ge top load 4.2 cu ft washer gtw460asjww/cheap, unstable suspension drum allows for unethical mobility/noise
Purchased product 8/03/2017. 1st Wk: Washed towels on regular colour load as w/ 10 yr. Old GE washer; machine made extreme noise & violently walked across floor. Complained to Sales dept @ local hardware, where purchased, whom asked if it had "towel" setting & suggested I use that. 2nd Wk: Washed towels on "towel" setting; all went well. 4th Wk: Attempted to rinse/drain/spin jeans on only available setting - 2nd rinse & drain/spin; machine emitted loud noise & violent mobility issues. Called hardware store to report/complain. Said they'd send repairman out (9/05/17) to put other feet on machine to deter ambulatory action.
Repairman explained GE + other manufacturers, save Speed Queen, use the suspension drum w/ NO bottom & only 4 corner bolts to secure it. Hence, cheaper construction in the name of technical advancement. Putting new feet on is NOT going to stop the reason why the drum violently navigates, which in my opinion is NOT healthy structurally. No wonder I paid no more than I had for my 10 yr. old machine - cheaper construction = no price increase. Am told GE is aware of the issue, but chooses to NOT put other feet on machine, as other companies do, to deter the issue.
Since this event occurred w/ the 2nd rinse+drain/spin cycle, but not when on towels, I surmise the idiot programmer doesn't have bulk, jeans, or towel electronic recognition in the 2nd rinse+drain/spin cycle option. Hence, violent activity.
I enquired w/ hardware store about exchanging GE for Speed Queen. They're only willing to reimburse 1 mo. old machine as "used" - less $100 or total reimbursement of $350.00 from my $464.00 w/o tax price = no financial loss to them. In that case, GE OWES ME THE OTHER $100-$150.00 for a product that is definitely inferior to my 10 yr. old machine & which I am DISSATISFIED w/.
The sales manager's attempt to justify tech changes, aka cheaper construction, as a need to keep up w/ foreign trade is a poor excuse. I've NOT seen GE filing for bankruptcy. Therefore, GE can afford to offer sturdier built or better electronically engineered washers for the same or reasonable price increases. Did I fail to mention the cheaper/thinner outer metal construction? And yes sales rep & GE, my 10 yr. old machine walked, but not this frequently or as violently as the new machine does. All I had to do was manually distribute the contents evenly in the drum.
In spite of the sales manager's comment re/ product research prior to purchase as being too time consuming, perhaps that will be of necessity to attempt avoiding such issues. Another wise endeavour would be for me to actually speak w/ a repairman - the insider!
Providing Speed Queen is still manufacturing a sturdy built washer, w/ a 5 yr. warranty & life expectancy of 15-20 yrs. Vs. GE's lousy 1 yr. warranty & 10-12 yr. longevity, my next washer will be a Speed Queen thanks to this negative experience.
By the by, this is the 2nd inferior GE appliance we've encountered in 1 yr's time, the 1st one being a microwave that proved faulty w/in several mos. of purchase. At least GE honoured that mistake & reimbursed us for another.

monogram oven
We have a 6 burner plus grill monogram stove. The grill randomly ignites causing the surface to become extraordinarily hot — and creating a dangerous condition for us and our children. More than once we have come home from vacation and have found the grill on when I distinctly checked to insure it was off before I left. This is a fire hazard as well.
We have attempted to get it fixed through a reputable appliance repair service — they replaced a relay but that did not fix it — I need to get this corrected asap — before there is injury to life and limb
ge refrigerator, model pshs9p62bcss serial #hv452143
I purchased this refrigerator in 2011, and after a year, the plastic auger in the icemaker cracked. The customer service department sent me the icemaker assembly free of charge.
In June of this year (2017), the auger cracked again. I looked online to see if I was just unlucky or if other people have had this problem. I discovered that making the auger out of plastic is a design flaw and that other consumers that have GE refrigerators with the plastic augers have incurred the aggravation and expense of replacing the part.
The customer service rep I spoke with when I called about the cracked auger, said she'd set up a service call. I asked if I'd be responsible for paying for the call and the part. She said no. The day before the tech was suppose to come, he called and told me that a service call wasn't necessary and he'd just order the part and have it sent to me.
About two weeks after I received the part, I received a bill for a service call and the part. I called to complain since I did not have a service call and about the fact that I thought the call (if I'd had one) and the part were not being billed. I was told that I misunderstood and that that there would be charges, but they'd re-issue a bill just for the part. The part was $114.30. I got a bill for $132.06., which means that I was charged too much tax (8.25% tax rate in Texas). The person I spoke with was condescending and told me that the tax rate being charged was correct and wouldn't budge on this. A few days later, I spoke with a supervisor that agreed with me, and eventually I received an email with the new charge. The new bill hasn't come yet.
It is the end of August. I have been upset and disgusted about this since June. The big picture is that this icemaker has a design flaw and the auger will crack again and I'll be out more $$. I think GE should take accountability for this flaw, and if the customer has to have this part, at least charge a lot less for it, or don't charge at all. Novel idea--help out a consumer that unknowingly purchased a refrigerator with a lemon for an icemaker.
new front load washer issues and terrible customer service and support
Purchased GFW450SSKWW, GFD45ESSKWW only to have issues with washers pump in the first day of use. The over bearing Humming noise that drowns out the washing machine and his heard throughout a very large home is unacceptable. FYI, I am an Engineer and if I say there is a problem then there is a problem or potential failure looming. I called for service the very first day only to get an appointment six days later coupled with six unsolicited e-mails and calls from customer service. The icing on the cake was a call from service on Friday at five p.m. cancelling my appointment from a woman named Amanda. She was rude, condescending and lacking any form of professionalism so after I hung up, I immediately went back to Home Depot were we purchased these two GE appliances and returned them and subsequently bought two new LG front loaders this evening. There is no excuse for the poor service and support we have had over the course of four days, and I will never purchase another GE product again!
ge hot range
Dear Sir: The issue started with my range, the gas burner would blow out and the entire base would start smoking from under neath. This is a gas burner so i am very concerned with this. We had just past our 12 month warranty with the builder. So we contacted GE directly, they sent a technician and he replaced some part, the stove still continued to do the same thing, we contacted GE again but they said it was only good for 30 days, so we would have to pay another service charge. We paid them $262.00 this stove is just over a year old. Then I understand that they part is good for 90 days, i am not sure if the part is the concern or if the technician did not know what was causing this problem. This is gas stove I am very concerned about this possibly have something really bad happen like blowing up. I do not think I should have to pay for another visit. Their original visit was June 14, 2017, we called back in late July I think. My concern is maybe I have a defective top? but I am going round and round trying to get this fixed whos to say they come and its not corrected again? I just keep paying over $200 each time. I could see if this was an older stove but its really just over a year old.
Model number PGP976SET4SS Serial Number HF712309 the installation date of the stove top was 5/20/2016 . The invoice number is 455639 Technician number is [protected] invoice date for service charge 6/14/2017.
I appreciate any help you can provide

Shame on you general electric‼️
Four years?! That's what I have gotten out of this $1500 refrigerator purchase! And that's after repeated failures... Starting with the 'plastic' ice cube crusher when it was 12 months old! And then the water dispenser before it was even 24 months old! Now the entire unit has shut down at 4 years! You should be ashamed of the garbage you sell to us hard working american people!
For shame ge ‼️ for shame!
I am not even speaking on how poorly engineered this model was that all the freezer shelves fell on top of each other once food was actually placed on said shelves! What a disgrace! Please make right of this situation. I need a new refrigerator!
Collect a few other forumners and get a good lawyer and go for a class suit! Good luck
stoves
I'm having problems with my oven rusting and it's actually gotten holes in the back of it . I think it's around 6 years old I'm not zactly sure if it's that old or not. It's a self-cleaner I have not used any chemicals in it when I cleaned it I've always use the self-cleaner. And I'm concerned that it's going to catch something on fire. I noticed the first time that I clean the stove the bottom popped up.
salesperson
I am very upset about a situation with the store I purchased my appliance from. I spent almost 7, 000 on GE appliance, the microwave didn't fit so the workers took it back. When i went to get something in place of it the store owner said that they didn't have it and it was never returned! He said we would have to pay for 50% of it because it wasn't returned! We gave it to the installers ..why would we keep it if it didn't fit?
My husband and I were both here when they took the microwave. Why in the world would we keep something that didn't fit and also steal a 400 microwave after we spent 7, 000 on the appliances!
We are very upset and may just return all appliance so that we can be treated with some respect.
We have also contacted the police and if this situation is not resolved we will file a complaint again GE and the sales person.
repair service
I requested a repair for my oven. The repair was scheduled for 8am - 12pm today August 15th. I called at 11:30am to request an update because I hadn't heard anything. I was told that there was an hour delay and my be tech should arrive at 1ish. At 2pm I had to call again for an update regarding the tech and his arrival. I was told that GE needed to reschedule. At no time was their any communication and no consideration for the customer waiting. I had to take a day off for nothing and even after the 1st call there was no attempt by GE to communicate what was happening.
ge dishwasher
Unit was leaking and door not latching properly. service was scheduled in May 2017. A no show repair person on first week. (overbooked, not notified. Came a week later, moved unit a little, ran it and said it was fine. Same issue a couple of months later. Same issue with A1 Appliance service center. scheduled, but did not come. GE was to find another repair person and reschedule. The GE person said it was under warranty, but later said service was not performed because out of warranty. I had proof that it was indeed under warranty.
GE personnel pushed me to take an extended warranty. Why in the world would I do that when you cant even get service with the unit is under warranty.
ge washing machine
A washing machine that my husband purchased for his mother in December 2016, is already in need of repairs. My mother in law lives in a small Indiana town. The machine was purchased at a local Sears store. She has been told that a repair man will need to be brought in from Chicago to fix it. She waited all day for the repair man, she is 88 and home all day. Apparently the man knocked once and left a note. Again she is 88, it might take her a few minutes to get to the door! My current machine is 19 years old ! I have never had a repair. She has been without a working machine now for 3 months! It's ridiculous that the machine hasn't been replaced or repaired yet. What brand of machine do you think I will purchase next?
Although I have a bad case of buyer's remorse, I have to say; where does GE get off making and selling such a garbage product. After doing my research for a top loading washing machine with the largest tub and agitator, it was between the GE and Maytag. So I ask myself, why did I not go with the Maytag. Anyway, that's my problem. I purchased the GTW485ASJ3WS model. What a disappointment and piece of garbage. I have no complaints about the tub size, which I wanted, or the new functionality of the machine, however when it goes through some cycles especially the final spin; it sounds as though I live next to an airport. If the machine goes off balance just a little bit; well that's another added attraction. It is a very, very noisy machine, I also suspect that it will not last very long. When it breaks down, I will be replacing the machine with the Maytag or Whirlpool (which I had for 16 years), was loud, but it was old. The kicker is that I purchased the lower model for my shore home within the same month, and that machine is fine. This model is a complete disaster. Can't wait until it breaks down to get it out of here.
repair of washing machine with extended warranty
About 6 weeks ago I called for a service call. My appointment was scheduled for the next week and I took the time off from work. That morning I was called and told the repair person was ill and the appointment was scheduled for a week later. The repair person came the next Friday at the end of the four hour window, made a repair but didn't fully test the machine in his rush to have his lunch. The machine was still not functioning correctly. I called the next week for another appointment which was scheduled for the next week where I had to take off work once again. The repair man came and said he had to order parts that would take approximately 2 weeks to arrive and when asked admitted the original service call was mis diagnosed. When 2 packages arrived I called and made an appointment for today (8/11).
I received an automated call on 8/8 saying my appointment was on 8/9. I called the service protection company immediately who confirmed my appointment was for 8/11. Then I called GE service directly. I was told there would not be a service call on 8/9 as another part (keypad) had been ordered and would not be delivered until 8/11 or 8/12. My appointment was then changed to Monday 8/14. Of course the repair person still arrived on 8/9 when no one was home and before the keypad package arrived later that day. GE service would not connect me to a supervisor on the phone in the late afternoon of 9/9 to try and solve this confusion. I then called the appliance store where I purchased the machine and asked for their help. They called GE service for me and they were also confused about what was going on. John at Village Appliance finally confirmed with GE that my appointment with service is now 8/14 between 8 and 12. Once again work will be missed My incident number is [protected]. I am appalled at the treatment and the length of time this process is taking. I will never purchase another GE Appliance and will file consumer related complaints if this is not resolved on 8/14.

4 month nightmare: 7 visits, bought new unit, still no good solution
Owner: Maya Tyler,
Home Delivery Serivces: Order Number W764048767
GE Appliances Service : Orig Confirmation Number [protected]
Desirable Resolution: Reimbursement for new washer unit, install/removal and plumber fees.
GE Appliances Service VISIT 1:
April 29, 2017 GE is called for a washer that will not agitate. Issue is diagnosed as a bad transmission. Parts are ordered. Diagnostic & Labor: $149.95
GE Appliances Service VISIT 2:
May 10, 2017 GE replaces and installs washer transmission. Parts and Labor fees: $509.42 + $104.94.
GE Appliances Service VISIT 3:
June 25 2017 -Washer stops agitating again and wont drain. GE dispatches service tech June 28. Diagnosis: Perhaps the problem was the drain pump all along. (Waste of transmission money) Washer is manually drained by removing a clamp. If happens again, it is the drain pump.
July 22, 2017 Washer has not been working, will not drain again. Drain pump would cost $200, not including labor, which amounts to about $1000 spent on a 6 year old machine... and a new unit costs about the same. New washer/dryer unit is purchased from GE via Home Depot. (Parts, labor, delivery, removal) $1, 345.28
GE (Home Delivery) VISIT 4:
July 28 Washer/Dryer unit is delivered, but Installers claim there is too much water in the washer to move it. (Obviously, since it wont drain.) They deliver the new unit and leave it in the basement. GE schedules a technician visit for Aug 3.
Aug 3, 2017 GE dispatches a technician (Derrick) who claims he spoke to his team about the issue (has not seen it himself ) texts owner to say he will not come out because he cannot drain the washer without the purchase of a new drain pump. He wants to be paid the labor it costs to install the drain pump. Manually draining is not a "billable action" as it literally takes 30 seconds to do. So the 'best' solution this tech can come up with is to purchase a part for a machine that will be thrown away. Owner refuses, as this is ridiculous. Calls in to GE again. Another GE technician visit is scheduled to at least show up and attempt to drain the water as best as possible.
GE Appliances Service VISIT 5:
Aug 4, 2017 The original technician (Kalil, tech #77) visits to manually drain the pump like he did previously, in 30 seconds, by removing the clamp. Wet dry Vac is used later by owner to try to completely dry out the washer and drain pan. GE dispatches via Home Delivery service, another installer for August 9, 2017.
GE (Home Delivery) VISIT 6:
August 9, 2017 - Installer comes but refuses to install the new unit this time because there is a crack in the drain pan. He recommends a plumber to fix/replace drain pain. Also notes drain pan was originally installed improperly. Still did not remove old washer.
Note: Crack is a hairline in size, is in the side, barely reaching the bottom side of the pan, and did not leak water for the 3 weeks the drain pan was filled with water waiting for the replacement.
GE Home Delivery ticket is escalated to Amanda, Delivery Relations Supervisor. Amanda says get a plumber to fix/replace drain pan. GE will cut a check for parts and labor, whatever the plumber charges, and "discuss further compensation" for the whole ordeal "once a working washer is installed".
The soonest that GE can come out to finally install new and remove old units is in another week, August 16. Amanda also says on "recorded" phone call, that GE will pay the plumber if he can also install the new unit so that owner does not have to wait for GE to come out August 16. Amanda asks that owner call back in with the estimated costs.
Len the Plumber (company) is scheduled to come out and estimate and perform work on Aug 10, 2017.
August 10, 2017 - 10:00 am Plumber asks why didn't GE Home delivery Installer at least remove the old washer so that a plumber could get to the drain pan. Plumber must charge now for the breakdown and removal of old washer unit, drain pain removal and replace, and install of new washer (which was left in the basement, two flights of steps down, by the first installers from Home Delivery) Estimate: $2, 200. This does not include removal of the old unit.
10:30 am Owner calls back to report plumber's estimate. Amanda is not available, another supervisor "Christina" answers that GE now will NOT pay plumber's estimate, and that owner needs to wait (despite plumber waiting for an answer) for Amanda to get into the office (in about 1.5 hours) as she has not arrived yet. Christina has advised that plumber only do the drain pan replace, which means he would have to wait for next Wednesday for GE installers to remove the pan... which, unless they arrived at the same time, would cause the installers to have to leave and come back when the pan is installed. Another visit..number 7.
11:37- Plumber left. Charged $49.00 for estimate.
Current Status: No one to move unit until next week. Plumber fees promised but refused. Amanda has still not arrived to work 2 hours later. Dilemma of how to get the plumber and installers to sync so that installers don't have to come back out yet another day, after the pan is installed, to install the new unit.
Note: Owner is 8 mos pregnant with 2 small children and has had to use quite a bit of patience, laundromat money, and over 8 working hours from her job to resolve this over the last 4 months. Desirable Resolution: At least a Reimbursement for new washer unit, install/removal and any plumber fees.
monogram dishwasher service
Dishwasher broke for 2nd time in 3 months. Repair guy came out and said he needed to order a part and would come back in a week. Cleared my schedule for a 2nd afternoon and while waiting for him to show got a call from dispatch they needed to cancel my appointment because repair guy was sick. Fine. Reschedule for a third visit in one week. Guy showed up and says oops, ordered wrong part. Need another week to reorder part and come back. Scheduled now a FOURTH service and cleared my schedule. While waiting guy showed up knocked once and left. No call letting me know he was on his way (like the first two times someone actuLly showed up). No call to try and reach me (in my backyard!) when he got there and (allegedly) knocked and didn't get an answer. Spent an hour on the phone with dispatch, customer service and a manager. They would not put me back on the schedule today and said the earliest they could reschedule my appointment is a week and a half from now. That date did not work with my schedule and I asked if they could send someone a few days earlier. They refused to accommodate me. I have have to wait TWO more weeks for someone to come out. They even refused to accommodate my request that I be out first on the schedule that day so I don't have to waste another day waiting for them. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will NEVER by another GE product. For the amount of money that was spent updating my kitchen with a complete set of GE appliances (double wall oven, cook top, dishwasher, microwave, wine fridge) I am appalled at the level of customer service I received. I'd rather have a KitchenAid than ever have to deal with their lack of service.
g e dishwasher model # gldt696j00ss
Purchased this dishwasher in 2016. In less than
six months, the bottom door seal started
coming out.
I emailed customer service complaining
how poorly this dishwasher performs and
that the bottom door seal was starting to come
out, after having it less than 6 months.
I did not hear back about my complaint,
but I did receive in the mail, a seal.
Only, the wrong one was sent.
The one sent is for the inside frame of the
dishwasher door.
What I need is the bottom door seal that
goes across the inside bottom of the door.
I spoke with your parts dept. a few minutes ago
and they wanted to charge me $95.00 ( discounted
price) for the bottom door seal.
I think that's totally amsurd. Not only is the
price outrageous, but more important is the
fact that this seal began to come out of the
dishwasher less than six months after having
used it.
I would like for GE to send me this part for
no charge. I would feel differently if I had
had this dishwasher for 5 years when this
happened, but 6 months, please that doesn't
say a lot for your products!
The serial number is TF 800070C

Replaced an old GE model that was around 30 years old. The old unit had knobs that turned. Had it serviced once in 30 years. Bought a new 2014 model in 2015 from Home Depot, it was on discount as it was last years model.
14 months later it stopped working. completely. Call GE service, delat with an awful experience that took multiple visitis, multiple repair guys, multiple wrong parts and finally $389 later, the unit was repaired. (entire electrical panel wen bad) 11 months later, exact same issue. No warranty, no anything except GE service asking $100 bucks to just show up and diagnose. No Thanks. Not going through that again and I WiLL NEVER BUY A GE APPLIANCE again. NEVER. BTE, for those of you that haven't paid attention. GE actually sold GE appliance around 10 years ago. Since then the quality has dropped precipitously.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of all GE appliances.

I believe this washer is less than 4 years old. It was purchased for my mother who is now 87 years old.
This was an added expense not needed living alone on social security. i never thought we would have to purchase her another in her life time.
The anxiety of her routine disrupted and added expense landed her in the hospital.
The pictues below show how inside the agitator rotted and rusted.

purchased a ge washer machine with no agitator in july 2016, 1 yr to almost the date it stop wrking. called morris county appliance rep. they came on 7/24. tech online at GE stated needed new contrl board. since i had a pc contract had to wait till 7/31 for GE to approved than another wk for part to be delivered, which i'm still waiting on. This time frame is unacceptable to any consumer. Wasn't even notified by Morris Cnty App. of this time frame. Consumer should have the option to expedite part on their expense. this mess started on 7/24, it's 8/2/2017 and now we're still waiting for part. I paid for a 10yr contract. Everytime I would email/spk to someone in pc richards or repair com. i have gotten differant stories & vm which i still have all of them. this going thru a 3rd party & jumping oops to get a 1yr appliance repaired is unstatisfactory. I am waiting for this mess to be repaired so I can put my final Customer Complaint with the BBB.
8/7/2017...I am satisfy with GE now. they as in GE Service Division went beyond customer service to rectify my issue with the washing machine. I can't thank them enough. KUDOS to GE but I still do not care for their 3rd party Morris County Repair Dept. THANK YOU GE

ge washer
I purchased a GE washer from Lowes in February 2017. I had not had the washer for 6 months before it started to stall and not cycle properly. I kept hearing a ticking sound. I did not purchase the warranty from Lowes because I thought the manufacturers warranty for 1 year should have been okay. Boy was I wrong!. I reported the problem to Lowes who pushed me over to GE. GE told me since it was still under the manufacturers warranty
I had to call their contracted service provider to make the necessary repairs. The repair contractor is Schuenemann Electric located at 26949 Center Ridge Rd. in Westlake, Ohio. This repair company is not consumer friendly at all. I had to take 2 days off work because they could not repair the washer and the parts had to be ordered from GE directly, then the parts had to be mailed to my home instead of repair shop. The repair company does not work on SATURDAY AND THEY WILL NOT ACCOMODATE THE CUSTOMER PERIOD. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER GE APPLIANCE AND WILL ENCOURAGE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO FOLLOW SUIT. The matter has not been resolved to date. I have lost more money waiting at home for the repairs to be done than the washer actually costs.
Before I purchased this piece of JUNK I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted 20 years before it failed. My deepest regret is that I did not purchase another Whirlpool washer. The only reason I purchased t he GE in the first place was because the salesman said it was considered a hybrid washer because it could accommodate HE detergent or powdered detergent.
