bad service, awful contractors
My husband and I went to the local Lowes to see about ordering a new front door. The guy we talked to was very professional with us and helped us pick out something nice. Keep in mind that we had mentioned to him that this was our first time buying a door. So we get the door ordered and he tells us that since its a custom one that it will take 2 weeks before its in. Okay no problem. So the 2 weeks goes and no call. My husband decides to call the following monday to see whats going on. The lady he spoke with told him that it should be there sometime that week. So we waited. Again no calls for the rest of that week. Again Monday came and he called again. This time a guy who worked in Doors/Windows department answered saying that the door had gotten there the previous Wednesday, well thanks for the call! So he tells him that the installer should be calling us within the next 48 hours. A couple days later we're getting ready for bed and it's a little after 10pm. We don't answer and there's no message left. The following day the same person calls at 9:30 so we decide to answer, guess who? The door installer! Yeah so I talk to him and the soonest that he can get the door installed isn't for another 3 weeks. Yeah! We were definitely pissed! But what can you do? So we waited that 3 weeks and the day before its suppose to be installed we get a call from one of the Lowes people saying that basically the installer had come in to check out the door and saw that there was a big dent on one side of it. We had to reorder it. Thankfully my husband is good at dealing with confrontation because I'm not. He called the corporate office and explained what had happened. The guy there told him that he would take 40% off the door cost and refund that back to us. (Or something along those lines) My husband is good at negotiating.
So again we wait another 2 weeks and the door comes in. We schedule to have it installed. So the day of installation the door installer shows up along with a lady that we had been dealing with at the Lowes, she was a sales manager. As soon as i saw her I knew something was wrong. They came walking up to my door smiling, I was nervous because my husband wasn't there. So it turns out that the door again had some issues. They had me look at the door which the installer brought along with to show me. Turns out the frame of the door had a bow in it. Meaning another reorder! haha
Deja Vu! So we order it again and again they refund us some money back. The 2 weeks go by and they both show up again on the install date. Thank god, nothing was wrong with the door this time. :) So it gets installed and looked great. The only real issue this time was the fact that we were never told by anyone, that they wouldn't be able to put our storm door back on! Yeah! So now we have the new front door but no storm door. So again we went back to Lowes, a different one this time! haha Just to compare. We're still waiting on that one.
In the end the front door originally cost somewhere around $1600, by the time we got it, we had only paid a little over $400! haha Yeah so I guess we won in the end but it was a long process.
Most of the people we dealt with at Lowes were very professional and friendly. A couple of people decided it better to lie to the store manager then to tell the truth about phone calls. Like we had been told multiple times that we would get a phone call back but never got one. So those people, one guy in particular that we dealt with a lot was the worst of all, Kevin! He lied straight to our face basically, my husband was talking to the store manager on the phone trying to explain about the lack of phone calls and in the background we could hear Kevin telling him that he didn't know what we were talking about, that he had indeed called us back. What a lier!
Lastly when we went to the other Lowes to order the storm door, I ran into Kevin. He tried to do the polite hello chit chat which I was certainly not interested in having. Turns out he was at the other Lowes because he was training to be an assistant store manager. How sad! Hopefully we don't have any issues with the storm door. My fingers aren't crossed though.
unauthorized charges
I was at the register to check out a small item. The charge came to $4.00 and I handed the check out young man a $20.00 (no doubt it was a $20 because it was all that I had with me) he gave me change for a $10.00. I informed him that I gave him a $20 dollar bill and he stated that "I don't think so!" He was rude to start with, as he was talking to an associate while doing a cash transition. The manager told me that he checked the till and it was only off $.39. I told him that what this means to me is that the till was $10.00 short before my transaction. While I was speaking with him he just decided to walk away from me while I was still speaking. This really infuriated me. I told him that I was still speaking to him and to please not to walk away while I was still talking. He stated that he was going to get my $6 dollars change and the receipt. I said fine, right after I am done talking to you. He became very, very rude! Not only did they short change me $10 dollars but I was very insulted by the treatment I received. There is no customer service there. I have spent a few thousand dollars in this store in the past two years and to be treated like this is not the way to keep customers. Besides the fact that they stole $10 dollars from me too!

very, very slow service
On 7-18-09 I bought a few clearance items at your store in southaven ms. . The cashier had to call someone to do an over ride it took them over 30 mins. To get someone to the regester. The cashier called at least five times to get someone to come to the garden center register, and when a manger finally came I told him about having to wait 30 mins. And got no response, is this your policy of dealing with your coustomers if so this is very unaccepabale. I have been a very loyal coustmer for years but I can take my busness back to home depot, I am remodeling my house and I buy alot of my supplies from your company.
I have always been pleased with the service I have recieved with your company until now. I also work with the public and I know it takes only one bad experience to loose a coustomer.

This is not the cashiers or the managers fault, over a certain amount the cashier must get approval or a price change. In order to prevent us from marking things down to very low prices for friends, family etc. It is not only frustrating for the customer but us too. Do you think we want you huffing and puffing and staring us down like we can speed up what our managers are doing? I personally have been screamed at by customers over waiting on overrides and have to smile and thank them for being a pain in my backside for half an hour!
lowes vaspar paint rebate
I purchased 6 gallons of Valspar Paint from Lowes on May and received two separate cash register receipts. The receipts included Lowes Vaspar Rebate forms, instructionsand mailing address for Lowe's $5 Rebate. I duly filled out my 2 Lowes Vaspar rebate receipts that clearly stated that each gallon of paint I purchased was eligible for a $5.00 rebate. I...

I was shopping in Lowe's recently and had a question about the different credit cards they offer so I headed up to the service desk. First of all the cashier/salesperson(Marie) was on the phone(flirting) and ignored that i was there. She quickly hung up as she noticed me getting frustrated. She acted like she was on the phone with a customer but I clearly heard her flirting with whomever. She was very rude with me as im guessing i interrupted her conversation. She hurriedly explained the few diff. cards to me but seemed to not want to help me at all. She seemed as if she just didnt want to be there. Maybe she was just having a bad day but I'm a customer and she has a job to do serving me. I listened, took the pamplets and headed out the door. Since she was so rude and unprofessional with me I just decided to not ever get a credit card through Lowe's . Just thought some of you may wantto know NOT TO SHOP AT THE FOLEY LOWE'S! VERY BAD SERVICE AND RUDE EMPLOYEES. (NOT ALL BUT MOST)

The reason why they all have poor attuitides is because of how they are treated by Lowe's. Lowe's does NOT care about their employee's at all!
lazy workers
My fiance and I went to lowes in shelby nc on 3-22-09 looking for a small metal building. We found one we were interessted in so I go for help to load the building the little guy I talked to said well take a cart and you can get it yourself and I told him it was behind a metal chain that said employes only! He said oh you can remove the chain and get it. Against my better judgement I I told my fiance what he said and he removed the chain and started to get the building and 5 others fell on him crushinghim between the cart and theses buildings! We filled out a accident report and was told if he needed to go to the dr to send all the bills to srs which is there claims department and the bills would get paid well he did need to go to the dr and had a huge cut on his leg and severe abdominal pain and was set to the er and he had multibale abnominal contutions and was put out of work for a week the medical bills came out tp 5500 dollars and lowes and srs told us the best they could do was 2500 so thanks alot and I will never shop at lowes stores again we had spent near 18000 in about 8 months remodling our house I guess im a home depot fan now so please dont shop lowes thet dont care about you or anybody else!

nightmare w floor install
Why not to select lowe’s for flooring install… … and why I hate lowe’s After persistant nagging from my wife, I was forced to make a quick selection for my wooden floor install. I thought, if I went to a reputable, chain I should be fine. First of all, the sales person never explained the difference between a glue down and lock in. The price for the...

I once worked at Lowes in the overnight receiving and I was always rushed through my normal work load which included over 200lb boxes and long shelves. I always did my work, I called out on several instances for illness. I called out for family emergency and two times for my car breaking down. The first time was my car had a flat and I walked 3 miles home and went to sleep. I called the next day and was told it wask okay but next time call. The next time my car broke down the clutch went I called early like 6:30, I didnt have to be in until 10:00. The manager wrote me up. Eventually I got injured mainly because the day manager for my department over ordered stock and I had no where to put it. I had to stock long wire shelves in an area that the overhead picker couldn't go all the way up do to the steel overhead beams. I would lift over 15 foot shelves by my self and one night my elbow made a funny noise. I told my ON manager my elbow was bothering me, but all he would tell me there was no light duty for my on overnite. At least 4 other employees on ON had lite duty prior to me in my 1 and a half years there, on the whole time I was there, and still to this day. But for me it was no go. I called out when ever the pain was greatest and would rest my arm since I couldnt get any help to my department. Also I would have to finish other departments one of which, the worker spent most of the time talking on his cell phone sitting at the desk in appliances instead of working. Any how I found out that I had been written up several times without even knowing it, but the Store Manager tried to fire me at first. The HR found out through some of the others that I got hurt at the job, and that the manager knew about it, he told her that I got hurt at my other job. She at least got me Worker s Comp, but then the nite mite tried to get me on days and I couldnt do this to children situation. When I was ready to go back in August, after I saw one of their docs. Who said nothing was wrong except Tendonitis, but the MRI Office said I had a tear big enough for possible stitching. Any how he first wrote a note for light duty, I told him that they would only day hours under LD. He then changed the note to regular work, but told me dont lift anything heavy. Anyhow I sent all my papers in to HR, was never called back, made several attempts to call SM and HR but was told they where either out to lunch or in a meeting. The one day when this was just starting I tried to call the Store manager but was told he was on lunch, this was for 3 hours. I could tell he was a Big eater but 3 hours come on time to diet. The funny sides to this story besides the OM having a Napoleon complex was that even though they offered me day hours to screw me out of pay under Work Comp, and claim I refused work under unemployment, was that I survived all the B.S.. The SM was moved to another store, which if he stayed there he would have had the place close. And the OM ended up going to days which he always wanted to do, but then got caught doing the nasty with the help and got demoted and moved to another location.

defective
Hi,
I have 4 Harbor Breeze outdoor ceiling fans on my patio, they are 5 yrs old.
Me and my friend were in the hot tub the other night and we heard a loud noise, we looked around and saw one of the fans wabbleing,
then we saw one of the blades had broke off and flew across the patio and hit the side of the hot tub. Thank God it did not hit me or my friend but if it had happened just one minute sooner it could have injured me because I had been standing right where it hit.
I feel these fans are defective and need to be taken off the market.
I purchased them because they are for outdoor use and the blades are made of hard plastic or pvc so I thought they would be safe to use outdoors. As I was taking the fan down I noticed another blade that fan was almost broke off. I have checked all the other fans to find they all have broken blades that are ready to fall off. I am just thankful that nobody was injured. I am replacing all the fans and I will not purchase this brand again. I felt I needed to tell someone about this because this could be a real danger.
Thank you
Susan

service @ check-out
I had purchased $286.17 worth of paint. I had received great service at the paint counter.
As I was approaching the check out area, a checker named Linda signaled me to come to the self checkout area.
As I approached I told her that I did not want to use the self checkout as I do not agree with this service. She sneared at me and informed me that she would not make me use self-check out. She continued to frown at me as she pulled my basket
toward her check out station. I asked her to turn loose of my basket as I did not appreciate her attitude toward me. She continued to glare at me as I went to another station. My husband and I have completely updated our home and a majority of the items were purchased from Lowes and we have never been treated badly or rudely before. I will surely remember this when I need to purchase anything else for our home.

poor service, poor delivery, poor management. they just stink
I went to Lowes on June 5th at 4 pm to meet with Steve and go over the order for a new front porch. While going over order Steve explained that he didn't know much about the "hidden link" as it just came in a few weeks ago and he hadn't had time to go over it but told us that was what we would need to hide the screws on the decking. He told us that they...

I needed ceiling paint for my textured ceiling so went to Lowes to get it. The idiot who waited on me sold me popcorn paint that required constant stirring, which we took turns doing, and did not do the job. I have just moved here from Florida and loved Lowes down there. Lowes should send all their employees to Florida to learn to assist customers and assist them properly. I not only did not get done what I wanted to get done because there was not enough paint I had to go out and buy more ceiling paint to cover up the garbage that was sold to me. In some areas the paint would not even adhere to the ceiling but when regular ceiling paint was applied it adhered perfectly. Not only did I waste the money for the first bunch of paint, $25.98 for 2GL VAL Texture Paint Ceiling, I had to pay for 2 GL Prem. Int. Fl. Clng paint @$16.47 each. I had hired someone to do the job for me and had to pay them extra to redo it.
I will make a point of letting everyone I know how shabbily I was treated in the store #[protected]. I will also be telling them that Lowes is not the right store to shop at nor will I shop there again.
I am expecting the decency of a reply and a solution to my having had to spend the money for a useless product that the ### who waited on me insisted was what I needed. The manager of the store is: Christopher Lane.
As I said before I expect a reply either by phone or email.

managers in all areas
I was once employed at this lowes. First off I had to train myself. I soon realized that I knew more about the department I worked in (Hardware) and the products than my department manager. She was very lazy and incompetant (I hear she still is). If you work here long enough you realize the store is run by csa's the managers (department, zone, operations, and store manager) are idiots. The higher your rank the less you know. This store illustrates the peter principle very well. David, try actually working a full week like most managers. Ken, you've kissed enough a% come up for air. Ernie, you're a joke seriously. Maria... Lol, you get the award for the laziest, most incompetant, undeserving manager of all the lowes stores. Oh yeah you should really reevaluate the excuses you come up with for your two hr lunch breaks, sudden illnesses, and mia moments. You're starting to repeat your lies over and over again. People are noticing.

no grace period
Lowe's Visa bought out a Capitol One account of mine which was at interest rate of 12% (low for me). Within six months the rate went to 24% with NO late payments, always paying 'way above minimum and no late payments with other companies. On June 6 I received the May statement stating a closing date of 5/27/09 and stating a due date of 6/12/09, thus giving me about a four day grace period to send in payment. Also in the statement was an enclosure stating the interest rate is going up, the penalty for late payment is going up, if the balance is paid in full they still can charge late fees, up interest rate, etc, and lastly, they will call my cell phone to "talk" to me about my account if necessary and can have "others" use automated dialing to my cell phone to "talk" about the account. I closed out the account today, and I have closed out my 30 year relationship with Lowe's. I also called the telephone number listed to opt out of the cell phone calls, and found that it was just a ploy to get me to put in my cell phone number. I hung up on them.
Please always read the inserts in your statements and always look at the due date - this is a gimmick from GE Bank, and I am reporting to my state Attorney General and also my congressmen.

nightmare at lowes
I recently went to lowes in foley, al and waited 30 before anyone waited on me. I was shopping for lighting fixtures. I finally found someone to help me and she ended up being very rude. I didnt get to catch her nametag backwards but she was kinda on the short side with blonde/light brown hair, maybe dirty blonde. After about 15 minutes of dealing with her I decided to leave and just go to home depot. I don't come into the store being rude and dont expect the employees to be rude to me either. I was buying lighting fixtures for my whole house and spent over $1, 200 at home depot. I was very dissappointed and will never shop Lowes again.

Wanting a new front door for our home, I went to Lowe's HIW in Knightdale, NC almost three weeks ago and bought an acceptable door. The woman who helped me buy and make arrangements for installation of the door managed to hurt the feelings of the African-American installer by not having made all the measurements he wanted to have. He turned down my job based on that experience, so she found another man to do the installation. He telephoned and made an appointment to come and do the installation on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, but then he never showed up, nor did he phone to change the appointment. They were quick enough to collect the price of the door and the installation, although no installer has been on my property and certainly, no door has been delivered. This monkey business has to stop: Lowe's has no business charging for work that was never performed.
hostile employee - really bad & customer service&
I went in to purchase exterior primer and paint. Saw a sign taped to a pole advertising Olympic Zissner 1-2-3 Primer (paint) on sale till June 1st. There was no one behind the paint counter. Two guys were stocking shelves in the middle aisle behind the paint pen. I asked for their help. They didn't know anything about paint. They went to the next aisle and...

I work at a lowes and I had injured my back. so now all of a sudden (mind you I didn't miss any work) I am no Longer a CSA but a cashier and they wont give me a reason. this is total BS and am determining if I should turn around and tell them to F' Off... Don't get me wrong Lowes Corporate values are good and they hand us fat bonuses through out the year, but this is it the Almost all the Senior Managers at my store are Idiots and ###s.
I am a Lowe's employee and have not seen all these "fat" bonuses throughout the year. Maybe you were made a cashier because they feared you would injure your back if you were still a CSA. I know you would if you worked like I have.
fire hazard, breakdown of components
While looking for replacement burners for my Perfect Flame BBQ, I came across comments from other owners of this model SLG2006B. I have had a similar experience of the entire unit catching fire (not from a flare-up) The heat was so intense that it seared the siding on the house. The inside of the cover is now peeling, and while doing my spring BBQ check-up...

Yesterday a Lowes Contractor (Summit) came to my home in Oklahoma City. They worked for a few hours in my home. I have 2 dogs
bark but don't bite the workers were around them while in the house. So just after the contractor leaves I leave and who my home
gets broken into. They seemed to know where to find the stolen items in the home. HMMMMM wonder how that is! Oh wait the shady
contractor that Lowes sent to do the work. Most people that kick in doors on homes don't do it with 2 barking dogs inside without
if they are going to get bitten. So thank you Lowes because of you several guns are on the streets of Oklahoma City and lots of
personal property that my deceased father had given me just before his death!
because a door is dented or damaged does not mean its lowe's fault. that would be the shipper' special orders can come as far as canada to florida on somethings' and waiting can driving anyone crazy' but however keep in mind lowes is 100% on customer service vs home depot walmart ace, etc. problems like these happen with any company and for lowes as a great company as they are gave you a great deal! 400 bucks for a 1600 $ door? and your still complainting? get over yourself'...only in america! p.s. i deal with customers like this on a weekly basis', there doing nothing but sucking lowes dry to save a few bucks.
