Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za rcs account closure

On Saturday the 30 June 2018, I went to Soshanguve Crossing Game store to inquire about my outstanding balance so that I can settle it and close it.

I was given the receipt with the outstanding amount as per my request and I immediately did a payment of the outstanding balance. Thereafter, we immediately contacted your customer service to proceed with the closure of the account. I was told that the account will be closed in due cause and I will get an email during the week to confirm the closure.

To my surprise, the email I got was not
to confirm the closure of the account but the reminder that my account is still active.
I just need to close my account. If there's credit owed to me, you have my details.

We recently bought rotten eggs at game soshanguve crossing, if it's not that the roof is constantly leaking when it rains, now it's the trolleys are not working.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za game extended warranty complaint kic fridge

To whom it may concern would like to inform you of my disappointment of the service received from the extended warranty fridge repairs. They came out a couple of months ago to repair the faults on my fridge (compressor and door seals) there after to find that the top door seal they installed did not fit and was loose at th bottom of the fridge door causing my fridge not to seal properly and ice up. They came out this morning 19/6 to rectify the problem with the door seal upon coming home and checking it we found that the seal is now ripped as can be seen on photos. This is unacceptable and I would be expecting a brand new seal to be propely fitted on the door asap as this is causing damage to my fridge. Jessica [protected]

Good day, I purchase a Defy 42l Convection Microwave St DM 0356 on the 23/4/2019. Was happy with my purchase until the oven started making a very loud noise. On 12/8/2019 if took it back to the store, and was advised that it will only be repaired under the extended warranty, as the purchase warranty expired. I accepted that it will be sorted. First Assmt/Repair [protected], was received on my cellphone. On 23/09/2021 I was advised that I can come and collect the microwave. When I collected the microwave I did noticed that the door need to be pulled up to close properly, and that the front right leg was damaged, and the microwave was no longer standing level. Used it for a while, and then the noise started to come back again. I took it back to Game 7/1/2022 ref: [protected], and was informed via sms on the 24th January to come and collect it, and was advised by the lady at the service counter that it is still not fixed, as the same noise occurs. On the 1st Feb 2022 I received via sms two new notifications that the machine was sent for repairs. ref : [protected] and [protected], and also received a sms on the same day to collect. This is really unacceptable. I phone the Mutual & Fedral number [protected] and was transferred to Alex who assisted me with reference number 1195850. Alex logged the query today on my behalf, and advised me that I will receive feedback. Alex also mentioned that the Store was supposed to resolve this matter.

It occurred on: 12/08/2021

This meant that I am extremely frustrated, as this was not a cheap purchase, and the service on the extended warranty is substandard. I am now struggling without the use of my microwave.

I would appreciate if Game can refund me, or replace the appliance.

I look forward to your prompt response on this matt er. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this email address.

Yours faithfully,

Magda Visser

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za call back voucher on telefunken 55" tv

Good day

I am sending this to express my dissatisfaction of your services;

I went to Game Baywest Mall, P.E. on the 28/05/2018 to buy a Telefunken 55" tv that was on special for R4999.00. At the time they didn't have any in stock so I received a call back voucher, which then at the Time the salesman said they would receive the stock the next week (01/06/2018), which they didn't.

From that time I have been following up with the store manager Gordan, which then said he has no idea when the stock will arrive, which for me was shocking. Can nobody have an even slight indication as to when are the trucks coming or even make a phone call to the Buyer in Durban to see if he had ordered it and when can they expect the stock.

So anyways, I made a couple of calls in between to see if they had any answers for me. Gordan phone me on the 08/06/2018 explaining that the stock will be here next week, but he had a Sinotec 55" also on special for R6500.00 and explained to me that is has a better quality and a longer warranty. Which I then said no I will wait for the Telefunken stock which he said will be coming the following week. So on the 15/06/2018 when I didn't receive a call back message from Game so I gave Gordan a call, then I heard the stock didn't arrive. I was very disappointed.

On Monday, 18/06/2018 a received a message from Game saying that the stock has arrived, I was very glad and arranged for my brother in law to meet us at Game because they drive a Colt LDV for the transport of the TV. I went to the electronics department where I met a lady at a desk and I said, I received my call back message, she advised the salesman which asked me to show the message to him, after I did showed him the message he said he will go to the back to go and have a look at the Truck to see if it has arrived………..he came back to me and said no stock has arrived…..I was shocked! He said they clearly had send a wrong message to the customers. What about our petrol and waste of time?

I went to see the manager which he apologised, but unfortunately I am at this stage that I don't know what to do anymore. Further to this, I also phoned for a DSTV Wi-Fi yesterday morning, to ask if they have it in stock and the lady said yes after she checked the aisles. So when we asked them about that, they also didn't receive their stock. We were already out of the shop when the salesman ran after us to say no the DSTV Wi-Fi stock just arrived, we just said don't even bother.

I need to know when is the stock of the Telefunken coming because I really think this is unproffesional service from Game Baywest Mall.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za poor poor service!!!

I went to Game, Waterfall Mall, Rustenburg, North West Province on Monday, 18 June 2018 to buy some bar chairs (I wax looking for 6 chairs). First of all I there was no one to assist - every one was talking to each other. I then saw a man waiting his turn to talk to his colleagues. I then wave at him to come and assist me and only after the third wave he came to assist me. I ask him for a price (there were no prices on the chairs at all!) of a specific bar chair and he went and, I pressume, scan the price and came back to me with a price. I then ask him for some prices of another two bar chairs - he then said it is not his department. I asked him where is the person of the department and he said to me that "he is on tea time" and I said to him if one person is on tea I am sure there must be some one else to assist customers. He walked away - as he walked away I said to him to "please do not run away" - he did not listen to me and in any event walked away. I waited for approximately 5 minutes whereafter I left my trolley (with a bread and bread tin in it) and proceeded to exit the store. On my way out the man passed me and I just throw my arms in the air. This is not the first time I experienced bad service at this specific Game store. Every time I enter Game, I do it with a positive mindset but the staff is just not willing to assist. I had to buy bar chairs at R400 each at another store (not Game) and could only afford 2! I am really dissatisfied withvthe service of Game, Waterfall Mall. Can management please do something about the problem and make sure that there is staff to assist and not chatting to each other! Please revert. Rita Lourens (cell: [protected] / e-mail: [protected]@gmail.com)

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za huawei p8 lite phone

I bought the phone on the 27/02/2017 but it didn't last for a year. It started multifunctioning. It increases or decreases the size of letters when typing, freezing, working half screen and network connecting was a huge problem. I took back the phone for services but it didn't worth it because they didn't fix it but broke it worse. They called me letting me to come fetch my phone and when I got there, I was told that my phone wasn't fixed but why I don't know. I was also told to take my phone to vodacare myself by game people and I saw that as waist of time because the phone is no longer under guarantee and its from bad to worse since now it talks when you try to switch it on and it ends there, i waisted lot of money because i had to put a phone worth R2900 in the house not working for how long.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za hoover wet and dry vacuum cleaner

I purchased a Hoover cleaner on 22-02-2017 from Game store Alberton.
On 27-07-2017 I returned it to Game because the motor had a burning smell coming from it. (Game repair slip 0804/[protected])
When I received it back from Game, when it was been used there was still a burning smell coming from it and I was hoping it would go away which it did not.
On 10-05-2018 I returned it for a second time to Game for the same burning smell
(Game repair slip 0804/[protected]).
2 weeks ago I went to Game to find out if it had been repaired, but 2 ladies informed me it was not back and told me it was on a truck for delivery back to Game and they would contact me when they receive it.
On 31-05-2018 I spoke to Lebohang at Game Alberton and he told me it was still at the repairer, he tried to contact the repairer but they kept on cutting off.
I then spoke to store manager Andre who tried to be helpful but was unsuccessful.
Today 06-06-2018 I phoned Andre and he transferred me to Lebohang who told me it was not back yet and he sent the repairer an e/mail yesterday.
What do I do now?

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za beat any price policy

Makro and Game both sell the same stainless steel braai called Ketla JB650. Game sells it for R699 and Makro for R399. I waited Sooo long to be assisted, and ended up leaving the shop without being assisted. The staff kept passing the buck and eventually the manager said that they needed to fone Makro to confirm whether they have stock before they can look at changing the price. I showed them the price on the Makro catalogue and that there is still stock but it was not enough. The manager told another staff to phone Makro. I left and told them I will come back later. When I came back later they still hadn't called Makro. So I decided to leave. Game is making excuses not to honour their "we beat any price " policy. Totally disgusted in lack of customer service at game kimberley! The manager didn't even bother to contact me.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za bad service received from staff

On the 30th of may 2018 after a long day at work I visited your game store at pietermaritzburg cbd on commercial rd.
I went on the sale table and picked out a couple of toys that were on sale for my niece as her birthday is coming up, went to the till to make payment, as the items were being rung up one of them came up in question as it was priced r5, the cashier called a lady (assuming she's the supervisor) to come and have a look. The lady's name was lungile, she is fair in complexion and had a long braided wig, the lady took the toy and went back to the store with it to verify the correct price, as I was assuming at the time, normal. After a few minutes she came back with the same toy but it was now priced r50, lungile advised that the correct price for the toy is r50 and not r5. I asked her where she had taken the toy that I had picked out that was labeled r5, she advised that she had removed that incorrect sticker and put on the correct one which was r50. I then advised her how I took that sale toy from that table, it was for r5 and I still want the same toy and pay r5 for it as I had decided upon picking it up from the table, she started having attitude and said that can not happen, the toy is r50 and will be rung up at r50, I advised i'd like to speak to her superior, she then proceeded to call an indian lady with short hair, the lady tried to say the same thing but I maintained that I want to pay the price I saw, the 2 ladies then went to the side and spoke there and I was left empty and un-informed at the til for a good while until I decided to go to them and asked what was going on. Lungile said I "must just wait for them, they're not working on my time, they're still discussing store matters". I really got confused because according to me the only matter being discussed here was my matter and there was nothing private really that had to be discussed on the side and me being left hanging at the till. I then told these ladies I am tired of waiting on them I want to see the store manager, they called a man who didn't introduce himself, he just came to tell me that what i'm asking for is impossible and cannot be done, during our conversation with him and the 2 other ladies it was clear that he was trying to persuade lungile into lying and just totally deny that the first toy I brought to the till was ever labeled as r5 and started incinting that I might have seen the price wrong. After blatantly asking him not to take me for a fool and that he must stop trying to persuade his staff to lie he just disappeared from the scene.

First of all when a customer buys an item the decision is largely driven by the price
Secondly if it was an error in pricing, it was not my fault, it was the staff doing the labelling that was in error, the store and the managers had to admit and recognise that, I asked several times for us all to first acknowledge where the error is here, however I was just dismissed from acknowledging this factor.
Thirdly that rude woman lungile had no right to take my r5 labelled sale item and go re-label it r50, she was now denying me the product I had taken and was also getting rid of my r5.00 evidence as the manager now was trying to dismiss that the item was ever r5 since there was no r5 label anymore.
Lastly, more than anything I was utterly disgusted by the manner in which they handled this whole matter, I was not treated like a customer, instead I was being bullied into accepting a price I did not plan paying, not that the r45 was material, no. R45 is actually immaterial, it is just the manner in which they handled this whole matter that had me fuming.

After they had all left us alone hanging with the cashier, this lungile came and changed the price on the computer without even the courtesy of informing me, as a customer what their decision was and left again, since they all abandoned me saying what i'm asking for can't be done. As I was fuming at this point I called her and asked why I wasn't being informed of their decision, she just started shouting and walked away from me. What the hell?! That lungile character needs a good smack in my opinion.

The staff critically needs training on how to deal and handle customers, there also has to be an implementation of consequence management, I cant receive such disgusting treatment and nothing be done about it, and still be expected to walk into game ever again and shop..

I have purchased an Asus laptop, around January 2018 and I've been experiencing problems with the Laptop from then and the most painful thing is that it makes me not to easily do my school work. I would really appreciate your response as to how best can this be resolved, And to be honest I'm very much disappointed in the service I have received as it has inconvenienced me and I was not able to take back the Laptop as soon as I realised as I was not around Gauteng (where the product was brought)

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za defy microwave

Good day

I visited the Game Store in Galleria in December regarding a microwave I have purchased at the store in 2016.
My receipt was misplaced but was reassured that a query can be submitted to have one printed.
After waiting until the end of January where I had to call to follow up, I was informed my query had been submitted but no response.
After a follow up was done, I was informed that the query could not be resolved and the reason was because data is not available.

I've been sitting with a broken microwave for nearly 5 months now.
Please can I get assistance with regards to the receipt printed so I can return the microwave as it is still within warranty which will soon expire.
Really not happy with the turnaround times and response.

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za poor service

On Sunday, 15 April, my mother-in-law was smashed and grabbed and her cell phone stolen. My daughter then went to Tyger Valley GAME to buy a new phone and her sim stopped sim card of MTN was inserted, into the Hisense. When she took the phone home there was no way to obtain any service of network connection. On Monday and Tuesday we went to MTN, Malmesbury who also could not assist. On Wednesday I phoned Remi at Tyger Valley and requested that I be refunded at Somerset Mall GAME (I live in Strand) in order to purchase another phone. He said it should be done since the COA/within 7 day policy for returns is on place. Now the ordeal for me started when I went to Somerset Mall GAME. I went to the Cell phone Dept and the assistants let me wait for nearly 45 minutes in trying to convince met that there was no open box return policy. The assistant even phoned Remi and although he confirmed the policy, she still denied it. Then I requested to talk to the Sales Manager, a Mr Peter Bosman. He supported the assistants and told me they will not assist me with replacing the phone. He was rude and just turned around and returned to his Office. I then was forced to go back to Tyger Valley the next morning during sick leave. Lots of waste time, money and energy for me who is a manager in the Department of Health. Remi really understands the policies as confirmed by Mr Prince, the manager there. Eventually Remi tested the phone and quickly exchanged it for another one. He was friendly and very helpful. I trust steps will be taken against Mr Bosman and his colleagues at the Cell Phone Dept of GAME, Somerset Mall. I also request you to copy in Somerset Mall Management. I request feedback from you as well as Somerset Mall Management. They will lose customers and it is a poor reflection on their reputation

Game Stores South Africa / Game.co.za samsung twin tub washing machine has a manufacturer fault, they refuse to exchange it

Bought the machine cash.
Bought on Thursday 12 April 2018 16:00.
I had my own transport since it was already late.
When i arrived home, i removed the packaging to test whether the machine works or not and i discovered that only the spinner(dryer) works but the washer doesn't work. So i called Game on Friday and reported the matter and they just brushed it off saying they will send someone to come fix it and i asked why must it be fixed because its been less that 7 days, that i want them to exchange it for a new working one but they are being rude and sending me from pillar to post. i'm sick of it. i want a new machine or a refund their service is horrible. What am i supposed to do with a machine that doesn't work. I went to drop off the machine in the shop yesterday(Tuesday 17/04/2018) but they refused to take it back saying it is now a second hand product they wont take it back or even replace it. The manager was so rude. I am now missing work because of their inconvenience.
