The same issue I have with my MBD7749SBM2 dishwasher control panel wiring harness is all over the internet. The very, very thin plastic wiring harness has completely burned/corroded directly above the handle and exactly as I have seen of so many others. It has left the machine useless without spending in excess of $150 on the replacement part alone. This machine has been installed for less than a year, but unfortunately is out of warranty. Very poor design and very upset with Maytag design quality. This product should not experience this kind of failure, especially within the period of time in which it has been utilized.

I'm really confused as to how this could happen... parts shouldn't be $200 a part... same here. A month ago my in washer stopped . A tech said I needed a new motor. I called the parts number, I thought I was paying for a new motor( bought Dec 2015) instead it was a service plan. Why would I need that with time running out when I don't have a working washer> They set up an appointment. No one showed, I phoned no one seemed to know what was going on. They gave me the tech's name and phone number, He said he knew nothing about it. the sent another guy but he didn't have a motor and he'd need permissionI am so stressed out. Talked to many people but no one knew anything. My phone went dead they won't fix til 48 hours

I bought a Maytag washer on January 24, 2017 from Sears .the washer came with a sample of Downey Stoppables softener. So I continued using them for my softener . I would put them in the tray where it says softener. The tray started melting for some reason. Today is August 3rd and this is the 2nd time they will be replacing the tray. The technician didn't even look at the washer. He did not take it apart to see why the tray was melting. He just suggested that I use liquid softener instead of the stoppable's. I just hope this doesn't cause a fire of any kind to my washer or my home.

On January 13, 2018, we purchased the Maytag MVWB765FW1. We called service shortly after it was installed (installed on 1-19-18) for error messages. Service came out and said the installers put the extraction hose too far into the drain. We called service in February, 2018 about clanking noise of the motor and/or transmission. Service came out and said that was a natural sound? Going to call service today (3-12-18) as the cloths are not getting wet when washing even though we do the extra fill option. We are having to wash sheets three (3) times to get them all soaked and washed. The machine is not getting all of the wash wet many dry parts. This is a BIG - BIG problem for us - three times to wash and then not rally washing. Not liking this machine at all but appears we are stuck with it. We purchased this machine from Home Depot in January, 2018 and asked them if we could return it (three weeks after we purchased it) for the problems we have had and continue to have mainly, not washing. Home Depot will not accept the return as their now policy stated we only had three days after the purchase to return even though they never disclosed this policy to us at the time of the purchase (their policy changed right before we purchased this unit as it was thirty (30) days return). We will never purchase anything from Home Depot and we are stuck with a lemon of a washer - namely, Maytag which my wife dislikes, not pleased and I can say - hate. I am retiring in 2018 and we thought we were purchasing a long-life washer ($659) for our retired time. That is a lot of money for us and to have it go to waste on a very poor product.

I have a Maytag washer that I have had for a year and a half. On the lid it says 10 year warranty. I tried to get it fixed and was told it was not able to repair. I am very disappointed. I have always bought Maytag because of their reliability. I am a single mom and I work very hard and I can't believe I have to purchase another washer in less then 2 years. I am now researching other brands after what happened.
I really hope that Maytag can do something to make this right. I spent 1400 on a washer and dryer both Maytag only to have the washer break twice within a year for the same reason (it would not spin). This sounds like a manufacturer defect to me. I purchased this refrigerator on 6/9/11. On 7/21/17 it stopped working and needed a new circuit board. I was not happy that after only 6 months of owning this refrigerator we had such a big problem and we ended up losing some food because of the issue! Because I wasn't happy I tried to email Maytag to let them know and kept getting a "enter valid email address" message when I tried to auburn it! I entered a couple different valid emails and reviewed the same error message! So I wasn't able to email them. So I tried to chat them. After waiting 7 min to chat with someone I was connected, they took my info and then because I didn't respond to them within 3 min (someone came to my door so I went to answer it) they disconnected the chat! I am beyond disappoints with Maytag, not only did the appliance I bought have issues shortly after I bought it, but the trying to report these issues to Maytag has been an even worse experience! I will probably never by Maytag/whirlpool products again!

I recently purchase a Whirlpool Oven and Microwave with trim kit. I waited 3 weeks for this purchase to arrive. Upon arrival, the trim kit was missing. I have spent another week trying to get answers from you. Now I understand that it will be another week. In the meantime, my new oven and microwave sit in my floor. I have not been given any explanation as to why it is taking a month and why no one contacted me about this. Very poor customer service!

We are long time (many decades)consumer of Maytag products and currently have a Maytag dishwasher and refrigerator in our kitchen. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with our recent experience. We purchased our dishwasher in 2014 and 2016 we periodically had problems with starting the dishwasher and then after a few days it would work again. Eventually we had to call and pay for service but when the guy came the machine worked and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. Then in July 2017 we were unable to start the machine and after several days of trying we called the service man again and he concluded that we need to replace the touch pad and control board. The cost of parts and labor is almost the same as buying a new dishwasher. We bought the machine at

maytag maxima front load washer
I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my Maytag Maxima Washer. It was purchased in February 2016. The drum experienced issues in June 2017. After calling Maytag a technician was sent to the home to check it out. The technician told us that the drum would need replaced. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into.
Since that day three separate drums have been sent to the house. A technician came out the first time and noticed that the drum was cracked. So they had to reorder another drum and a half day of my work was wasted.
After about a week the 2nd drum was shipped to the house. I noticed that there was a chip on one of the plastic knob/inserts. I called the appliance company doing the service. They were nice enough to order a new one for us and push back our fix date. They went ahead and scheduled a next day delivery because it was coming from Louisville and the woman stated that it was close enough for them to do 1 day delivery. Well... long story short... it didn't come for Days (4 or 5 I believe)
The technician showed up a few days after the third drum arrived. We opened the box to find that not only is the drum cracked. The drum is also chipped over. It was too, deemed unusable. Luckily, after a few phone calls from the technician the chip on the side of the 2nd drum was not bad enough to where they could not use it. After a few hours the drum in my washer was replaced.
Next - the last piece of the puzzle. After the new drum was put into place the drive motor on the back of the old drum had to be removed and placed on the new drum. Due to issues with the screws in the drive motor the technician was unable to finish the job. She sadly told me that a new drive motor and screws will have to be ordered and sent to our home.
After a few days the new drive motor came in. I check over it with the naked eye to see if there were any issues. I did not see any. The technician came to the house (this is the 3rd time) to place the new drive motor on the washer. Little did she know that when she checked the wires that needed to be hooked in to the washer, one of them did not work. There was no current coming from one of the wires. Once again, another piece of equipment does not work. The technician was devastated to the point where she is coming to our house tomorrow, on our time, to fix this problem. Now this is becoming an issue for the appliance company who is having a heck of a time trying to fix a washer. There have been too many hours put into this washer. At most this should have been a 3 hour job. Now I am waiting ever so patiently for the new drive motor to come to my house so it can be put on tomorrow.
The saddest part of all this is that I can't trust anything coming to my will work. I can't trust that something is being put on my belongings, things I spend a lot of money on, is going to work. My wife is at her last limb. I called Maytag and let them know that how frustrated I am. They responded by saying that I should understand that they are paying for the repair. Well, although that is true, they are not paying for or reimbursing all this vacation time I'm taking. They are not paying for the time we're taking trying to get clothes, sheets, towels, dress clothes (I wear shirt and tie to work every day) and our sons things washed. I have had to lug 2 drums from the basement by myself and place them on the curb as directed. These last few weeks have been awful. After the 3rd or 4th time I would be expecting them to actually do something that makes sense. Instead, Maytag has no issues at all sending more and more stuff. It's much more than an inconvenience. We bought the Maxima because we need to wash a lot of things.
I will say that I apologized to the woman over the phone for taking my frustrations out on her. I told her that I am aware that it was not her fault. She just ended up being the person on the other end of the phone. It's the people taking care of these pieces that should be ashamed of themselves. I am sickened by the fact that they only package their washer drums in a cardboard box then just slide some cardboard pieces in the corner. No Styrofoam or anything to help make sure that these things can withstand a little punishment. It's an awful process. I can only hope that this review gets to someone in management and they do something about this.
I demanded a new washer because now I fear the washer I purchased is going to be made up of used parts. I have used too much vacation time and I don't just have that kind of time to take.
Maytag has spent more money in parts in shipping that my washer is even worth. Next time please save the embarrassment and just let me switch my washer out.

I am writing this for my landlady. I have ONE question for you people...Do you not have a department in your whole business that check out your products before leaving your factory? This is going to be the third fridge that I am waiting for. The first one the ice maker was broke. The one I have now gets no water to the fridge or ice maker . I can't wait to see what the hell is going to be the third ones problem. On top of all this screwing around I have to wait anywhere from a week to two weeks before I get the next fridge.

maytag rebate cut off denies valid submission
I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother who, due to computer restrictions, is not able to do so (I am providing her with a copy of this complaint letter). On May 28, 2017 my mother purchased approx. $3, 200 of Maytag appliances - fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher from Earl B. Fieden Inc. in Clifton Park NY. I and my sister, both of whom do not live in NY state, assisted my mother in making the purchase. My mother is almost 78 years old, widowed and this was her first appliance purchase on her own. A critical part of the decision to purchase Maytag brand appliances was due to the double rebate being offered: one from Maytag ($400) and one via Neco Alliance ($300) for a total of $700. Such a rebate is a material sum of money for an elderly individual living on a fixed income.
Upon the completion of the purchase on May 28, the vendor indicated that the rebate forms must (not "may") be completed online (they could NOT be mailed in) and that the serial numbers must be provided at the time the rebate request was submitted. My mother took the vendor's instructions at face value and in good faith i.e. that the forms must be completed online and that they could only be completed with the serial numbers. She asked me to assist her in completing the forms online when she received the serial numbers because she was not able to do so and it was our understanding that they could not be mailed in. While a Maytag sale was on and ended May 31 there was no indication by the vendor or on any signs anywhere in the store that the rebate request had a cutoff date (which we subsequently discovered and which is the reason for this complaint).
Delivery of the appliances was initially scheduled for June 9 and which was subsequently changed by the vendor to June 23 because all the appliances were not available for delivery. On the afternoon of Friday June 23 the appliances were delivered and 3 of the serial numbers were obtained (the stove serial number was not provided by the delivery men). The following Monday my mother provided me with the serial numbers she had and also advised me that there was an issue with the fan on the microwave. I indicated to her that she should have the fan checked immediately and we should also get the stove serial number since it was needed in order to submit the online rebate forms. Keep in mind that we were working on this premise based on the explicit instructions provided by the appliance vendor.
Early this week a serviceman came to take a look at the microwave fan and was also able to provide her with the serial number of the stove which she in turn immediately provided to me. I then attempted to submit the rebate forms online and could not. I tried from my office and then from my home thinking there may have been a firewall issue. There was not. I finally reviewed the invoice documentation I had been provided to see if I had to access any other site as I could not understand why I could not proceed with the submission. Much to my horror and chagrin I read in the fine print of the forms that there was a cutoff date of June 30, that the forms in fact could have been mailed in, and most ridiculously, the forms could be submitted without the serial numbers which in turn could be submitted by August 29. The same held true for the Neco Alliance rebate. I felt sick to my stomach - $700 gone!
Yesterday late morning (July 11) I called your customer service center and spoke to a rep named Amanda and explained the situation. She repeatedly told me there was nothing that could be done. When I raised the point that it didn't make sense to me to be able to submit an incomplete rebate form by June 30 (i.e. without serial numbers) but that a complete rebate form (i.e. with serial numbers) could not be submitted on July 11 which was well before the cutoff date in the fine print of August 29 she again repeated there was nothing Maytag could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor/manager and she told me to call back after noon. I then called my mother to advise her to call Maytag as I would be in a meeting. My mother went to the appliance store (Feiden's) and asked for their assistance. They said, "sorry nothing we can do". She returned home and called the supervisor and again was told there was nothing that could be done.
This is utterly unacceptable. Maytag is a longstanding and seemingly reputable company and yet it appears to resort to shenanigans such as this. It is ridiculous to hide disclosure language in small fine print, have distributors of your products who don't know what is going on and provide false/misleading information, and have a policy that, in substance, doesn't make sense. Oxford dictionary defines "rebate" as "a partial refund to someone who has paid too much for tax, rent, or a utility" or "a deduction or discount on a sum of money due". The definition of "rebate" does not include a cutoff time and one within days of a sale end date. You permit an incomplete rebate form to be submitted by a certain date (June 30) and provide another later date (Aug 29) by which to complete that form, yet you do not accept a fully completed/in order form prior to that later date (July 11). How does that make sense? What if the delivery of the appliances occurred after the June 30 cutoff (but bought incentivized by the rebate), due to lack of availability, ? Would you then say "Oh well, too bad"? really? What if a purchaser was delayed in submitting the forms due to a personal matter (as in my case where I was notified that my father- in- law has colon cancer around the time of the cutoff date). Would you say "Oh well, too bad?". I work in the investment industry and am regulated/licensed by the securities commission. If I or my firm would have engaged in such activities of fine print and inappropriate/misleading sales tactics, we would be out of the industry very quickly and slapped with fines and penalties.
My mother made a significant and important purchase due to the incentive of the rebates Maytag offered. It is only reasonable and equitable that she be provided with the rebates that incentivized her purchase as an appropriate resolution to this matter. Nothing else is acceptable.

We purchased this Maytag Bravos Dryer on Feb 10, 2012 from BrandsMart. We also purchased a 5 year extended warranty. This past week the dryer stopped drying and we contact Maytag Customer Service. They asked me if L2 was appearing on the machine and it was. I was instructed to turn of the circuit breaker for 2 minutes and turn it back on. I did and nothing changed. They then told me it was sounds like an electrical problem and I should call and electrician. I called our electrician and he thoroughly checked our breakers and the dryer connections including the outlet. He told me that Maytag should not have requested an electrician as it is the heater element that went out. This service cost me $125 and then required me to get a quote on replacing the heating element. After speaking with several appliance service companies, I was quoted $249-$325 for this job.
I am very upset with Maytag for leading me down a path that I should never I gone down. I am not faced with another $300 on top of the $125 for a dryer that is slightly over 5 years. I would like to be reimbursed for these costs and would also recommend that Maytag stops telling their customers to have an electrician check their dryer with L2 appears. It is also clearly stated in their warranty book under troubleshooting.

10/1/16- pull out drawer replaced not working properly
1/10/17 - mold issues inside of pull out draw. I called Maytag. Dutch Maytag the owner Art came out and replaced the complete insert where you fill your detergent because it was full of mold.
1/12/17- I used my washer for the first time since the repair and I left the laundry room and thankfully I was in a room close by because I heard water running and when I opened the laundry room door there was waterall over the floor. I turned the machine off immediately and threw lots of towel on the floor. I am grateful it didn't flood my new wood floors
Right outside the laundry room. I called Dutch Maytag first thing in the morning and he came back later that day. He put new clamps on the hose and an extra one. He said he usually always checks his work but forgot to this time.

4/10/17- I called Maytag to document the visit with Dutch Maytag because I am still dealing with mold issues in the detergent compartment
And because I was concerned about all the water that ran through the inside of my machine when the hose were not installed properly after the repair.
They send Ken Moore from Appliance Repair Out to our home and he just documented ny concerns and didn't take anything apart to look at it.
Every time I use this wash machine I wipe out the gasket, take the liquid dispenser completely out of the unit because there is quite a bit of water thT just sits in the unit. I take a dry cloth and wipe out the dispenser Area every load and I still have mildew and mold in the rear where I can't reach.

We bought this Maytag washer to replace the broken washer (other brand) on Feb 28, 2017. My husband did a lot of research on different brands of washers, and that we decided on this Maytag washer which has such good reviews. The washer ran well and very quiet until there is a malfunction on its drain cycle on June 30 2017, which means its whole wash/drain/spin cycle would not complete properly. It just stops at the last 12 minutes and keeps spinning but not draining. I was forced to stop the machine by turning of the power. My laundry was soaking wet. We looked up the manual for trouble-shooting but it doesn't help. This is kind of frustrating! It is just barely used for 4 months!
But what more frustrating is your customer service for under warranty products! My husband contacted your customer service about the problem. The answer we got is : The earliest date for the technician to be available is July 20th! That would be 3 weeks before we can use the kind of new washer! Really? According to the lady on the phone is that there aren't too many technician for under warranty products around our area, and that is not much she can do. That's it! This is really ridiculous and frustrating!
So, we bought a new durable (according to most reviews) Maytag washer for 4 months. Now it sits in our garage for displaying only. Not for use. And I have to pay the laundromat to do my laundry. Ironic, isn't it?
If my friends or family ask me about Maytag products, I would say no more and no less of my experience, especially with its lousy customer service.
I understand not all products be manufactured perfectly, there is always a small percentage that have some kind of glitches, but one have to wait 3 weeks for the customer service to the problem - that is unacceptable!

I purchased a Maytag washer model MVWB765FW0 on 1/20/17 from Home Depot and on 6/20/17 the water wouldn't enter the machine. I called customer service and explained what was happening. I was given a service appointment on 6/23/17 Serviceman showed and said it was my fill valve which I had already surmised was the problem when I researched the issue on the internet. He tells me he can't fix the machine because he doesn't stock the part. How do you come to repair something when you know the issue without the proper parts. I told Maytag customer service and the appliance repair company what was happening. He had 2 days to order the part before he came. He told me it would take about 2 days for the part to come in once he ordered it. He then said they would schedule my service appt once the part came in. This is a brand new washer. I purchased a Maytag dryer at same time and had to have someone service it a few weeks before. These are not cheap appliances. I am very upset disappointed in the quality of these appliances and would not recommend them to anyone or would I buy this brand in the future.

Over the last 5 years we have replaced every single appliance with a Maytag. I am aggrieved to say that we have had problems with the microwave (the clock), the refrigerator (the ice maker), the dishwater (heat sensor had to be replaced), the washing machine (drum) and the gas stove top (sensor caught fire today). All these appliances were professionally installed. I am sad to say that I will never recommend Maytag or any of its sisters to anyone considering purchasing new appliances, nor will we ever purchase another Maytag or sister appliance of any kind ever again. All our prior appliances were whirlpool a Maytag sister company and never had issues with them. They were just worn out.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
