Customer service and accessibility issues
First of all let me start by saying I'm disabled and I can't bend over. Stop & Shop keeps their mobility scooters plugged in under register counter, so a disabled person hast to bend down and crawl under the counter of the cash register to unplug and replug in the scooter. That is the most unhelpful accessibility issue I have ever seen in my entire life.
Customer service at stop and shop is the worst I have ever seen. You ask for help and they don't know anything, they stand around talking while people are waiting at the register for the cashier to come it's a disgrace.

The store I shop in Newtown Lane in East Hampton, NY.
8 out of 10 times I cannot find what I am looking for. The most unpleasant check out representatives they all act like they are doing you a favor, sometime even looking at their watches.
The manager has no idea of how to stock the store, like I mentioned I almost never find what I need, from vinegar to beverages to pet food to cleaning products.
For example, I am an avid drinker of the Vita Coco water, they get a case, I buy 10 of them and the next day there are no more left. Obviously, something is wrong with the way the stock manager orders.
In any case, out of all the people that works there, there is only one guy that is very pleasant and helpful, the rest of them, including the manager are very unpleasant and not courteous at all. Very bad customer service and I hope you can do something about it as the closest shop is King Kullen next town over.

the cashier told customer that she only could buy food on 2 butter ball vouchers / checks from catholic charities . but it was not the case at all . it was not true . you can buy any various types of store bought groceries of a certain value according to the subtotal / total of any kind of style or type of check . but for n . y . c . government based funding helping care programs there is an amount of quantity & limit of what you can buy & or purchase because of cold & or hot food & paper goods & other any of mis / . items & goods & also due to the corona virus pandemic & other various germs . and again on saturday november 2 0 t h 2 0 2 1 @ 1 : 0 0 p m ; the grocery supermarket store is @ 1 7 1 0 avenue y location that i was told i could only buy food on the butter ball vouchers / checks from catholic charities & @ a certain subtotal / total & the cashier did not think that she can even take it & never even ever saw 1 & 2 of these kinds & or types checks & of which they always took from me & or my family members w / any type of problem & or any other issue . so in which reguards to that i had to use another way to pay for it & for which that i did not really have & was also trying to save up for & because of the holiday seasons & also because of the corona virus pandemic . by the way the stop & shop employee was horrible & terrible & w / no manners & w / beehive - hair - d o / w / boufant - hair - style / was disgusting & gross & messy & sloppy & repulsive . ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Product pricing
Sorry to have to write this but this happens way to often. the product behind the tag is not what is on sale. It happened again today and had to write. It is not the customers responsibility to have to read each tag to make sure it is the correct price. The customer counts on you to place your product correctly. Today I bought coffee. excited to see it on sale. When I got out I looked at my receipt and it was not discounted. I went in and asked customer service, we went and looked at the shelf there it was so she could see the tag had the wrong product behind. she said she could not refund the difference because it was not the same count. I know they stopped putting prices on product so in case someone made a mistake but it's the same thing if the tag is there representing the product it is the stores responsibility not the customer. I plan on sending in the same info to the CT Attorney generals office. Just because you are not placing the tag on the product doesn't mean you are miss leading the customer.
Desired outcome: stop and shop should have refunded the difference.
Store pricing and product selection and availability
Prices increased a lot in your stores especially not so much in other stores in the area, selection of products went from good products to more mediocre and more expensive ones and to get less product basically, your stores are overpricing a lot of products we are considering going shopping elsewhere even though your closest store is only half a mile away from our house you renovated the store and now it's worse than before too many issues to write them all here. you drop getting the product from good suppliers then replace the product with a more expensive one and a lesser weight so we pay more for less product. All of a sudden you drop products and never replace them with an equivalent always with more expensive ones Let me ask you how are the upper management bonuses? are they getting cut in pay or do they make the same amount of pay and even more?

The Belchertown MA store has the worst shopping carts I have ever seen. These carts are ready to fall apart. It really is embarasing when you walk into this store.
When will the Deli start offering all the salads? I have to travel to Big Y to get any salads etc.
No one's wearing a mask
No one is wearing a mask and everyone's mean and nasty about it. Most of the employees seem to have mild flu symptoms because they're sniffling every second. And on top of that it seems like most of the people who work there don't have good hygiene either. I go in there every week and not to be offensive but some of them are really stinky inky. And it seems like every time I go there a quarter of the food is expired.
Desired outcome: The FDA needs to give them a ticket
A Complaint An About An Emloyee
Hello Stop and Shop Representative how are you doing? I hope you are doing well. The reason I' am texting you this message, because I want to to being to your attention an incident that took place on Sunday September 5th, 2021. The incident involved conflict between an employee and I. The employee' s name Amanda. She works at the Stop And Shop at 59 Burnett Boulevard, Queens, New York, 12603.
I have been shopping at Stop And Shop since 2015 6 years. I never encountered an incident like this one. I seen Amanda work there for years. Occasionally when we coincidentally contact each by eye contact, we say hello to each other. On Sunday September 5th, 2021, we said hello each other. Then I went to go shopping.
Then when I finished I realized that the register lines were full. I decided to go to the Automated Register. Many of them were also being occupied by customers. So I stood behind a customer. and I did not realize the one next to her was available because she blocked my view. Then I realized it was Amanda. She was there purchasing merchandise. She probably was off duty or on lunch break. I was approximately 7 feet away from her. Then she looked at me and said, "stop hovering over me". Then I said, "I was not hovering over you". Then she said, there is another one available". Then she walked away. Then another female employee who was too far away to be a witness, claimed I was hovering over her. The camera shows I was no where near Amanda. I just stood behind because the other automated Registers were full. I did not realized the one next to her was available because she blocked the view. I spoke to the manager about the incident approximately a week later. She told me she will discuss the incident with the employee. Then I spoke to her again on Monday October 18th, 2021. She told she had already spoke to her about the incident.
I have a feeling she did not speak to her, or if she did it was very brief, and it was with the intention to end it quickly.
In conclusion I would like an investigation made. I was just standing there, because I did not realize the Automated Register next to her was available. I could not see the Automated Register, because she was blocking the view of the automated Register next the the she was using. Her actions were not justified, and she over reacted rather than turning around to ask why I was standing there. I' am requesting an investigation be made. I' am not texting this letter about a complaint to get revenge. I' am not a vindictive person. I cannot have this woman incriminate me. She is using s neo feminist strategy to make it appear I' am guilty. You know the old conclusion he is a man he must be guilty. You and Stop And Shop can decide how you want to proceed within your authority and options. You can take the information for what it is worth. I text what I had to text. Desired outcome: Either a suspension or warning. I will leave with that to the representative in charge to decide within her limits of her authority, and options.
Seafood Dept
For the third time in as many months I have purchased seafood from their dept counter and when I get home have found the product to have spoiled. They promptly refund my purchase but something should be done. Their fresh fish products never ever have ice on them and I can't see any type of thermometer to let me know their seafood is being kept at a consistently cold temp.
Desired outcome: Increased surveillance of seafood temps and quality.
Self Service Register attendent
This compliant is against Stop n Shop Store No 639. We were in the store doing the weekly shop on Friday 10/8/21 at 4:45 pm
My husband convinced me to try the self service registers again. The new registers are not friendly to those of us who are in a hurry and need to shop quickly and move on to the next task. The self service registers require you to scan your item 1 at a time and place it on the bagger and then you can pick it up again and put it in your bag. Not helpful but I get it you are trying to prevent those who cheat and steal.
On Friday 10/8/21 I was pressed for time and needed to get in and out quickly. After several attempts of tying to scan items quickly and put them in my bag and the register required the attendant to come and clear the register so I could continue. The attendant was not nice and told me that if I did not like the new registers then I should go grocery shopping somewhere else. She then refused to clear the register and called for her supervisor who had to stand there and watch me scan each item and place it on the bagger and wait for the register to accept my scan and go on to the next item - really are you kidding me. This is unacceptable and the attendants lack of customer service and mouthing off was not necessary.
For self service registers we are doing the bagging and paying for our groceries. The attendant is standing there earning a salary and I guess she wants to do nothing for that salary.
Desired outcome: I would like Stop n Shop to re-train this young lady on customer service and keep her mouth in check. I am the customer and the self service machines are very frustrating.

went to this store morning as i do every sat and employees do not wear a mask--INCLUDING the store manager. he wears his under his chin, if at all and other employees dont wear one at all. delivery people also do not wear one while putting their products on the shelf ( Pepsi- cola). today they were making an announcement- employees must wear their badges with their name.
More concerned about that than the mask. i said something to a person i believe was higher up than the store mgr as he was checking to see if employees had their badges on . very argumentative he stated if you have been vaccinated you dont need to wear a mask. BUT their isn't anybody at the entrance checking to see if customers entering the store have been vaccinated. how do the customers know if the employees has been vaccinated-- can i ask to see their vaccination card? so i guess the stop and shop motto is do as i say not as i do.
i found his attitude for a person in a mgmt position appalling. i told him i was going to contact the corp office and send the pictures i took and he told me - go ahead. so here i am filing a complaint. i will try to send pictures of the employees without mask if you want me to. i have a new phone and am not too great with the smartphone but i will do my best if you want them.
also produce employees touch the fruits and vegetable with their bare hands. no gloves. Disgusting!,
other complaints i have is the fresh produce is anything but fresh. strawberries get mold the next day, fruits are bruised, peppers are sold by the piece not by the pound. who in their right mind is going to pay 1.50 for one pepper? go to any other supermarket and they are sold by the pound.
the bread section always has bread/rolls that have an expiration date within two to three days. you need to eat the bread the same day or next before it expires. you need to check the date of every loaf of bread to find a date of a loaf of bread / rolls that will last a week- if you are lucky. they stock the bread racks next to the bathrooms before putting the bread out on display!
this week chicken was on sale- buy one get one free. there were none out on display. i asked the woman in the meat dept who is always mumbling under her breath about the customers and was told the truck came in at 3am this morning and its still on the truck. dont know when they will come out. the sale started yesterday- friday and the chicken is on the truck. i went to the butcher area and asked for the chicken, the guy went in the back and brought out two for me. so it was not on the truck, they just dont put them out.
the fresh meat is turning brown, don't know when was the last time i could find fresh red meat. if stop and shop didn't sell chicken they wouldn't need a meat display. pork is also brownish color.
frozen food sits out in the aisles for hours no one in sight to put the food in the freezer. i guess its suppose to defrost first and then its ok to put it in the freezer to refreeze.
the yesterday's bakery section. they cut up stale dated bakery items- cake for example and the price is marked down, but if you take all of the pieces of the stale dated cake that would make up the cost of a fresh cake it cost the same . does stop and shop think people are stupid?
shelves are empty, the store is in disarray. the entrance and exit areas always have items close to the point of egress. god forbid if the customers had to leave in an emergency, it would be impossible without tripping over the racks. fire hazard!
i could go on and on. however the main point of my complaint is the non-wearing mask by the employees and most of all the MANAGER at stop and shop.
something needs to be done about this location and if it things cant be changed then do everyone a favor and close it down, it is a health hazard.

Produce
Produce that doesn't even feel ripe is brown, black or clear inside (rancid). My guess is this stuff was previously frozen..? Not sure, but, it happens too frequent with the same types and much of the produce to be happenstance... The picture are 4 mangoes that didn't even feel fully ripe yet... Found weird racidity in their banans, apples, cucumber, potatoes, mozarella cheese (red mold), etc. And each of these on MANY occasions. I will no longer get my produce there. Could they be buying this stuff second hand?

I realize that once large scale changes are implemented, it's unlikely that they will change, but one can dream. After the third consecutive use of the new self checkout system at Stop and Shop, I can state with conviction, if you don't want customers to check themselves out, just remove the option. It seems like that would be cheaper than completely overhauling the existing system(while flawed, still worked well 90% of the time), and replacing it with something I don't think Dante could have conjured up on his worst day. Now that a little time has passed, my frustration has lessened to the point that I only wish to see the people that conjured this abomination from whatever cursed abyss it came from, to be forced to use it.

There have been only a handful of times in my life that I wished I could witness some sort of karmic retribution for people that have so little moral compass that they would invent something like this, and I think most of those times have been while standing in front of this machine listening to it cheerfully remind me to scan an item that was, in point of fact, already scanned.
To anyone still reading this, congratulations! I expect no change, but hope that it's made known to the people in charge that the new system leaves everything to be desired.
Desired outcome: Either make the system useable, or return to the old self checkout.
Unsafe food storage
I was in your East Setauket NY store at 8:30am last night. When i got to the last aisle with the refrigerated food, i found construction workers taking a shrink wrap material and have the aisle completely taped off and also the refrigerated case with the eggs being taped off. I went to try and finish my shopping and was told that the cases were off limits and i could not buy anything from them by the workers. I asked why there was no signs indicating that because I would have went to Shoprite or a different supermarket. I also asked why the open food as in the eggs, were not being removed and stored somewhere else during construction. I was told that it does not need to be. That s against the New York state health code.
When I went to the front to check out, I asked to speak with the manager. When I asked about signage for information, and why would you block an aisle so early, he told me that he did not know they were doing that and noone in the building thought about putting up a sign.
I then asked about the health concerns and the opened food in the one case. He stated that he would contact the corporate office in the morning. Which negates and does nothing for all the construction last night. His lack of caring was completely unprofessional.
I will no longer be shopping at your company. I would rather go the longer distance and shop at Shoprite.

The past 8 months have demonstrated a decline in courtesy, and in fact passive aggression conduct by a minority of the younger employees at this store. Please take these issues seriously as they have been the comments of many customers in your Northport Long Island store,
1.Your prices are raised every few MONTHS on almost everything in the store.This started as soon as covid-19 hit in 2020.It is outrageous now, disgraceful.
I only shop in this store if I am near it.
2. Your self-service computers consistantly don't funtion, not the belts nor the computers themselves.
I no longer use them. I will use a cashier.
3.Employees do not tell the customers your stop and shop card is useless, unless you are computer literate.So, you deceive the public by thinking their stop and shop items are being discounted because your card is being used.

deli cheeses
purchased mozzarella today. None with the exception of Belgioso were priced.
It is infuriating! I need to know the cost to determine if I can afford the product.
I spoke to an associate who didn't work in the deli area and he told me to go to the deli. The deli folks [3] didn't know where to locate a scanner to price the mozz. Come on - training of staff is lacking.
I know this store #710 is an orphan as it is really yucky. The floor has needed replacement for years. The staff are not happy - ever and the ice cream freezer has needed replacement for years. When one goes to other stores this one pales in comparison.
There are products I rely on and I need to know the costs. Please have upper management visit, unannounced. Email back assuring me you are either closing the store or upgrading and cleaning.
Train the staff to do their job correctly. Price each and every piece of merchandise so others, like me know the cost of an item and can stay within budget.

I have been making many attempts to submit an application for my sister in law for a cashiers job at the Squire Rd Stop & Shop in Revere Ma. 02151.
My complaint is after filling out all her information on line and submitting it,
the manager says he cannot find the application .I went back on line to redo
the application but cannot find a direct e-mail for the application. The web site I want to get into gets involved with many company's.
I just want a direct web site for stop & shop.No other company's .
The manager will not accept an application printed from the site or give her a fax number to send it if could print it off line if I could find it again.
