me nor my friends will ever shop at khols again and I will be warning all canadians
All Canadians beware of Kohls! We live north of the border and frequently, a large group of us head south for 2.5 hours to shop. In August, I was badgered into getting a credit card to save on my purchase. The purchase was for less than 40 dollars. When I received the bill, I called Kohls to pay for my purchase with another credit card or debit and was denied. I was told I would have to pay at the store or purchase an international money order. I was told that it was now 50 dollars because of the late fee. By the time I had purchased the money order, I was told another late fee of 5 dollars had been added. Now, I owed 55 dollars.
So, I put the money order and a 5 dollar American bill in the envelope and mailed it in. I was not going to purchase another money order as they are 3 dollars each. The store had no problem getting the unusual payment BUT they told me I was late again and now owed another 52 dollars in late fees! What the hell? I have talked to the billing department and they tell me I still 52 dollars even though I paid 55 dollars on a 40 dollar purchase! All told, my 40 dollar purchase was to be 107 dollars! Are you kidding me? This all took place in the span of 4 months!
My wife got a toaster as a gift at Kohl’s. When i plugged it in for the first time, it popped and asmall flame shot out of one of the toaster slots. We returned it and the returns dept had us get another one off the shelf of the same brand. We plugged it in to see if it was going to work. The one toasterslotn wont stay dowwn plus the powwer light dont stay on.Atthis point im getting mote disgusted with the garbage this country imports from china. The inspection sticker is on this appliance indicating it passed inspection.
Obviously the inspector was taking a nap that day.I think kohls should give away a fire estinguisher for every food network toaster they sell.I would appreciate a response to this e mail. 107 dollars for a 40 dollar purchase! Me nor my friends will EVER shop at Khols again and I will BE warning all Canadians…. DO NOT SHOP AT KOHLS…. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THE STRICT PAYMENT METHODS AND YOU WILL BE PAYING 100% INTEREST IN LATE FEES.! FELLOW CANADIANS….STAY AWAY FROM KOHLS!
horrible treatment
Review for Kohl's - sunset valley in Austin, TX
Is there a way to give -ve stars? I am so pissed to even give 1 star to this place. I had one of the worst experience in this Kohl's recently. If you are shopping or planning to go shop here, you should read this. I bought a sport jacket for my wife and went to the counter. I had a $10 off coupon that I had got by mail recently and I presented that. When the lady (lady1) behind the counter saw that she immediately said to me you cannot use this coupon again. I was confused when I heard that. I have never used a coupon at this kohls or any other kohls before. This was the first time I am using it. So I told her I am using this for the first time. And then she goes "no you have used this before. our security cameras have caught you using this before". WHAT? I was completely appalled and enraged hearing that.
I was uttering words like atrocious and ridiculous and asked how she can make an outrageous claim like that? She was answering as though I was lying, what a repugnant behavior from her, i was still in shock. Now she was making sign language with another counter lady (lady2) and apparently it was lady2 who was feeding her this crap. I demanded an apology from lady1 for her actions and she started rolling her eyes. The lady2 was mostly avoiding looking at me and I think she made a mistake by confusing me with someone else. And by now she started realizing this and turned the other way starting to service other customers. Now, lady1 understood that she has no support from her coworker, but still was unapologetic. I asked her that I see the manager, and manager came and she immediately accepted the coupon and asked lady1 to process the sale. But I still wanted an apology and none of them had any sense of remorse/decency to say sorry. I asked the manager that "are you all calling me a lier?" and if not you have to apologize for this nasty treatment. The manager said we are not calling you a lier but we also cannot call lady1/2 lier either. WHAT? how can both be true? ... at this point lady1 had no nerve to look me in the eye and talk .. and I was standing there hoping that they would express some sort of regret .. but nothing, absolutely nothig from them ! I asked lady1 "well, what do u have to say?" and now she started changing her tone and saying that she was not at fault and it was lady2 that made her say those things. Anyway, I paid and left still feeling utter disgust at the way they treated me ..
Now looking back, I am wondering did I do the right thing? did I let them go off easily? should I have made a scene? can I complain this to police, since this is clear case customer humiliation ... what would you have done when faced with this? My wife says I shoud not have bought the jacket and should not have left until they had apologized. I think buying the jacket was the right thing because I never did anything wrong and I had every right to buy it, but I should have persisted in my demand for apology. I am mostly an easy going guy and I try to forgive/forget and move on, but this still bugs me ..
Kohls should be ashamed for having employees like this. I hope this serves as a warning for others. Do not let any of these counter people to ill treat you and make sure you do the right thing.

Sir,
Yes, you did the right thing, by getting your discount on the purchase, and voicing your shock and amazement, having been the Victim of a trash talking Employee.
And the fact that you were shopping for your wife, well you are a Sweetheart for that!
She is kind to have wanted you to have an apology.
If you still are angry, Search the Corporate Office of Kohl's, send them an email, telling them what happened, or for more impact, copy and paste this Complaint, and let them know how you still feel.
Ask for a reply.
This will usually get a reply.
Good Luck!
kohl's cash card problems with balance
I purchased dinner and lunch plates on 11/8/2011. i got to the register and paid with a $100. american express card, plus $30. Kohls cash, plus a $5.00 kohls card. The plates rang up at regular price and I told the girl that the plates were on sale. She in turn called for someone in houseware to check and that person returned a call saying the plates were not on sale. i bought the plates anyway. On 11/9/2011 i returned a defected plate and picked up another one and noticed the plates were on sale, so i went to customer service with my receipt and told them. they did make the return and the adjustment, however, she claims she had to put the money back on my american express card and said it would take 7 days before the money returned to my american express card.
Ultimately what has happened is that there is not more money on my kohls card, then there was the previous day. I used my american express card to SAVE money at Kohls. So even though i will ultimately get my money back on my american express card, she told me that i can’t use my AE card to pay down my kohls card. So for something that was not my fault, it wound up costing me more. the purpose of me using my gift card, was not to have a higher kohl’s balance. I don’t understand why she just couldn’t deduct the 30% sale from my kohls card. i’m very upset, i am not made of money!
LMAO! Why does Kohl's owe you money? Are you that lame? OMG seriously...
kohls merchandise stolen w/ no purchase protection
At a hotel last weekend our vehicle along with 7 others in the parking lot were broken into. We had merchandise taken that was purchased on our Kohls charge as well as on American Express. While American Express offers a purchase protection plan free of charge and we our card is being credited, Kohls does not. Although the 5 representatives I spoke to at Kohls were all very nice, none could offer any type of compensation other that 30% off a re-purchase, which I often get anyway. When I was asked what I wanted and I suggested a gift card in any amount, I was told they could not do that.
I have been a MVC Kohls customer for 8 years. Because I love Kohls merchandise and prices, I will continue to shop at Kohls, but it will now be much less often. I was in your Kohls store located in Port orange yesterday and was about to make a purchase. I thought gee, I don’t have a charge card so maybe with all the bargains going on I should get one. I have excellent credit and never, never, before in my life have I been denied a credit card. I was shocked and put out. I was holding up a line and everyone around me was aware of my problem. How embarrassing! Why in the world didn’t they just send me to the office to take care of the matter insead of leaving me in that line with everyone getting backed up and getting angry at me for holding up that line.
After I made the purchase and was denied I tried to get answers as to why and no one could help me. I went to the service desk and they let me use their phone with a direct line to the main service department. They couldn’t help me either. I was told someone would contact me within a few days. That is not what I wanted to hear……So I returned my merchandise, told them to forget my application for a charge card and don’t bother me again. I do not like giving out personal data when it is going to sit in some bank station on some computer where who knows what will happen to it. But I do want an answer as to why I was denied and I don’t want to wait for some stupid mail letter.
Kohl's really doesn't have any obligation to replace your stolen merchandise. If they did this sort of thing, people would magically be getting robbed quite often.
Honestly, demanding purchase protection from a store credit card is pretty lame. That's what we carry insurance for, to cover the contents of a break in. I fail to see why Kohl's is in any way responsible for your sad circumstance. One of the selling points of an AMEX, is that kind of protection. With Kohl's, it's the discounts provided for holding their credit card.
Perhaps the AMEX incident did something to your credit rating. You should check this at least 4 times a year. Too many open lines of credit aren't good.
confusing sales signs
Recently shopped at Kohl’s and this is not the first time I have been totally confused..they place there sales signs on racks that are not actually on sale..but below the item and confuses people..I thought one item was on sale when it was actually the item above it..I wasn’t the only shopper..noticed the lady in the next aisle had the same problem..the item that was actually on sale had a bar in which the sign could be put on..but no it was on the item below …don’t know why they do this..but it is time wasting and a pain in the ****, working in retail for 27 years and have never figured out why they can’t get the problem fixed…
I do love the store..but this is very frustrating to say the least..especially when you have spent hours looking and thought you had what you needed…
Had a similar issue with misleading sign
Went to a multi tiered display of mens T-shirts that had a sign attached advertising T-shirts for $10.99. Choose one off the middle in black and at checkout was told that shirt was $18. Went back to display with associate and pointed out the sign on the display. After she looked over the selection of some 8 or 10 different colors of T-Shirts she say the black ones and some of the red ones and some of the green ones weren’t on sale despite being mixed all through the display. At this point I told the associate that this was wrong and appeared to be an attempt to mislead you into paying more than you were lead to believe the T-shirt cost. I then left the store without purchasing anything
people who work there
I love kohl's! I like shopping there alot but last week i went to buy things for my baby. But sadly i found these employ's.One of my children sadly let go of a toy and dropped it on the ground and one of the employee Marisol was very aggressive with my child that he dropped that toy! and he is only one what does he know !When i saw that she yelled i my son she gave me a nasty look so i took my child away ! so then minute later i ask her for a shirt size for my child and i asked her if she can help my find the size i was looking for, and she talked to me with a very high voice very aggressive, and she told me "Why are you asking me all the sizes are out here just look for them" and then she walked away so i didn't bother her again! Then i walked to the part of the store where they sold house things, i again found another employee named Janice and i asked her for the price of a bed, Vera Wang, and she told me that 'She didn't work in this area so i had to go look for another person" So what i did just left everything that i was going to buy and left! i was mad of how she and the other woman answered me.Sadly i don't know why they even hire these kind of people at that store! This store is located at Santa Clara, Ca..

Oh yeah, cause leaving your devil child to play with the toys in the toy department is a GOOD idea. And you wonder why the associate was a little upset? You understand that they have to clean up the mess you let your child make, right? The toys are not meant to be played with, but to be bought. And the toy department is NOT supposed to be a babysitter. I hope that someone calls CPS on you for leaving the kid unattended. How are the associates supposed to know that child belongs to you? What kind of parent leaves the kid (that's not even 2 years old yet) ALONE across the store as they go and shop? Why don't you just leave him in the car with the windows rolled up? That's just as bad.
You're an awful person, and I'm 90% sure you're exaggerating your claims. And even if you're not? You're one of the few people I think deserves the treatment you got.
If you think cameras are going to stop a kidnapping you are wrong. They may assist in catching the kidnapper, but by then your kid will be gone. The cameras are not there to watch your kid, they are there to watch for shoplifters. Even if he isn't kidnapped, what if he gets hurt? The toy department is not a day-care center.
He is not going to get kidnapped, there are a lot of security camera's there. I hardly take him shopping at all. I am 17 and live with my parents. They generally babysit him so I can finish high school. Most of the time while I am shopping or going to a party they are taking care of him. They do not want me to live home alone with him because they say I am not responsible enough. I agree, I have school and homework and every weekend I am invited over to a party. I rarely take him shopping and I know exactly where he is and no one is stupid enough to kidnap him while they have camera's rolling.
That's right, keep leaving your kid unsupervised and one day you'll find him gone. Then you can complain about how the store doesn't care about their customers because they let your kid get kidnapped. You should NEVER let a young child out of your sight in a public place. My goodness lady, don't you watch the news?
I don't leave him alone in the store. I am in the store with him. I never leave the store with him. I only accidentally left him once and I realized five minutes later that it was my turn with my son. I came back quickly and there he was playing with the toys that I set out for him, safe and sound. Also my trips are faster if I leave him in the toy department. Never had to leave him for more than half an hour.
Thank you, my guess is Tasha hates children and works for Kohl's. Most likely her real name is Janice. Well my son does not know better that is why he dropped the toy on the floor. Luckily I happened walk by to check on him right then or she could have kicked him out of the store. Imagine kicking an 18 month old out of the store without a parent. Or perhaps she would have shooken or hurt him. Glad I walked by at that time.
I don't allow my child to run around the store. Whenever we are shopping I leave him in the toy department make sure he has a few toys to keep him busy and then I finish my shopping and come and get him. I make sure he has enough toys to keep him busy. He has once got lost looking for me. That only happened once, and another time a customer thought he was lost, this was at another store and they paged me to collect him. My son does not walk around the store. He quietly plays in the toy area until I come collect him after I am doing my shopping. My son''s father does not like this, his concern is what if he leaves the store. He cannot leave the store because he cannot reach the door handle yet. His concern is what if he follows someone out or leaves through the automatic door. Well if the store had a greeter like Walmart does this would not happen. His other concern is what if someone walks off with him, three are camera's everywhere who would risk walking out with him. Also I know the employees there and they would not let people walk out with him. Besides we have not had any children kidnapped in our neighborhood. I don't abuse my child. The only time I discipline him is when he is crying, then he gets a spanking or has to sit in a dirty diaper until he learns to use his words. He is 18 months old and old enough to use his words. Not that it is any of your business. I would never do more than spank him though. Spanking is not abuse. I would never lose my anger enough to kill him.
defective merchandise
I purchased 2 pair Levi 517's Boot Cut from Kohl's on-line. When we received them, the right leg is 1 1/2" longer than the other. Now, we have to return them to Kohl's which is about 6 miles form our residence and then I can't get the 517's as they don't stock them.
I wrote to Kohl's and Levi's. Kohl's has not responded and Levi's said they would pass the information along to management!
Now this is what I call customer service. I will never purchase another item from Kohl's or Levi's!
If they would have them manufactured here in the United States, maybe we would get better quality. They are charging us an arm and a leg for their products now and for what?
rude
For Christmas i received a beautiful diamond ring from my boyfriend. When i went to go get it sized it was 9pm. The store does not close until 10pm, i work in retail and in my opinion and I'm sure may others, customer comes first. The lady told me she would not have time to size my ring, and called over the phone to complain to a different person that she needed time to close when it was an hour before close? I did not understand it i left crying because of being stressed out by the lady working. I went back on a different day made sure i had a good solid five hours before close, the lady who sized my ring was very sweet and it took her no less than 10 min. Really bothered me that some lady made me leave crying because of how big of a B she was. The ring takes 4-6 weeks to be sized, after waiting over 4 weeks i called back to check in and see how much longer. The lady was rude to me in telling me she could not do that unless she had my receipt in front of her. When i told her i had it in my hand and could get whatever off of it she need, all she said is well i am gunna have to call you back very rudely, then never called back that day/night. I received a voice mail on my phone saying the ring was finished the next day! When i called Kohl's back the lady said "well do you want me to like check in on it or something" she made me feel like i was dumb and took like 10 minutes just to re assure me that it was. I love Kohl's never had a problem before this but I defiantly will not be shopping anywhere that the workers are going to be rude to their customers.

once we walked in the store, they assumed we were bad because my brother looks like a gangster. They were hiding behind the clothes looking at us shop. It was ridiculous. Once we went to the register to go pay, 2 other employees came to help for some stupid reason. We spent over 200$ and one of the girls came looking in our bag, very disrespectful and we asked her if there was a reason there like investigating us and she said she wasn't and then 2 other people come trying to get into the conversation.ive never seen so many rude, disrespectful employees in my life like them. And then a security went to the door to wait for us to get out and we asked her what's the reason ur following us too? And she went off saying she's not and started cursing at us. And once we left she left that spot. IT'S CALLED DISCRIMINATION! And this company needs to be sued! And I'm gonna start off with that. Because I'm a manger at a retail store and I know the rules. And glad I recorded thEm
$60 is the retail value, but nothing at Kohl's ever costs the retail value unless it's BOGO. Your daughter probably only payed $25 for the earrings.
crappy merchandise
Everything I have ever got from here falls apart! I also use to work for them and you really don't save anything. They jack there prices up and then put it on sale so when they tell you you saved so much you think you got a deal! Well you didn't there jewelry there is also very cheap quality. I got a gold chain and the first time I wore it my neck broke out! It wasn't real gold! And the management there is very shady! Ppl will work there and leave cause of management! They go threw ppl like crazy. This is the worse kohls ever! And Chad the store manager is fake!

out of stock item
I ordered five Ninja 1100 blenders on 11/26/11 as gifts at Kohls.com. The items were suppose to deliver on 12/8 - 12/16. They notified my on 12/10/11 that they are out of items. I was very mad because if they told me earlier I would have bought some other retailers. This is totally nit right. I lost my sale price. I had to pay more and pay for shipping cost on top. They just kept apologizing but did not offer me alternatives to solve the problem. Not happy and it was wasting of time.
Obviously you do care if you're using many of !'s, And if you truly don't care, why mention that in the first place?
kohl's doesn't honor their offers
I placed 2 orders with Kohls.com. One was on 11/23/2011 (Order #[protected]) and the second was on 11/25/2011 (Order #[protected]). Bothe orders placed were over $50 so I was due to receive $15 in Kohls cash for each order for a total of $30 in Kohls cash. I did not receive my Kohls cash. On December 6, 2011, I contacted customer service via email to get help with the issue. I received and email back from "Adam P. eService Advocate" stating, that he would resend my certificates, and if I did not receive them to "If you still have not received your Kohl's Cash, please reply to this e-mail so we can resolve this issue" I did not receive so I recontacted, and have since emailed back with "Jason L. eService Advocate" and "Latoya P. eService Advocate" neither of them was willing to honor what Adam P had agreed to and resend my certificates. Both offered to credit an order for the amount, after I placed it. The issue with this, as I explained to Latoya P via email, is that for me to place an order, and then be creditted, I would have to lay out additional monies to do so. In these tight economic times, especially around the holidays, it is tough to scrape out and extra $20, $20 or $40 to hope it will be timely reimbursed, especially when Kohls.com has already not delivered on what Adam P said he would do.
If you have a kohls card they can credit a future purchase even an in store purchase. Call the number on your card
liars
When I fell into financial difficulties as a result of suddenly finding myself unemployed, I asked Kohls about a hardship program that would allow me to make low payments until I was back on my feet without having to close my account. I was approved and was informed that I could resume using my card in Decemeber 2011. I landed a job in Nov and began looking forward to making a few small purchases for Christmas gifts at Kohls. When my card wouldn't go through, the sales rep phoned the toll free number for me. Well, the person she spoke with said that the account had been closed in August! Yet, I never received a letter or email stating anything about it at all! I phoned the toll free number myself and was put on hold for at least 20 minutes before the next person returned and said the same thing! Kohls will LIE to people in order to make certain they get paid back rather than be honest! This is the WORST store to get a store credit card from. I'd rather rely on major cards!
Just for the record, my bills are paid on time. Take your own advice and GROW UP so you can learn not to be judgmental of others. Common sense tells most that when circumstances beyond one's control suddenly strike, they may fall behind on payments whether its something as simple as a credit card or even mortgage!
I'm glad to say that there was a mistake made on my account. As it turns out, Kohl's does understand that many people these days have hit hard times and need to use the hardship program until they've recovered. They were nice enough to correct the problem including other errors that had been made on my account; therefore, I recant every negative statement I made about them.
manager
Yesterday my two year old daughter and I went shopping with my sister. During the time we were at the store I continuously asked my daughter to sit in the cart.I told her she needs to stop trying to climb out because she could fall and get hurt. As my sister and I were getting ready to check out(taking the items we had picked out of the basket and onto the counter). My daughter decides that she wants out of the basket. As my daughter was trying to climb out she fell onto the hard tile floor and hit her head. Resulting with a instant goose egg. I am NOT blaming the store what so ever. Yes, children will get hurt.I feel awful ever having to see my child in pain and knowing that I could have prevented her fall by simply having her by my side(WHAT IF?... I could have done this differently). The sales clerks that were around did their part in calling for medical attention, ice pack, and the store manager. Knowing there was a hurt child the manager arrived slowly(dragging his feet) he then went to the check out lane across from us and started grabbing merchandise, as if he were going to put it away. We asked for an ice pack. So the manager then SLOWLY walked to get an ice pack. By the time he returned with the icepack, my sister had enough time to RUN to Red Robin across the parking lot for a bag of ice and back by the time we received the icepack from the store manager. As soon as we got the ice my sister drove us to the hospital. I thank God that my daughter is fine. In fact, by time we entered the hospital my daughter had stopped crying. It was and is a big annoyance how the store manager, Steven had reacted to the situation. Common sense: it's a big deal when anyone hits their head. The possible results from head trauma are extremely serious.

Yesenia at riverbank store is horrrible the worst attitude everr def dont belong in retail with an attitude like that! Has no patience and blames everything on everyone else veryyyy bad attitude no positive at all makes everyone feel on edge not a very good environment to work under pressure and criticism also discrimination because she plays favortism to the hispanic associates and customers. For example a white woman comes in wants to use a certain coupon ohh no we cant except that hispanic woman comes in ohh we will make an exception this one time. Like really.. her common sense doesnt make sense.. shes clueless! Very disrespectful with a horribleeeeee attitude even yells at associates for tthe most stupidest things just to cover her own ### for being a ###ed ### area manager. Will never shop when this managers on duty shes lame! She says no to everything.not a yes we can attitude.. FIND A NEW JOB YESenia! Store 1077
Steven is a very sweet great manager im sure he thought the situation was handled because he is such a great person very loving sole he couldnt of meant anything by his actions. I too hear the thump by the mens registers in mens and didnt know what in the world was going o.n only that a child was crying histaricly and the mother didnt seem to both at all but too just put the kid back in the cart and continue shopping kid half hanging out the cart. Control your kid or leave the store is exactly what u shouldve done dont blame associates and managers for your stupidity be a parent! Or get a babysitter shopping sure looked more important that day..
You know when my children were your age it was my job as a parent to make sure they sat properly. In one post you say they have no right telling your child how to sit, then you get angry because the cashier who is cashing you out did not watch your child nor did the other customers. Seriously you are right it is not their job to watch out for your child. You failed to do so so they had to do your job. As for them giving you advice on your parenting skills, I ask "what parenting skills." If you were too upset to have your daughter near you incase you hurt her because she made you angry than you need help. Kids can make you upset, especially at that age, but if you are afraid that her behavior will make you hurt her worse than she was already injured I hope you get the help you need.
Depending on where he lives, perhaps school has not started or has ended? Or it is break time. Not everyone online lives in North America. Even if someone's profile says USA does not mean they are giving the correct information.
I agree Mrs Prado.Parenting is not an easy job, and having someone give out unsolicited advice on parenting skills is uncalled for. Good review.
First of all it was none of the employee's business to tell my me how my child should be sitting, that is my job not theirs. They have no right to parent my child. If you had read my review I do feel bad that the child was not by my site, however I felt like I was going to lose it and hurt her worse than she got hurt when she fell because I was tired from shopping and she was getting on my nerves so I left her and the cart behind the register. My sister and I were too busy talking that we did not know she had climbed out until we heard the thump. Why the cashier and other customers who saw what was happening did not stop it I don't understand. They too could have prevented it if they were attentive but guess they were not. Despite this I still am not blaming the store, so before you post read the whole review.
hassle return
I returned some items from last year to Kohl's dept store with my receipt, that I had purchased on my credit card. The associate said that she had to process it as a return without a receipt and have the corporate office issue me a check for my refund within 7 to 10 days. It took almost a month to receive my refund and it came in the form of a merchandise credit. It took me half a day of calling around to get the issue resolved and I was rudely hung up on 3 times by the corporate operator in the process. I finally called the store mgr and will have to now go back to the store to cash in the merchandise credit to get my refund back. Kohl's claims to have no hassle refunds, but they are nothing but a hassle. They also have the practice of not putting prices on their online invoices making it a hassle to return things in the store because they don't know what the online price was. I am done with Kohl's and their rude employees, poor customer service and hassle refunds.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I agree. It just happened to me through their Winston-salem store. They kept my returned merchandise and cheated my out of my money. It should be called "Bait and Switch" return policy. BOYCOTT KOHLS!

Haha. No, Zachary, I wasn't saying the thief was going to come forward and admit they stole anything. I was saying that once the police find the person, the property will be replaced/paid for. But it's not Kohl's responsibility to make sure that happens.
It isn't Kohl's responsibility to replace your items. That's the thief's responsibility. Get with the police...that's their job.
I dont get people, the last thing I would think of if I had items stolen out of my car would be to go to where I bought them and have them replace them. I bet you would get Kohls to replace the items and still claim them on your car insurance.
disreputable company
Kohls (expect great things!) NOT. Kohls is manipulating you and their customer service is lousy and here's my story. Have you noticed everything is always on sale (in reality everything is overpriced then put on sale which is the regular price at most other stores). Kohls gets away with this by adjusting the price up and down by a dollar or so. I recently tried to place on order at Kohls.com and apply my Kohls cash coupons each for $15.00. The website accepted one of my coupons but would not accept the other so I contacted Customer Service. The girl told me "sorry" it's not a valid Kohls Cash number. I asked to talk to a supervisor. She said "sorry" it's not a valid Kohls Cash number. I told her it was, I'm looking at it! It's been run through the register and has a validation code # on it! She put me on hold then came back and said sorry, the clerk at the store forgot to validate it and asked me if it was really busy in the store when I was there! She asked me to drive back to the store and get it validated. I hung up and called their Corporate Office (long distance for me). I requested they call me back since I'm calling long distance and I want some real customer service and I want to place this order using my Kohls cash. You wouldn't believe what she told me. "I can apply your two $15 Kohls cash and you can use your "Yes" Pass for an additional 20% off of your purchase but I hope your order isn't cancelled". I said this is a Christmas gift, what do you mean you hope my order isn't cancelled. She said, "well if the total is under what it costs Kohl for the item, they might cancel your order. I couldn't believe it. I'm never shopping at Kohls again. I'm going to JCPenny's to buy what I was going to purchase at Kohls.

I was a hard working employee there and had worked for Kohl's a little over two yr.'s. I went to the main manager and gave my two wk. notice, thinking it would be somewhat ok when all the manger said ''well that's your choice'' not even looking up! I though how rude ! not even an encouraging word, of course I had better words w/ the one's I worked with they were happy for me.I will never work at this location again if that manager is still working ! The Woodlands, Tx.your management team sucks!
false accused
I was leaving the store with my mother after making a purchase. They asked me to go back into the store. I told them I did nothing wrong. They accused me of stealing putting jewerly in my pocket. I don't do it. I took them everything out of my pockets. I have sere asthma. and my mother was trying to stay claim or I was going to have an attack. The only thing I took in and out of my pockets was my inhalers. I felt so embrassed. I was so mad. A woman tried to close the door on my mother. He didn't say he was sorry. He was going to give me the managers name but not his. My mother got so upset, she started having pains in her stomach, and she has clitis. I used to love Kohl's. They had nice clothes. That I couldn't find anywhere else at good prices, but I do not feel safe there any more. Not when anyone can get falsely accused of anything.
worst experience ever!
I went shopping at kohls in Laredo Tx. I'm a very picky shopper I tend to take long when shopping. I was shopping for my myself and my family as well, I was shopping alone when Im at the men's section picking out clothes for my husband and find a kohls employee starring at me as if I were going to steal something! I felt so uncomfortable and walked toward the shoe department, and what do you know she appears there too! I was so upset I felt as she was being such a prejudice or stereotype! I finally went to the cashier to pay and then again she appeared! I ended up buying $300 worth of clothes. And was very close to just leaving and not buying anything at all! That was uncalled for and rude! If I were to have gotten her name I would of put it up in this complaint!
Are you sure they weren't...I don't know...working?
Contrary to popular belief, associates do actually work in the stores...and you were in the same side of the store the whole time. That associate you saw probably had to work that entire side of the store. I find it highly unlikely that they were 'watching' you...I think it's more likely they were running around the store, and happened to be where you were.
Don't take things so personally, unless you've actually got something to hide.
Unfortunately, it's the way of the world these days. Retail margins are thinner than ever, every single piece of stolen merchandise represents not only a $ loss, but is a product gone that a legit customer can't buy. I feel the eyes too and get angry for a second, laungh it off after that. Sorry for your angst.
accused my wife of stealing
My wife has shopped at Kohls.com and at the retail store in Oxford, Alabama for several years. She bought some shoes online for one of our children, but they did not fit correctly. She took them to the customer service department, and had no trouble exchanging them. The lady at the customer service desk suggested that she put the shoes that were swapped out back in the Kohls.com box in which she brought them in. My wife carried this large box and her purse to the boys department to do some shopping for some jeans for our son. As she went to check out, this man stood and watched her check out. He did not speak to my wife until she had left the store. He stopped my wife just outside the store, and asked her if she had made an online purchase. She was scared, but she answered him "yes". He then asked her to step back into the store and pulls some i.d. card out of his wallet. He, as we found out later, was the loss prevention manager. My wife asked why, and he said "that he could not see her put the jeans back on the shelf in the video" My wife immediately dropped her box of shoes to the floor and told him to look in it...and to also look in her purse, and her jacket. She did not steal any damn jeans or anything else from that store. She was extremely embarrassed and upset to be accused of stealing from a store that we have spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS in the past 4 years with. We have filed a formal complaint, and will encourage everyone to NEVER SHOP AT A KOHLS location. We have cancelled our account, and will never shop there again.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience with the KC. However, it seems a bit extreme to never shop there again. If you are signing up for a charge in another country, you really want to read the fine print. You could easily remedy the situation in the future by immediately paying the charge off with cash after you get the savings with the coupon. That way, you don't have to worry about payment once you are north of the border again.
"badgered" into getting a credit card? I have been to Kohl's many times and they do always ask if I want to sign up for a credit card, do you know how I am able to leave the store everytime without one? I say no.
If you didn't want the credit card you should have just said NO.
