Sunday delivery
I placed an order on Friday (27/01/2023). The estimated arrival date was the 01/02/2023. Also advised that the delivery take 3 - 5 working days. I didn't have a problem with that because I also provided my work address and I also work Monday to Friday. To my shock on a Sunday while I was at church I received an sms saying the driver is on his way to deliver my order. I was waiting for their phone call but I didn't receive any. After few minutes I received another text message saying the delivery has failed, I think that's because I was not at work gates were closed. Now when I track it it show as a pick to Makro store in Ottery. That's not my fault that they decided to make Sunday a working day. If I have to take off day tomorrow and go collect it myself it's going to be a problem because I really need that laptop school are now open. Order no. MAK4276307

Skyworth 65" smart uhd android tv
On 20/06/2020 I bought Skyworth 65" Smart UHD Android TV, Invoice No 775.
I was told this TV carries a 3-year warranty which ends on the 20/06/2023.
TV became faulty and on the 20/12/2022 I logged a call with Makro customer care and was given Ref2849488.
I was informed it will take 3to 4 days for the technician to come to my place and repair the TV.
On the 23/12/2022 I received an email from Makro, Zwelakhe Mnguni. The email provided me with a job number ID8000130265, it also indicated that the TV will be collected from my place. He also informed me that Makro service provider CN Tronics is closed for holidays and will reopen on the 03/01/2023.
On the 04/01/2023 I called Makro call centre and spoke to Ms Mlambo, I explained that we only have one TV at home and since nothing is happening with the faulty TV I need a loan TV, she indicated that its beyond her control Makro does not loan TV customers.
On the 10/01/2023 I sent an email to Makro care complaining about this situation and to date I have not received any response from Makro
Again the 14/01/2023 I went to Makro Amanzimtoti and spoke to the manager Mr Jay Govender who indicated to me that the ref number I had does not appear on the system and therefor he will log a new call for me. On that day I took the faulty TV to Makro and he said he won't accept it and that I should wait for CN tronics to contact me.
On the 18/01/2022 I received a call from Mathews who called me from Cloud Logistics in Jhb and asked if the TV was collected or not, I indicated it wasn't collected and he promised to call their Dbn branch and get back to me.
Today the 31/01/2023 I just received another call from Mathews and indicated that I should wait for a call from his Durban branch.
When I bought this TV, Makro never mentioned a third party to me (CN Tronics) and that I might not have a TV for the period of over 1 month without anyone communicating with me.
My family have been living without TV before Christmas of 2022 and I've been sent from pillar to post, over one month to be precisely.

Refund
Only made 2 orders. On both items were cancelled. I then had to send so many emails and make so many phone calls to try and get my refund. First one took weeks. They did not refund back to my bank account but online credit. The second order's refund I am now waiting since the 1st of December 2022. Today is the 31st of January 2023. They simply are not coming back to me. Ignoring all my mails. If I do speak to them on the phone, then they are so apologetic and promises to sort it out. Well its all lies. Don't waste your time on ordering from them.
It has been 4 months now and still no refund. Numerous emails and calls and nothing. Makro are thieves who steal your money. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
2.7kg new era breast fillets
I saw 3 boxes of 2.7kg New Era breast fillets advertised for R340 on Cataloguespecials.co.za, Then I went to Wonderboom Makro they refused to sell them to me with that price.According to their Pamphelt is 2 for R340.
The manager said they don't use online advertisement they only use printed adverts. They only gave me 2 boxes instead of 3.
This happened on the 30th January 2023 around 12:30.
Desired outcome: Give me the 3rd box like i saw in the advertisement
TV not delivered
I placed an online order for a TV on the 24th of jan and according to the confirmation email I would receive it on the 28th,the TV never arrived and the has never been any communication or update sent to me regarding my order, I called on the 29th to try and get some update on the status of my order but was given a run around and eventually kept on the line for a long time with no assistance as to what's happening with my order, I sent an email but still no reply, I went on their Twitter page to ask for an update but was only given an apology and no concrete update. Desired outcome: I would like for the Item to be delivered or Atleast a real update on what's happening with the order or when I will be receiving it
Refund
I ordered two laptops last year July to which one was working perfectly and the other one wasn't switching on upon arrival. I realized that the other laptop was not working and emailed them to have it repaired. They sent a courier guy to pick up the laptop and when it returned from repairs the screen was broken. I was then annoyed as to why they would send a faulty laptop still when it's supposed to be brand new. I notify them that they sent a laptop with a broken screen and that I do not want it but I want my money back. They drag the situation but eventually say that they will refund me. The initial bank account I had used to purchase the items was closed however I provided accurate banking details in which the money can be refunded into and I alerted them from the beginning of the change in bank accounts to avoid any mistakes. They refunded the money I to the old account which I had made sure to notify them that it was closed countless times and provided new banking details. I then had to provide proof of closure of the account and that no money was received and they still are yet to refund me. I have been waiting for 8 months now and I still haven't received my refund. They fail to provide any proof of payment to show that I have been refunded and keep making me seem like a fool telling me to inquire with my bank when there are no funds that entered into my account. I have emailed and called many times, it has gotten to the point where they do not even respond to my emails or pick up my calls. I don't know what to do as I'm a student who saved up for months on end to get a laptop to work better but now I have been pulled back and disadvantaged because of them. They even blocked me off their email address and I can't send any emails to makro anymore.
Desired outcome: I would like my refund back. I just want my money as I have wasted too much money trying to call and email to get my money back.
Refund overdue by 3 months
The lady I dealt with at the refunds counter at Makro Montague Gardens accidentally made my refund online but not cash. She said it would be in my account 7 days later. It's been 3 months. I have emailed everyday and got one response with no resolution except that they are looking into it. I called customer care who told me I must email after being on hold for the better part of 20 minutes. I worked out it was an issue as I didn't have the same card any longer. Even though I worked out the issue myself, I have followed the steps and emailed my account details - no resolution. I have then emailed numerous times asking for a follow up on my issue and get a different person responding on the same thread every time a rarely do get a response! I ask for a follow up and a snarky reply saying that the previous email was a follow up. And still absolutely no resolution. I want my money back!
Desired outcome: I would like my refund.
Cancelation/refund
On the 12/12/2022 I placed an order MAK4128601 expected delivery date was 16/12/2022 on the 19th the delivery had not been delivered yet. On the 21st I called and was given the run around by call center agents asked to be called by supervisor when they are available but never got that call. On the 22nd called the call center again and spoke to Nkateko (supervisor) who escalated and promised to call the next day with feedback. 23rd she called advised delivery of parcel during the day and even gave me the drivers number to check what time he would deliver as I was leaving for the holidays and this was my son's Christmas present. When I called the driver who was still at dispatch he advised that he didn't have my parcel with him when he enquired he was told the parcel was with Dawn and not Wudrop. I then called the call center again frustrated and advised the agent to cancel the order and was advised turn around time of 14 working days and ask Nkateko to call me as it seems that no one knew where my parcel was or when it would be delivered. I went and bought another gift for my son. On the 28th delivery guy called saying they at my gate to deliver I canceled the order and no one is home. On the 29th called the call center to verify if indeed my order is canceled or what was told its canceled. On the 9th I called for feedback cause on system it still shows order still in process, agent said they escalating to finance and turn around time is 3 working days. On the 14th I called for feedback and agent told me it was escalated no feedback asked to speak to supervisor after holding on the call for 30 minutes for supervisor was advised that Sifiso/Sipho would call me once they done with the other call with feedback. On 16th I called and was put on hold for supervisor and call got cut, I called again and asked to speak to supervisor and call got cut again.
Can my matter please get urgent attention.

Returned incorrect order delivered
Good afternoon
We have been phoning and were promised for feedback.
The attached parcel was returned as only one parcel received with the incorrect sizes of the candles requested. My child ordered two different size candles but received only one wrong size not even matching one of the orders.
The wedding is upcoming and we require the candles urgently. The payment was made and Makro is sitting with the funds but we cannot get assistance with the correct order. The correct orders was done on 2 different requests, copies attached.
We need 2 parcels. I spoke to Thabo ON 10/11/2022, no feedback received. My daughter sent an email and received a reply to log the return on the Makro site which she did. Courier Guy collected the returned parcel. She received another email today advising her so log the return again. There is not another parcel to be returned as Courier Guy already collected the parce. This is really bad service

Order outstanding since 23 Nov 2022
I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through on my online order with Makro, placed on November 23rd, 2022.
Despite the order being paid, confirmed, and processed, it was split into four different courier services and the items are still outstanding. I have made countless calls, sent emails, and filed online disputes, all to no avail. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue, the order still has not been delivered and when I requested a refund for the items, I have received no response or feedback. My calls and emails are continuously escalated, with no resolution in sight.
I have reached a point where I don't know how to proceed with further communication as every call, email, and reference number goes unanswered. It's been three months since the order was placed, and the status still shows it being packed since November 23rd, 2022. I have been given empty promises from Makro that they are experiencing problems with the courier service Dawn Wing and have since switched couriers, but still have not received my package or refund.
I am exhausted from the constant follow-up, calls and emails with no proper feedback or resolution
Midea washing machine still under warranty requires urgent repair-makro does not respond
I bought a Midea 13kg top loader washing machine in December 2021 from Makro Port Elizabeth. 2.5 weeks ago it stopped spinning and I have been telephoning Makro’s customer centre every second day and they keep telling me the repair request has been escalated - but here I still am with a broken machine! I phoned again this morning and they struggled to find my Reference Number? What kind of service is this - absolutely disgusting…. To say I am furious doesn’t even begin to describe it! I have a family of four and going without is washing machine is pretty much impossible. Please someone contact me today!

Incorrect item delivered
Order MAK4116362 i ordered a TV Bracket and received a Tv modulator instead, i called Makro Customer
The Incorrect item was collected. never received my confirmation nor did i receive the actual item i purchased. NO REFUND WAS RECEIVED EITHER.
I sent several emails with pictures of the incorrect item to your customer service & online support emails. I called in several times which calls are recorded so why is this not yet resolved?

Delivery still not recieved after 2 months
I have odered a fridge on the 6 of november 2022, today is the 2nd of january 2023 i still havent recieved any communication from makro, they are not answeing the phone or emails.. Last time i received any form of communication from them its on the 15th of november 2022 since then, nothing, no email or call. No nothing, 2-3 days i guess they meant 2-3 months.
Desired outcome: I WANT MY WHAT I HAVE ODERED AND PAY FOR ALL THE WAITING,TIME AND MONEY WASTED.
Refund not received
Placed an order 23 November 2022 online with Makro and the other item was not available and was advised it will be refunded. I have sent emails and called and all the time I'm told it had been escalated to the Finance Dept.Now a month later and more more than allowing 10 days of their refund policy still no refund has been received in my bank account.Feedback is the same, escalated and I must wait , such an inconvenience and inconsiderate business practice for me as a customer.
Desired outcome: Their Finance Dept to refund my money asap & they can carry on coaching their staff or training them or investigate whatever happened as that's not my problem!

On the website the delivery indicates that I will receive my order within 2-5 workings days however I waited for almost 2 weeks. This inconvenienced me as I was going to a function and really need to receive my order in time.
The what's chat was not helpful as ot was automated and also spoke to an advisor on line who could not give me sounds reasons why is my order taking forever.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experience and I will ensure that friends and family's is aware about your bad online service.
Desired outcome: I need to be compensated for the customer journey and inconvenienced i have endured.
Poor customer service and pathetic courier service
MAK4126811 - I placed my order on 11 December 2022 and delivery stated 2-5 working days. On working day 6 I called Makro regarding the delivery of the 7 piece dining room table, the consultant advised that Makro would escalate the matter with the Courier service, and I didn't receive any feedback. On working day 9 (22 December 2022), the day before we had tenants moving into the property, I called DPD Laser courier service multiple times, they keep you on hold for 20 mins and then the line goes dead. After that I called Makro again and again I got told that the consultant would escalate the case and someone would contact me, and I am still waiting. After attempting all the calls, I sent an email to the couriers and 2 hours later I got a reply email stating that the product had been declared damaged and Makro had been notified and someone from Makro would call me regarding a replacement.
I called Makro and the consultant said that the system is still showing as "handed over to couriers" and she would escalate it to the courier service.
I am still waiting for any communication from Makro or the Courier service.
Highly disappointed in the service I have received.
Desired outcome: Delivery of the product as soon as possible or at least clear communication about the way forward.
Order not delivered
Placed online order on 25th Nov 22 for a bicycle for my sons birthday and not delivered MAK4069278 for collection at cornubia store. They called me a week later to say there's no stock at the store, but they have sourced it from another store and will deliver to me. Tried calling numerous times and spoke to agents twice but still no delivery and they don't call back to update me as promised.
It's my son's birthday on boxing day and we are going away for Christmas and I find myself at the mercy of makro having to try to call everyday holding on the line hoping for an agent to pick up my call to get an update.
That's quite pathetic and not the type of stress I need while planning for a holiday, especially considering that I planned well and purchased the gift a month in advance.
So someone please help me get the bicycle or give me my money back so I can buy the bicycle somewhere else.

Delay in Refund
I am very disappointed with Makro after being a customer of them for years.
I ordered a stove on the 24 November! It arrived with the glass smashed out.
I sent it back and was told I would get a refund.
It is now nearly Christmas and I don't have a stove. I have been without one for almost a month and Makro just doesn't care.
When I placed the order, the money was transferred immediately. Now that I have to get a refund, you are dragging your feet and delaying.
Issue my refund to my RCS card before I take this further!

Never received my order
I am waiting for a reply! I haven’t even received any communication That my email was acknowledged and I will be receiving my refund or when?!
This has been a battle for 18 days for me and the nonchalantness is extremely unprofessional!
The sale was made in the 2nd of December, under false pretense that you had stock on the App Store! There was no stock and just to keep the sale it went through. (Which I found out later after the many calls made)
I then received a sms that the package was handed over to the courier company, I waited another 7 days and still no package delivered. I had to get someone to call and trace where my tv actually was. After many calls she got the number of the courier service and after waiting on that call for over 20mins did she speak to Matthew, who assured her that the tv is with him and will be delivered tomorrow, which was Friday (16th December) the public holiday!
The 16th came and went! Another call had to be made the 17th and then spoke with Zanele who confirmed there was no stock and nothing had been handed to any courier company!
This makes no sense to me!
After a refund was requested all of a sudden I received this email saying that there is magically stock!
I have had to ask other people to call your customer care line which took many calls of holding for over 20 minutes at a time! I have all the call logs and proof!
there was another customer care consultant named Richard who also said that he would get their team leaders to check on this matter, but nobody did.
I then sent another person to another store yesterday, to buy the tv while this matter gets sorted out. (Carnival makro JHB) as this was suppose to be a surprise and a birthday gift.
(paid for 2 tvs only received on and no sign of a refund for the other!)
The tv doesn’t have an App Store nor does it allow you to download Disney+ (Hisense 55’), she is back at the store in jhb (Carnival makro) now,
(19th December 2022 at 09h30) wanting to CHANGE the tv and your staff is talking about another two week assessment! ABSOLUTELY INSANE! (Returns department) the sale was made for a higher price LG and while the paperwork was being done the price was changed on the floor! They expected her to pay that price. Luckily she took a pic of it for me with the price display before they decided to change it!
If I have to take this to social media I will as well as hello Peter and where ever else I can.
I am not even in SOUTH AFRICA and decided to buy a birthday gift for someone and this is the type of service provided by your company! This entire experience has been dreadful and the birthday surprise ruined thanks to your poor customer service!

Online order not received
Good day, I would like to follow up on an online order that placed 23 November 2022. We have not received anything yet and it's nearly Christmas! The order was made through Cape gate but when we went there it was a whole blame game between them, Montagu gardens branch and Bloemfontein. We don't care where or what, we just want our order as we paid for it. Order number:MAK4042075. Really hope this can be resolved as everyone is just lieing to us and not taking responsibility for the mess up.
