manager/cashier
For one I tried calling 800 number and it doesn't work kept getting a busy signal. But anywaysyou need to have staff that don't have a bad attitude towards customers. I bought some things I think this woman is the store manager her name is Teresa she is very rude and has a bad attitude all the time and she rolled her eyes at me today 2/8/18 for no reason! Something needs to change this is on taylorville, Illinois this lady is rude to every one. She needs to be fired in my opinoin!
manager at hudson, ny store
I go into this Family Dollar store at least twice a month. The last 2 times I have been there, there is a female employee who is a manager and she has been very ignorant. The first time as I was walking through the store, she was loudly talking to another employee about getting beat up by her boyfriend. She was using quite a lot of profanity, talking loud enough for me to hear her throughout the entire store and I found it to be VERY unprofessional. The second encounter was last week. This same female manager once again was using horrible language, talking very loudly and did not even acknowledge me (the customer) when I checked out. Luckily I did not have any children with me because if I did they would have heard tremendously foul language from this employee.
I find this female manager to be very unprofessional, extremely rude, and I do not feel she should be working with the public if this is the norm for her.
wrongful termination
I am a formal assistant manager of family dollar store number 11362 in Sumter, S.C. on Thursday February 1st 2018, I was terminated at the end of my shift. There was an issue about money being missing out of my envelope at the end of the day. I got a call Wednesday night January 31st of the incident. I told the store manager I wasn't sure why the money was missing because I put the exact amount in the envelope and they could review the camera's because I'm not a thief. All footage was looked at by several people and nothing was shown but yet, I still got fired. Mind you there are others that handled the money and nothing was still shown. I never had a write up or coaching with the company and proper protocol was not done but I am I process of an unlawful termination lawsuit. Very unprofessional
cashier customer service
On 1/30/2018 I was in the store on at 5100 Liberty Heights Avenue around 9 pm. I don't know the cashier or the manager's names, but the manager said to another customer that she and the cashier were best friends. They were having a jovial conversation with the customer in line in front of me. The cashier was "popping" gum with every chew as she always does while working.
She rang me up, I paid by debit with my card, then the cashier leaned back against the counter in back of her, started doing something on her cell phone so I said, " I guess I have to get my own receipt." I grabbed my bag of items, tore my receipt from the register and walked out. This young lady is ALWAYS very unprofessional in her mannerisms while servicing customers and it is very unacceptable. Instead of me deciding not to shop at this store, I want the problem fixed and the behavior to stop. I live in walking distance of the store and own 2 vehicles which I can drive to any store of my choosing, but I'd like to shop where I live and just because it is a neighborhood where poorer people tend to live doesn't mean excellence in service shouldn't be expected.
employee
On January 30th approximately 8:20 p. m. I walked into Family Dollar in a hurry I grabbed my stuff and went to the counter I asked one person if they could help me I was in a hurry she was helping another girl that girl ask Dave. If he would help me he walked over to the counter punching in his number to log on to the register the whole time staring me down and then slammed his hand on the counter and looked at me like he wanted to kick my [censor] this is not the first time this has happened and I'm not the first person this is happened to he is very rude to customers and I'm not sure what his problem was but with his attitude the way it was I set my groceries down on the counter and told him if me coming in 20 minutes early to Family Dollar with such a problem with with him then he could put the groceries away himself and I walked out this is unacceptable way to treat customers I'm a business owner myself and I would never treat customers Family Dollar does not close until 9 in our town I feel that if he is preparing to go home 20 minutes early and someone comes in I feel that person should be treated the same as someone who came in at 9 in the morning as I said before this is not the first time this has happened and I'm not the first person this is happened to this is a very aggressive upset individual and we never had this problem in our town at this Family Dollar until they hired this guy if Family Dollar condones this kind of treatment toward their customers I will be taking my business elsewhere as I will also be filing a petition to revoke Family Dollar's business license in our town as I will also file with the Better Business Bureau about the treatment of customers Buy employees with such anger issues
store employee
On 1/27/2018 at approximately 11 AM I sent my 14 year old daughter in the family dollar store located at 4569 Summer Ave Suite 1 Memphis, TN 38122, to load money onto my prepaid Net-spend card. She encountered terrible customer service by your employee by the name of April. April was talking rude and then proceeded to yell at 2 Hispanic ladies. The doors were broken and therefore did not open automatically however, they did not know that so April was yelling at them and pretty much embarrassing them. So, after that my daughter went to the cash register and asked if she could load money onto my card. Your employee April told her that she could not find the card which to my daughter's as well as my confusion we did not know what card she was speaking of. My daughter comes out of the store and tells me the situation so I go back into the store where I found her very occupied with a gentleman and once she saw me her whole demeanor changed. I politely asked her if she could load money on my card and she instantly got with an attitude and said "Like I told her(my daughter) I don't have the card to load money." I explained to her that none of the other employees never had to use a card before I just swiped my card and loaded however much money I wanted on my card. She told me to go ahead and swipe my card but nothing was going to happen. I told her that I didn't think she knew what she was doing and turned to leave the store. I couldn't get out of the store so I asked her how to open the door and her response was "she didn't know" we exchanged words and yes we both used foul language. April was also on her personal cell phone the whole time when in my opinion she should have been attending to the customers.
I was very angry at my her still when I left the store, and unfortunately I said some mean things to my daughter. She was not walking fast enough so I told her she was fat and that is why she cannot walk fast. She started crying, and I told her to stop being a big baby, that she looked stupid and that she was embarrassing me. SHe told me that her feelings are hurt when she I called her fat and stupid and it makes her want to [censored]. I told her to go right ahead one less mouth to feed. I tried to apologize to her and she called her father(we are divorced) and now she is staying with him. He told me that since I verbally abuse her he won't allow me to see her again. He is working with my daughter's school to keep me from my daughter because I verbally abuse her. He told me that was cruel for telling my daughter to go ahead and [censored] because that is one less mouth to feed and is reporting everything I say to her to make her cry to her school, and social workers who are trying to keep me from having visits with my daughter.
unfair scheduling and distribution of hours
To whom this may concern its been happening for months my manager has been claiming she has to reduce hours for everyone, but the reduction of hours has only been affecting me. November 20, 2017- November 26, 2017: my other coworkers were given 25- almost 40 hours and I was given 19 hours. December 10- December 16, 2017: my coworkers were given roughly 20- almost 40 hours again and I was given 14.30 hours. January 14 -January 20, 2018: my coworkers were given 20- almost 40 hours again and I was given 18 hours. The hour cut began January 18, 2018.January 28-February 3rd, 2018: my coworkers were given 25- almost 40 hours again and I received 14 hours. If there is going to be a budget cut in hours I would like to receive fair treatment and everyone receives a budget cut in hours. This has been happening at 9840 Ferguson Road, Dallas, Texas 75228. My manager's name is Natisha Martel and my name is Danesha Johnson.
Until recently my daughter was a Family Dollar store manager...Family Dollar would be happy if they could work store managers only because they are salaried at 52 hours a week but have to work up to 80 hours without compensation for the extra hours. The DM tells them who to give hours to and who to cut.
sexual harassment
I visited your located at 6827 longview rd, kansas city, mo 64134 at 7:45a and noticed the store was not yet opened; I waited outside until opening... While standing outside I experienced the manager of the store, george put his face on the window and proceeded to lick his tongue out and up in a sexual manner... I was instantly disguised...in addition he did not open the doors at 8a despite my apparent wait so I knocked on the window to let them know that it was now opening time... George unlocked the door only to stand in my way blocking the entrance completely hindering me and another customer from entering... He stood very close to me with a grin, almost touching his chest with mine asking why I knocked on the window; when I expressed my dissatisification regarding his sexual perversion he refused to let me in the store completely; I hope this issue is addressed thoroughly, including, but no limited to termination. Hope this issue can be resolved from a corporate level instead of civil. Thanks for your time

Never enough employees takes forever to get checked out and to get any help when certain cashier is there the store manager will not get on register if she see the cashier needs help i go in this store all the time but i think its time i find a new store i hear store manager always talking about how she is the only one who does the work but all i see her do is on her phone i do not think she should be complaining to customers about her asst, managers when i see them working hard But however the store is usually very clean thats why i like to shop there its not cluttered
breach of refund policy embarrassment and harassment
I must say I can't believe Family dollar has refused to refund me 2.00 for nail top coat that was already wrapped up in tape the last one and the worker short me if anything was wrong with that I could bring it back I return to the store within 30 minutes to get a refund I was embarrassed in the store told I cannot exchange it or not even get my refund with my receipt and tell a manager was there I called a couple times told management will call me back it's the principle of the situation I feel like I've been hurt and discriminated against and I'm just asking Family Dollar to help me this store is located on Kuykendahl in Houston Texas I have tried to call the store back over seven times they want not even answer my phone calls this is very ridiculous spent a lot of money patronizing Family Dollar over the last year's and for me to get mistreated over $2 it's not fair to me or how my family was embarrassed I don't understand what the problem is I'm just asking for some help I've been includedpictures and the receipt thank you
i'm not complaining about a product i'm complaining about overall services at this particular family dollar!!!
I live around the corner from this family Dollar located in the Bronx at 166th street an Ogden avenue! The employees are never dressed in appropriate attire red and biege pants! There are never any family Dollar bags at checkout instead patrons have to deal with hefty Garbage bags! There are inappropriate conversations being held by employees on the floor! Customers are constantly arguing with employees and the employees have no professional job editcate upon responding to certain patrons or situations! The store is constantly a mess you can see employees doing as they wish in and around the store premises! There have also been seen sexually incidents between employees and customers after hour hanging out inside the store when doors close @10! Employees are drinking while on the job or coming in drunk with the stinch of alcohol present! Please get this store in order as it is the only one we have in this area! Thank you!

holding manager
Hi I am a frequent customer at Family Dollar located on Richfield and Center Road in Flint Michigan. I am writing because I have had no luck trying to contact any manager, supervisor, nor a corporate contact phone number. The date this incident occurred was Tuesday 1/16/2018 I believe. Around 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon. I was there speaking to an employee in the cereal aisle because I wanted to search cereal coupons on my phone app, and he helped me find them.
We started talking about saving money using the coupons, because we have kids that eat a lot... We probably spent 30 minutes talking about kids and our jobs.
During that time I told him where I worked (Richfield Court Apartments) and informed him that we are in the process of cleaning the place up, and we had one tenant in there still who is in the process of moving and once he is gone, since he is a squatter and staying in a vacant building, and sells drugs- he is all around a very bad person.. once he is gone we can start fresh and remodel.
The holding manager (Fredrika Mckinney) was listening from an aisle over because I had not seen her, however SHE is the cousin of the tenant I was talking about to your other employee. I had never said his name at all... SHE went back and told this drug dealer that I had said all kinds of things about him in Family Dollar! I was threatened today at work by this "squatter/ drug dealer" and he told me exactly who told him what I said and told me to watch my back.
That is very unprofessional, not only that, I feel very scared to come to work... I was not speaking to her NOR did she know whom I was talking about. She was OUT OF LINE TO ASSUME and because of her, I will have to carry pepper spray or some form of protection at my job!
I do not feel as if she should represent your company at all because of this matter and I would like to speak to someone regarding this matter. I called this store #2088 and spoke with my regular cashier, whom is a great worker by the way- her name is Sherry.. and she gave me the name of the manager. I am scared to shop at this store now in fear that what I buy and times that I shop, she may call her cousin up there if I am alone. Please contact me at [protected]. My name is Chelsee. Thank you for your time.
maple nut goodies
I bought a pack from the family dollar on January 18th 2018 and they were wayyyy to hard to even eat was a bit disappointed cause I lived 35-40 minutes away and I knew I couldn't return them in a timely manner for a refund so I just gave them to my dog for a Friday treat, but this is my favorite candy and I have never experienced this before and they hadn't expired they are good until 05/24/2018
service

I had to leave my stuff and Leave because it was so rude I didn't want nothing to do with that store anymore! He need fired This is also not the first time he has been so rude also the other night I went there and about 15 minutes before closing they had already locked the store, the sign said open till 10 and it was 9:45pm.

I entered Family Dollar at this location with my wife to purchase garbage bags. Upon entering I was asked to remove my hood. I was wearing a sweatshirt and had my hood on because it was cold. This was very offensive and discriminatory. My wife was wearing a hat that covered her head just like my hood. Why was she not asked to remove her head gear. I've gone to several Family Dollar locations and have never been asked that before. If this is store policy then there needs to be a sign located on the window so patrons can see. There was no sign posting this policy. I did not appreciate it and will probably not patronize your stores again. This really needs to be looked into because as a customer I'm pretty sure I am not the only one that has been offended by this. I look forward to your response on this matter.

false advertising
I went shopping and the clothing rack was marked 50% off, look for black and brown squares... I took 2 items to the cash register and the cashier told me that not all items on the rack were 50% off, just select. So she rung them up and they indeed were not marked down. I told her they both had a black square on them and she said that didn't matter. So I asked her, well then how would you know if something is 50% off, and she said, I don't know, I guess bring them up to the register. Really? What kind of service is this...shouldn't they be put on a separate rack then so people can identify what is on sale and what is not...?
management
I was offered a job in management, did everything required of me. Was told to hurry up and do the assessment so we can begin the paper work. When I had gotten the job turns out it was a bait and switch because I did not apply to be a part time employee and I have many text showing that. I will not work for a company who's employees/Management lack courage or cannot stand by their word. Maybe tgey need to take the assessment test again. I need Todd the DM from store 4270 to see this because there is so much more that this will not allow me to write.
customer service
I went today to the Family Dollar in Methuen on Jackson Street and the customer service was horrible and she was cursing in Spanish on her cell phone and follow me my kids everywhere terrible, I think they need to change the staff, every one that works there is family, every time u want something they never got it but it's behind the counter for them selves I think is horrible ...
manager
Just want to complain about Manager at Store #7095. She is very rude to customers tells them not to come into the store when she is there if we don't like the way she does things. The store is always a mess and she is usually on her phone while customers are in the store. A lot of people have said they will not go in there anymore cause she is the rudest person around. She fired a lot of good employees that were very nice and kept the store nice and organized, So just wondering how long your company is going to allow this to happen to your store. She is running people out of there. So I guess if you want to keep losing business then keep her in charge I think you need to get rid of her for your business sake. Please email me back about my response. Thank you Shelly E-Mail [protected]@msn.com
