Return of defective software
I purchased Microsoft Office Pro 2021 from Takealot on March 3rd. It arrived as only a product key on a piece of paper without any download instructions. I did however manage to download the software, but when I tried to register the software, I was told that the product key had already been used. I requested a return immediately and Takealot collected it the next day. That's where everything came to a grinding halt and all attempts, included several calls, to get them to conclude the return and to refund me have failed. All calls were simply answered with "it will be escalated to the responsible department." It is now 10 days since the product was returned and still no refund.

I logged a return of my cellphone on 11 Feb 2022. My phone is still under warranty. I was not at home when they collected. They declined my retur due to the charger cable being worn. My domestic worker gave them the incorrect charger. They continued arguing with me about the charger but did not even send my phone to the supplier to test it and give a test report which is standard procedure. They then returned my phone via courier on 14th of feb 2022 which i declined to take as the issue was still under investigation. It was retuned to take a lot on the 16th. I then asked them did they send it to the supplier for a test report to which they answered no. I insisted they do this and the told me they will. 21 feb i rec this Hi there. Please see our warehouse feedback regarding your return query:
"The charger is damage the supplier wont accept the phone with the fault not charging and the charger is damaged,warranty void."
After i explained 5 days in a row it was not the phones charger. On the 22nd they sent me a msg saying they are returning my phone to me. When i receive the phone i should repackage it with the correct charger and log a new return

On the 29th of January 2022, we returned a laptop that we had bought from Takealot, because it had stopped working. They promised that they will get it fixed failure to which they will refund us our money. Till today 10th of March 2022, we haven't received neither the laptop nor the refund money. So I ordered 4 tyres, after completing the order the due date changed by two weeks. On the due date they did not update me only after several calls they e-mailed me. Delivery to the wrong pick up point. I had to cancel so many arrangements made due to this. There post service delivery is non-existant.

I bought a PS4 charging and cooling fan console for his birthday in on the 2 February 2022, the first item arrived and was not functional, which any person can understand it is technology and it can happen, the item was returned with not discomfort, it took a while to get a new item, they have decided to send me a X-Box one console charging kit and console we are now at the 15 Feb and i have to once again return the product, this makes me skeptical of buying from Take a Lot, as i would then rather pay an extra amount and go to a shop. it takes the joy and convivence of online shopping away and serves no more purpose other than head and heart ache.

Poor Courier Services
Fast And Furious Couriers are an ATROCIOUS courier company that does not respect their contractors or their clients. They are fast to make their clients Furious! I cannot believe that a mega company like Takealot.com that can associate themselves with such a poor reviewed company like Fast And Furious Couriers. Since Takealot.com started using this courier our (me and all my neighbors in the same area) packages never gets delivered to our doors anymore. The courier simply drops the package in a town they decide, in this case Laingsburg, which is 64km drive from my house(even further for some of the other neighbors). Fast and Furious courier driver simply refuse to deliver the packages and Takealot's couriers has ALWAYS delivered to us before. So if I want my package, this means that I have to take at least 3 hours time off from my farm and business to make a 128 km roundtrip with additional diesel expenses (since delivery fees were paid to the courier through the contractor via me the client). I see this as fraud and robbery. What is the point in using a courier? I might as well then drive 110km to Oudtshoorn or Mosselbay and do the shopping myself. I will not let this issue rest with Takealot.com and Fast and the Furiuos Couriers untill this courier changes their service or close their doors.

Refuse to test/repair/replace item still under guarantee
Booked a return for the remote of my Xioami device. On the return request I stipulated that I cannot included the complete system as we cannot sit without TV and that I have replaced the broken remote with a usb keyboard.
11/12/21-21/12/21 they were in possession of the broken remote. Nothing was repaired and they refuse the test the broken item. This is not the 1st time I have problems with returns that is why I even included the batteries as they previously refused to replace a broken item, simply because the batteries weren't' included.

So my remote was sent back to me after I requested they return the broken item that they simply refused to test/repair or replace. That was on the 14th of December. I received the broken item back on 21/12/2021. So to date they send the same boring rhyme and I am just glad I didn't sit for 2 weeks without tv because this is the type of service they provide to replace/repair one of their faulty or broken items.
