless. B) I should be offered a superior quality product to replace these shelves at equal value. I noticed on your website you have metal version of these shelves- do they work the way they are supposed to. Or, C) At the very least, I expect Canadians Tire to refund my $119.98+tax so I can take my business elsewhere.
Thank you.

car battery (eliminator) [protected] product number
Dear canadian tire, it is taking every bit of willpower to be polite, and not to use expletives in this letter because of my recent experience purchasing a product from one of your franchisees.
My 86 year old mother was having issues starting her 2011 honda c-rv, primarily in cold weather conditions. Keep in mind that this vehicle is in an unheated garage with the door closed.
So, after charging it on a charger once before, and boosting it several times after, I have come to the conclusion that the battery will no longer sustain a full charge and therefore it is no longer any good. The charging system operates optimally, and there are no draws on it from any electronics. One can only deduce that the eliminator battery in her vehicle is not sound.
That being said, I went to a local canadian tire and opted for another eliminator battery (Part # [protected]). I was greeted by a young man with hair hanging down across his face with one eye glaring at me. He didn't seem too concerned with the fact that he was dealing with a customer. However, I asked him if I could look at the batteries that were situated 'behind' the counter (Which is odd, considering I am looking to buy one) , but he told me that I wasn't allowed behind the counter, and that I was required to tell him the make and model of vehicle, so that he could look it up.
Not knowing the exact year, I stated that it was a honda c-rv and the year, I wasn't certain of, but possibly a 2011? He told me that he couldn't sell me a battery unless I knew the exact year of make and model! Seriously?! This is canadian tire's policy? Sorry, we can't sell you what you want unless you know exactly what you need? Please! I knew my mother's honda was approximately the year I hindered a guess at. I even had an idea of the product number having looked at the battery in my mother's car.
At any rate, I also happened to notice a disclaimer on the wall above the batteries that stated, and I quote; 'frozen batteries are not covered under any warranty no exceptions'! Well, news flash people, I reside in sudbury, ontario (Or northern ontario to you people in the southern part of the province) where the temperatures can get all the way down to a balmy - 35c at times, not incorporating the wind factor. I'm sorry that I don't reside in a climate like arizona or new mexico!
Furthermore, you have an advertisement for canadian tire's eliminator battery where it is chilled in a freezer unit to a temperature of - 40c, then it is installed in an truck constructed of ice, to which it starts up right away. Is this not a contradiction to what the policy sign states in the store? What 'constitutes' a 'frozen' battery? Look! I didn't just fall off the turnip truck? I have a pretty good understanding of batteries, especially when it was part of my work before I retired.
Nonetheless, I removed her old eliminator battery and installed the new eliminator battery. Unbeknownst to me, there was a piece of masking tape on the side that had september 2014 on it, so I figured that it should still be covered under the four year warranty. News alert! Apparently, it was previously frozen, hence the voided warranty. How do you argue with a young employee who doesn't give a ####, and just follows the rules? Needless to say, I at least asked for my twenty dollars that is outlined on the tag of the new battery. When you return the old one, you get twenty dollars back.
So, bringing it back, I only received $19.90 back because I didn't have the canadian tire money of .10 cents! This really is a shoddy outfit! I usually love going into ct to buy tools and other miscellaneous items, but this latest experience has left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth! If you want to do good by me, I would recommend you compensate my mother for the premature faulty battery that cost me half of my day to buy, replace and return, not to mention the troubles dealing with your impolite staff? Thanks!

automotive service area
We came in with a Cadillac for an E-Test and it took them over 2hrs and on top of it they left the car lights on, killed the battery and tried to have us pay for a new battery when we have been here and watched them leave the lights on the whole time. Then they proceeded on blaming us for the battery...This happened at the Aurora Canadian Tire! So angry with this company, I want the camera footage of this morning so I can show people how useless and foolish this whole process has been.
auto department manager at mcphillips location winnipeg
I have been patient for last couple of months for the unprofessional treatment of customers by the automotive manager at this location. I have made numerous calls to the customer service department and told them about what has been going on but i think they are trying to ignore me rather than solving the issue.
Issue began with providing me wrong set of winter tires which led to a serious suspension damage to my car and when I went in to complain regarding this issue I was told to pay additional $551 for the new set of tires on top of what I had paid before ($1240) but my car suspension damage was not taken into account by the manager saying that it was not there fault . My car damages were repaired by the dealership at a cost of $500.
And moving on with the issue when they put on the new tires for the second time, the vehicle alignment was not checked at all which again led to a rear tires alignment issue which was raised by my car dealership and I have a document proving my statement .when I went back to the Canadian tire store regarding this matter I was told by the automotive manager straight in the face that she or anybody in the auto department will not help me and she will not look into the matter.
I have a car which has just 45, 000 kms on it and I am already running back and forth to get it fixed which is costing me my precious work time, money and a lot of unwanted frustration . If you want to look at the google reviews of this location you will understand what has been going on with customers at this location and no one seems to care.
My only request to you is please look into the matter I have already spent $3000 dollars just on tires, fixing car, gas and taking off from work .
and I think I am being treated in an unfair and unprofessional manner
racism
Recently visited the canadian tire south lethbridge. I notice the store employees watched and followed me around the store. Watching everything I did. Snickering and laughing behind my back. It was becoming very uncomfortable so I left the store. I don't know if it's your protocol to treat certain customers like that but I don't like it I don't think i'll be shopping there anymore as a native person I don't like this kind of treatment to be laughed at and to be made fool of. I will tell my fellow native people to stop shopping at your store too.
the auto / journeyman mechanics
Hello,
Had to go to canadian tire today, feb. 19, 2017, as suddenly while driving the engine light flicked on and then there was no power when I hit the gas... So I took it to you shop in south edmonton alberta. They said they would start by checking the vehicle... 60 minutes they said and this was at about 11:35am... Finally at 1:15 I went and asked if they knew what was wrong or what was taking so long... Was told the mechanic would be at least another 30 minutes. Finally at 1:50 I went to check again the journeyman was finally done... Thank god... But then I had to wait for him to talk with the front desk staff and then have them type up the info. They could not find what was wrong but could see the signs that yes something had been going wrong previously. Was made to feel like my car was not a priority waited a ridiculous amount of time and after them just check it cost $186 dollars canadian that is crazy. They just looked and for lack of a better word dicked around. I was told it would be 60 min for the check I got everything in order at about 2:30pm. They said they could not find the problem but suggested doing general maintenance... Which we do regularly... Infact we had an oil change less than a week ago.
The service was horrible... The price was insane for the work that they did. They used a code reader and then did who knows what from 11:35 to 2:30.
It is unprofessional and horrible service. I would at least like some of my money back as it took well over the 60 minutes that was stated on the invoice and they did not do anything at all really we watched our car sit outside for quite some time before they took it inside... Now when we got there it was slow and no one was waiting or anything but as time went on they became more busy and thus wasted our time as well.
Please find a way to resolve this... I really would like some of my money back for the inconvenience. I declined all the maintenance they suggested because there reason for suggesting it was, "oh we could not find the problem... So try do general maintenance. "
If you require an invoice please message me and I can send what I have thank you.
auto repair service
On febuary my 2012 jeep compass to cdn. Tire as it was having trouble starting the battery was fine. I could not hear the fuel pump start as per usual. I brought it to them. Telling them of the symptons I informed them then sounded like either fuel pump relay or fuel pump. They checked it out said because the vehicule started they could not find anything. They verified the battery and it was good. I paid and left. On feb. 17th the jeep refused to start I had it towed by cdn. Tire road service to cdn. Tire cowansville. I again told them sounded like fuel pump relay or fuel pump. They examined the vehicule and said pump and relay were fine it looked like a cpm control and it was beyond there scope to send to dealer. I agreed ten minutes later they called back and told me that the mechanic had figured out how to run his testor. So we agreed to let him try after a while I called back to see what was going on and was told they thought it was the crank sensor. At that point I knew. They were lost and asked them to stop. I called the tow truck and the dealer. They found the problem imediatly. It was the fuel pump relay. Now I am out 172.00 paying cdn tire plus one towing. I would like some compensation I feel the mechanic was way over his head.
windshield washer fluid
You had a case of 4 bottles of windshield washer fluid on for $12.95. They store I st.Thomas was out of the cases but had plenty of single bottles on the shelf. When 5 asked if I could get the 4 bottles separate for the case price I was told it was only one sale if they came in the box. In my opinion 4 bottles is 4 bottles. So I had to pay the regular price and so I only lyrics bought one bottle and decided not to get the other products that I needed because of this. I have been a loyal Canadian Tire customer for over 25 years. However after this I am seriously reconsidering my customer loyalty to Canadian Tire. I know I will probably never hear back about this but I am so upset and feel totally ripped off that I had to mention this.
bondo
I needed a repair agent to fix some issues on my fibre glass boat. I was told by the sales assistant to buy this tube of bondo . I sanded down areas and Aplied the bondo. Several hours later I went to see if it's ok to sand and paint. The bondo the guy told me to buy was the wrong stuff I needed. It needs sunlight to cure. Not knowing this i got it all over my good jacket which is now washing.
Now I've to scrape it off my boat and buy another product. Not very good sales assistance if you ask me. Very disappointed that the staff are so unaware of the products the sell.
inefficient service at canadian tire auto service centre, #654, leslie & lake shore, 1015, lakeshore blvd east, toronto, on m4n 1b4
On 31 January 2017, I brought in my Hyundai Elantra Touring to fix a stop light bulb on the passenger side.
The service person who fixed the bulb incidentally chipped the plastic assembly, stuck the broken piece with glue and did not set the tail light assembly properly into the body.
I did not notice the fault until I noticed a lot of rattling in the boot. On close inspection, I noticed that the assembly was not seated into the body and there was a small piece that was chipped and cleverly fixed with glue.
I returned to ask the person to replace the assembly as it was his fault to have broken it.
He asked me to come the next day so he would ask his manager.
On returning again, the manager inspected the tail light and I was told by the service person that the assembly cannot be replaced and he was rude to me.
Is this the kind of customer service one expects from a big organization like Canadian tire?
I want them to replace the part.
auto service
Brought car in for service to Milwoods Canadian Tire, agreed on the day for a pickup. The next day they called and said that they had no parts available so the car won't be available (actually it can be linked to unfair practices under the Fair Trading Act as they made a misleading statement knowing that neither parts will be available nor work done). Needed to pick up the car the day initially agreed upon and they charged for the work that was not done. Thus they put blame on me for not agreeing to leave car longer than the day agreed on even I told them that I would need the car that day. I am wondering if it is normal practice as it should be considered unprofessional and unethical.
inspection services
Went a couple of months ago (About 4 / 5 months ago) to canadian tire auto service in pointe claire quebec, to have a front end inspection,... They gave me the report of what needed to be done,.. Bought the pieces & had them changed, (Ball joint, tie rod end,... Now i go my dealership garage to get diagnosis on computer,... I was in total shock, when they told me, & brought me in to show me that my whole front end sub frame is finished & has rusted out holes all through it... Why the fk did i pay for a front end inspection for, your people should of told me months ago about my sub frame, but instead you just wanted to make money changing parts... This car is now off the road as of yesterday,... You pcs of ###, you'd rather make money then to let your customers know the truth... & yes i have proof i was there for that, it's paid through my canadian tire master card, you fkn pcs of ###
customer service by your employees
I recently visited the Canadian Tire store in Cowansville, Qc to purchase a pair of skates for my grandson. I found the skates that I wanted and proceeded to the department where they sharpen the skates. I also had my pair of skates that had to be sharpened. I placed my skates in the line as there were other skates to be sharpened ahead of me. The employee that was supposed to be sharpening skates was busy serving a gentleman that couldn't seem to decide on what pair of skates he wanted - another Canadian Tire employee came along and they chit chatted for a couple of minutes and he left and the original employee that was there continued standing there waiting for the customer to decide which skate he wanted. I understand, and I'm very patient with line ups in stores but I felt like this situation was a bit ridiculous - couldn't this employee have someone else help this customer so he could sharpen skates? So I went to the customer service desk and explained to the clerk what was going on - she asked if I wanted to see the manager or she could call the employee to the skate sharpening department, so I asked that she please call him. She paged him and he didn't even bother to call her. So after another 15 minutes of the same nonsense going on - I asked to speak to the manager. He told me that I should be patient because it was winter and everyone was getting their skates sharpened! I'm very patient, but the employee wasn't even sharpening skates! The manager made me feel like I was in the wrong. They finally sharpened my skates and I paid for my purchases and left and I haven't been back to the Canadian Tire in Cowansville since then and I don't plan on ever returning again. Does that manager not realize that it's the customers purchasing goods at his store that's paying his salary? My few purchases every week may not be alot compared to the total sales of the store, but if everyone is treated like that and feels the same as I do - sales will definitely drop.
Regards,
Linda
