Ford should be jailed for this scam esp extended warranty. I bought a brand new 2008 f - 150 during that year. At the time, I told the salesmen I intended to keep this truck a long time. He talked me into the esp and maintenance package and rust proofing and all along assured me that for 5 years, the only thing out of my pocket would be the monthly payment and gas. I have gotten my truck serviced every 8000 at the dealer. My truck now has 67000km on it and last week, the steering shaft broke on it. Apparently a full sized pickup designed for offroad capabilities can't handle round town regular driving. To my surprise, the dealer told me I would have to pay $600 to get my truck back and that my part wasnt covered under esp. I looked at my brochure which clearly states steering linkages are covered, but still they wouldnt cover it. This is fraudulent. I gave them $2000 for a useless extended warranty and am still paying for repairs. How can they get away with this. Since last week, I have heard so many similar stories from others. It's all bad enough that these trucks are having such major issues with so few kms. One guy sitting next to me at work had his tranny go at 64000 and another had his engine go at 67000. Those guys were lucky to be covered under drivetrain, but still had a runaround to get repairs. Fords are literally disposable trucks sold cheap with the intent that the buyer will always buy a new one every 3 years. Dont even get me started on the resale value on the [censor] thing, after last week, I put it up for sale for less than book value and I have not so much as had a nudge. I will never buy a pos ford again. And I will be sure to tell all friends, coworkers and family to never buy one.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Problem with this review is that he buys one car, not one type of car, but one car and judges the quality of this particular vehicle to all of them that ford has to offer. In my experience, I had a 1995 thunderbird LX and ran the wheels to the ground (300, 000) miles. When I sold it, it was still running like a charm because I took good care of it. I had a 1984 ford LTD. Ran pretty good. Not too many problems but when I scraped it, it was still running, I really wish I kept it for a big project. Now I have a 2009 Ford Focus SES. The only problem I had so far was the bearings on the compressor pulley stripped out so I had that replaced and I still had the warranty on it. It currently has 37, 000 miles on the engine and runs like a champ. I have zero complaints about this company at all because I take really good care of my cars. You can make any car last as long as you don't drive like a [censored] like 99 % of the people on this planet. To top it off, ford also makes the best trucks on this planet.
I just returned from the Ford Service department to get my tires rotated on my 2007 Mustang. They told me my tires were dry rot. I bought the car from Freehold Ford, it is a certified used car. I have the car for a little over a year. I don't think tires should dry rot in a year. This leaves me to believe that they sold me the car with tires that were already dry rot. By the way the car only has a little over 22, 000 miles on it. Since the car is a certified used car the tires should have been changed before it was sold to me. Don't you think?
Vehicle was sent to dealer to have electronic steering repaired after an accident.
Vehicle ha been back to the dealer 3 times--steering does not perform correctly.
Dealer stated that is all they can do---steering is correct.
My daughter has the same year and model vehicle--her steering works correctly, mine still doesn't.
Allstate Insurance should never have repaired this vehicle and All American Ford doesn't know how to!
Apon taking my Fiesta for a service. The following:I scheduled a service with Ford Hatfield on above date and booked vehicle in for service. I asked to do the following:
Breaks front, wiper blades and pollen filter check. (And do not wash vehicle).
After an hour I was contacted to say that I need to contact them as breaks needs replacement with cost estimate as well as wiper blades cost estimation given. When speaking to Yvette (service agent) she said I was given the wrong book (not even seeing it) that says “Scheduled service plan”. One set of wiper blades every year. After not going into a huge argument I agreed to pay the R 437.92 Excluding Vat and labour for the Wiper blades as well as to replace brake pads and disks.
Today the 4th of August I get a chance to look if work was carried out. The following:
1. I was charged for 500ml of dot 4 brake fluid and I do not know how much fitted in but it was filled to the brim (Although any vehicle has a minimum and maximum level indicator since I owned my first vehicle in 1976 and they had minimum, maximum levels.)Even my currently owned 1974 mini has this.?...
2. The air filter was not replaced and is a service item as per scheduled service and in service plan.(Should have been replaced)
3. When asked if they do not do plugs in this interval they said no, while this is in the service plan that it should be replaced as per scheduled service. I have now driven 30800km’s and if the vehicle has to go another 20 000km’s before plugs are done it means I would have done 50800km’s with a set of plugs. Is this how it should be? (What did I pay for with regards to service plan)?. Must I buy my own plugs? Will this be under warranty conditions if I replace them?.
4. They say on the invoice pollen filter checked. I wonder what? Is it cleaned?, replaced?, blown out with compressed air or what?
Very unhappy client of Hatfield Ford. This is my third new Ford from you but I think of changing to a different make of vehicle if this is the type of service I will be receiving. Thank you for the time spent on vehicle though it was ready at 11h20 after I booked it in 6h47. No complaints here.
Please contact me for us to settle this in a reasonable manner to keep me as a Ford client. I arranged with sales I will be in the market for a new vehicle in October 2011 but with such service I would not suggest myself to purchasing a Ford.
FORD ESP is TOTAL SCAM. My rad went and transmission went (both ARE covered under the ESP), however, the crooks as American Road Insurance Company (Fords ESP company) denied it. I am suing Ford. THeir CEO will be getting papers in the next week. They deny the claim and peope have to suck it up.
They are a complete fraud. They fiugre that people will not, or dont know how to, go to court to fight the claim. I am taking this to them. They are no better than US Fidelis (extra warranty provider convicted of fraud).
We had purchased a vehicle and had a trade-in. At the end of the 30day intransit we still had no vehicle title. There was alot of issues with the vehicle we had purchased so we had rusty eck bring our trade-in back and pick up the vehicle we had bought. Upon the return of our trade-in the stereo had no face plate and its been since the return of the vehicle we have placed several calls to rusty eck about this issue and nobody answers our calls or upon leaving messages we get no response.
Please contact me at [protected] or my cell phone at [protected]. I would like to assist you.

Thanx for allowing me to review your complaints. I am holding an ESP brochure for my 2010 ford Explorer . After reading all of the comments, the brochure is going into the trash. Y'all saved me a few bucks and a bunch of headaches.
In 1985 I bought a Chevy cargo van. Very good vehicle however, at 112, 000 miles the engine developed hydro-compression. I sold it as is. In 1991 I bought a(1989) Chevy Astro van with goodies. This was the best riding vehicle I ever owned. I could drive it for ten hours straight and not tire. Well, guess what happened at 113, 500 miles. You guessed it. Hydro -compression. I liked this vehicle so much that I had a factory rebuilt engine installed. The vehicle ran fine until 112, 345 miles and I had the same damn thing happen again. This time I called the Kidney Foundation and they hauled it away. The moral of this complaint is this: Don't ever buy a Chevy 4.3L V6 engine unless you can get a 150, 000 mile warranty on it. I sure do miss that old Astro Van.
Ford ESP is a rip off. Earnhardt Ford sold me an extended warranty for $1800. The warranty says it is good for 75, 000 miles. My vehicle a 2008 Pontiac Torrent had 19, 300 miles on it when I bought it. The person righting up my contract checked off a new plan. I assumed that it was a new plan, since I was just getting a vehicle. The warranty was new to me. Turns out the warranty was for 75, 000 miles. This gave me 5 years to drive on average of 11, 140 miles a year. That is impossible in Arizona. Arizona is very wide spread. Took my car in at about 92, 000 miles. Needed work on turn signal and door actuator hardly anything to do with miles on the car. No bull is their slogan. Sounds like a lot of bull to me. I hope the $400 they saved by ripping me off was worth a family worth of customers.

Thanks, was getting ready to purchase a ESP warrenty on my 2005 Sport Track Explorer for around $1800.00 which has less than 35, 000 miles on it. Had to have the seals replaced in the 4x4 transmission back in Janurary 2012 because of leaks at my expence $450.00. Guess I'll start a repair fund instead.
My Ford was wrecked (totaled) with over half of the extended warranty ($2100) remaining. I never had a claim. I received $245 credit. Bernie Madoff must have thought this up. Save your money.
Bought ford ESP premium warranty. Took 5 mins for the sales person to sell the warranty to me. Navigation system mechanical failure(covered by the warranty) and FORD is keeping my car for 4days now to get the inspection done. WITHOUT approving me rental. DON'T BUY THIS. The ESSp will do their best to screw your life over and make you feel miserable if you file a claim even though it is clearly listed on the brochure that it is a covered item.
On a recent cross country trip I stopped at the Ford dealership I bought my 1996 F-150 4X4 from, because the speed control on my truck wasn't working. I found out that there was a SAFETY recall on the wiring and switch that connects to the brake master cylinder, this switch tends to leak causing a possible FIRE! The tech's at the dealership told me that my truck was the worst case they had seen and I was lucky that my truck didn't catch fire! Because of this DEFECT there was subsidiary damage to the speed control SERVO and the wiring harness connected to it, they both were burnt badly!
The dealership told me that ford should cover this damage because the wiring that was on the recall caused the subsequent damage! Needless to say, when the dealership called FORD, they refused to cover the additional damage, the SERVO was $800 I found one at a wrecker for $75 and the wiring harness was $150 plus $150 labor to install! The dealership gave me a break on the parts and labour, my bill was $254.31 I am concerned about the used Servo, I think FORD should replace it and re-imburse me for my other expenses totalling $329.31 Ford's excuse was that the recall has been out for a few years and that the RECALL notice was mailed out, so the repairs were not done in a reasonable time! I had moved 2 times and the truck wasn't registered for a few years, apparently FORD is punishing me for moving!
I am not very happy with FORD and will NOT recommend a FORD product to anyone!
The affected vehicles are- [protected] Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and Ford Bronco vehicles to correct a systems interaction that could cause the speed control deactivation switch to overheat and lead to an underhood fire. Ford estimates that there are approximately 3.8 million of these vehicles on the road today in the U.S.
Ok, I know a Ford Fiesta is not at the top of the range as far as cars go, but it still cost me a lot of money and what do I get? The car leaks water as soon as there is a drop of rain. I may as well drive a convertable with the roof down!
My dealer has had the car back in at least ten times now and each time they say the problem is fixed, but it never is. I want Ford to take the car back and repay me the money I have spent. It is only six months old!
I wont be buying another car made by them ever.
Bought a Ford Fusion 2010 Hybrid, expensive car. When I first bought it, I made 8 trips to the dealer because they scratched the roof and side panel when they were cleaning it and putting on the special coating (extra $), the service man's belt buckle must have scratched it. The cowl on the windshield was defective, the rubber door molding was replaced because water came in through the window. The dashboard was stained when they put on the extra protective coating, 2 years to get it to the same color. I have NOW asked that they fix the steering wheel because the "SURFACE LAYER IS PEELING OFF" where I do not even put my hands. The DEALER and the REGIONAL FORD MANAGER said they can do nothing for me, it is considered trim - even though I bought their expensive bumper to bumper policy for 6 years or 100, 000 miles. I was even looking at another Ford 1 month ago for my wife but have changed my mind. I went to the dealer 1 week ago to have a light replaced and have pictures taken of the steering wheel, they forgot to change the light, I even told the service man I was stopped by a police officer - TERRIBLE SERVICE - AND I travel 50 minutes each way to get there. GOODBYE FORD.
Hi - We were driving to Noida in our Ford Fiesta this Sunday On July 15 when the car abruptly came to a halt and the next thing we knew - there was a loud explosion and the entire car bonnet was on fire. And by fire I mean the entire front of the car was engulfed in flames at least 8 feet high. Even as me and my husband pulled out my 5 year old son from the burning car, we realized that the entire road jam packed with cars was at risk in case there was any explosion. Thankfully, the fire did not spread beyond the bonnet and nobody got hurt but it took the better part of the next hour to fully extinguish the car using armfuls of mud. I really thought it was a one off incident but when I checked the internet, these cars are going off like bombs.
Thanks to all of you for saveing me $2440.68 on my 2012 Escape for this ESP ( BS ) Plan !
I bought a 2009 Ford Flex in 2010. Shortly after I received a letter about buying an extended warranty for it. I called the 800 number and was told it would be good for 100, 000 miles or four more years. Well neither one came about. I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES AND CALIPERS ON IT. I had it done near home were the car stopped. Not wanting to further ruin anything I had it fixed not by a Ford dealer but a garage at home.
I called the 800 number an they said to have a Ford dealer call them about what happened. In doing so I found out the warranty that was suppose to last for 100, 000 miles or four years would expire July 2013. I in turn called the 800 number only to find out the extended warranty started when the car was still being manufactured in 2008 Not from the date I bought the policy.
I RECEIVED NOTHING IN THE MAIL ABOUT WERE TO TAKE THE CAR OR WHAT WAS COVERED.
I feel they stole the money and ripped off me in mileage or years not yet here. At this time I, ve got a little over 58, 000 miles a far cry fro 100’000 or four years that was suppose to be. since then I canceled the warranty . They were suppose to send a refund which I haven’t received as of yet.
I didn’t even know it was canceled until today when I visited the Ford dealer and they told me . Nothing in the mail about being canceled. I’m retired an on a fixed income. So I need every cent an don’t need to worry about car problems.
Noticed issues with first oil change on new car. Too much red tape and RUN I repeat RUN from ESP plan offered by Ford dealerships. Got feeling if first oil change would become such an issue that these people would make dealing with legitimate claims supposedly covered under extended warranty a real nightmare for the consumer! A real ripofff.
I'm glad that I don't fall for any of that BS that these clowns at the dealerships dish out. BEWARE !
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! Technically extended warranty re-sells the original manufacturer warranty for used cars...
RUN FAST AND RUN FAR FROM FORD! Our 2008 Ford Escape's transmission died at 77K! no other junk dares to die at 77K.
RUN and get anything else on wheels!
Thanks for all your comments. I am staring at a $1367.60 Ford ESP plan for my 2010 Ford Escape, which will soon fall outside the limits of the 3-year manufacturers' warranty. Now that I know what you all have experienced with your ESPs, I am going to toss this ESP brochure in the trash and thank my lucky stars I didn't blow my money on it. Thank you.
I own a 2007 Ford focus hatchback. Bought brand new in the beginning of 2008, purchased the extended warranty plan up to 5 years or 75, 000 miles. 2012 I'm not sure what happened but my car just took a noise dive.. everything all at once starting with my motor mounts. Mind you my car a t this time had only 72, 000 miles on it. This part is on me, I brought the car to a trusted mechanic, over looking my warranty. Of course you can only buy the part's from Ford cost about $645.00 to fix. My mechanic didn't drive the car after replacing. Car still had problems Brought it to Ford... this is where the fun begins. Car wasn't tracking well and noises coming from the front end, and yes i paid to have my tires rotated and balanced before bringing to Ford. They reminded me of my warranty I was stoked! Got me a rental and kept my car. Called me later that night asking me if I was sure my car was doing the things I said. I replied yes I'm sure! They said well does your boyfriend hear the noises too? I said yes he does. They asked me to come down the next day and drive with one of there technician's, which I did. There technician said I was just real sensitive to my car and he'll take a look and tighten thing's up for me. Car was at dealership for a week and a half. Finally get the call it's done cost a $100.00 deductible. I drive off feels exactly the same. So I take it back to them, they get me another rental. They have it for three days and replace one lower tie rod. Another $100.00, I ask there rep. about my engine mounts, if there is any way I can be reimbursed for them since I have the warranty, he says he'll check. I leave car feels the same. It's so noticeable to me I feel uncomfortable even driving in good weather conditions. It rain's I had to drive my car going 30 miles and hr. On the freeway. with my hazard lights on because I could hardly keep my car from swaying. So I think could it be tires I buy new tires $645.00 for good-year weather something tire's. They of course balance and align them for me. Car drives better but still the problem. I was balancing my account's when i see 2 charges on my credit card from the rental company for the 2 rental cars Ford was to pay for. The next day I call Ford they tell me to call the rental place, I do. They tell me to call Ford, Ford never told them they were paying for my rental. I went down in person. They offer no answer's about anything my car, the motor mounts, the rentals i was wrongly charged for. They say i have to talk to the guy who does the books. I do. He pretends to call Corporate about mounts says call back in an hour. It has been a month since the first time I had asked. Anyway two weeks after that. I get reimbursed for the rentals. took them 1 1/2 months to get me my $ back. My car is still not fixed. I take it to a different dealer. Let me say that this was the latter of the two places. My car is still not fixed has been 3 months since my first visit at Ford. Some how I got a parking ticket that ended up costing me $194.00 dollars, and it was almost sent to collections. Cause I didn't know about it. They got grease all over the interior of my car, blew my speaker's, drove a whole tank of gas out of my car, to the point of the gas light being on. Told me that they had to detach my car from it's sub-frame not covered under warranty, to align it properly. Left my window down in a rain storm. Also didn't pay for the rental, they agreed to pay for had my car almost a month. Never fixed the problem, Which is the shocks and the struts, ya know part of the suspension which is what i had originally brought it to them for. I no longer have warranty car is at 76, 000 +. My point with this little story is yes the warranty is a scam, It does you no good if the scammers at Ford refuse to honor it, use it to trick you, tell you it's stuff that's not under warranty, etc keep you coming back for that $100.00 deductible. I say boycott Ford altogether. My car is worse now then when I brought it to them in the first place.
Thank you for sharing your horrible story of disgust with Ford and their warranty shenanigans. I was originally tempted to buy an extended warranty, but after reading enough stories like yours, I decided against it. My warranty is over at the end of July and I'll just pay out of pocket for any needed repairs after that. However, doubtful I will take it to Ford for repairs or maintenance, that's for sure.
I've had the opposite experience and am GLAD I bought a ESP. Bought a 7 year 75K ESP from Ford dealer in 2006 for $1850 when I bought my new F350. Have used it twice - once for $1200 A/C and just a few days ago (a month before the warrantly expires!) for a $3K repair. Both times I paid the $100 deductible and that was that.
Traded a 2010 Ford F150 P/U truck on Memorial Day weekend 2013
The dealership said it would be aprox 4-6 wks to receive rebate on the Extended service plan that I purchased at the time of the sale.
The Ford/Lincoln Dealer dealership:Best Ford Located in Nashua NH has misled me and has been quite unhelpful and deceptive in dealing with the author of this complaint...
An otherwise positive buying experiance has been degraded to a poor service experiance from the dealership...shame on Ford Motor Company.
I just got off the phone with ESP person. First she tells me that the 125, 000 miles is from date of purchase...so it's not a true 125, 000 mile warranty. Because the first 36, 000 is the manufacturers warranty. Then she tries to sell me the highest gold or whatever it's called warranty for $3100...then she tells me that if I don't buy it by October 2nd ford increases the price of the warranty's every year on that date...man i'm glad I read all of these complaints...I have a 2013 Escape and i'll just take my chances and pay out of pocket expenses on it after the warranty runs out.
My experience with Ford ESP has been entirely positive. No complaints here.
I filled several online loan application and soon got contacted by a representative of Stamford Credit Network who told me that I have been approved for a $3000 loan. All I needed to do in order to get that loan money transferred to my account was to pay $500 to them which would cover insurance and administration fee. It looked alright so I paid the money and ever since that nobody contacted me anymore.
Yeah I thought that Montel Williams was working for a legit company, But I see that he is only in it for the money as well as Money Mutual. I had only taken out only 700. dollars and was in agreement for paying every month and was taken for a ride. The first payment of 210. dollars was taken out of my account in two weeks and then 20. dollars. then on a consecutive every two weeks 210. and even 35. dollar when ever they felt like it. I called the BBB and was told to close out my account, they had kept taking money even after they got it all back. Now I am going to court to pay an outstanding amount of 1500. dollars and court cost of another 1500. dollars. So yes it is not to help it is to hurt those that don't know about the legal loan sharks that really do bite your head off.
Child boo you were living above your means...this had nothing to do with Chad. You are ugly, your credit is ugly, and now you are begging for people to work with you. Laugh out loud next time Iive within your means. Bye Felicia!
im dealing with a Ford ESP issue on my 6.0 powerstroke that is ridiculous. Truck has been at local dealer for 12 days they submitted to ESP for head gaskets (common problem) ESP denied claim for a TSB that states EGR Cooler caused head gaskets to blow. Wrong, Wrong I replaced my oil cooler and egr cooler 3 months ago as preventative maintenance truck was fine prior to that and fine after. i started loosing coolant 2 weeks ago hens the dealer visit. The TSB is a blanket statement giving them an out for all head gasket issues. I'm at a loss as to what to do next?
I bought a used Volvo that was turned in on lease to a Ford dealer in E.Hartford, CT. I made the mistake of spending 1800 on an 100k mile ESP Premium warranty. Well just before the warranty was up every gasket in the engine blew and leaked at the same time. Took it to Volvo dealer (Gallow in Worcester MA - very good treatment there) but when they called about the warranty was told it didn't exist! Fortunately I had all the original paperwork so began my saga. It was actually in the system but was expired years ago. I think the dealer intentionally put it in wrong and pocketed the difference. Regardless it took me months to get it re-instated and it took me calling Ford ESP every two days for 6 weeks to get it re-instated and it was hell. Finally put in my claim and after all that they only paid about 80% of my claim with no explanation but they win..I just don't have it in me to fight for the 200 bucks. I will never buy a Ford or an extended warranty due to this experience. Sure maybe they make money screwing people in the short term but in the long term they loose business because people like me and anyone I can tell will never buy a Ford.
You people are all idiots! Learn to read what you are purchasing and then understand what is actually wrong with your vehicle before you start whining about what your "extended warranty" is covering!
I, too agree that Ford ESP warranty is a scam! I went to the dealership two or three times about the same problem and the service department said Ford warranty would not fix the issue unless they could duplicate the problem. Amazingly, they couldn't.
Now, 12 days after the warranty has expires I am told tough luck even though it is previously documented.
After 6 Ford vehicles, I will never buy Ford again!
Ford / ESP is a joke ! My 2008 F 350 Diesel has blown it's second Hi Pressure Pump. They declined the claim saying that the fuel was contaminated with water. $6, 000.00 later I have to go buy some Diesel fuel, anyone know where you can buy Diesel fuel with no water in it? I didn't think so. Oh wait a minute, there is a water separator system engineered for our Diesel Trucks.
Then why did water get to parts that blow up if water gets in them?!
I wonder if Chevy or Dodge have the same ugly policies that are written in a way that the consumer can't win!
VERY UGLY FORD you win I thought I could trust you. I was wrong!
