Shoppers Drug Mart customer service and returns

Date of incident: February 27, 2017
Location: Jane and Rutherford Shoppers
Wanted to return a previously purchased Enfamil ready to feed 18 x 237mL box. I had purchased 4 boxes as I had newborn twins. One boxes last me about 2 days; therefore, the 4 boxes would last me just a little over 1 week. Having this many boxes is normal in our household. Due to the high cost of taking care of newborn babies, as well as the fact that the babies weren't taking well to Enfamil, I had decided to switch. At this point, I had 4 boxes and no time to return the product.

I purchased 2 boxes from the Jane and Rutherford location and 2 boxes from the Jane and Wilson location. I tried to return all 4 boxes at the Jane and Rutherford location.

I had the original receipt and unopened boxes, the store didn't want to take the product back. The store at the end took 2 boxes back and refunded me the money for those products. Now I'm left with 2 boxes that I can't really use.

I'm disgusted at the fact that Shoppers Drug Mart would treat the situation as such, that I can't even return an undamaged product and a receipt to go with it. I spend well over $1000.00/mth on baby food and products. The point of me returning the Enfamil, was so I have the money back to purchase other baby products.

This is not even the first time that I'm having issues with Shoppers Drug Mart. For myself and my family, Shoppers Drug Mart is not the way to go.

Resolution: Refund my money

Shoppers Drug Mart unethical behaviour

Yesterday evening my sisters and I were out for dinner celebrating my completion of my nursing program. After dinner we decided to go to shoppers drug mart. It was around 9 pm that we pulled up to the front of the store. Before we had even entered the store the lady at the cash stared at us as we walked up to the doors. When we entered the store we had not been there two minutes before the girl at the makeup counter asked us if she could cash us out. We responded with "no" as none of us had anything in our hands and therefore nothing to "cash out". In moving around the store I noticed the lady from the cash following us in the aisles. She got the women in the back as well to come out and follow us through the aisles.
While I completely understand that theft does occur and it can be harmful to the business, it is extremely uncomfortable and insulting to be followed around the store. When I go in with my mother I do not get followed around like this. It was because I was with my two younger sisters.
Oddly enough this is not the first time this has happened to us. Four years ago the same thing happened except that time the cashier followed us out of the store and wrote down our licence plate number, or should I say my mother's licence plate number.
My sisters and I, as well as my parents, are going to be avoiding this business. I enjoy going to shoppers but my experience is ruined. I do not wish to be followed around a store and made to feel uncomfortable anymore. I am not sure what resolution will come of this complaint however I felt it necessary to submit one.

Shoppers Drug Mart narcissistic manager

I worked at Shoppers for 7 years from [protected] as a receiver/Merchandiser in Vernon, BC. The last 3 years there were pure hell as they hired a severely narcissistic man as the manager. Within his first month there he had sexually harassed me and crossed every single possible boundary. A complaint was filed with the associate but nothing was done because she was also a narcissist and didn't care about anything but profit. The emotional abuse got so bad I finally left and went back to school. My last straw was when I switched a shift and the manager yelled at me and slammed his office door in my face. Once again nothing was done about his behavior because the store was doing well and all that matters to the company is money and not the well-being of employees. I have only learned about narcissistic abuse this past year and how horribly I was treated at that store. How do I get a hold of hr to file a complaint or would anyone even care?

Shoppers Drug Mart security guard

Go to 43 Osborne location all the time and first time I did not feel welcomed and instead felt like a criminal as I was discriminated against and followed by security from as soon as I walked in the store with my newborn all the way to the end where he made it known as he stood behind me as the transaction for my purchases was being made with his arms crossed. There were other people that had walked in before me in the store as well and he did not follow them around or even checked on them but chose to follow me throughout my whole visit. I go there regularly and had never experienced that type of behaviour towards me but also have never even noticed security there before. Staff needs to learn how to treat all CUSTOMERS equally. Cashiers are very friendly though.

Shoppers Drug Mart check out/optimum points

I am annoyed that when I load coupons to my Shoppers Optimum card that for the third time in a row, I have been denied points at the check out. The computer for the cashier does not show which items I have received points on AND which items I did not receive points on. Today, for example, I specifically bought cat litter, a can of corn and a bag of coffee expecting points for these 3 items with my loaded coupons on my card and I did not receive points for the bag of coffee even though that coupon, correct date and all, was loaded on my card.

When I shop at FreshCo, Loblaws or Walmart, I can give the cashier coupons and the coupons will show up on their check out screens for how many dollars or cents redeemed for which item. At Shoppers, it literally just says, "promotional item/coupon" with a long 7 digit number beside it and the check out cashier can only apologize to me when I do not get the points I'm expecting because they themselves do not even know which items I got points on! If I ran a mega company, I wouldn't want my cashiers being clueless as to what the customer received points on or not and that the cashiers can only apologize.

I was a kind customer and bought the item not receiving any points when I could have held up the line and made the cashier return all the items and see if it was the coffee that I didn't get points on.

I have complained 3 times in person at the Shoppers I normally go to in my neighbourhood and this is my first formal complaint online. Please, update your systems or will have lost my loyalty of 26 years.

Shoppers Drug Mart postal services - canada post

On thrusday february 16th my daughter (under age so does not have id with address on it) did me a favor (since she walks by shoppers on her way home from school and I have a 6 month old at home) to pick up a parcel (baby formula, which canada post themselves did NOT try an attempt but rather just brought it to the depot, we have a new carrier who is lazy and yes I have already put in a complaint to canada post about the new driver).
When my daughter went in to pick up the parcel (age 15 years old and only school id) one lady was going to give her my parcel, when the older lady behind the counter stated she was rude and NOT to give it to her, thereby now I had to go in with my 6 month old on friday to pick up his formula. I have a photo of the older lady who refused my daughter the parcel and the comment made was pertaining to an incident with a missing parcel and they sent her to the main post office however the main post office had sent her to shoppers. I was on the phone and was prevvy to everything going on and my daughter was by no means rude. But your worker however is and I would like to put in a formal complaint for her lack of customer service. Not to mention I went in thrusday evening and it was supposed to be open till 9pm but when I was there at 7pm it was closed with a sign stating they would be back at 725pm however i waited till 730pm and couldnt wait anylonger because my 15 year old was watching my 6 month old and I was only supposed to be 10mins and had to get going.
the lady should not be working in customer service with such a snotty attitude and inconvinence, why say it is open till 9pm but then have a closed sign at 7-725pm but then still do not show up at 730pm.
older lady in question is in the photo attached, she has been snotty to me in the past as well, it is like she doesn't like her job...she is not a people person

1. It clearly states on the pickup notice, that proof of address is required in order to pick up the parcel. Chances are, the lady behind the counter wasn't rude to your daughter and she used that an an excuse to get you off of her back about not getting the parcel; and 2. it shows on the front window of EVERY shoppers drug mart that no photos are to be taken within the store. So not only have you ignores two policies put into place, taking photos of people on private property is illegal; I sincerely hope that Shoppers Drug Mart location presses charges against you. ####.

Shoppers Drug Mart store manager

I went into the shoppers on Holiday Inn drive in Cambridge Ont. on Sat. Feb 18/2017. The pop was on sale so I went in and bought 4 coke for me and my brother went in and bought 4 coke for his family. We both paid separately. My mom said she would like 4 Pepsi so I went back in and asked the cashier if that was OK. . She said it was fine. The store was about to close and the sale was only for that day. As I was checking out the store manager started yelling at me that I had already been in and bought 4 along with my husband. I made it very clear that it was not my husband that he was my brother and the 4 Pepsi I have now is for my mom that could not make it out there. He continued to yell at me saying I was a liar in front of a bunch of customers. I told him I will put the 4 Pepsi back if it was such a huge issue. He then went on to say that I was to do whatever I wanted because I would have anyway. Not true. Customers were looking at me. I was so humiliated by this manager over 4 bottles of pop. I understand there was a limit but I had only purchased the 4 for myself and I asked if I could grab 4 for my mom. I was told that it was fine. That is the worst disrespect for a customer that I have ever experienced or witnessed. If it was such a huge issue then he could have come up to me and asked me to put them back. I would have no questions asked. I will never step foot in that shoppers ever again and neither will my family. All this embarrassment was over 4 packs of pop. It's business and the store was close to closing. This manager needs to retrain on how to treat customers. Even the cashier felt so bad for me she kept apologizing for him. This was not her fault. I spend a lot of money in that store but now I will never go in there again. Please rectify this problem with this manager as I would never want anyone to ever experience what I went through. 2 days later it still really bothers me.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

I called in to shoppers on mud rd and asked if Plan B was covered on the drug formulary so I could get a script. I'm almost 42 and I had one encounter that I'm not proud of but it happened and it would be dangerous for me to get pregnant because my uterus had an ablation so if I got pregnant it would almost certainly attach to my tubes and cause possibly a rupture. I have never done this before. I was married 21 years and a year ago separated. This is my first encounter since the separation and it is a relationship not a one night stand. The pharmacists working feb17/17 at 10:45 am, both said no it's not covered. I then proceeded to the ODB formulary and Plan B is covered up to $17.20. I asked the assistant on the phone if they checked the formulary and she said both pharmacists agree it's not covered and they don't need to check because the dispense it all the time. I said obviously they don't want to dispense it and hung up. If I'm pregnant now, the liability is on them. If I end up in the hospital, even worse.
I've since called my nurse and I'm having it filled no charge, at a smaller but better pharmacy. I've had nothing but problems with this store specifically over the last 10 years.
It's not my fault I'm disabled. Just because I'm on ODSP doesn't mean I'm a non functioning member of society leaching off the system. I used to be a technician for shoppers for 20 years and unfortunately my MS is really starting to be a problem and I can't work in pharmacy for 8 hours. Plus the last shoppers I worked at just before I got sick, in Grimsby(both stores), there's one pharmacist who worked full time, absolutely banned breaks. Probably contributed to my flare up. I now drive school bus but it pays almost less than min wage plus it's part time. Unfortunately my circumstances dictate my need for assistance.
My whole point is this, mud street needs to be checked out. They're awful and I would never treat my patients the way this pharmacy treats people.

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service.

Hi There,

I just wanted to give a bit of feedback about your Danforth/Coxwell Shoppers Drug Mart which I frequent quite often.

Every time I go in there I drop quite a bit of money, choosing to use this store as opposed to a grocery store. When the clerk that I am referring to, or supervisor according to her name tag, waits on me I always leave angry and questioning the reason people that CLEARLY HATE their job continue to work for a company.

I have been in this industry for over 20 years and agree it can get tiresome and lacklustre at times, but if you are constantly scowling at people and NEVER EVER EVER have the decent courtesy to say "HELLO HOW ARE YOU" instead of greeting a customer with "DO YOU NEED A BAG?" then you need a new job.

Today was no different and I am upset it has taken me this long to write about the situation. As I was leaving, and my items were SHOVED off the counter, the woman behind me said "Hi how are you" to your employee to which she completely ignored and said "Do you need a bag". If this is how you train your employees than you might need to rethink your structure. Or maybe Linda (your supervisor to who I am referring to) needs to find a new job. Terrible terrible terrible service and I wish there was a grocery store closer as I would NEVER enter this store knowing she worked there.

While they should be more polite, I absolutely despise when people make the suggestion to find a new job. While I'm sure they appreciate that very unique advice, not everyone has that luxury.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

NOTE: This is only directed towards a specific location, Mapleview & Essa in Barrie, ON. This pharmacy is problems after problems and I could not be more appalled by a professional company. After countless occassions of inxompetincy, this pharmacy & their staff continue to prove their lack of customer care skills & ability to take care of customer prescriptions. On top of the numerous occasions of not having my prescription ready or even in stock well after the pick-up time, they have given me short the amount of what my prescription needs, and charged the wrong amount & disgregarded my insurance. All of this is incredibly irritating & inefficient, but the worst case has been the mix-up. In this instance my sister, mother, & I picked our prescriptions together up at once so they were bundled together in a bag so we took the bag & went home, my mother in Barrie & my sister & I taking ours back to St Catharine's. The next morning I go to take my Birth Control (I am 20 years old & sexually active, this is a very important prescription), I notice the prescription is not mine but another woman who lives in Barrie. I now know her VERY private medical condition, her contact information, & her address & the pharmacy did not even extend an apology or attempt to fix their breach of privacy & what else could have been wrong with that. This pharmacy is absolutely awful. I have no left there once happy.

Shoppers Drug Mart post office cashiers let me moneygram transactions to a fake shipping company I was unaware of

The following statement is my description of my fraud report:
After being contacted by text in reply to my kijiji for sale posting, I fell victim to a scam partly because I was tricked by fake pending paypal amount emails and a fake shipping company, which got me to moneygram him 3 amounts on 3 separate occasions. The fake paypal emails said I can't receive the funds unless the moneygrams are picked up by a shipping agent, and the fake shipping company emails said they can’t come pick up the item and bring it to the buyer unless I moneygram them the 3 amounts. (1 for shipping/handling, 1 for border / customs fees and the other for an insurance fee). Once the scammer sent a 4th fake pending paypal amount, and the shipper asked for “hospital bills”, saying the shipping agent died in an accident on his way to pickup my item, moneygram, paypal, western union and I knew this was a scam. He wanted me to try sending it to 4 different “agent” names.

The following statement is my complaint against moneygram’s lack of training of shoppers drugmart/canada post employees:
The lack of attention, knowledge and training of shoppers drug mart/canada post cashiers, at three different canada post/shoppers is also why I was victimized by this scam. Even though I said "no" when they asked if I know the receiver in real life, and explained to them why im sending money to someone I don’t know (Which at the time I did not know the paypal emails and shipping company were a fake scam). These 3 different shoppers drug mart employees let me send the money regardless. A moneygram employee over the phone told me they would not have let me send the first transaction, let alone the other two if I were to be doing this transfer with a moneygram employee in person. Because they would have known to deny me when I said “no” to knowing the person and a moneygram employee would have informed me the way this buyer is wanting the item “picked up” is a scam. Also, the moneygram employee over the phone said he would have known “argo shipping” is not a certified international shipper. These employees (At shoppers drug mart/canada post) should know I was about to send money to a scammer because of the reason I was sending money/method he is wanting to buy/ship item, the shipping company name not being legitimate, and me answering “no” to the protocol question, "do you know the receiver in real life?”.
The most recent moneygram employee I spoke to over phone said I will most likely be able to be reimbursed by either moneygram or shopper’s drug mart because I have a reasonable complaint and proof of lack of training/knowledge. As well as 19 forged paypal and “argo shipping” emails.

The following are the locations of all 3 shoppers/post offices and employee names:
360a bloor st w - m5s1xo - andreas - moneygram reference# [protected]
18 eglinton square - m1l4to - beatrice - mg ref# [protected]

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

I had called the toronto corktown shoppers to Asia. Simple question about my Canada post package that had been delivered there. I called and we immediately put on hold for 15 minutes so I hung up and called back. The same woman answered and said "I have paged the post office and no body paged back or answered I'll try again, hold please." So I continued to hold for another 7 minutes until I hung up for a second time and called back. This time I went straight to the customer service line and asked if there was even anyone working the post office today and she said yes it's just really busy. My problem is that the regional woman I talked to didn't have the courtesy to tell me that so I might choose to call back at a later time. She had now waisted 30 minutes of my time when she could have suggested calling back later. After telling the young girl (#2) her response was " well you can talk to her if you have a problem" I have worked in customer service for the better half of my life and this is not something I expect out of a large corporation like shoppers drug mart!

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

On Saturday Februrary 4th was purchasing some items at the Tower Hill and Yonge location store. I did not have $50 worth of items so decided to purchase a $25 dollar Shoppers Drug Mart gift card to make up the difference so I could benefit from the 20X points offer. They would not give me the points on the shoppers gift card so I said I wanted a refund. First off, my friend purchases shoppers drug Mart gift cards and collects points on them and your policy clearly states that " 13. Shoppers Optimum Points will not be issued respecting the purchase of the following items/services: gift cards and prepaid card products (except Shoppers Drug Mart- branded gift cards)". As I was told I could not receive the points on the Shoppers Card I asked for a refund, at this point the manager was called and he was very angry. He wanted me to keep the card and began yelling at me. When I insisted I wanted a refund he reached into his wallet and actually threw $25 dollars at me. I have never been treated so poorly, I was and still am so angry and humiliated.
I would like someone to set this manager straight! If he owns a Shoppers Drug Mart store he should be abiding by the company policy. Please contact me with the results your investigation. Not sure I will be returning to your company.

SO... you didn't 1. Notice that on their gift card rack, it EXPLICITLY says "no refunds on gift cards", 2. Read the terms of the 20x the points that CLEARLY states that the promotion will not be applied if gift cards are part of the $x amount of dollars for the 20x, nor did you 3. Get off your high horse and realize that, yes, they give points on their gift cards but not bonus points.

Shoppers Drug Mart unpleasant experience at the cashier (yonge/finch location)

Around 1:30am. Feb 7th, 2017 horrible experience just encountered in the Yonge/Finch store. Just wanted return the wrong nutrition product bought one week ago. First the cashier said without receipt she could do nothing. I told her I already checked with the customer service centre, been told shoppers can use the optimum card to track the transaction history and do either exchange or return. Apparently she's not familiar with the cashier computer system and kept saying she needs supervisor to do it who's not in the store at that moment. As my experience, have seen so many times other customers been serviced doing the exchange or return, for the regular exchange or return supervisor's authorization not necessary at all. Finally I helped her found the right page to search the transaction history, but she totally had no idea what to do and where to input the data. After her mistake putting Feb 27th instead of Jan 27th, computer went down. She just kept argued with me, ignoring the hint in the screen" date range error" Later than that she started complaining it's my fault made other customer waiting which made me really upset. I still tried communicate with her "I don't mind come back one more time even you told me directly you don't know how to do it at the very beginning, but not like this, trying to find different excuses. This is the basic skill being qualified as the cashier. It would only take 2-3 minutes if you are professional." After I told her I would make a complain to the Shoppers, even the security came to me saying " you can not force her to do that". And I replied " sir, I didn force her to do anything. I do respect your job. But as you don't know what exactly going on here it's not proper just put your comment " After that I've been told "you should leave the store". That is the story happened tonight. I've been with Shoppers more than ten years, this is definitely a new experience to me.

Shoppers Drug Mart horrible experience in cosmetics dept and then at the cash

I was looking for a gold nail polish around the holidays and so pulled about 6-8 polishes from their display. I proceeded to try the colours on a nominal part of my nail to test for colour.

The cosmetics girl who was dusting the shelves with a feather-thing then caught my attention when I was walking away, asking, "Do you expect me to put those away, or are you going to?" I stated that I was actually walking away to get some service, since nobody availed themselves to me until then. She then proceeded to tell me that it was such a health hazard to try on nail polish and that I should have asked for tape to cover my nails. Disgust and demeaning in her tone and manner.

On one hand I can appreciate this, on the other - have you ever been to a SALON for a manicure or pedicure? Do they crack open a new bottle every time you cross their threshold? Unhygienic? Polishes are shared ALL THE TIME without sanitary considerations, even in the best salons.

Besides, why did she have the time to dust the shelves with a fluffy feather rather than extend decent service? I'm so tired of hourly-paid cosmetics employees thinking they have to one-up everyone else to prove something. I called the manager and got, "I'm surprised because she's one of my best" which translates to "I have no intention of doing anything about it because I like her."

Cashing out at the front was also a joy - no eye-contact, totally bored and not at all friendly. I haven't been there since and would advise against anyone visiting the Oakville Place Shoppers location.

Shoppers Drug Mart employee attitude

I would like to complain about an unpleasant experience I just encountered in the Hudson's Bay Centre (20 Bloor St E, Toronto, ON M4W 3G7) store.

My name is Maya Terzieva and I am a senior financial analyst at a global insurance company. I visit the mentioned above store on regular basis as I live in a walking distance from that location.

While I was shopping today ( 02/01/2017, approx. time: 8 PM), I was asked by an employee of yours to leave the 2 (nail polish) items with them until I finish shopping for the rest of the products I was there for (which I did without even realizing what was implied by this). My boyfriend instantly reacted and requested the items back as he found this quite insulting and then we continued shopping (for groceries) while being followed by the assistant manager (Andrew).

At check out, Andrew approached us as we were both upset with the situation that was enforced upon us; however, instead of apologizing, he was extremely impolite to us and asked us to leave the store when we explained why we are offended. Since there was no point to continue this conversation we left; however, I realized that I would actually like to report this and went back to ask him for his name to which he reacted by threatening me to call security saying that "the whole store will back him up".

I am extremely offended by this situation and would really appreciate if you explain to your employees how they are to treat customers in "their store".

Thank you for the time to review this.

Kind regards,
Maya

Shoppers Drug Mart loss prevention

Today I witnessed a LPO or loss prevention officeir make a bad arrest I was a senior loss prevention officer for 5 years till I finally got a real career. As a LPO you have 6 rules of arrest and 7 rules when arresting.
1. Watch and see the suspect enter the store
2. Watch the suspect pick and item off the shelf
3. Watch the suspect conceal the item
4. And very important keep continuity on the suspect at all times
5 watch the suspect pass all purchasesing tills
6. Watch the suspect Exit the store with falier to pay.
This big fat out of shape lpo arrested a girl before she left and before she passed any tills it dose not matter if she concealed an item she could change her mind orange still could pay we do not have pre crime even a RCMP or any police officer has rules to follow like not entering a house without due cause or a warrant. So I walked up to him as Jesus huffing and puffing with adrenaline sorting through his veins as a arrest seamed to please him and told him he is making a illegal arrest he said NO I am not unsaid you have to wait for her to pass all the tills then exit the store. He said my manager told me to I told him then you should of told the shoppers manager he can't due to the 6 rules I must follow she could changyher mind she has not official stole anything until she leaves with falier to pay he started screaming at me and my wife so ingot mad and yelled back moaning know I shouldn't of yelled that's why I let myself out to calm down I HATE WHEN PEOPLE WITH AUTHORITY ABUSE THERE GIVEN POWER AND EVEN MORE WHEN ITS A RENTA 👮 A WANNAB BECAUSE THEY WANT POWER THEY CANT HAVE

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy assistant

I phoned the Peterborough Shoppers Drugmart to see if my prescription had been filled as they told me it would be done. I spoke to a pharmacy assistant named Katelyn who was absolutley awful and rude toward me on the phone. She did not give me a chance to answer and interrupted me 3 times. I was also on hold for 10 minutes waiting to speak to someone. I then stated that all I was doing was following up and she hung up the phone on me. I am disgusted by the service provided by this shoppers drug mart and believe something needs to be done about their treatment of customers.
