chukbok 15 piece heavy bottom stainless steel cookware set
On the 6th of July, I bought the 15 piece heavy bottom stainless steel cookware set and surprisingly my order was delivered on the 9th of July. Unfortunately I was not at the office at the time that it was delivered at my workplace. I only got a chance to open my parcel in the evening and I must say, I was not happy at all with the quality of the spoons and shovel. They look rusty and that is a safety hazard because I will be dishing out meals with them. I don't know how one can package such for a customer but I would like to request that they be replaced or you can come fetch the whole set and I get my money back.
substandard service delivery
I ordered goods via Takealot earlier in this week. The goods are worth +-R800. I was promised delivery today (29.06.2018). At around 11h00-12h00 I logged in to track my order. The message on the tracking was that I missed the delivery. I called Takealot, who responded with 'you did not answer your call when the delivery man was there'.. and he apparently left. I received no such call and argued that I would like to see the delivery call log.. as I am not a LIAR... They then rescheduled for tomorrow (30.06.2018)and sent a SMS to confirm. I left my phone in my house at around 17h00 as I stepped outside, and when I returned back in, the phone had missed calls on. I immediately returned the call, and to my surprise it was the delivery company. They were apparently at my gate for my delivery but had left in the 10 minutes I was out...
They state they will deliver tomorrow (30.06.2018), as per the delivery employee. We will see.
I am angry because in the first place, I was lied to about a call that was not received... Secondly, Takealot reschedules for 30.06.2018, and unexpectedly the delivery company arrives without my knowledge at my gate...
I have not received my goods, and am fairly certain I probably never will!
One would expect the best service from the largest online service provider in SA, yet it seems it is the worst.
ordered items not delivered as they don't have stock
I ordered a Nokia 8 cover and screen protector on Monday 25/06/2018 and was advised it would be delivered by Friday at the latest and then now, close of business Friday 29/06/2018 I get an email to say they don't have it in stock. I have already paid, and I'm waiting for delivery and then 4 days later you realise we don't actually have this item?! It's a huge inconveniencce as I will be flying out on Monday and I planned this in such a way that I would be 100% sure this would be delivered before my trip. I am a first time customer with takealot so I had no idea that this kind of thing happens. I thought that when you place an order it would be for something they have in stock, surely?
Ref number; 5446022 - I just called to find out if they can help me but the solution is "wait 3 - 4 working days" and hopefully they might have this in stock next week. So it isn't even guaranteed. I'm so frustrated.
not receiving my order
I ordered a gift on Thursday and it was promised to arrive on Tuesday. Today is Friday and my flight is leaving without the order. This is very disappointing since I purposefully chose takealot to guarantee speed. Its instances like these that makes one switch to a different provider! If there are problems, let me know I could have made a plan. No I am going empty handed when I paid a lot of money.
delivery / poor service

I wanted to complain about the poor unprofessional service from both Takealot and Fast and Furious couriers.
I placed an order on 22 June 2018, my order was completed and at the couriers on the 24 June 2018, I was supposed to receive the parcel on 27 June 2018.
I made several phone calls to both Takealot and the couriers Fast and Furious. They just kept promising to call back but nobody called back.
I called from 8 am on the 28 June as well same story lies and excuses.
The disappointment is that these were gifts for my kids.
I am a regular customer at Takealot but they don't care.
What if another 1000 unsatisfied customers stop supporting them your company will close down.
I suggest you treat your customers better and jack up on your service.

My watch broke and i sent it back since there is a warrntee on the watch and than i get an email asking for payment when i havnt ordered anything. I still have no feedback on my watch its been over a week and everytime i call them there 4 options given are incorrect meaning each option i select say the number you've chosen is incorrect so im very frustrated not knowing what to do how to get into contact with them
takealot distribution centre - complaint
Dear Take a lot,
You have a distribution center operating from Schoonmill, on the corner of Schoonder and Mill street Gardens, Cape Town.
All take lot drivers are parking illegally, making noise after-hours and repairing their motorcycles in the street everyday and has caused quite mess, please take a look at the images attached.
Please note that since take a lot has moved in we have had very little space to park, we cannot drive on the road due to all the vehicles parked illegally on pavements and sidewalks. All your drivers hoot constantly at the gate while trying to exit and enter the offices at all hours of the day, even after hours. Your drivers are also using the existing space to repair their bikes leaving oil stains and parts laying around on the sidewalk.
While we understand that you are operating a business, we also expect your team to respect the fact that they are operating in a neighborhood where people live and sleep, essentially your customers since I also buy from takealot. Whats more surprising is that I have full view of all your delivery teams and how they handle takealot products before they are delivered to your clients, this is very concerning to see…
I really would like to discuss this matter urgently with someone at takealot. I have tried my best to establish contact with the local manager, but no one seems to care and no one has gotten back to me
I'd like this matter attended to immediately and looking forward to someone at takealot to contact me.

i purchased a samsung phone last year march 2017.
i complained regarding a mark on the screen i was told it is too late to return.
subsequently after having used the phone for almost a year it started giving problems.
i was told to log a return.
it was charging fine when i sent it in.
it was just freezing all the time.
i was then told to pay about R6000 FOR THE REPAIR.
i cannot afford it si i asked them to return to me.
having got the phone today, i now see that it is damaged and cannot even charge.
there is a further mark on the screen.
i purchase from take a lot on a regular basis.
i am dissatisfied that the phone was not returned in its original condition that i sent it in.
i want an answer to the shoddy handling and inspection of the phone.

None of theat happened.Over the past week, I've made about 5 follow up calls and keep getting the same response from your consulltants: "We will follow it up and send you feedback via email"

Laptop-unauthorised swopped processor board - downgraded without permission
To whom it may concern I make reference to takealot.com reference number RRN-09ba-a8d4 log on 24 April 2018. 1. We have received this unit on 04 June 2018, Upon trying to recover the system, it was noted that the recovery discs was not compatible with this laptop. 2. Thereafter we checked the specifications of this machine, and to our surprise found out that the replacement motherboard and components are not to the original machine specifications. The machine has been downgraded (unauthorised) from and i7 -7th generation to a i5 processor board. 3. This unit was received in a poor condition, scratches on the top of the lid and underneath the unit. This seems like screwdriver marks. I have tried to contact the repair center, but there is no answer! PLEASE COLLECT THIS MACHINE AS A MATTER OF URGENCY. NOTE: I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS UNIT IN THIS CONDITION, IT NEEDS TO BE EITHER REFUNDED OR REPLACED WITH A NEW MACHINE. I AM A VERY DISAPPOINTED TAKEALOT.COM CUSTOMER.
Fast and furious couriers - rustenburg

We are very unhappy with the service of Fast and Furious Courier services. They were supposed to deliver our package mid-May. They did contact us but they didn't want to deliver the parcel at our door, he said he will arrange for someone else to do the delivery.
Then we received a mail stating that the order is being send back to takealot, that we cancelled the order but this is not true we never cancelled the order!

Is there anyone who could assist? Their (fastnfurious) Hellopeter complaints leave much to be desired. I cannot believe Takealot would use such an unreliable company for their deliveries. I haven't had an issue with them up until this fiasco and I am seriously going to reconsider my future online shopping decisions after this is all over

Fast and Furious are very incompetent. Most of time they deliver very late. What hurts me most is that, on Thursday the 4th of March 2021, they delivered my package and stole my Amarula that I had ordered. They opened the box on the side and removed the Amarula. I am still very heartbroken because Takealot did not even to anything to follow it up with the courier or to replace my missing item. Pls always assess your box before accepting especially when you know it has alcohol in it. If you see anything suspicious, take your and record everything.
Problem with order
Hi, regarding order #[protected], it was scheduled for delivery yesterday so I made sure I stayed home to receive it. Nothing was delivered and nobody contacted me. Every single time I order something from takealot there is always a problem and it never gets sorted out.
Please make sure I get my delivery today.
This kind of rubbish service again and again is completely unacceptable.

Tom tom runner 3 strap
Hi there. My sons Tom Tom runner 3 watch strap broke clean off at the attachment point to the metal clasp. The watch was not dropped or mishandled, but broke whilst undressing.
The watch is approx 4 months old.
If you would like to see the strap to verify that the breakage is not due to mishandling, pls let me know.
My son is 7 years old, has saved like crazy for the watch and is bitterly disappointed at the breakage. A new watch strap has been ordered on take a lot for R499. Many thanks.

I ordered pots from Take a lot on 19 May 2018, when the product arrived the quality was horrible, so I returned the item. Then I called to find out when I will get my refund as I paid cash, the people I spoke to at the returns department were extremely rude and unfriendly, implying that I should know online shopping processes and that I can't get my money back immediately. Which in my opinion is not good at all, I pay COD so I want my money back COC. Then I ordered new pots, I called several times, but on Thursday I spoke to Mikayla and she said it won't be a problem to offset the credit amount on my new orders, today when it arrived, the delivery guy (who is an absolute sweetheart, Willie) said he has to get paid in full, so I called again and spoke to another lady who could not assist me in offsetting the outstanding cash amount to the credit.
This to me was unacceptable, I had to leave and go and draw the money to pay the courier in full, while I want for my refund.
I do understand that you have terms and conditions and policies and procedures, but surely you can simplify this. You are not the only or the first company who offers online shopping, you should learn from Wish...
And I cancelled an order last week, they still delivered it today, what is going on with Take a lot.
Take a lot used to be my favourite shopping destination, but I am seriously considering using a different supplier, as the service are crap and the people working for you are very rude and presumptions.

However, If i am paying R 375.00 for a book I expect that book to arrive immaculately. Due to poor packaging it has arrived with damage to the soft cover so the treasure I waited to obtain for over a year until you guys offered it for sale is somewhat of a let down.

Nappies not delivered
I bought two boxes of mega boxes on takealot on the 14 may. I was told that my order was delivered to the wrong address and ill get my delivery in a week. Fine, only one box was delivered. And I have been calling ever since to try and get my other box.. But with no help.. Your consultants are very unprofessional and unhelpful. I have been sent from pillar to posts.. I ended up spending more money now on buying nappies, whereas I already paid for my nappies by you guys.
Please sort this mess out, asap.. I'm really pissed off with your guys pathetic service. Give me my money back if you cant deliver. I will never ever buy from you guys ever again.

I would like to ask why your delivery process is now so hideous? What has changed? You used to be so efficient and buying stuff online was a breeze but now you're absolutely my last option because of your delivery process. I was supposed to receive an order today, 21st May but you have just sent me a message to move it to tomorrow. (order #[protected]). I don't sit at home the whole day waiting for you to deliver my stuff. If you give me a date, stick to it please. I am highly disappointed in your services.
Incorrect product delivered
I am really irritated with Takealot and the service just seems to be getting worse every time. The systems in place are so excessive that it's actually just a pain. It's a Friday afternoon and I was so looking forward to receiving my order so that I could use the stuff I bought but because it's a Friday afternoon your systems can only accommodate me on Monday which is absolute BS. You have your strict policies in place ie. Spend more than R450 for free delivery, you have to wait 2 days for your stuff to be delivered etc. but when it arrives it's the wrong product. I don't think it is fair that I should spend my money with Takealot receive something someone else has ordered because they've obviously been mixed up and then have to wait a week for the issue to be resolved. If you want to have such anal resolution systems then don't make so many mistakes or at least be a bit more accommodating because it is your mistake and not mine.
Do they actualy respond to this complaints?

I bought chukbok pots, loved them so much. Just the kids and handles kept falling, but the quality and how easily they wash made me happy. I then bought a second set, this set rusted in a year and has holes at the bottom and rusts into the food.
