Terrible service from Cell C
I have recently started a new job and as part of my mobile allowance, I need to migrate my number to an enterprise work package by porting my existing number. I request the cancellation of my contract on the 1st of October 2022. Cell C responded saying I have a penalty of approx. R4000 to cancel the contract which expires in March 2023. This is not true as I haven't upgraded for some time and the contract is now month-to-month. Cell C said I signed a contract with their Hatfield branch which I have never visited. They advised they would get proof of the contract and provide feedback within 48 hours. It is now the 18th of October and I have emailed them approx. 6 times with no feedback.
The contact centre number is [protected] and is a call centre for clients with "exclusive" packages. However, it doesn't work and gets reverted to the "normal" call centre. The agents here cannot help as I am an exclusive client even though I never asked for this. They then transfer me pack to this "exclusive" call centre where nobody answers. This back-and-forth has been going on for two days now. Eventually, after begging to speak to the manager at the "normal" call centre, they promised someone would contact me today, 18 October, for feedback at 14:00. Needless to say, nobody called me. The worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I have to move my package by the end of this month. I wait with bated breath.
Desired outcome: Just give me feedback on this supposed contract. If it's not anywhere to be found, then clearly the issue is with Cell C. Just cancel the contract effective date 31 October...please!!!!!!!!!
Fraudulent tele sales and impossible to cancel
I received a call from Cell C claiming that they can reduce my monthly cost from R800 to R400 (don't have exact amounts) I expressed that if anything I would like to know how much data was attached, was told that included is 30GB data and they said they would send me a sim to use in a dongle which I said I didn't want, only to be told its linked to the number so the kids or anyone can use it etc etc.
Now it appears all he did was add R249 (30GB) package to my existing contracts, no discount on the bill and I cannot get Cell C to provide the recordings to prove to them, the worst now after 20 calls or so I manage to pass their security check, now I get a call 5 days later and now they want to verify before helping me and I fail a security test. They ask what was the last debit order amount! I supposed be sitting on banking or all other documents in case they ask a question... it is virtually impossibly to cancel something that they illegally added to your account. CELL C ARE FRAUSTERS. PLEASE BE WARNED DO NOT ENGAGE WITH ANYONE ONE TELEPHONICALLY FROM CELL C.
Paid up letter request
Good day - I am struggling to get Paid up letter from Cell c - since 2021 - I have been calling this 084 135 - but that number is so useless if you put your number - the response you get is that your number does not exist - when you try other options you get cut off. if you are lucky to get a Consultant they always pass the bark by transferring you to somewhere - and also that consultant will pass you to someone else - been struggling with this for a while for simple Paid up letter .

False advertising on specials
On the 3rd of October I signed a contract for a new Samsung ZFlip4 phone - the special included a free pair of Earbuds - after signing the contract the agent told me that the earbuds are out of stock and they don't know when they will get more stock as the warehouse is saying it is on back-order. Till today, they have not received stock and they don't know when they will get stock.
The challenge I have is that the special offer did not indicate the inclusion of earbuds "while stocks last" - I demand to have a pair of earbuds included in my deal that I signed on the 3rd of October and I'm not prepared to wait such an extensive time until Cell C warehouse manage to purchase more from Samsung.
Desired outcome: Receive my ZFlip4 phone with the earbuds as part of the special that already ended on the 10th of October - I also want my deal to be on the special price

Had a contract with CellC, Contract was paid in full by Nov/Dec 2021. Since Then, after Numerous attempts and Reference numbers and phoning and sending proof of payments, CellC is still deducting from my account and its October 2022. So, I have a huge credit. Still struggling to get my credit!
I also had numerous of calls that Cellc has dropped the phone in my ear + If I want to know what the advisors name is, or who I am speaking with, they have no response at all and ignore my question. I went to Cellc Nelspruit, Ilanga Mall and even then, they put the phone down in Musa's ear who is the advisor for Nelspruit.
This is very bad service! they are always helpful to get the contact, but as soon as any other situation surfaces, then you struggle for months to sort it out!
This is Terrible service to say the least.

Hi my name is Lebogang Seleke and I was cellc contract customer, things didn't go well for me then I couldn't pay the amount that I owed, then they send their debt collectors to get that money from me, then I paid all the amount, last payment was in November 2021 and then the debt collectors promised me they gonna send me my paid up letter within 24hrs till this day I haven't received it and it appears on my credit profile and it says I'm 6 months in arrears, please look into this matter and help me

I tried to cancel a contact I never agreed on. .
A Guy from Cell C phoned me and said to me I am up for an upgrade and if there is nothing wrong with my phone I can get discount on my current contract by just going on with it. He also said he will then give me 30 gig on my contract, so I assume as part of the discount he gives the 30gig on my existing contract.
I would never agreed on an extra contract as I do have unlimited wi-fi at home
I tried to cancel that contract as I only saw that with my new statement I received last week.
I repeatedly asked him, so my total amount will be The R400 and something plus my daughters contract of R300 something. He repeatedly said yes, the R400 is my total amount. Go and listen to the voice recordings. He phoned me several times as the line was bad.
Also, I never received any sim card or anything…… I want proof where that sim card was delivered and who signed for it, because I did not.
Please cancel this contract and take it of my name.

Fraud
I live overseas and still have a SA bank account . I noticed that all of a sudden a I was getting debit orders from Cell C dating back to June 25th. I contacted Cell C and they told me I have to get a affidavit and give statements showing the debit orders . I came back to the country and went to Cell C on the 5th September and provided those documents and was told that Fraud division would contact me. At the same time I went to FNB to request a stop order and was told that it could take up to 40 days to have it activated and that it was only valid for a year , basically I need to the service provider to cancel the debit order from their side. After not hearing anything from Cell C I sent an email on the 12th September to [protected]@cell.co.za as I hadn't even received a case number as well and again sent through all the documents that was required. I got so frustrated with the lack of communication I contacted Cell C on Fb and was just told its still under investigation. I managed to get one debit order reversed with FNB but the other's are still pending. I do not understand why this account is still open when I have affidavit stating that it wasn't me who opened the account and they I have raised this Cell C why are they are still deducting from my account
Desired outcome: Stop deducting money from account and please refund me for all past debits

In May 2022 an Cell C agent phone me to offer me a new phone on upgrading my contract. He alos said with the upgrade i will receive a watch.He offered me a 30G data contract.He then went and create a second account for the data contract which i did not approve to.I also said this cannot be debitted from my bank account because my bank account is dormant.I received the phone but never the watch. Also never received any statement on the data contract which i did not know he created a second account. In the 6 years dealing with Cell C this was the first.I then send emails again to cancel my debit order because i pay via my app. Still nothing was said about a secon account.When i queries about the watch not received i was tols he will escalate about why the watch was not send. This week i received phone calls regarding me being in arrears on a second account. First time i heard about this so called second account.The lady who phoned me started shouting at me.Today i went to the branch whereby the Cell C agent to asked for this 2nd account debit order to be cancelled. The person said no i need to supply them with a retrenchment letter. What a lot of bull.I am not retrenched my bank account does not exist .Please place people in the positions who can do their job.

Paid up letter and My cell c account is frozen

Cell c is giving me a run around for my account.
I had an overdue amount of R8500 which I paid last week (attached proof of payment). I have received an email confirming my payment was received. I then contacted Cell c and the consultant said that my line will be reconnected. Today I received a cell c statement also attached password is my ID number

On this statement says I have to pay in R2253 which to my knowledge if I paid the outstanding balance and as discussed with consultant from Cell c my line will go back to normal and I will pay my monthly contract fees. I call cell c today who then tells me my account has been handed over to a company called Blake and associates. I called blake and they have advised me that they do not have any records on my name. I called cell c again stating my problem and the consultant then gave me a number for a company called Hammond pole who I then called and this company stated to me also they do not have any records for me.
I am now running around trying to resolve this problem and get my name of the bureau and cell c can't access my account due to my records being suspended. I asked to speak to someone higher and they cannot assist me with that also.
I do not know what to do and I am running out of patience with this company
Please can you help me rectify my problem. All relevant proof is attached.
Everytime I phone this pathetic company they say I fail the security test and next time I past the test yet I'm using the same answers to questions. This is the worst network to deal with. In actual fact I shouldn't have even damn paid cell c for the way they treat customers like they giving services for free. I am paying for the service. This story will be widely spread a cross social media and to national credit act aswel. I have already filed a formal complaint with the ombudsman.

A contract was fraudulently opened on my name, i contacted cell c, they closed the account but have not refunded me my money for the unauthorized debit order. I submitted and avadavat , bank statement and copy of my ID, each time I called I get a new reference number and nothing gets done, this has been about 6 months now, these guys at cell c are pathetic in this department and have no care or concern over this, I am also asking for my ITC credit record to not be affected as this was a fraudulent contract, to date nobody has called me, I have numerous reference numbers and names of all the people that I spoke to.

Month to month contract converted in an underhanded manner to a 24 month contract.
Wanted to cancel my month to month Cell C contract only to be told it will cost me R4900 as it expires August 2023.
They converted all the month to month contracts to 24 month contracts hiding behind TCs giving them the right to change the terms of the contract of which I never signed neither given a copy of the TCs in spite of requesting a copy.
My contract clearly states it shall run month to month until such time as it’s cancelled. Cell C has no integrity they are totally devious and dishonest.
I never wanted a 24 month contract and opted for a month to month contract from the outset. They can’t produce a signed copy of the TCs with my signature accepting that they may make changes to contracts without giving the option to decide.
I wonder how many other people are aware of Cell Cs underhanded conduct and have had their contracts converted to 24 months being un aware. It’s obvious that a 24 month contract is far more valuable to their business then a month to month contract.
So far no manager has made contact with me or tried to resolve my complaint they simply don’t respond neither will they take my calls.
Desired outcome: Apology and cancellation of my contract and for it to be restored to a month to month contract which is binding.

Not wanting to cancell contract after giving notice
Me and My mother gave notice to cancel cell C contract at the end of may month.Kept putting debit order threw. We then also sent it back with answer contract cancelled. It did not go back as not having funds in account. Phoned and also emailed to get someone to help. When you email they just open an ticket and close it again. No one phones back. I need unbudsman details and also going to get lawer involved. I work for the bank and always thought my client is just telling me a story that they cancelled and how they struggle to get it sorted out when there accounts goes into arrears. Me and my mother of 79 years of age has never not pay an account . This is now going to affect credit rating and ect. I am not at fault. I got threw to an lady and she responded after i sent her the proof that on me and mothers accounts there was funds in accounts and the reason for sending back. She said admin is working on it and her supervisor will phone. It is about another 2 weeks that no one is returning call to sort out. Please can someone advise how we can resolve. I am not going to leave the complaint like this. I will take it further if not resolved by end of business day tomorrow by Cell C. Someone at Company did not do there work and now we are negatively affected.

I order a prepaid data card on the 5th September 2022. I paid via the website redirection to paypal. When I did not receive it, I mailed customer services and got a blank automated reply. I started contacting customer services via telephone. When I phone and select a department it asked me for a relevant telephone number - that I am actually waiting for. So I started getting frustrated. I was so frustrated that I contacted upgrade packages. What do you know, I got to speak to a real person...that could not help me but transfer me to the correct department. They put the phone down before I could talk to them. Phone again. Same happened. Emailed again with proof of payment from paypal attached. Nothing. Mailed again and ask for a refund. They say it is fraudulent transaction they need bank statements. So now I must mail there customer service my bank statement. I dont even know how many people have access to that mail. So I took a screen shot of it, crop it and send it to them. If they can give me a private email, I will send my bank statement for that day. I did however send them the proof of the paypal again. So basically they are telling me paypal is stealing there money. My ID: [protected]. Case Number: [protected].

Technical incompetency
i bought a phone at Edgars throught the cellc network proveder late last year, only had the phone for less than a year, however the phone started malfunctioning and i took it in for repairs at Edgars, on the 25/04/2022, till today i have not received my phone back nor heard any communication from them. instead i went in the shop and was sent to go to cellc i went there and i was told to go to the one in Sandton, i really want my phone back, i am unemployed and need to apply for jobs using that phone. i am missing opprotunities of getting employed, recruiters may be trying to contact me but cant reach me because i don't have a phone. please resolve this issue ASAP
