I placed an online order on 23 June and told it would be delivered by 28 June. After numerous phone calls I was promised someone would provide me with feedback - this never happened. Eventually the chairs were delivered 18 July... and it was not what I ordered. I phoned the call center immediately and was told that a team leader would call me back by close of business but was also told to phone the supplier in Cape Town myself to arrange an exchange! What a cheek! Needless to say, the team leader never phoned and the suppliers phone just rings. I called again this morning and asked for a team leader to phone me by lunchtime. Still no phone call. I have asked for the chairs to be collected and an immediate refund so that I can buy these chairs elsewhere rather.
After reporting this on social media I had a few calls trying to resolve the issue. It was agreed 3 weeks ago that the chairs would be collected and I would be refunded. This has still not happened. I was asked to send barcodes through via email, which I did a week ago and have not heard anything. When I phoned on Monday I was told that the collection of the chairs had been arranged. I asked for someone to call me back that day to confirm when this will happen and I have still not been phoned.
Makro has been sitting with my money for 7 weeks and I'm sitting with nothing except 7 chairs that are blocking up my garage!
This has been a shocking experience and very bad customer service! My Order number is MAK2077392.

On 22/07/2019, I placed on order online for stationery to be delivered. Order number: MAK2096077. The payment was taken immediately.
I have been contacted on 31/07/2019, to inform me of shortages in stock. I agreed to have it reduced to the availability.
However the order is only to be packed today?
When will we receive the stock?

65 exercise balls ordered
We ordered 65 exercise balls for our company on 25 June and made immediate payment. Today is the 6th of August and we still did not receive the order. When we followed up, we were told that the order has been sent. Later we were told that they could not allocate the payment. Then they promised to deliver the order before COB 2 August. It is the 6th of August and we still do not have the order, we do not receive any feedback on emails sent to ‘Makro Care, ' when we phone we are told that they will confirm and come back to us. We do not receive any feedback and they ignore us at this stage. Do not trust Makro online for any orders, they will disappoint.

On 5 August I log in to check on the progress of the order and I see that the status changed to "cancelled".

We bought a Belize entertainment center from Makro Online on the 26 the July 2019
The delivery was supposed to be at the latest on the 2nd August
On the 2 and I phoned and was informed that the unit was at Makro Silverlakes I asked that they deliver as my Wife took a day of to wait for the unit at 17 h45 I got a call from A Lady at Silverlakes informing me that the unit can't be delivered as it was damagedmwhich I don't believe as here stockholding shows zero stock
This is utterly Bad service a PITY Wallmart would connect there name to such a inept useless company as Makro

I bought a 6 pack chocolate Steri Stumpie at Makro on 27 July 2019 and upon giving it to the kids, one bottle was found to have some sediment and seemed off. The expiry date however was 25/01/2020. I had to discard of this bottle which obviously left one kid very unhappy. Please refer to pics below and contact me should you require any additional information.

I have tweeted Makro 15/07/19, Then spoke to Kameel at Cape Gate-she referred me to Charmaine Simms who she said would call me-she has to date never called me or left any voice message on my phone?
I have called last week twice and left messages for Charmaine to call me about the accident involving my brand new Metallic Blue Nissan QashQai!
I have been shopping at Makro for over 15 yrs and spent thousands of Rands at the store. Just recently I purchased a new LG fridge valued R22k so I would appreciate Makro dealing with this issue expediently and showing me a return of care for my loyalty!

Our technician bought the Defy slimline at Makro Store Strubens Valley, Roodepoort, South Africa. Since the items is not working.
He contacted Makro in the beginning of June 2019 and according to them, DEFY should send a technician to change it. Since he never received any call from any Defy technician neither from Makro Strubens Valley.
Can someone assist me with this issue? Because I'm the final victim in this game. Seating with a DEFY stove that only one plate is working.

hisense 16kg automatic top loader washing machine drainage and burning cables faulty
To whom it may concern I have bought a washing machine at makro Silverlakes to cut a long story short last week I called your contact centre on 0860 307 999 spoke to a consultant by the name of katlego on 15/07/19 @ 17H11 explained to her that my machine doesnt want to drain out water and cables are burning from behind the machine because there was a smoke coming from the machine . She gave me a call ref which was 166061 and told me hisense will send me a job number and a date when a technician will come a fix this matter. So a week passed heared nothing from hisense so I called again on 22/07/19 @ 15H09 spoke to Sanele she explained that Katlego did not send my query to hisense why I honestly dont know so we had to start the whole proccess again, told her the same info I did with the 1st consultant she gave me a new call ref which is 177984 . She then proceeded in to lodge my complain then advised that I will get a call from them in 48 to 72 hours with feedback from hisense, but yet again no feedback. I called again spoke to Thembi 25/07/19 @ 9H16 she told me hisense had a backlock problem that is why I havent heared anything, she told that she has send an email to them to assist me with my problem so that a technician can come urgently and fix my washing machine that is by the way sitting with water in it for two weeks now till today no help has been send. I called again this morning @ 9H35 spoke to a gentleman by the name of Doctor told me he will speak to some one who deals with this issues he will call me back after an hour with feedback, as a typical makro call centre consultant he did not call me back. So I took it upon myself and called back at 11H20 spoke to Sinenhlanhla I asked to be transferred to Doctor she told me she will call him to come to the phone which she did, while I was waiting they hanged up on me 3 times so this Doctor consultant he is intentionally avoiding my calls . What should one do to get help from you people this is unacceptable to treat a customer the way you makro people do . Can I just get some damn help from you . I will be waiting to hearing from you guys or else m taking this complain further.

samsung washing machine
I bought a washing machine with extended warranty. It went faulty while the warranty was still valid. I reported at Markro Silver lakes on the 10th of July they sent a technician from Samsung a week later. The technician said he could not fix it he will report back to Makro for them to make a decision whether to replace it with a new one or order spares. A week later nothing happened I have been sending emails and calling nothing positive happened. Finally only today I was told the technician will come back to fix it in a week's time. Why do we buy extended warranty if can't be helped on time it's been full three weeks without a washing machine. This was second time experiencing problems with electronic items from Makro first it was a TV also struggled to get a refund. Their service is very poor from the head office for authorisation.
Makro doesn't care about their customers at all. No one responds to emails.

On the 3rd of June 2019 I bought some stationeries (order no: MAK2066320) from Makro online which got delivered to my place after three days. But because the design of the item didn't match the display on the website, i had it returned.
Before the return I had to submit photos which i did through emails and then the courier was at my place to collect the item. The collection process was another nightmare so much that i had to call, email and travel several to my nearest Makro to receive help. Mr Hadebe from Makro Woodmead is well aware of my situation.
Now since then i have been waiting for Makro to refund me which has been promises after promises so much that their words are not reliable anymore. After constantly wasting so much aitime to address this issue there is still no positive result at the end of the line from customer service.
On July the 3rd, i had an email from Anthony Vermulen (Makro) assuring me that i will receive the refund back into my account withing 2 -7 working days. Upon realising that it was a false promise, two weeks down the line i called Makro again and after making further enquiries to this matter, i told that the refund is on a "pending" status and none could tell me for sure until when my money would be paid back.

I ordered a smart projector MAK2096858 and wanted to pay for it for 2 days I cannot get payment resolved, I phoned the online number 0860600999 for assistance. I phoned the number at 08:53 on 23/7/2019 for assistance. The orperator said she cannot get her system loaded then couldnt find the order, and eventually told me I must eneter my OTP pin. I expalined I have been trying for 2 days and 15 attempts to process payment the MAKRO SYSTEM SAYS "TECHNICAL ERROR" I was placed on hold and 20 minutes later told I must contact my bank my payment limit is to low. I explained I pay for EVERYTHING online and thats not the issue, placed on hold, 5 minutes later I must send an email and they will check if there is an error. I asked for a manager and have been on hold for another 20 minutes (45 minutes in total with no response from no-one. I tried to load a new profile and try to do the purchase and again unsucessful...still ons hold 50 minutes later! Is this how online customers are treated clearly by a manager that is unavailable? I will take this to Helopeter if I dont get a response by COB. Still holding ...55 minutes...

Delivery not packed, so had to hire a trailer and drive 20 km to Makro Wonderboom
Steven at Online deliveries apologized for mistake and did refund R 90 courier fee, which covered my petrol and tollgates expenses.
However, Saturday is the only day I am in Pretoria, so delivery had to take place on that day. It took 4 hours to hire a trailer, drive to Wonderboom from Brooklyn and back again to collect 10 items to the value of over R 17 000.
The trailer hire cost me R 360 and valuable time lost as was moving my student children into an apartment in Brooklyn.
I did leave a copy of Trailer hire invoice with Steven, who advised he would refer this matter to management.
Bottom line:
I would like to be compensated for trailer hire as delivery never happened and I had to make my own plan, which cost me time and money.
Yesterday, I purchased a TV, R 5500, from my local Makro store at Carnival, as I live in the East Rand. So will continue to support your great store, but very disappointed that delivery was a big let down.
I hope to receive positive feedback as will be back in your store this weekend to buy for supplies for student apartment.

LAST ENTRY TODAY ON HELLOPETER:
Today (8th July 2019) @13:00. I went online to Makro's Online Shopping page, to see if there are any updates on the delivery of my order, placed on the 17th June 2019.
Now i suddenly see, that Makro says that they are waiting for me to make a FURTHER payment on my order, to the amount of R4, 810.84! Which i see now, that they have gone and divided the order up into 4 separate deliveries, instead of the original 3 that they had when i placed the order. Not even one of the people from Makro said anything about the order being delayed, due to outstanding payments of any sort. Nor do they contact me to say when it will be delivered and finalized. I just sit here and wait...what a waste of time!
What the HELL is going on?!?! Makro is now saying that i need to pay more, than the R3, 984.32 that the order cost on the day i placed my order!
Lucky for me...i took pics of the complete order that day, proving the amount and that nothing was/is outstanding for payment, on this order.
I also have the Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone, which recorded each and every phone call to me, from and to Makro. And NO WHERE in ANY of those calls, did anyone state that delivery only can take place, once a further amount of R4, 810.84, is paid!
Right Makro, you have messed with the wrong person!
...oh and BTW, you will ALSO be liable to pay all my Attorney fees...
I will be lodging a complain with the Consumer Board and the Ombudsman aswell today.

I received an email from Makro on the 8th July 2019, stating that they cannot find the beetroot i ordered from them, at any of their branches and will immediately refund me that money. I have given him my banking details. I am still waiting for that refund.
This whole horrible situation with Makro, has caused me so much stress, depression and grief!

I purchased the vacuum cleaner on 02/03/2019 and returned it on 29/03/2019 in its original box with all the fittings some never been used. It stopped working. Notwithstanding the fact that the product comes with a year warranty and another year online extended warranty, I was told that the product will be repaired. I do not want a repaired product, I want the product to be exchanged or to be refunded. Will take this up with the consumer protector if I do not get any joy from the Complaints board.

I bought a Bennett read 22l airfryer oven from makro in December.
The airfryer tripped my electricity in April took it back to makro they sent it in for repairs. On collection of the item I asked what was wrong with it and was told they can't find the job card they will will me with the reason which never happened. On the 8th of June on the birthday of my partner the same happened and was told to bring it in again for repairs.
Now... I ask... Clearly there is a problem with the item..
How can you disadvantage me a second time?
I am extremely furious for the inconvenience and will take this matter to social media as your product is clearly inferior.
I bought your product on the advice of your rep in the first place.
I could have bought a other brand which was cheaper as my daughter in law did and has no problem with.
You need to sort this out urgently I'm taking it to makro this morning and expect a replacement not a repair again.

refund not received
After months of back and forth emails to Martin Hlogwane regarding the refund on mu order MAK1029867, the refund was finally confirmed, but to date, I have not received the funds. Martin forwarded me a proof of payment, but the funds didn't reflect in my account.
After numerous attempts to resolve this matter, I sincerely hope that you will be able to get to the bottom of this issue and the service I have received are extremely disappointing for a well known and loved brand like Makro.
Please assist urgently
