Brought my 2016 Volvo XC60 in for an inspection on August 30. After dropping it off I received a call that all my brakes were 80% worn and I needed all 4 rotors. About a month ago I replaced all the rotors and breaks. Just got back from Volvo, brakes are at 9 millimeters and rotors are new. I have heard of places doing this but I or my family has been going to Mavis for better then 30 years. Not happy and I will let everyone I come in contact with know of this scam.

On 8/19/2019 I went online and made a daytime 3 hour turnaround appt. to have my brakes checked for 8/22/2019. About an hour later I received a phone call from a Mavis representative confirming my appointment.
On 8/22/2019 I dropped my car off at 6am prior to work. Problem one was there was no key drop off. I had to leave my car open and keys in it. I was not happy!
At 9am I called to confirm they got my car. They had no clue my car was even there or what to do with it. I explained the above and they said no problem they would get it in and call me when they look at it.
Problem 2 - they didn't have a clue that my car was there or what to do with it.
At 11am I received a phone call that they checked my brakes and I did need them replaced. I approved the work and told them I would be there after work at 3:30 to pick up. They stated no problem it will be done in an hour.
At 3:40 when I arrived my car was still on the lift. I went in and asked for my car. One of the employees went out to check on the status. He came back and said it would be another 20 minutes.
Problem 3 - What happened to the 3 hour turnaround, what happened to "it will be done in an hour".
At 4:15 I finally got my car. Problem 4 they made me a half hour late for my dinner engagement and there was no apology.
The next day driving my car home I heard my brakes making a noise. Then again on Saturday they sounded worse then when I brought my car in.
Problem 5 - did he change my brakes, did he put the old back on, did he put new parts but install wrong? Now I do not feel safe at all driving my car.
Problem 6 - I noticed on Friday that even though I gave them a discount coupon for 89.99 they only gave me a discount for 54.00.
On Friday I did call the customer service department and complain but I did not realize that my brakes were making a noise that morning. I spoke to a very nice representative, Brianna, who said she would pass the information to the regional manager and I should receive a call by this coming Monday the 26th. I leave the 25th for vacation to NC, good thing someone else can drive since my car is not safe to drive that distance. I'm writing this even though I called because of the additional complaint of the noise and not knowing if my brakes are old/new, installed properly or not.

My desired resolution - First I should be refunded the amount of money they did not discount me - $35.
Secondly I feel that I should be compensated for the half hour I had to sit and wait for a car that they had all day - so half of the hourly labor rate would do.
Thirdly I need my brakes checked to see if they were really changed and if they were installed properly. The problem with this is I do not want to take it back to the pawling location because I do not trust them. Plus wherever I take it I am now going to have to sit and wait for it (more inconvenience) so I can see for myself what was or was not done. Obviously I need to monitor the work. I can't state completely what resolution I am looking for because that will depend on what is found when the brakes are checked. If not changed and the old put back I want a full refund and i will take my car elsewhere that is reliable to have my brakes done. If they were installed incorrectly I am still not sure I trust Mavis, at least the Pawling site, to fix them. Again this one will have to be discussed once the end result is determined.
So hopefully the regional manager calls me on Monday or that will be another problem added to this complaint.

4 months ago I purchased brand new tires with warranty I have done my breaks at Navi's I have other vehicles that get serviced there in so taken back and upset with the less than half of a job I received yesterday. I expressed I don't know what Is going on so I need assistance I bought my vehicle because of a bubble in the pass back I asked will all four tires be checked I was assured by Reggie and the District manager Hussein that I was going to be fine they were going to do everything to tel me how much of an estimate had I had to replace it I take an Uber there from my lunch break an Uber back to work and an Uber to pick the vehicle up costing me 54. Dollars I get a call great news we found a screw your tire doesn't have to be replaced I said wow thanks did they check the other tires I was told they did I just have to pick up my car I go in I swear I hope you guys have microphone I asked again when I went I. To get my keys Hussein wasn't there at this time hi did they check all the tires yes they did okay great thanks to home today I get to work again and the same individual who I asked yesterday morning to put air in my tire prior to calling or going into mavis told me I had a bubble so I say hi good morning I fixed the tire he said you can't fix that he than proceeds to show me what he is referring to I than see a bubble and a cut in the tire the tire isn't punctured that the air is coming out but it is damaged there brand new tires I asked for some guidance I couldn't even get that I asked for help from this location who's speciality is tires I got a half job done I feel disrespected and unsafe I put my son in the vehicle if the tire pops after they said they checked it and clearly it was never even looked at there's no way anybody who works on cars would allow me to drive my car with a damaged tire In the event god forbid something we're to happen to me or my child as a result of the tire not being checked properly and my receipt states that it was I will be seeking legal advice this is unfair unsafe and I feel like if they didn't want to check they didn't have to lie the worst part is I call today the same office and speak to a man named Paul who disregarded anything I said and responded with well I don't know what your talking about Hussein is not here I can't help you on the phone. Your ad claims that you will not be best on tire pricing. I went to Ledgewood today with a firm price quote from BJ's tire center and the Mavis agent came up with a higher price for the exact same tires. Apples to apples. I even asked for. Military veteran discount but she said that her price was discounted as much as possible. The price different by $20.00 higher but your false claim is that you will not be beat and even that you would match the price. Shame on Mavis and you should consider rewording your statement . This is considered false advertising. Now, where do I take this?

I bought two expensive tires in June 7, 2019 and another two in August 8, 2019 from you guys the next day I got a flat tire in the ground tire. Brought my truck back that day at 5 pm on a Thursday which you close at 830 pm and they couldn't fix it that day. Larry claimed they will fix it by 8 am and by 1130 am the next day the tire was not fixed yet ! The truck was not looked at it at all. I spent over $1, 000 for all four tires and have a warranty on the tires too and these people can't fix my car when they promised to fix it ! What is wrong with your company! I've been trading in this facility for over 14 years . First with Summerfield then Tire Construction and now Mavis.
I went to have a inspection done on my car and was told a needed an appointment for service and the first available would be Monday.
I've never had to have an appointment for anything and have always been a walk-in .

I dropped off my car off in the Morning at 815am which I explained to them that what I was doing.they opened at 8. Needed new tires an oil change and to check pads. They told me that it was going to take just a couple of hours. They knew what tires I was looking at I was already in the system. Left the car. And I did t hear back at all. I called them at 2:30 and ask they told me that they backed up and haven't t even looked at the car yet. They could have called me but I called them. I called back in an hour and still no resolve. Finally called me at 515. And said that i needed new brakes rotors and calipers and wheel alignment. Now the place is closing in ten minutes. She told me I have to wait till tomorrow and now I don't have a car. For work that day or tomorrow. I am very upset and angry with the people there. And I still don't have my car back. Trying to charge me 1300 dollars for all this work done. Never again. Won't ever come back I called corporate and complained have to speak to mike Lopez.

I called first thing in the morning on 8/5/19 to schedule a oil change for my 2015 Volkswagen Jetta tdi, telling them about the specific oil recommendations and that the car is a diesel . The man on the phone a-shored me no Problem, we get the parts next door . I get there 1:15 appointment is for 1:30 next door doesn't have oil or filter has to be ordered. Isn't this why I called you at 9:00 am ? Ok I give them oil I carry in trunk order me a filter which is a 1hr away here I sit at 2:30 car still hasn't been pulled in too perform the oil change. I went to the local store and they said they would inspect the brake system. They said it needs a front brake package. No problem.
Now a week late the back brakes are grinding. Now the vehicle is on the lift and taken apart and I am told that I need brakes, pass rotors and calipers. $995.
Why was this not found the week before. I drove about 250 miles during the week.
This is totally a rip off. They inspected the vehicle. So now it cost a thousand dollars.
I would never come back to this place or recommend Mavis tires to anybody.

Again I will never come to this company again. Seams to be a pattern of rippling customers off of their hard earned money.
This is mostly likely why they chanced names.

A ton of variables factor into a car pulling. Not sure why that store won't swap them and test drive with you driving to see if the problem is solved tell that store manager to swap them out. Story not making sense they no how to handle these things.
