I was shocked to see how many plants were dying from lack of water
I work for a company called Briggs and Associates. I went to Lowes to buy fence and plants. I was shocked to see how many plants were dying from lack of water. For the plants they have that cost 5.00-25.00 they could hire one of my people to water the plants and still save a lot of money. It was a shame to see beautiful plants go to waste like that. I was just shocked and I added the amount of plants they lost and were loosing then what it would cost to hire a consumer who would love to work and they would save lots of money. Its sad to see the waste.
bad manager
I was In Lowes about a week ago. Wanted to buy a swing and went up to a women that worked there named Connie, to ask for help, she and another lady employee was there talking non work related. So I said excuse me can someone help me i have a few questions. An Connie said cant you see i am busy you will have to find someone else to help you. So if you ask me this is poor customer service and i went to home depot and they were happy to help me. So lowes has lost my bussniess due to your employee Connie. I drive all the way to South Ridge when i live in East bank West Virginia. It takes me 25 minutes longer, but i dont care. I dont want to ever deal with someone like her again.

Are you sure the employee in question didn't tell you that they would be with you shortly? I find it hard to believe, having been in Lowe's numerous times, that you would be told from an employee to go find help from someone else. Usually you get more help than you need and those occasions that you ask for help, if it isn't the employee's area, they call someone who is to help you. Could it be that you misunderstood the employee that she was going to call someone in that dept to help you?
Disgruntled employee
I was a lowes seasonal employee. I worked everyday and busted my back for them in hopes that I would be able to stay after the seasonal period was over. I was told many things when I was in my training. I was told I would be making 10.46 an hour and that I was going to be scheduled monday thru friday 4am to 1 pm everyday as an AM stocker. I get my first...

I purchased a Sam sung refrigerator on 5/30/10 (Memorial sale).(Sherman, TX) I paid $1, 999.20 on sale. I was told it was in stock. My husband scheduled to pickup the refrigerator and was there on 6/2/10. He was told they only had one left in stock and they were holding it for someone and tried to talk him into waiting. They sold it to us due to stock available and if they didn't have one we would have purchased one on sale at Best Buy.
They offered to refund our money.. However, none of the other stores had theirs on sale. They didn't care and management tried to sale another brand. I purchased the Sam sung for a reason. They told my husband they would let him have the floor model and discounted it due to dents on one side and one on the top of door. The manager told my husband he could only discount $300.00 because of their cost in the refrig. Why would Lowe's accept damaged merchandise from it's vendors. I did "NOT" want the refrig with dents, however, we didn't have a refrig and my husband wasn't going to get the one in stock. I found additional dents on the bottom front door when he brought it home.
I spent a large sum to remodel my kitchen. I didn't purchase a damaged product and didn't want it in my kitchen. I didn't purchase it for a cabin it's for my home. Then when my husband brought it home and I found additional dents in the front door. I'm sick! Lowe's is acting in "Bad Faith business practice". No integrity... They lied to me and my husband and I have spent thousands of dollars in Lowe's. I have remodeled my home, rental property and this is how they treat me. I don't want a damaged refrigerator, (at any price) I want a new one. I don't want it at a discount...Buyer BEWARE! They will tell you anything to get your purchase and after the sale your on your owe.
coupon rip off
LOWES is a rip off when you try to use coupons . they always have a story as to why they can't accept a manufacturers coupons...3 times I have gone to customer service to complain...with very poor results...stay away from Lowes if you want to save money...they really rip you off with coupons. One time the cashier added the cost of a $5 coupon to my order instead of deducting. Go to Home Depot where help is better and the prices are cheaper. I hate LOWES!
LOWES rips off consumers who use coupons. They hate to see you save money. After 4 attempts I refuse to shop here anymore. Each time I go to the customer service desk...more arguments to get something corrected which is legally mine...they add the price of a coupon to your order instead of deducting. They refuse to use manufacturer coupons with a LOWES 10 % off coupon. It is such a rip off...they do everything to discourage you from savings $$. I had ten dollars in Scotts coupons which they refused to honor...I went to home depot and had no problems. I am now a HOME Depot customer and refuse to spend any money at Lowes.
i would have to disagree with you because you see here in california it is the complete opposite of what your saying here home depot is horrible everyone hates it and lowes is the best, maybe its just where u live?
I have had two really bad experiences in lumber with lowe's
First I should say I normally go to Lowe's for my projects, however I have had two really bad experiences in lumber with Lowe's. The first was a couple of years ago, I was building a 40'x 25' shelter and some decks. I went to lowe's with a list and to my surprise could not get anyone in lumber to help us(Inverness, Fl Store) so we went 15 miles away to Home Depot in Crystal RIver. They were happy for the busness which was over 5k in lumber and other supplies and they delivered it to me. So I quit buying from Lumber unless I had small quantities I could carry from Lowe's here in town even though I like the store.
I decided to build a fence for my son in New Tampa the other day and went to their Lowe's store on Bruce B. Downs. I found what I needed and yes had to put it together myself, at 60 I do ok but no spring chicken, we're talking 6 - 60lb bags of cement, 5 - 60lb bags of rock, plus 4x4 posts. I check out and a employee offered to help me load it since it was a large order, well on the way out he a got call telling him to come back and help someone else, now would you believe as I am load all of this heavy stuff I look over and an employee is helping a lady load her suv with a few pieces of sod, but they could not spare someone to assist me. I do not get the Lowe's attitude in Lumber both in Inverness, fl and in New Tampa. I really hate to change I think Home Depot would appreciate my buisness.
fraudulent business practices
I was on the market for a new washing machine. lowes ' sale rep convinced me on one of the GE model for $599, guaranteed to be the lowest price on the market, and offering me 10% off if i applied a lowe's credit card. After I bring back with Home depot advertised model(the same model) for $ 100 less, lowe's sale rep told me that he can match the price only, and 10% off with credit card application wont be available.
The funny thing is that they even had this AD stating that 10% off to beat any other local store price on the same model.
Lowes's sale rep refuse to honor it at all.
they advertise next day delivery, even when they know that they can't deliver
We bought a washer and dryer on Monday, we were told then that they coudn't deliver them till Saturday? We talked to the manager, he said that they would deliver them on Tuesday.Well today is Tuesday and Lowes called and said that the units that we bought had a problem. When we purchased these there wasn't a problem.I believe that the reason is that they cannot deliver today is because they are over booked. The salesman had told us that they only had one truck running? As big of a corporation that Lowes is one would think that they could overcome this problem. So why do they advertise next day delivery, when they know that they can't deliver. Now do we sit and wait or what. Time is money. They have two trucks in the parking lot for rent?why not use one or two of these to catch up on delivery?I'll bet Jimmie Johnson wouldn't have to wait.
If you wanted or needed your washer dryer why didn't you rent one of the trucks? Lowe's does overbook. They do what they can with what they have. it seems to me like you just didn't want to wait. If say 30 people come to Lowe's today and buys things to be del. do you think Lowe's has the manpower to make 30 del. in 24 hours..
fire after instaling
I've bought a fan from Lowes. After a day of it being installed the remote control mod. caught on fire. If I was not at home at the time it would have burned my house down. I cant find a phone number to complain...

rip off
I purchased a Troy-built *** eater from my local lowes store, used the 2-cycle oil that came with the unit, and got less than 15 minutes of run time before it burned out. When I contacted Lowes, I was told they would send it off for repair. After 2 weeks I was told, the unit is too dadly damaged to repair, because the mixture was too lean. Now they want me to pay an additional $45.00 for a unit that is scrap. Customer service at Lowes has deteriorated in the past couple of years to the point that I will drive an extra 20 miles each way to avoid dealing with them any more.
I had Lowes replace a standard sliding glass door with a new one from them, of an identical size. The sign at the store said installation would be $299. The estimate cost $45. and then when I went to sign the contract for the actual installation of the door they said the installation would be $850.
I had a wedding, out of town, to go to the next week, and they had promised to get the job done by Friday, so I went ahead and said okay.
They didn't get it installed until Tuesday of the next week and I missed the wedding. The extra cost included 4 pieces of trim around the door which is poor quality, and would have cost less than $20.
I will not use Lowes installation services again.
I know there is a class action law suit against the maker of the composit decking but here is my question. Shouldn't Lowe's be suing them instead of the consumer? Lowe's bought the product and sold it to it's consumers. I was part of the suit, Lowes sent me the paper work, but you should have seen what they wanted you to do to get any satisfaction. Unbelieveable! I now have a hugh deck on the front of my house that is warped and molded and there isn't a thing I can do. They wanted me to take a picture of the end of one of the boards with the code on it so they could be sure of when I bought it...My deck is enclosed around the bottom and I don't have any of those things, they were removed when the deck was built. Lowe's knows when I bought the material, they sent me the paperwork. Or how about they want me to cut a piece of the deck board with the mold on it and mail it to them. What has this world become? I spent $2500.00 on decking material plus the cost of having it installed and now I have to pay to have the mold removed several times a year because it looks so awful. I'm done buying anything at Lowe's..they don't stand behind their products.
you mixed the gas/oil wrong. they are basically telling you since you messed up they are not going to pay for it
service advantage
Lowe's service advantage program is pretty much a complete waste of money. I have a Husqvarna riding mower that is less than 2 years old and still covered by manufacturer warranty. Lowe's doesn't even properly know who should be repairing the mower. They pretty quickly had it picked up where it sat at one company for three weeks and I heard nothing, not a peep. Finally I call the company directly and they inform me they have to deliver it to another company for the repairs because it's still under factory warranty, and they only do "extended warranty" for Lowe's. So after sitting three weeks at one repair place, it gets moved to another one that does the warranty work but goes to the end of the line. Now another three weeks has passed and my mower hasn't even been looked at yet. Six freakin weeks without a mower that's not even two years old yet. I can't even remember what I paid for this stupid plan but whatever it was it's not worth it at all.

bad management
I have bought everything from Lowes when I remodeled my whole house in the last few years. I always recieved A 10% discount from the management. Recently I went to the Camden SC Lowes where I always go and wanted to purchase an trialer. And management told me that there is no way __she could give me anything off on it, I said I could go to The two notch store and get it. She said that would be fine, so I did go there and yes I did get my discount. She didnt even ask me if I was military for the discount guess that dosnt matter anymore. Actually I think I was just the wrong color!
denied promo loan
I applied for an interest free promotion @ LOWES, and after being asked several personal questions was denied on the spot. No reason was given and LOWES didn't even know who they were using for the credit bank, so I couldn't call and had to wait for the deniel letter.
Reason for denial, "UNABLE TO VERIFY IDENTITY WITH INFORMATION PROVIDED".
What a crock, and of course there is no phone number on the denial letter.
I don't understand, after all the intrusive questions, they can say they can't verify who I am. Total nonsense.
As far as LOWES stores, they should know what credit agency is being used and provide the consumer with that information, in the event of a denial.
false advertisement and lowes is cheating people out of there money
I bought kobalt tools from lowes . i think they are better than craftsman except when it comes to warranties. at sears you bring the tool in they inspect it and replace it free of charge. i went to lowes my poket knife fell apart i got another one went to retuens presented the so called kobalt warranty "hassle-free" and this is what i got, let me see your...
Read full review of Lowe's and 30 commentsage discrimination
You can not advance unless you are under 25 - 30 years of age at lowe's. People over the age of 40 are constantly being written up inorder to get them fired and they also have great work ethics.
They love to advance the 25 - 30 year age group, because they do not know any better and will follow them like a love sick puppy dog and kiss their ###. This age group will believe every lying word as if it was the bible. They also basically get away with murder. Most of them are not dependable, by blowing off work. They rather talk to other co-workers in their age group, then do what they are paid to do. One was so lazy that she saw a piece of paper on the floor, that she stepped on it and slid it under a skid. A head cashier (Under the age of 30) even had an unauthorized person in customer service for approxiately 5 - 10 minutes. Lowe's don't even allow floor associates behind the customer service area. Most of their head cashiers will treat the over 40 age group like they are children of the age of 10 and demean them in front of customers. They also have the power trip and throw it in you face.
They give more hours to the seasonal workers, which are their students, because they are back for a week from school. The regular part time people are left with only 10 hours, while the seasonal workers get 20 hours. Most of your part timers are trying to make ends meet and are there all year round, while the seasonal come and go as they please. Lowe's know that they are cutting hours, but they will find hours for the seasonal people. I feel bad for them too, but everyone else are fighting for their lives too!
Grant you, that they have one or two to keep up the appearance that they don't discriminate. Lows's totally age discrimate. The store manager will state one thing and completely does the totally opposite thing.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have the same situation however, I have more to share. Check this in your stores, but be very careful. I discovered fraud. Credit Card fraud and the reason I wasn't being promoted was because I didn't want to play their game. I was harassed, discriminated, even endangered lastly terminated. I'm in California. Even in the current lawsuit I have filled against them, they managed to convince my lawyer to quit and the judge approved his relief from the case. I'm currently filing a EEOC complaint so if any of you in California were terminated, discriminated, harassed and others, I want to turn my lawsuit into a Class Action, but I need more people to participate. Please let know if you are interested.
I applied at Lowe's for project interior specialist in Fl. 2013, they saw my portfolio and called me the same day with compliments. I waited a month or so for an interview. After extensive interview Marketing Manager said they were leaning toward choosing me and feel free to call him on cell with any questions, they were to let me know in a couple of days about next step. I waited a with no reply. After two weeks I went back to the store where the HR Manager told me that they hired a young man but he "the marketing manager" was supposed to get with me for another store. I never heard from anyone. ONE YEAR AND TWO MONTHS LATER I received a dear john email thanking me for applying but they choose someone else more qualified. Lowe's did 55 billion in revenues 2015. I guess they can afford to waste your time!
Lowe's does not pay its sub contractors I have been with them for many years and can not get paid for alot of the work we have done although we have the best coudtomer scores in the area be carefull Lowe's is not your partner like they say they will cheat you oput of every dime use you and then replace you
I am doing a bathroom remodel and wrote a check for my purchases today in the amount of $917.75 using our Henry's Ag Services check. The check was declined. could you please tell me why?

I was looking for plumbing parts and spent 1 1/2 hrs with a employee, who waited on me as well as 8 other
customers, at the same time making my visit too long. This employee needs to be evaluated for attention
defeceit.
Don't forget having any past affiliation with union shops; I am witness to the quad threat...black, handicapped, old, and ex union. Its not advisable to lie on your resume, but I still pass for younger until I verbally reveal the other "traits". During both interviews, It was suggested that I favor "seasonal" jobs...ha! When some Kid is responsible for the future of the world, you'd better be dead! The sad part is they're headed for the same fate. They are suck up, immature, inexperienced and practicing cronyism, nepotism, ageism AND racism!
Be observant when shopping in Lowes next time...check out the "servants" lurking in the shadows, and the "Pilgrims" up front. History repeating itself (the cycle continues), sadly :( any class action momentum deserves acknowledgement- put me in, coach :) Overqualified again!
I have applied to Lowes numerous times, I worked in a building inspection department until I retired and held structural and professional certifications and thirty years of experience relative to residential construction repair and remodeling. I know more about buildings and materials than the people Lowes hires ever will. Lowes hires a few older people to give the appearance they don't descriminate, I have applied for at least ten jobs and it's always the same thanks but no thanks! I assume a 28 year old is reviewing the applications. I guess all of us old people need to show up and do a lay-in or die-in at their entrance, they can have us arrested and then they will have a real reason not to hire us people over 50.
I am a fit, non smoking 50 years old white male, have eighteen(18) years of experience in landscaping(maintenance/installation), gardening and years of experience working in plant/tree nurseries. Ive applied online at several Lowes stores for numerous jobs(cust svc/garden dept), both seasonal and full time and get turn down emails every time. I work PT but have told Lowes mgrs and HR managers I would love to work for them, either reg PT or reg FT. Two years now and nothing but rejection. I know Lowes has some good employees but I also see a lot of deadbeat employees in the several stores I frequent throughout the year(buying supplies). No idea why I can't hired(I have nothing on my criminal background and have a valid DL) but I'm beginning to suspect age discrimination. Both mgrs at my job interviews were no more than 30 years of age.
They will not hire you over 40! I have tried over and over and get a a nice email in Pensacola thanking me for applying! I have over 20 years of truck driving with cdl A class and no ticket and clean record!
harassment
A complaint is never good. The last thing someone wants to do. However, the only good thing about this complaint is that at least it wasn't "sexual". It's actually very sad to look at it that way. I rather not go into details but I do want it to be known that management has performed little to none with taking action. I've read several other complaint...

Today and various other days our zone managers in our stores have been playing favorites they only like the CUTE popular girls they favor them give them the good shifts and today i went ot go purchace my items as a lowes employee and was told that i would not recive my discount unless i had my card ten minutes before that another (cute) girl was purchasing her stuff and got the discount with out her card i was very upset about this i work hard for lowes and only wanted ten % off my item if i would have been a CUTE girl this would have never of been a problem i have worked for lowes for two and half years this is really unfar i also want to point out this zone manager 's name is bryon store 1613
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Why wouldn't you just do a refund/rebill the next time you were working when you had your discount card? Maybe you wouldn't work for Lowe's or any major retailer if something that little makes you that upset.
This is not the place for this type of complaint. They are in an actionable position just as much as you are. Lowes has an complaint process that is handled by an independent company which is to be used for this very reason. This is something you agreed to when you signed your new hire paperwork. Also, in the paperwork you signed it stated that you will not receive your employee discount unless you have your employee discount.
If you have a complaint to lodge agains a zone manager that you feel cannot be settled through Lowe's "open door policy" then I suggest you file a complaint though EthicsPoint at:
https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/12758/NewIndex.html
or call :[protected](toll free)
Also, Zone Managers don't make the shifts and you know that so please don't make false accusations. Do yourself a favor and speak to either your HR Manager or your District HR manager otherwise you may find yourself without a job. Your complaint was very specific and you foolishly identified yourself on a public forum with situational information. If you were to continue to make public complaints against Store 1613 with situational information that can be tracked back to you, you could be facing termination for violating Lowe's policies and procedures which, again, you signed saying you agree to follow them.
Be smarter than them. Bryon sounds like an idiot for jeopardizing his career by playing "favorites" but complaining the way you did makes you no better than Bryon.
paint color don't match
I've had 2 instances of Valspar paint not matching.
In the first instance, I bought a gallon of paint at store A. After doing all the trim and 3 of the walls, I ran out of paint. Went to store B for gallon 2. Finished job but when it dried, it didn't match gallon 1. There was a significant difference in shades. Took some pictures, went back to store 2. They agreed paint did not match but suggested that I go back to store 1 since they sometimes have "tinting issues". They mixed the paint at store 1, didn't charge me. I applied gallon 3 to a small area...it matched gallon 2. Instead of fighting them, I repainted all the trim and the other 3 walls. Lots of extra work but it looks great.
Instance 2. This time I bought 2 gallons to paint a room of smaller size than first room. Even though I was painting over white walls (with a light yellow paint), one coat was not enough. I only had about 1 quart left after one coat. When I ran out, I bought the 3rd gallon. Guess what? It, too, doesn't match the first 2 gallons and this time I went to the same store (they even used the same machine).

door will not lock
I had lowe's install a larson retractable screen tradewinds storm door, which i have loved having. But now the cord that retracts the screen is showing and will not wind back. How can this problem be solved?
I already sent my complaint. What am I suppose to comment on?

bad customer service
Today I went to return a snow blower that we bought two months back. I also bought three years Lowes extended warranty for this product. There was no mechanical fault in the blower but I just did not like the power of the snow blower so I decided to return it or replace it. By the way, even though I bought the snow blower two months back today was my first day to unpack it and use it because it was first bad storm in Toronto since then I bought the snow blower.
The cashier (a good guy) checked the receipt and open the box and checked the gas tank to verify if there is gas in it. There was gas in it so he called his manager (Tonie) and returned to me. He said he was told by his manager that we can return it provided I pump out the gas from it since they cannot return any product that has gas in it. Fair enough. Then I asked him how do I remove gas from it. He said they have a device called gas pump or something like that. I said from where I can buy it. It was 9:00pm so I decided to buy it because I didn't want to go back home and do all the hassles of packing and unpacking again. He said they have pump device and I should be able to find it in consumer department.
I tried searching the pump in consumer department as I was told by that gentle man. But after few minutes, the same gentle man came and told me that we don't sell that device. I asked him if any other store sell that device. I then realized that I can go Wal-Mart which is very close from Lowes. He agreed. But all of sudden he said let him talk to his manager again and see if they can do something for me.
This time he talked to a duty manager, Jagh. The manager came and said they cannot return the snow blower because as per company policy they cannot return it since it has passed 30 days return policy. I asked him that I was told 15 minutes back that they will return it provided I remove the gas. But the duty manager was so un-professional and without giving me any other options he said simply no we cannot return it and I have to move the blower from the store since it is dangerous to keep it with gas in it. He also said that even I stay here for whole night he will not return this snow blower. This guy was so rude and un-professional that I cannot explain here.
I asked him why I was told by the cashier that they will return it. Why they did not tell me at the first place instead of wasting my valuable time. The cashier maybe under the pressure or fear of losing his job also changed his statement and said he did not say that they will return it. If this was the case then why I was told to buy the gas pump from Lowes to pump out the gas. Why my time was wasted and then why they changed their statement.
Then I asked that cashier if I can speak to the manager whom he talked earlier and who told him to remove the gas in order to return it. At first I was told that she is now gone from vacation for one week. I mean within 30 minutes she all of sudden decided to go for one week vacation. But after I argued and insisted they agreed to call her. Her name is Tonie. She came and said she never told to that cashier anything like this. They all started lying and started making different stories.
I am not against the Lowes policy of 30 days return. My real complain is why I was given wrong expectations at first place and asked to remove the gas from it to return it. Why I was told to buy the gas pump to remove the gas from snow blower in order to return it. Can they explain why I was told to remove the gas from it and why I was told to buy the gas pump from Lowes to remove the gas?
They just simply lied and did not help me and did not provide any customer service for which I paid. Even they did not give me any other options. I never had such a bad experience from Canadian Tire or Wal-mart.
I would simply never buy anything from Lowes and will never recommend to my friends, family members or anyone to buy from Lowes. Instead I will discourage them not to buy anything from Lowes and will share my experience will everyone I know.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Thanks for the warning. Was about to buy on sale a snowblower from Lowes. Thought the return was 90 days but now see it is only 30 days. It is late September and I probably won’t use it till December which is after the return period.
So if I buy it will be in December or January as it is a lot of money to be stuck with a dud performer.

Most of my garden and landscaping was accomplished by buying 50% off plants from the Lowe's sale rack. A ligule love, water, and Miracle Gro goes a long way. Thanks, Lowe's. If you watered faithfully, I'd have to pay full price!
Lowe's does NOT get vendor credit. Plants are required to be watered regularly. If plants die, or are marked down to sell because they are not full quality, Lowe's eats the loss.
Lowe's gets credit from vendors for bad merch. They aren't actually losing money.
