customer service
I visited the Family Dollar Store on 10911 N Western on 12/17/2017 around 830pm. I was followed by the cashier throughout the store. The cashier was so close to me that when I stopped walking she bumped into me. I asked her why she was following me, I offered her my backpack, that was attached to my back. She could clearly see that I was not stealing. The cashier said she was following me because it was folded over and it looked like it had something in it. I said no, can I please get an apology. You just profiled me. The cashier then called me a [censor] kicked me out the store. She then began trying to attack me outside, a customer had to pick her up to keep her from hitting me.
cashier
I went into Family Dollar on Cedar and Shields in Fresno, Ca. The cashier Charles or Charlie, goes by Chuck charged me twice for an item. I then realized how he rang up my items caused me not to save as much as I was suppose to. I then proceeded to go back in and talk with the then manager on site Dewight. He was so rude and disrespectful. He did not want to help me and left me to be helped by a female associate who didn't really know much of what she was doing. He did not believe me and went to watch the cameras and contact Chuck who had already gone home and proceeded to call me a liar through the phone. I am completely upset and hurt by this whole experience. I frequently shop many Family Dollars. I regret going to this particular one tonight. I just wanted my correct discounts and money back.

lack of proper customer service
I went into the family dollar store 485 Delaware Ave
Albany, NY 12209 on 12/14/17 at approx 11am. I went in to get a few items. I observed a security guard at the front door. I am a professional Registered nurse a black woman and make quite a good salary. I have felt insulted and annoyed being followed around the store by a white heavyset woman who the cashier identified as the store manager. Every time I looked up. Very deameaning! I spent quite a bit of cash and told the security guard I didn't appreciate the following me around acting like she was shopping treatment! worse a white woman (customer) was walking around and asked me if there's anyone around to get some help. Sounds like that store needs new management or sensitivity training ASAP
customer service
I went into the store #03215 today, 12/14/2017, to do a refund on a package of underwear. The cashier called the manager to complete the refund. As she completed my return I asked for my original receipt back as I had more items on there. She than looked in detail at my receipt and questioned if I really need it back cause all I have is food and 2 other clothing items anyway. I said yes I do. She said I guess and threw the receipt down in the counter. As a person who's worked in retail for 7 years I felt it wasn't her business at all what was on there or if I really needed it back. She did not have a visible name tag so I asked her name, she said Lisette. I have been shopping at this store for 15 years & not once had a rude encounter till today.
customer service - unfriendly and rude
I visited the new Family Dollar, store #11934, in Rutland, Ohio (it's listed as being in Middleport, Ohio) yesterday, Dec. 13 at approximately 3:30pm. I entered and was NOT greeted, while looking at the cards an individual came up beside me and pushed my cart into the card display case after brushing up against me. I turned and saw that is was an employee of Family Dollar. Tall young man with glasses. Apparently he needed to get to his cell phone to make a call but did not have the courtesy of saying excuse me or even acknowledge that I was there. No one asked if they could help me as I was looking thru the aisles, when I went to check out I was, TOLD not asked, to get in the line across from the register I had been standing at of which did NOT have a sign indicating that register was closed. And lastly, as I left, the manager was bringing in carts from outside and I held the door open for her and did NOT get a thank you, a smile or an acknowledgement of any sort. Everything Family Dollar states about what their customer service should be was NOT followed or honored by these employees. This store will not last very long if the employees treat the customers in the fashion. If I ever stop in there again I will most definitely verbalize my discontent to the manager on duty if I am treated in this fashion again.

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Travis Holmes and I am a local customer who shops at your convenient store most of the time. I am writing because I am very concerned about how I was treated in one of your stores simply because I wore a backpack inside.
On December 13, 2017 approximately between 9:30 am and 9:54 am, as I was shopping in your BooneHill Rd, Summerville, SC location, I was approached by one of the cashiers in the store. She indicated to me that I was not allowed in the store with a backpack to which I replied, "I have my wallet and other personal belongings in my backpack." My small backpack measures: 7.23" high and 3.04" wide. The cashier approached me without saying, "hi" or "excuse me, " to get my attention in a proper manner. Then, she indicated that this is store policy, which I indicated that I was not aware of this, because I shopped at several Family Dollar stores and this is the first time hearing this for me. I stated to her, "I am not going to steal items out of a dollar store, because it is not worth going to jail over a dollar." She replied, "I know that right and you can keep your backpack on, because I trust you."
I am still shocked and frankly disappointed that I was questioned in such a manner, me being a black male, with a coat on [it is cold today], and wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo backpack. It seems to me that I was approached because of those reasons and not because of a store policy.
However, I am still appalled and very confused about the approach of the store clerk and this nonsensical store "policy." When I approached the cashier who is the same person who rang me up and approached me in the store on one of the isles, I asked her about why I was approached? Was I approached because I was black? I know that black people, to some, always look suspicious. Why was I approached in such a manner? She indicated again that this is store policy and has been the store's policy for a long time.
Then, I asked her if this policy applies to ladies who walk in the store with a purse, because a purse can be a backpack and you are able to pack things in a purse. The other cashier indicated that this only applies to those who are wearing a backpack and not a purse, which still does not make sense to me as a customer and reasonable thinker. At this time, the other cashier indicated that her store manage does not wear a backpack in the store as well, because this is store policy. Frankly, I don't care about the store manager not wearing a backpack, because the store manager is not a customer and as a customer-I am thinking about not going back into a Family Dollar Store and posting this on Facebook and YouTube to make my family, friends, and those who are darker or brown complexion to be aware of being questioned - if you are male, black, and have a backpack on your shoulder.
In conclusion, my questions/concerns are: 1) If this is a store policy, there should be signs posted indicating this policy in all of the stores, 2) Customer service is poor based on the way I was questioned, and 3) It is a discriminating practice concerning the possession of a backpack considering the fact that women are allowed to shop with purses as well as large diaper bags and strollers.
Please address this issue, because this is alarming and distasteful to say at least.

customer services
The services of the workers are rude before I could get in the door good the cashier worker had said to leave the backpack at the checkout. (okay, they already have an electronic system that welcomes you then tell you the have a Sullivan camera.so common sense I was walking in to place the backpack on the counter anyway, the cashier rudely say you need to but backpack here! I" I replied, can I come in the door first I know what to do." I Was not coming here to take nothing I am here to buy " she was its policy. no matter how you feel. I don't like this store and I make sure that every customer will be aware how poorly and how sad this store treat ppl
older women discrimination in workplace and as customers
I spend thousands yearly at our local FD, which used to be a friendly place for both clerks and customers. We have a new manager in her 20's who shoves all the late shifts onto her older workers. As a loyal and friendly customer she follows me up and down every isle while I shop as though I am a criminal. I've never stolen a thing in my life and have 3 federally approved background checks to prove it. She won't even let me interact with other customers, she follows me there and asks them after we've spoken "you okay?" as though I had assaulted them rather than said "good afternoon!" I've had it with her rude and discriminatory behavior and now travel an extra 20 miles to another store to get away from her. She thinks she's hot stuff, but she's poisoning our small town with her age and gender biased attitude. Someone in FD put this witch on probation!
crystal sitzais, store no.576
i am very bothered to have to inform you in such a manner, but due to the severity of the matter, truly feel that it should be addressed immediately, the store in reference, has encountered a great deal of metal stress due to team effort as well as a lack of management skills or leadership, as a valued customer these are a few of the issues that i would very much appreciate your undivided attention that has shown lacking in Ms.Crystal Sitzais, before we loose another valued employee, as for now scheduling is as to my attention is only in her best interest, the environment has been bought to my attention as well as to being very cold atmosphere which has been bought to her attention as well but has yielded no results, the staff at this store seem to love their jobs but a lack of scheduling has has caused some family hardships, as a retired community leader and planning board member would very much appreciate your addressing the matter and hoping each of you happy holidays, and a prosperous New Year.
sales clerk named dawn
The rudest person I have Ever incounted And I lived in New York for 11yrs. I wanted to pay for my purchase with a 20$ bill. I was told by Dawn I had to make a purchase of 5$ or more. I asked where is that regulation posted. She stated she made it. I said that I come to this store all the time and this is never a rule. She stated she made it her rule. I told her I would be contacting the corporate office. Really cashier can make store policy at will?
customer service complaint
I went to family dollar at 1201 w. Historic Mitchell St. Store number 11816 12/11/17 at 8: 40 am. I had a few items to return. They were purchased at a few other stores. If I am returning something I always put a dit next to the item. First the manager said I couldnt return anything because I exchanged them already. I only exchanged 2 things one time. Had all receipts. Then she said I had to go back to where I bought them. So I said no u can return them at any store. She got loud and said I know the policy. so I said ill call corporate. She said I dont care call them. So I googled store policy. Said it can be returned anywhere. So I went back in the store. There were 2 customers at the counter she was very loud telling the other employee about me and what had just transpired. I said yes shes talking about me. She said your right I am. So the guy asked me to show my items. He returned the 2 prs of pants that I had exchanged once.in between I called your store # 10580. Asked manager there about return policy. I told her what he said but she still argued with me. So the guy that returned the pants for me said he could not return the toys because they were buy one get one half off. And it was showing full price when he scanned it. So again then I had to go to another store. # 06293. They returned all the rest of the items. Now, something needs to be done with this snotty manager at store # 11816. I am elderly and disabled. Tjis was very hard for me as I do not get around very easily. I am contacting the news media also. This is not the first time she has been rude to a customer. Another time she was rude to myself and another customer. I spend alot of money in the Family dollar stores. Just in 2 days alone 11/29 and 11/30 I spent 74.00. Not to mention all the other trips I make there and the money spent there. My name is Ruth Boncher 1512 west mitchell st. Milwaukee, wisconsin 53204. Phone number is [protected]. Thank you. your prompt attention is greatly appreciated.
pedigree small breed dog food
Today I visited a store to buy dog food. When I arrived in the pet aisle I observed a bag of pedigree dog food on sale for 6.95, when I asked the manager was this the price he said no it's 11$ (eleven dollars) and pointed to a price tag atleast 5 inches away that read 11$ however the price tag was under a different brand of dog food, so I told him that it was an honest mistake of one of his employees and I asked was he going to honor the 6.95 since the price tag read 6.95 that was directly under the pedigree small breed dog food. He proceeded to get loud and belligerent with me an told me I was "one of them cheap [censor] customers always looking for a discount". Then proceeded to tell me how he "wasn't honoring [censor]". This happened at 1231 w. Pratt street baltimore, md 21223 the managers name was devin.
manager/employee
December 9th Manager Regina Robinson caught a young lady shoplifting. Rather than call the law she called the girls mother. This lady was old enuff to be arrested for shoplifting sweat pants. Her name is Amber her mother is Tracing Wyer a good friend of Regina
Shortly after Regina becoming manager. She came to me and said cameras didn't work. Wednedsay truck came to come in. She told me to come in and shoplift whatever I like as long Asia carried out what her and Amber Cosco had put back for theirselves. This went on for quite sometime until one day the city police were waiting on me. I had my 4year old daughter with me. She wanted her juice out of car I asked Regina to go and get that for at that time she put marijuana in my daughters jacket in the car.so I received shoplifting got the ticket. Cop followed me to the car and asked for ky daughters coat. At that time I got a possession ticket. I have lost custody of my daughter due to this. Amber has posted on Facebook bragging about it. Needless to saysl she was involved with my husband and still is. They totally set me up. So my question is what is Protocol for catching shoplifting l feel I got rolled and have lost my daughter. Which is exactly what my soon to be x husband wanted was my daughter. Whilethis went on I witnessed Regina selling prescription drugs several times. Is this how the Family Dollar wants a manager representing their store in a small town...
I took very personal and my daughter never needed involved. YES I was also wrong and I paid my fines and lost my daughter...
early close
I arrived at the family dollar located on Germantown Avenue at 8:54 there was someone at the door stating they were close, Im upset because if I knew they locked the doors early I would have stayed home! Is this acceptable? i asked the guy who was at the door is this something you guys are allowed to do he told me yes! If family dollars are allowed to close the door before the actual time it say on the website and on the door then this is something customers need to be warned about!
While they should not have closed until their advertised time, it is rather rude to show up to the store so close to closing time. Did you ask them why they were closing early? They may have been short-staffed or had an unexpected issue that prevented them from assisting customer.
employee
I went today to the family dollar to buy some Christmas items and on my way to the checkout an female worker working there was telling a fellow male worker to cancel a man's purchase. Which would've been fine except that she went on to bad talk the costumer and make assumptions based on how he was dressed. She said and I quote, "He has a hole in his pocket so he could've lost it. He didn't even check to see who was behind him." She even yelled at the man when he returned from his house which was next door saying, "If you walk out that door I will not save anything!" When the man in front of us has also walked out the door without a word and she still had us wait until he returned. The man she yelled at told her why he was leaving and politely asked her if she could hold his items. Please check your workers at the store location #6732. This isn't my first time seeing that employee do this. She wasn't even paying attention to us while we were being checked out because she was too busy badmouthing the man. This happened at 5:30 pm 12/09/17.
Unfortunately since you were not a direct participant in the entire situation, you may not have the full details of what happened. That being said, you can still consider calling the store or corporate office to provide your feedback since you have seen similar behavior in the past.

I have been a customer of this store for 15 + years I shopped in this store 2 to 4 days weekly
Recently I went to the store to purchase a few things as I was going through the checkout line putting my items on counter and cashier was checking me out getting ready to pay a woman who was behind me in line bends down as if picking something up stands back up hands a bag of chips to me and the cashier and says this fell out of your purse when you took it off your shoulder I told it had not I didn't even have any of those and gave them to cashier I paid for the items I was buying and left nothing else said by cashier
Three days later I go back to the store and another cashier that I know said to me I need to talk to you I said fine we went outside we talked she said the manager whom I also know said that she had to ask me about what had happened I told her she said OK and everything was fine I went in and shopped
A week later I go back to store and I see the assistant manager I also know run to office to get manager then the manager comes out to me and tells me that I am no longer allowed in store because there were two customer witnesses who saw a bag of candy fall out of my purse
This is so very unprofessional of the staff of this store I am appalled I do not steal and being falsely accused with no proof
