Paid up letter delayed by Cell C
I had a contract with cell c. They claimed that I owed them R1042. They then handed my account over to MBD credit solutions. I have complied with MBD's requests and made a payment as they facilitated this process. I did an online payment. Here is my POP :
"Capitec: Payment -R1478.00 from SAVINGS ACCOUNT; Ref TC Recoveries Cape Town ZA; Avail R39.37; 25-Oct. Info [protected]."
My reference number with MBD is 9I0553793.
My reference number with cell c is [protected].
We are approaching a month now and I'm going back and forth with MBD consultants telling me that it has been escalated with cell c. They have not received any feedback from cell c. When I contact cell c, they tell me to send proof of payment which I did. They then said the turnaround time for this is 2 days. However, they don't respond after then.
I'm not getting any clear resolution between the two parties. I would expect that their workflow would be insync and in order however cell c seems to have incompetent staff hence the delay.
I request that my case be given to someone with experience, who can resolve my issues fast. I am really exhausted as this is a back and forth process.
I have played my part in paying up even though they ripped me off. I paid them more than they deserve.
They need to play their part in locating my payment and changing my status with all credit bureaus to PAID UP status. As well as send me the paid up letter.
Desired outcome: Credit burea status to change from arrears to Paid up and also to receive my paid up letter

All I want to do is clear my name. I am stronly considdering leagl procedings against Cell C for wrongfully blacklisting me.

Being Handed over to Attorneys for a Cell C Contract that had been closed 7 months ago
I had 3 cell phone contracts of which 1 expired about 7 months ago. I phoned Cell C and cancelled the expired contract and confirmed that it was a prepaid phone. Since then I have received calls from Shapiro Shaik Attorney that I have been handed over for non payment. I have settled this amount on the 30th of Aug and POP was sent to [protected]@ssda.co.za, then I received another call to say in arrears again. I phoned cell C and explained and was informed that there is yet another amount outstanding (can not be as this was cancelled). On the 5th of November again, I made the payment directly to cell C and sent the POP to them. Today I received yet another call from Shapiro Shaik. I phoned cell C and asked to be put through to the legal department. I spoke to 8 people at cell C, Zokwa Ref no: [protected], Kululewe, Abdul, Kamagelo, Tomeol, Notumupula, linda and then to the manager Tsepo explaining the situation to all, with no resolution. This contract must be cancelled.
Desired outcome: Repay all the money that I had to pay for Cell C's errors and remove the no from my Name. Clear my name at the Attorneys
sim swop they done on wrong number
Good day on 17.11.2021 I done a sim swop on one of my 4 contract numbers with the customer care department the sim swop I asked for was for [protected] and the person helping me done the sim swop on the number I called from that was [protected]. I send the sim card to my son in Melkbosstrand thinking this is now a sim card for [protected] but needless to say it was not the number as I requested to do the sim swop on. Paid R99 to send the sim card via post net.
I phone cell C customer service to find out how they going to correct their mistake. Best answer I got, we apologize and we are sorry, that's not what I asked for. Resolving their mistake, I now have to go and buy another 2 sim cards and then do 2 sim swops that they wont charge me for and pay another R99 to send the sim card to my son.
Now I have to pay for 3 sim cards and pay again to send the card to my son
Still I need to Understand why I must pay for their mistakes. I would like to know how Cell C is going to resolve my problem
Desired outcome: Need to know if they can send a sim card to my son in Melkbosstrand and to me in Johannesburg free of charge.
Paid up letter
I'm struggling to get my statement can you plz do favour to send it via email [protected]@gmail.com
Fraudulent Contract
Good day
My account was debited by Cell C. I thereafter contacted customer care and they stated that I took out a 24 month contract. I have not opened a contract with Cell C and requested a copy of my contract. An unsigned contract was sent to me.
I have sent through an Affidavit and my ID however Cell C continues to debit me. Why when a company opens a contract in your name, YOU should have to prove you did not. It should be the Company that must prove there is a valid contract.
Please sort this out immediately as this is both fraud and an offence in terms of the POPI Act.
Kind regards,
Rishell
Desired outcome: This fraudulent account to be closed immediately.

My contract was cancelled years ago with cell c and now they have started debited my account again and my bank has charged me debit order fees as this was not provided for. This problem needs to be sorted out within the next 7 working day. For more details contact me on [protected].
Desired outcome: pay back my debit order fees and my debit orders

Cell c contract canceled but handed my name to debt collectors
After a long time trying to cancel my contract with Cell C, I finally managed to get my contract canceled in early September. After couples of weeks my account was handed over to debt collectors. I have followed up with Cell C so many times but I am not getting anywhere and my name is being ruined for Cell C incompetence.
Desired outcome: I want my name removed for owing Cell C as I don't owe them
sim swap procedure
Cell c is chasing its customers away with these security questions. What security questions
telkom only needs your id to do a sim swap in their kiosks and telkom shops. No funny questions are asked because they compare to what they see in their computer system and look at your face and your id. Simple as that.
For cell c even if you bring your id to their cell c shop they will still ask you these ridiculous security questions.
People are leaving cell c because of this.

Upgrading
I have 2 contracts with Cell C and only upgraded one of my numbers in May 2021 and received only the one handset as per my upgrade request. Both numbers' anniversary month is August, hence the reason I could upgrade in May. In my recorded conversation with the Cell C operator (in May), I specifically said that I was going to cancel the second number and was told that I must do it in August. When it came to August, I was told that I upgraded and received two handsets, of which I totally deny, as I only received the one upgrade. I spoke to about 20 to 30 call centre staff since August to resolve this matter and also sent an affidavit as instructed by Cell C to deny requesting and receiving the second upgrade. I refuse to pay for a second handset and reversed my debit order for two months (Sepr & Oct). No one at Cell C has ever contacted me to try and resolve my issue but I rather received calls for other products they want to offer me.
Desired outcome: Cancel one numner [protected]

Payment not allocated for a paid letter to be issued
On the 10th of September, I went to Cell C store to inquire about my account. I was informed that I owe Cell C an amount of R163.00, which I paid immediately via my app. My bank statement also shows an amount of R316.00 which has been debited on the 7th September 2021.. The last ticket number allocated is [protected] and there are so many of them.
Desired outcome: Paid up letter to be issued and my name to be cleared with credit bureau
Unauthorized billing
I cancelled my Cell C contact early this year (2021). In Jul 2021 I noticed that there was a Cell C missed payment from my credit report. I followed up with Cell C and they mentioned that there's an outstanding amount that I have to pay. I immediately paid up that amount and on 29 Jul 2021, I received a confirmation of settle account letter (Ref: 1070902432).
However in September a company called Shapiro Shaik Defries and Associates contacted me and told me that they are calling on behalf of Cell C to collect their money. I inquired with Cell C again [protected]) and I never received a response. I even gave a review on Hello peter, to which Cell C replied and said that they will be in-touch to help resolve the query.
Right now (10 Nov 2021) I've just received an update on my credit score and it went down by 63 points, due to Cell C missed payments.
This has affected my credit life badly.
I would not advice anyone to take-up a contract with Cell C.
Fraud / customer care
There was an fraudulent contract opened on my name in 2011, I am backlisted and prevented at all banks for credit, I also lost a few job offers as my credit score is influenced.
after how many SAPS documents and emails no service or attendance has been made to resolve this matter, Credit companies had clear their records but a letter of CellC is still needed.
I cannot complaint about a service of which there is none.
Desired outcome: my name cleared, the responsible person taken to task.

Rica
Hi, I am really unhappy with Cell C. My sim failed that I had for more or less for 2-3months. Now I have to do RICA again! Why? Shouldn't you have my details and my ID details. Yet, when I phone customer care to do a new sim swop with the sim that the Cell C shop gave me. They declined, just because I don't know how many emergency recharges I did in 30days and data bundles I bought in the last 30days. Who keeps tabs of that? Then when I say they should give me a few minutes to go through all my messages to check. They told me, I only have 1 min to answer such [censored] questions.
Shouldn't you have my ID information and other personal information that I could've answered to get my SIM activated again. Now you want me to waste my fuel and time again to go RICA my sim at a shop. Yet, Cell C doesn't pay me for the time I have to waste to do a new sim swop, from your faulty sim that you provided to me.
You should care more about your clients and help them out in certain situations, especially if it a manufacturing fault.
Aren't the company suppose to make things easier for their clients, when they have already did RICA on a Cell C sim.
I am very disappointed in how Cell C handled my sim swop.
It would've made sense if I never had a sim with Cell C or if I wanted to get an extra sim for myself, but that isn't the case.
I hope you can rectify this situation ASAP.
If I have to go to a shop to RICA again, then I will definitely consider changing my network.
Desired outcome: Rectify your problem and do my sim swop

Unauthorised debit order contract ended and cancelled
I have cancelled a contract on the 06th of October and was advised to serve a notice of 30days which is ending tomorrow however still receiving statement for upcoming bill in November, I therefore regard this as an illegal and unethical behaviour. And as a consumer I feel Cellc is is violating my rights of being informed, heard, making choice and for my safety.
I need to know where is fairness and transparency, clear instructions were given to terminate the contract but you still want to fiddle with my account and impacting my financial status.

Demand for payment when I am on direct debit.
On the 4th November 2021, I received by e-mail the following, from Cell C collections department:
According to our records your account is in arrears by R 393.18. Please make a payment towards the account to prevent further action or kindly contact us on 084135 to discuss the options.
It so happens that I pay Cell C by DIRECT DEBIT, and they helped themselves to the said payment amount on the 30th of October 2021, as per my bank statement.
Is this an attempt to get a double payment?
Or is the service so bad and the confusion so big that they don't know what they are doing?
Unauthorized deduction
I complaint to Cell C's Fraud department about unauthorized deductions. On 15 July they requested that i sent in bank statements as proof of the deductions, which i did. No one from Cell C responded up to date. The deductions continue. Please assist.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement
