I made online purchase on the 27 May find that some of items where out of stock which were informed me after payment ...on 29 they sent me an email to inform that the refund process is successfully but i didnt receive any fund ,during June i called i called them ...they said the will process it now...so up until now i didnt get my money

O my word, where do I begin. I placed an online order whoch stated they had stock. The 2 days later I get an email no stock and a refund will tale 7 to 14 working days. This to me is fraud. You take my money and have false stock. Keep my money for 14 day as today is the 12th day dont reply to my emails. One of the worst online shops and rude staff i have dealt with.

Makro (online) wrong order and issue with return and refund
Terrible service overall and super pathetic staff at their call centre... in particular Wandile Sibeko, Kenny Moloi, Sibusiso Gaula, Zanokuhoe and Lesedi.
I ordered batteries for my UPS inverter from Makro (Online) everything went well at first until I took delivery of the batteries on the 19th of June 2023 only to realize it was not at all what I ordered. The batteries I received I could have gotten cheaper if I wanted those. It wasn't even the same make as what I ordered and the batteries dimensions was also not at all what was advertised when I ordered them. So on the very same day 19th of June 2023 I requested a return and a refund and had to send an email with photos of my order etc. On Thursday the 22nd of June 2023 the courier collected the items. Now according to makro (online) refunds can take up to 7 working days.
So on Monday the 3rd of July 2023 I thought I should follow up with makro as I have not heard anything as of yet. Only to be told that my refund was approved and the money should reflect in my account the next day. So today 6 July 2023 I thought let me follow up again as I haven't received any payment from makro and/or any communication regarding my refund either.
Only to be told again that my refund has been approved but there will be two payments and I can expect the first payment by the 11th of July 2023 and the second payment by the 17th of July 2023. I then asked to speak to manager or supervisor I was then asked to drop the call as Wandile will be phoning me. So I put the call down expecting her to phone me only to receive an email from Wandile (template email saying that my query was escalated and she is sorry for the inconvenience).
Long story short my issue was not resolved and this was after I spent a total of 143 minutes on the phone. (as you have to hold on as they not able to phone out and if the call drops guess what... you have to phone back because they cant or wont call you back.)
So I will now have to wait and see if I will receive my refund and when. In the meantime I will still have no batteries for my UPS. So let my experience serve as a warning to all to stay away from Makro (Online) in fact after my experience I will never again even step foot in a makro store.
I truly hope my review helps at least one person. As I so wish I checked out makro's online reviews before making use of their service.
Desired outcome: I would just like my full refund of R5600 (Five Thousand Six Hundred Rand) as I would like to buy new batteries for my UPS.
No delivery and poor customer service
I placed an order on 25 June 2023 that to this day has not been completed. I have been following up and complaining for the last 2 weeks. No one at Makro is able to tell me where the rest of my delivery is. There were so many items that were out of stock, after a 2 week fight, I finally got refunded.
The lack of service and responsibility is shocking.
I will absolutely NEVER order from Makro again.
I've read so many similar complaints about Makro online in the last 5 minutes, but this clearly doesn't phase Makro.
If items are paid for, how can you not deliver?

Items canceled on order without consent - MAK4722913
Makro online had canceled items on my order without my consent claiming the items were out of stock. This was despite the items being in stock at the time my order was confirmed. I suspect this was due to them not wanting to fulfill the order as they had made an error with their pricing.
Order confirmed on 28 June 2023 at 10:06. Screenshot below was taken at approx 15:23 the same day.
Desired outcome: If the items were out of stock, Makro should give me the option of waiting till the items are back in stock.
Incorrect item delivered. Price differential of R500 in your favour
I ordered online a Samsung 80cm HD LED TV for R3799.
What was delivered was a Samsung 80cm HD TV advertised on your website for R3299.
A price differential of R500 in your favour if I were to accept the delivery. Clearly fraudulent.
This is not the first time the exact same problem has arisen.

After numerous calls(and time waiting for a call most of the time takes anything from 8 minutes to 25 minutes!) and emails, two reference numbers...still 90% of my order is still outstanding!
This is THE WORST ONLINE SERVICE EVER!
No complaint are followed up... Ashly, Richard, Cornelius, Palesa, Molandre and many more..promised to come back to me ASAP or to see to it that the order is dispatche...NOTHING! Is this an exceptible procedure by MAKRO?

Good day, we bought a stove yesterday and received the delivery from Makro in Stubens Valley. It was a Defy Dualmaster gas/electric stove. We wanted to disconnect the old gas stove and connect the new stove to the gas bottle, but no pipe/cable for the gas, same with the electrical, no cable at all. I bought a cellphone from makro which started giving me numerous problems before the 1 year period... When I took the phone back to the store I was asked to pay for repairs. Which did not make sense to me at all as I am aware of the repair warranty on the phone... I contacted the store makro springfield and the manager Wendy was extremely rude and told me I will not be getting a refund. I have called numerous times with no assistance what so ever... The call center keeps taking my details but no call back the store is also of no assistance. This is such pathetic customer service and I have paid for the item in full.
Desired outcome: I would like the store to assist in my refund on the faulty device as I have purchased a brand new fone whilst awaiting feedback.

I ordered essential food items on 5 may 2023 online from Makro. Makro did not deliver the items until I had to cancel the order on the 22 of May 2023. we spent the whole month without those items if I had knew I would have just bought somewhere else. on 23 May Makro sent an email saying the order have been cancelled and refunded but up until today 12 June 2023 Makro have not refunded the amount owed to me. I called and called now they don't even answer when you call. Makro please refund the amount you awe please. Good morning
I bought a Bennett read 22l airfryer oven from makro in December.
The airfryer tripped my electricity in April took it back to makro they sent it in for repairs. On collection of the item I asked what was wrong with it and was told they can't find the job card they will email me with the reason which never happened. On the 8th of June on the birthday of my partner the same happened and was told to bring it in again for repairs.
Now... I ask... Clearly there is a problem with the item..
How can you disadvantage me a second time?
I am extremely furious for the inconvenience and will take this matter to social media as your product is clearly inferior.
I bought your product on the advice of your rep in the first place.
I could have bought a other brand which was cheaper as my daughter in law did and has no problem with.
You need to sort this out urgently I'm taking it to makro this morning and expect a replacement not a repair again.

Makros customer service is pathetic, incompetent, time and money wasting.
I received the wrong order. I've been trying to get through to customer care only to hold on the line R150 airtime later all my data spent on emails, whatsapp and Facebook to get zero reply or acknowledgement.
I've spent more time and money reaching out than the product itself.
I purchased Bamboo pillows only to receive fiber. It shows that nobody double checked the order. I want a damn refund I'll take my money elsewhere. Pathetic service!

Refund not being paid!
I placed an online order on 25 February 2023. (Online order #MAK4361318)
One item was damaged so I sent it back for an exchange only to receive the exact same broken item back (Reference number RT#[protected])
I then got a call from a very nice gentleman who said that the best way forward would be to get a refund so I agreed. The reference number then changed to #[protected]
on 9 March 2023.
I have sent numerous emails and have called the customer service countless times only to be told that it's "being escalated" and that I cannot speak to someone directly in the accounts department. I have even tried calling the [protected] number and no one ever picks up.
Mbasakazi Gozongo then sends me MY proof of payment for the whole order, telling me that I have been refunded. (Mr G, the customers POP is NOT proof that Makro has refunded me!)
As of today, 8 June 2023, I have still not received my refund and it still shows "in progress" on my returns history.
I have just called Makro back AGAIN and requested to speak to a supervisor. The phone got put down on me
When I email, they just bounce back as though Makro has blocked me. This is TOTALLY unacceptable!

Online order cancelled without refund
Makro SA have had the most awful experience not only did they not honour the advertised price on an item I wanted to purchase, they initially lied and stated it was due to "stock issues", then they backtracked and blamed the supplier for placing the incorrect price on the Web. This is all in bad taste, perhaps if you acknowledged your error instead of passing the buck I would still be a customer.
Not only was a refund forced upon me as they have reneged on their advertised price they still have not processed the refund.
Shocking service Makro and clearly the Consumer Protection Act was created to protect shoppers against bullies like yourself.

I have completed an order online on 27 April 2023, of which was meant to have been a "Sun DC to AC Inverter" and a "AxTech Lithium Ion Battery". I received the wrong brand in terms of the inverter and decided to return both items, of which was both collected. On 08 May 2023 I was refunded for the inverter, and ever since I have not received the refund for the battery. I have called twice prior to today and I was told that the relevant department (Marketplace - they deal with 3rd party sellers) was on both occasions notified and awaiting feedback from the seller. I decided to call yet again today seeing that no one has decided to keep me as the customer in the loop with ANY FEEDBACK with regards to my money that I am waiting for. The 1st customer service agent placed me on hold for nearly 5 minutes after explaining the issue. I ended the call and so behold I yet again explained myself to simply be told that I will get a call back but Siya stated when I asked when that he's not sure... I then asked for a manager or team leader and yet again was I placed on hold for 5 minutes. I called back and yet again explained my issue and asked for a manager or team leader AND YET AGAIN PLACED ON HOLD FOR 5 MINUTES and I ended the call. I have emailed without any reply, I called numerous times without any solutions and everytime I ended the call I actually expected to be called back but NO!

Flat garden hose.
I ordered a flat garden hose at Makro online instead a coil garden hose was delivered, I logged a return online, I was not answered, I call the online customer service they logged a returns call for me I even received an email acknowledging that they are dealing with my matter. A week past still no call, I emailed back and I got an apology that they working on it. Another week passed, I called them, I made more then 4 called and every time I get the same answer that they are working on it and they will call me within 24 hours to make collection and delivery arrangements of the right item. Now I'm being ignored on the emails and also on the whatsapp customer care line. It's been over three weeks now.

On the 19/05/2023 I received my order (15 days prior my order). This item was broken and I requested collection. Today is the 31st of May and no collection and NO REFUND. I have placed an order with Makro online dated the 22 May. According to Makro order tracking its is packed waiting for the courier. I have made a number of calls to the contact Center to get an update on where my order is just to wait forever on the phone for the agent to provide me the same feedback each time. They promise to contact me back and never keep to their promise. I then have to make another phone call and state the whole story over again.
I still have not received my item that I ordered online and have not receive any feedback from Makro online.
I've used multiple channels, like Facebook messenger, Twitter and facebook to get their attention and all is failing to resolve this. I have paid for the item but have not yet received anything.
It is now long past their 2-5 day deliver SLA and there is still no feedback.

An edge cutter was purchased from Makro Woodmead on the 8 April 2023, while using it for the 3rd time it blew. Note this was within the warranty period, maybe a month a abit. We then returned it to the store who then sent it to its maker being Ryobi for repairs who then said we put in the wrong solution when using edge cutter. Our reply being we followed the instructions given and if that was the case it would have broken on the first time using it.
Makro Woodmead then said we need to pay for the repairs as is our fault and the warranty no longer applies. When trying to explain to that we followed the instructions the staff at Woodmead Makro were not very obliging and they were extremely abrupt not willing to listen to reason. I find they have no customer services what so ever. Ryobi supplied no proof to their claims made. We then asked for a refund as one of the product warranty policy's are makro will return or refund the customer. Makro refuses. The edge cutter still sits with Ryobi and Makro does not come back to us on finding a solution to this matter. The head office does not answer their telephones and the call centre is unable to assist as we get told the matter is escalated . Every single day for the past week the matter is being escalated. Ive spoken with Zanele and Lerato and Nonhlalhla etc. But still no reply to this escalation. I find this service provided to be appalling. Note their turn around time is 24 hours. Its been an entire week of me calling every single day...

Midea 7kg front loader machine and poor and efficient service from makro customer care team
I bought the washing machine on the 3rd of August 2022 and it was an online purchase the washing machine was working perfectly until the the 15th of April 2023 I switched on the machine water was running but the machine stopped spinning. That's when I gave Makro online service center a call and I provided all the necessary information an was given this ref number 3071277. Further communication on email with someone from service department was assigned then I was advised there is to come someone collect the unit which that has not be done and everything went jst quite. I have been doing my own follow ups calling each day and sending emails but still nothing. I was given another ref number 3117861 and advised that a manager will give me a call which did not happen. Today is the 10th may 2023 no action has been taken by makro I am so disappointed of the lack off empathy and poor service I am receiving from makro can kindly be assisted as I am out options as the unit is still with me.
