rudest manager ever
I was in a store in Ovid, NY I guess the stores number 6429, I asked for it by a nice employee after I heard a Manager name LISA called one of her co-workers a [censored] in front of me and other customers. The employee did nothing wrong as far as i could tell, but this Manager was so rude. I tried to ask her for help and it was like I asked a sloth she was slow and did nothing after but force another employee to help me. This made my trip horrible i was just trying to enjoy my trip visiting my family and I go to a store and hear foul words. The poor employees looked like she would slap them any moment! PLEASE FIRE HER!
service in general
At store 2181 in Richmond Ky 40475 this evening, my Wife and I was shopping and when we was ready to check out we stood in line for 30 minutes only one register open and only ONE Employee running whole store she says it was her first day on top of that as we finally get to the checkout she rings our stuff up then she doesn't know how to take of the weekly shopping 5 dollar off coupon she tried to call two manager's to take off the coupon with no answer. Needless to say there was about 30 people in line for as long as we was some set stuff down and walked out this is very poor management no matter how you look at it .I did not make my purchase either for she didn't know her job and nobody was even in the store to call over intercom she called by phone with no success. I hope others have took time to tell you this, it should be delt with to costumers for satisfaction as well as discipline for on duty management for not performing job on 5/12/18 around 8 30 pm
employees
We stop by dollar General after leaving the beach and I bought a shirt for my baby to change her, I asked if I could use the restroom to change her shirt the lady said yes but the door was locked the other lady threw a key on the counter so we tried to unlock the door but it would not unlock I over herd the cashier saying that she's not cleaning a bathroom so it's staying locked so we just left I changed my child in the car but I'll never stop there again . As a public place of business they need to provide a restroom
why does everyone think that a business has to provide a restroom? this is not true. it’s different for stores than restaurants..
one of the employee and store manager behavior!!
I seen an employee buying drugs off someone in the parking lot after he has clocked out. I told him I knew what he was doing that it was wrong then he showed me the drugs and I said that you shouldn't be doing that in the parking lot. The store manager goes to the bank and stay gone for 2 hours then she comes back and her lover boy/boy friend even though she's married. Has been hanging out with her on her job for couple hours or more. She's hanging out with him in the break room and not getting her jobs completely done.
shelves not stocked
Don't know if posting here is a waste of time or not. At #17788 In Rosharon, Texas their shelves are never fully stocked and it's not just once in a while. I have been there 6 times this month all I see is a bunch of empty shelves. This store is only a year old. My question is how does this store think it's going to make money when it's half empty all the time? I just left from there and at least they started stocking shelves. But most of the boxes on the cart were things they had plenty of. I think the manager might need retraining.
store closes early several times weekly
Your store at 3985 LA-10, Jackson LA, 70748 states that it is open 8am-10pm daily. This is not true. This has been my 3rd encounter with this location closing early in the past couple months. On this week 5-9-18. The store was closed at 8:50 pm. When I pulled on the door the store employees just looked at me. A couple weeks back they were closed at 9:00pm and on another occasion it was 9:15pm. They need to post their correct business hours instead of having customers wasting their time and gas guessing if they are open.
The whole staff is ghetto as well. They have a boom box on the counter that lights up and they yell all across the store and eat and take calls on their cellphones at the register. The store was really nice when it opened but has since gone to Hades.
employees hiding buying items from shipments
I would like to express my frustration on a few General Dollar store I have encountered. My complaint is that managers and assistants managers has been hiding/buying the new Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary black and gold exclusive to dollar stores straight from shipments before it could reach to customers. Today, May 12, I went to the St Paul at Suburban Ave. General Dollar and asked one of the employees, Coleen, if they have received any of them lately. She told me when they see the box from shipment, the manager and assistant manager would open it and buy the ones they want and leave the rest for their "regular customers." Then I asked if they have any more, she took me to the register and underneath it was the box the items came in. As a Hot wheels collector, it angers me to have to buy them online from a 3rd party for 100-200 times the price and giving us collectors a ZERO chance of getting them at retail price. I have worked in retail in small and big corporation and it is against company policy to have employees to buy or hide items while on the clock. I hope who ever read this complaint would understand my and many other hot wheels collectors frustration and take this matter seriously. If not, I'll filed a complaint to the BBB. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from a representative.

Was pulling at his pants leg. I thought he was a customer because he didn't have a name badage on or dollar General shirt on. I. Told him check us. He said the camera showed my husband pulling at his pants leg. My husband is a diabetic he has to wear I incillin pump that has tubing it's hooked to his
stomach and the tubing hangs down his pants leg.I asked to see the camera.I work at a store those two employees shouldn't accuse paying customers of stealing without proof.I didn't like the way we where treated. manager
The store manager is rude, careless and very disrespectful to her employees. She only cares about herself and no one else. She also expects way to much of her employees. I saw an employee so stressed today that they almost broke down into tears from stressing. The manager needs people skills to work in the line of work that she does. The reason I'm filling a complaint is because I wish there could be something done to her actions. I'd like to see her be replaced. The store needs someone who points out the good in someone's work instead of treating them like a slave and dog. Please replace her because that store just lost all of my business. I will never go back in it again to see the amount of stress and tension between her and her employees. They don't deserve to be treated like that. In my honest opinion, I couldn't work for her. We would have problems. Someone will not sit there and dog me as much as she does to her employees. She's a very rude and hateful person who only cares about herself.
Please do something with her. People are getting more and more dissatisfied with her starting to shop elsewhere. I will do my business elsewhere until she is replaced.
false ads/ rude employee and mgr.
I bought a pkg of paper plates that had a yellow sticker sign under it that said .75 off. I was Denied sale price because cash register didn't ring it up . mgr.and employ was very rude, the same as called me a liar. This is not the first time the store has done this. Cashier said he wasn't worried about the long line of waiting,
customers, nobody has complained. The Mgr came in, she too, was very rude. She said, " well, I'll just go check it out. I told her I wish she would! She never came back. Also, they had a box of candy bars on the register cabinet, 2 for $1.00. I got charged $1.25 each. The Store number is #01121. This happened today. 05/11/18. This store needs a surprise visit from the Regional mgr. As the aisles are always cluttered, boxes unpacked. There's never anyone around to ask for help. I doubt I will return to this store. They have one in
Palestine much nicer, cleaner, has a restroom for the public to use. I have always been treated wit respect in this store.
cashier service
I was in our local Dollar General (Bloomfield, IN) about 20 minutes ago. I was in an open lane, an older man tried to wait on me, register did not work, so we were sent to another register. Both employees looked new to me, and no sign of Managerial help anywhere. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes (and I was almost up to the register)the older guy called me back to his register, where AGAIN he could not get it to work. That took another ten minutes. I had to go back to the other line, which by now us even longer! Then when I finally get up there, she didn't know how to run the register correctly, evidentally. And it's a Friday night. Lots of honked customers in there! I spent 46 minutes of my valuable after-work time being ping pongef from line to line. The need to get their crap together! And where was the "manager" on a busy Friday night? P poor!
employee
The employee was stocking bleach when some fell over and spilled all over me it got on my face and all over my clothes when I confronted the employee instead of an apology and helping me get it off she looked at me and with a hateful attitude said what do you want once I told her what she had done all she could say was it was an accident what do you want me to do about it I wouldn't have minded if she had apologized but instead got snotty
credit card number compromised
The manager on duty at the Dollar General store located on Highway 418 in Simpsonville, SC wrote down my credit card information and then it was used twice to purchase items online. The manager's first name is Dalton. Using my credit card, I purchased several items on April 4, 2018 and realized when I got home that 2 of them were broken. I had also purchased a lipstick and didn't like the color so I was returning it at the same time. Dalton was on site and told me to get the replacement items for the 2 broken ones. He said he needed my credit card, I assumed to give me a refund for the lipstick. I quickly got the replacement items and when I got back to the register Dalton was writing down information with my credit card in front of him. He gave my credit card back to me and then gave me $5.00 and some change back, in cash. Since he had my credit card why did he give me cash back? There was no refund on my card. In 2018 I had only used that card twice, and that was back in February, in Huntsville, AL.
A few days ago I was contacted by the credit card company's fraud department. I was informed that someone attempted to use my card to spend $249 at an online superstore. The transaction didn't go through because the person didn't have my address. A few minutes later they charged 2 items online for Muscle Car magazine. Dalton is the only person who had possession of my card, and he was writing down information with it in front of him. He was very flustered and nervous when I came back. He flipped the piece of paper over on the counter and began writing figures down on the other side.
Of note, the 2 broken items were not on my receipt. Obviously they weren't rung up. I told him I wanted to pay for them but he wouldn't let me.
I would like for someone to respond to this complaint as soon as possible.
store hours/policy
My husband and I pulled into the parking lot at 9:55 on wednesday 05/10/18 at the dollat store
There were 2 cars in parking lot already and the inside lights were on in the store
We walk up to the front doors and they were already locked..
I told my husband to motion for the manager inside to just ask if we could grab a couple of quick items because my son whom is disabled needed last minute nessesities... And the next store is 29 miles away
On our cell phones it showed 9:55 while we were standing at the locked door..
The manager looked around the stacks of inventory that needed to be put on shelves for weeks now and with the ruddest face says 'we are closed' and turned around and walked off!
Now mind you there are two signs taped to the double doors that clearly state the open hours as
8-10 monday thru friday
Now i've worked in customer service and sales for 20 years and if I would of acted the way she acted I would of been fired by 10:01... If you post 10 as closing time then 10 should be closing time not a minute before.. False advertisement
Until this particular person showed up i've had nothing but pleasant experiences in this store
Everyone that was before her have been wonderful and i've seen both men and women employees there. This is something that needs to be addressed immediately because this is what will run customers that spend alot of money there off.
the two cars there belonged to the workers.. they don’t go by the time on your phone. they go by the time on the register. maybe you should’ve been stocked up already. or not wait until the last minute.
service
In April of this year I was threatened by another customer that she was going to choke the life out of me over the belief that I had spent Benefit money for my disabled son inappropriately. Apparently one of your cashiers saw that I was spending money and has assumed that every purchase is made with that money and is telling the entire town that I misspend money. Normal family purchases like icecream and chips.
Your cashier did not call the cops another customer stepped in between to keep this crazy lady from attacking me. I had believed in small town spending before this occurance but have spent all of our money for items needed at stores in Fargo rather then spending them in Barnesville, MN.
I had asked my husband to speak to the cashier to find out who the lady was to press charges but she claims she doesn't know who the lady is.
I am now frightened to go into this store and avoid it despite being thirty miles from the closest store.
employee
Lisa Willis who works at an Enterprise AL dollar general has not only been sending me but several other females threatening messages which I have screen shotted. I do not know this girl but she apparently has some issues. Comments like hunting me down and she's gonna kick my teeth in. I have never met this girl. I was bringing this to your attention bc if she is acting like this boldly on Facebook with other females as well I would hate to see how she treats your costumers. Luckily for me I live in another town and never visit the city this Looney lives in.
Employee
Can someone please let this Angel girl know that I no longer work for her at dollar general. I am a customer now and for her to try to start something with me while I'm walking out the door after purchasing a pack of cigarettes' is really childish. This is the reason why I no longer work there. I went in the store after work to get something and over hear her and the manager talking crap about me because I don't sit and talk about nonsense and other people like they do. I'm sorry but Dollar general did not pay enough to put up with that crap and I am no longer employed there so I would "hope" you guys would do something about this problem now. As I'm going out the door she says "loudly"...ugh she never says anything and wonder's why we don't like her haaaaahaaahaaa in a messed up way...This is the same topic they where talking ill of me before about...among other nasty things so I hope you can see how your ridiculous employee is trying to instigate me because I'm no longer employed there and I don't have to say anything to anybody except what I need at the store. besides why would I want to speak to anyone that made working there miserable. ...and the next time she says something to this extent I am going to ask her why she doesn't say what ever it is she needs to say to my face! Why is she running to hurry up in there from her break so she can be the one checking me out. Seriously? ...You might want to also ask yourselves why someone that is a manager doesn't know how to add percent's? This is the whole reason she started acting ill towards me but I mean you should be able to do that as a manager. I was just trying to help her and show her how.
Anyway, In the meantime I will tell people not to go there. I will just pay 50 cents more for my cigarettes at family dollar. Where the people don't act like teenagers.
I really don't understand why people hire these type of people to work with customers and manage employees.
and if you are wondering why I went in there with her there...well she doesn't really work at this store by 15A. I don't go to her store over by Publix plaza because I don't have time for nonsense people and I will address her if she does t again ever. Just so you know because I should be able to go in the store and buy what I need without that nonsense. I mean seriously, my dramatic teenage daughter acts more mature than the people you guys hire.
treats staff poorly
Former employee, I was hired as an assistant manager back in 2016 to a new store in East Bend, NC. As soon as I was hired the manager was promoted and began having to go to another store to try and get it back in order. I worked when schedule, never called in, worked at other stores when asked, worked doubles, and sometimes ended up by myself when others where no shows.
One day I was asked to go the store my manager had been working at to close because they had no one to do it. At the end of the shift, I was counting out the money, I was side tracked when another employee needed help because a customer was paying for her $22 dollar purchase with all change. When I was finished I went back to counting out my money in the office. The till came up $100 short. I since a text to the manager and informed them of everything so they could look over everything the next morning.
No one knows where that money went, they reviewed security cameras to make sure me nor the other employee had messed with the money while I had been assisting that customer. I continued to work my schedule at my store until a little over a week later they fired me, though my manager had said she didn't want to and she never got the chance to go over more things with me, but since it happened on my time and it was a large amount of money I of course had to be fired.
Fast forward, I was not happy with how they did that since I informed them of everything and did everything ever asked of me but I was also going back to school and finally have a career in front of me to start. It is for a sheriffs department, and I have to get my certification so everything is sent through Raleigh. Since I am so truthful, I of course wrote down my reason for no longer working at Dollar General but since I was fired the Sheriffs department has to have a letter on Dollar Generals letterhead explaining that nothing was due to basically stealing. I have a clean record as I have to also provide my background check too.
I called my former manager who said she has no letterhead, and told me I would have to go through corporate HR. So I have called them 5 times, being told they cannot provide what I need, being hung up on, telling me I can get it online which I cannot (I checked), and then the last time they told me they would have to have a subpoena.
This is the worst company ever. I have never had an issue with any former employee providing me with anything that I may need, and I have student loans now trying to finish my bachelors, and cannot begin my job until I have my paperwork done and Dollar General wants to keep giving me the run around. So instead of being decent and typing me up what I need on letterhead they would rather interfere with my career. Truly Pathetic.
staff disrespectful
The manager at the flatrock Mi store is really nice and hard working. Her name is Brittany. She is in that store more the she seems to be home. She has a few staff members and is working as hard as she can to kee the store in good order. But her staff is always calling off not showi g up and the DM is treating her like trash. The old store manager is just as bad they have no respect for a girl who took over a trashed store with no staff. Now she has staff but there not trained and the DM is over daying its her foult that her satffs not rrady for what they csll inventory. The old manager is rude snobish and knew the store would fail so she left and took a stor that was brand new in taylor MI. This company needs to get its people in order. Then theres telling the employee's to choose there familys or there jobs. This is not right and i feel that this DM who be littles the managers on the sales floor should no longer be there.
employee standards
Was in the dollar general on forest hills rd in wilson nc and the employee by the name of Angela was talking on her cell phone non-stop and was rude to customers. I have been in this store several times and have observed this behavior from the same individual. She also takes her time leaving the store after the store closes. Have observed her leaving anywhere from 11:30 to near midnight in some cases.
