Makro Online Product ID: [protected] - Online order #MAK4426774

Good Afternoon

I would like to log a complaint.

On the 24 March I placed an order for Product ID: [protected]_EA, the website had this item in stock. I received a phone call today advising me that this product is no longer in stock and that I can have the alternative 453257 which has less storage but at the same price.

I am not happy as I now have to go and buy an external hard drive so now, I am having to spend more money. I will be going onto hello Pieter to log this complaint as well.

Makro Online Online order delivery

I placed an online order in your website (MAK3990341 and MAK3990329) last year November and it was short. They did not deliver all of the champagne bottles I ordered. It was short one. I lodged a query with your customer care desk and never got a clear response. Neither was my bottle of champagne replaced. It’s now over 4 months and still nothing.

Desired outcome: I want my bottle of champagne or my money back!

Makro Online Defy 14kg washing machine

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ! 😤😤🤮🤮🤮🤮MKA4393571 , Ref 3004001

I bought a washing machine online on 10/03/2023 which was delivered on 15/03/2023 however we noticed that the washing machine had a dent and the cord appeared to be burnt .

The following day I logged a call advising of the defaults and I was advised to send pictures and so I did . Considering the 48 hours turn around time for Makro respond , no acknowledgment of receipt of email . I called in again and the consultant bluntly said they didn’t receive anything - we reconfirmed email address and it turned out that the emails were correct . Towards the end of the he indicated that they managed to locate the emails and will escalate the query however till date nothing has come to fruition instead all I’m getting are promises from one agent to the another .

Yesterday 24/03/2023 I spoke to Nthabiseng at 10:00 am who promised to call back after consulting the general manager and operational manager, 2 hours later I had to call in because I didn’t receive any call nor update.

I spoke to Maleko Matsweni who promised to call and indeed called back however I missed her calls and when I returned her call I was told she was on lunch and was transferred to the appliance department manager who liaised(2:30-3:00pm) with the online manager on my behalf and was again promised that they will call me since the matter is receiving attention however such call was not made to me .

It’s disappointing to see how inconsiderate MAKRO is :

If I don’t call in to follow up , no one bothers to provide an update.

The amount of airtime wasted being put on hold and thereafter being sent from pillar to post and there’s still no solution.

We are heading to the second week after I purchased the machine but I still cannot utilise it, the laundry is piling up .

Makro Online Poor customer service by far.

I have been trying to get my order delivered since 8am today.

Been calling your contact center with no assistance. The given crourier guy won't deliver to the given address which is not my fault as a customer.

I have been waiting to receive a call from the Team leader on duty “Sifiso Sibya” and the Marketing team for 2 hours to rearrange delivery and still no response.The previous sales consultant that was assigned to me rudely handed up the phone call.

Makro Online Online purchase - delivery still received

I purchased 2 items online. The 1 item was scheduled for delivery on a Saturday which I could not accept as it was to be delivered to my work address, so I requested delivery for the Monday. Monday the goods were not delivered, this was escalated and waiting another day. Tuesday when I contacted the customer service, was advised that they had not had feedback from the courier company and would escalate it again. No delivery or contact made with me by the courier or Makro as a follow up or confirmation of when my item would be delivered. When I called Wednesday morning, was told the same thing, but this time that they would ask their team leader to get involved and revert back to me. It is almost close of business and I still have not had any feedback or a phone call as to when I can expect my item, thus making it day 3 (36 hours) and I am no closer to receiving my parcel. the service is absolutely shocking, and to say the least, if this is the courier service holding up the process they are giving Makro a bad name. Very UNHAPPY!

Makro Online Claim ref. 2996561

Good day,

I purchased a washing machine (Defy) and a dishwasher in 2021, I took out an extended warranty on both items. My washing machine is faulty, the last cycle do not want to complete, it gives me an error.

I phoned [protected] and spoke to Karabo, I was asked all my details Id number card number adress etc. The lady clearly indicated that how could I ask what my policy number is? I do not understand why she is so rude to me. I just want my washing machine fixed. I paid for a warranty and know I get this service. This is utterly unproffesional and I am very dissapointed at this stage.

Desired outcome: I want my defy washing machine fixed.

Makro Online Bennett read tough 12 wet and dry vacuum cleaner

On the 01/03/2023, I bought the Bennet Read Tough 12 wet and dry Vacuum cleaner which was highly recommended by their salesperson. Yesterday I took the vacuum back because the pipe cracked when I was vacuuming the carpet. I was told that they cannot accept the product back as its user negligence. Hussein gave me the stainless-steel pipe as it was stronger than the plastic pipe. Then I requested him to show me how to remove and replace the wet and dry floor nozzle attachment and he was struggling to remove it.(Please check the video in the store, I was there from 16:45 till 17:30) I then asked him as the customer what would happen if I forcefully removed this and ended up breaking the nozzle as the material is not as strong as they claim it to be His excuse was that he does not have nails hence he used the keys to open it. My query is if I broke it whilst trying to remove it at the end of the day it will be my problem as he also cautioned me not to use force as these attachments are not strong and they break easily. Based on his statement and the experience that I had I am not willing to keep this device. I would like Makro to intervene on my behalf and request for the refund on my behalf. Tevo sold me lies the quality is not what they said it is and this was also confirmed by Hussein's statement that I must not use force as these breaks easily. Makro should remove these products from their stores as Tevo is ripping off customers on their hard-earned money.

Makro Online As per MAK 4283192, online order since 30 Jan 2023

No receipt of my goods as ordered nor refund.

I require a resolution ASAP.

Pathetic service, numerous calls and follow ups with no resolution to date being the 08th Mar 2023 - A whole 37 days later for monthly groceries.

Called the national call center and spoke to Ashley at the makro national contact center where we still do not have a response from JHB Riversands Makro store - @13h19 on the 08th Mar 2023.

Highly disappointed Rayan Govender.

Makro Online Gentech hybrid inverter-backenfell cape gate Makro

i bought a gentech hybrid convertor at Makro Brackenfell in December 2022 did not even have the unit a month it caught on fire. leaving my household traumatized.it was just outside the 14 day return policy of makro and they refused to refund me ,but replaced the unit .i still have not collected it for i don't want it in my house again. What if my house burnt down. I want a refund and they refuse

Placed order on the 14th Feb. Next say received notification package split in 2.
2 days later notification: Makro - Order Delayed
Your Makro Order MAK4326984 : Dear Zenobia, we apologize as there has been a delay with your order. We are working hard on it and will notify you as soon as the order is ready. Should you have any queries, kindly contact our help center on [protected].

Cool no stress but then on the 18th at 10:46 am, delivery date scheduled received email stating cancelled order. At 21:49 Emailed back and got a response from online department on 20th. We apologize for not informing you of shortage. At this point, I'm pissed. Imagine waking up for night shift to find this message. Instead of order. Why waste a person time. Could have gone in-store and got it already like Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. No Saturday 18th delivery scheduled to be told canceled. Waking up thinking package came instead find this email. I'm upset

Like what now. Only resort now is to wrap an empty box and give the recipient with a big note. From makro's online department to you, a big F... you. Enjoy your day
Pissed like hell

As a group of 5 friends, we decided that this would be the perfect gift for a wedding, as both parties loved their home bar. 3 of us decided that due to night shift online shopping would be best and I was to place the order. So excited that we told the parties concerned and they too were looking forward. Let's say we were bragging about it as it was so awesome to find such an item at that price. Excitedly waited for package which didn't come and had to show face at wedding on 19th😒. Didn't go well. Whole time red faced. Empty handed and gutted. No time to get a gift due to hours of work

Imagine my disappointment when the other 2 pulled out their gift which got delivered but mine didn't. Same item. Would have been 3 in total. My group just was let down and let's say wasn't the best of times. Empty handed and embarrassed. Our reputations, especially mine was gutted.

Makro Online Refund on product bought online in December 2022.

I bought a small generator, Ryobi 650 W 2-stroke petrol generator which was later sent back because it wouldn’t start up and had a leakage.

The generator was collected in December 2022, I have been calling for my refund ever since, I spoke to so many agents and they all tell me that my refund has been loaded in the system and they don’t know why I still haven’t received my money. Every time they promise to follow up with their finance department and promise to call back and they never do. I am so sick of their pathetic service.

Desired outcome: Worst service ever. No one has ever called back and my money has not been refunded still.

Makro Online Refund Service

I had purchased goods on the 03/01

I was then notified on the 05/01 there was no stock and asked for a full refund I was told the refund would be done within 10 working day.

10 days passed and I followed up... No something went wrong wait another 10 days...

It has been 2 months and still getting the same email that someone will contact me and no one does.

This has been the worst experience when I have no funds available to even put fuel in my car and makro refuses to refund me.

Desired outcome: I want my refund immediate payment

Makro Online Treadmill TR510

Good day

I order a treadmill online. Delivery was made on the 15/02/2023. After set up as per manual, the treadmill is giving me an E02 error code that indicates motor faulty. After calling customer care, the logged a return. But said I need to do it online. But online it shows that my order is only still in transit.
I need answers and they are not giving me answers. I need a treadmill, I paid so much money for something that is not working.
They are playing for time. I need asap assistance.

Makro Online Incorrect toy delivered after online order

In January I ordered a toy for my son's birthday in July. It was delivered on time but I only opened the box a week later to show it to my husband. It was the incorrect toy. I emailed Makro Customer service with screenshots on the 12th of February and received a reply from David Mabena on the 13th of February advising that my complaint had been escaescalated to the correct department. I have emailed Makro every day since and not received even an acknowledgement response. I have also Facebook messengered Makro - no reply. This was urgent because there were few left of the correct toy, which I cannot find elsewhere. The toy is now sold out and I want a collection and a refund. But no response.

Makro Online Poor Customer Service

Really frustrated with Makro, placed an online order that never got delivered, then spoke to multiple people Zewi Phiri, promised to call back in 10 minutes, never called back. Received a call from Theodora Manuka who confirmed on 8 Feb that a refund is being processed on the day, now on 13 Feb your driver tries to deliver, and the refund has not been processed as the order has not been cancelled. I will never shop with Makro again.

Makro Online Playstation 5

Bought a play station 5 on 09 September 2023. Returned it to Makro Meadowdale Germiston on 30 November 2023 for communication mulfunction. I Didn' get feedback about the progress of the PlayStation I decided to visit the branch on 2 Feb 2023 to find out about the progress, only to be told that the person who opened the job card is not at work. I went back to Makro and I was told that the person who took the play station forgot to open a job card whe he returned the product to supplier and now the supplier cannot trace the product without a job number. I'm very much disappointed and I need a new PlayStation urgently. it is almost 2 and half months now waiting for my play station and I don't get feedback unless I go to the branch.

Desired outcome: I need my play station to be replaced

Makro Online Online order not received

Online order placed on 25 January early morning. Email received stating delivery by 30 January or 2-5 working days. Update received on 30 January (5 days) that my order has been handed to the courier, Time Freight, which has been closed for 3 years. I followed up on 1 February, operator indicated that they will come back to me. I followed up again on 2 Feb via the chat bot and received feedback that my parcel is with Dawn Wing. I contacted Dawn Wing but was unable to locate my parcel.

I phoned the customer care line once again on 2 Feb. The operator indicated that the communication I received was wrong and that my parcel is still at the store (8 days later). The expected dispatch date is 7 Feb (13 days). I could cancel the order but refunds take an approximate 10 working days.

So, I need to wait at least 13 days for an item that I paid for to hopefully be delivered or wait 18 days to be refunded.

This is unacceptable.

Desired outcome: I need my parcel urgently and would like accurate, honest and timely updates. I still do not know when I will receive my parcel

Makro Online Sunday delivery

I placed an order on Friday (27/01/2023). The estimated arrival date was the 01/02/2023. Also advised that the delivery take 3 - 5 working days. I didn't have a problem with that because I also provided my work address and I also work Monday to Friday. To my shock on a Sunday while I was at church I received an sms saying the driver is on his way to deliver my order. I was waiting for their phone call but I didn't receive any. After few minutes I received another text message saying the delivery has failed, I think that's because I was not at work gates were closed. Now when I track it it show as a pick to Makro store in Ottery. That's not my fault that they decided to make Sunday a working day. If I have to take off day tomorrow and go collect it myself it's going to be a problem because I really need that laptop school are now open. Order no. MAK4276307

Desired outcome: Since I'm planning to go fetch it tomorrow myself, pay me. I will take off day at work use my money and travel to Makro at Ottery

Makro Online Skyworth 65" smart uhd android tv

On 20/06/2020 I bought Skyworth 65" Smart UHD Android TV, Invoice No 775.
I was told this TV carries a 3-year warranty which ends on the 20/06/2023.
TV became faulty and on the 20/12/2022 I logged a call with Makro customer care and was given Ref2849488.
I was informed it will take 3to 4 days for the technician to come to my place and repair the TV.
On the 23/12/2022 I received an email from Makro, Zwelakhe Mnguni. The email provided me with a job number ID8000130265, it also indicated that the TV will be collected from my place. He also informed me that Makro service provider CN Tronics is closed for holidays and will reopen on the 03/01/2023.

On the 04/01/2023 I called Makro call centre and spoke to Ms Mlambo, I explained that we only have one TV at home and since nothing is happening with the faulty TV I need a loan TV, she indicated that its beyond her control Makro does not loan TV customers.
On the 10/01/2023 I sent an email to Makro care complaining about this situation and to date I have not received any response from Makro

Again the 14/01/2023 I went to Makro Amanzimtoti and spoke to the manager Mr Jay Govender who indicated to me that the ref number I had does not appear on the system and therefor he will log a new call for me. On that day I took the faulty TV to Makro and he said he won't accept it and that I should wait for CN tronics to contact me.
On the 18/01/2022 I received a call from Mathews who called me from Cloud Logistics in Jhb and asked if the TV was collected or not, I indicated it wasn't collected and he promised to call their Dbn branch and get back to me.

Today the 31/01/2023 I just received another call from Mathews and indicated that I should wait for a call from his Durban branch.
When I bought this TV, Makro never mentioned a third party to me (CN Tronics) and that I might not have a TV for the period of over 1 month without anyone communicating with me.
My family have been living without TV before Christmas of 2022 and I've been sent from pillar to post, over one month to be precisely.
