My grandson was eating at waffle House a couple of Saturday's ago and he paid for his food with cash, well his father sent his credit card with him to purchase him a to go order which was placed well the credit card didn't go thru and the staff told him (mind you he's only 16) he could bring the money back by the end of the shift. well he gets home his dad is already in bed so he calls the waffle House to let them know that his dad is asleep, btw he eats at that waffle House two times a week maybe more, well they told him they were going to call the police by then he was scared to death and called his mother and she gave him the money to pay it. I worked at waffle House for more than 20 years with Cathy Bostic, as I recall you don't let customers come back and pay, you don't threaten a 16 year old kid with the police about a mistake that you made, I think the kid needs an apology he won't even go back in there because he's too embarrassed. might I add he lives in gray he goes to school in gray and he is a regular customer at the waffle house in gray. I think the staff that night handled this situation with a total lack of authority and tried to threaten a customer to cover their own tracks, if it werent for customers we wouldnt have a waffle house. my name is Ruby Joiner and that 16 year old was my grandson all the bragging ive always told my grandkids about while I worked at waffle house the good customers the not so good customers the busy nights working the holidays etc. etc. etc. all the years ive never let a customer come back before the shift ends to pay their tab. I was a master grill operator and I know the rules of waffle house and I wont stop until my grandson gets a formal apology, this should never have happened especially threatening him with the police. poor staff team work that night
