Dear Concerned,
I am writing to you as an aggrieved customer of Airtel. I have been following up on this issue with Airtel for last two months but have not got any satisfactory response till date.
Issue:
3G was activated on my mobile on 3rd July 2011. While opting for 3G plan, Airtel executive did not mention all the plans so that I could make the best choice. Rs 675 plan was not told to me which was relatively a cheaper plan.
While the 3G plan was active I received some random SMS from Airtel on GPRS usage and to pay certain sum of money. Since I was well within the free usage I called the call center to enquire about the SMS being sent to me. I was told by call center executive to ignore these messages.
I was never given regular update on the 3G usage. Since there was no regular update on the 3G usage, I decided to call the call center to enquire the usage of 3G, however, I was never given the details. Every time I called Airtel they told me that the data is not available or server is down etc. They used to promise me a call back but never gave a call back. I never received the details even when I sent a pull SMS “3GUSE” to Airtel.
One of the SMS I got from Airtel on 3G use was till 80% of free usage. No SMS was sent to me from airtel post 80% free usage. Not sure if Airtel intentionally wants to keep its customers in dark so that the usage crosses Free limit and they can charge Huge sum of money.
Around 15th of July 3G services on my mobile was barred without any prior information to me. When I called the call center they could not provide any details and asked me to call post 2nd Aug as the bill would get generated on 2nd Aug.
Post 2nd Aug, when I called the call center I was told that the bill amount for my 3G usage is Rs. 20, 188/- Seriously speaking I almost had a heart attack, 20K for two weeks of 3G usage?
The bill sent to me of Rs 20, 188 is very very high. I have not used so much of 3G to get such a high bill. I have not got any clarity/explanation from Airtel on this till date.
Later when I asked for the detail bill I found the following discrepancies in the bill. I have raised similar concern with Airtel but no satisfactory response till date.
1. 3G on my mobile was activated on 3rd July. However detailed bill for my number shows 3G usage of 14 KB and 56229 KB on 2nd July.
2. As per the SMS sent to me on 15th Jul 12.22 pm “Your 3G data usage as on 13th Jul is 1322 MB”. However as per the detailed bill sent to me the data usage by end of 13th Jul is 1880 MB. Bill has been inflated by more than 500 MB.
3. As per the SMS sent on 16th Jul 21.57 pm, “Presently there is no 3G data plan active on your number. To avail a data plan of your choice SMS 3G to 121”. However as per the bill there is a 3G usage of 375532 KB ie 366.73 MB on 17th July and 3 KB usage on 18th July.
4. As per the detailed bill there is a usage of 3G at morning around 3 am or 4 am on 6th, 7th, 10th 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th 18th. All these usage are for 1 – 4 KB only. I don’t think someone would use 3G for 1 or 2 KB at night 3 am. There seems to be a major problem with the bill.
5. As per the bill my Credit limit is Rs. 5000/- Why didn’t Airtel disconnect 3G on my mobile when the bill crossed Rs 5000/- why did it wait for the bill to reach Rs 20k.
I have raised all these concerns to Airtel for last 2 months, however, there has not been any satisfactory response from them.
Please note that I have not used so much of 3G to get such a high bill. My usage has been well within free usage limit. Airtel has not update me on the status of my usage through regular SMS. Nor has Airtel provided me information whenever I have called or SMS them.
I believe that this is a clear case of misleading the customer and not providing good service and complete information. It is a case of inflating the bill and cheating the customer.
I am writing to you with lot of hope that you would intervene in getting my case resolved and save me from mental harassment being caused to me by Airtel.

I had posted the same complaint on 9th October, and Mr Rakesh from Airtel mentioned that the issue has been resolved, however, pls note that no one has worked on my complaint at all.
I didnt understand why was it written by Mr Rakesh that my issue is resolved in complaints board site when it has not been resolved?

Why are you just simply commenting that the issue is resolved, when the same is not resolved.

frequent disconnection of internet/iptv line - non responsive customer service
tired of horrible customer service from airtel. ive complained about 9 times now in the last one week about the same problem - frequent disconnection of internet/iptv line. somehow my complaints automatically get resolved without anyone calling me or visiting my place. and i have to complain again. my friends with mtnl connections tell me that they fair better when its comes to customer service

I am aitrel DTH’s old customer with customer ID [protected] and have 2 DTH connections.
I Booked 3rd AIRTEL DTH on 28th of sept. 2011 through their customer care and paid full amount through their IVR system from my CITI Bank Credit Card.
At the time of booking I was told that within 48 hr. my DHT will be installed.
Today 6 days has been passed and still there is no clue of my Product and money. Even no phone call regarding the delivery & installation.
I taled to Mr. Himanshu om 30th Sept 2011, and he told me that within 10 mins technical department will call you. But nobody called me.
In evening I called again and talk to ms. Shawiti, she told me that withinmg 24 your DTH will be installed or we will refund your money.

I am Vidya My customer ID is [protected] i booked this airtel dth hd through IVR on sep 26th'2011. i just called to know about the offer. they immediately connected me to the sales and marketing dept. one person named Prachi spoke to me and forced me to make the payment immediately and also confirmed that the connection will be done in 48 hours so i paid through IVR with my HDFC credit card for Rs. 3290 - HD + 12M subscription for South Value Pack. HDFC Transaction ID - 023801 i got msg from airtel for the payment of 1540 towards DTH only. later no calls from Airtel i myself tried calling back and found the nearest dealer and it was 603202 - guduvanchery. my location is urapakkam. the distributor Named Bhaskaran installed the set of box and dish after intense follow up. but no channels were seen the balance amount showing is NIL. if i msg as Bal from my registered mobile number, i get a reply from 54325 as that mobile number is not been registered.
i had called the customer care ppl more than 80 times till date even today morning i tried following up. i need to tell the whole story to each and every one and they will put me on hold for hours and no reply the call will get cut by itself. everyone says they have sent a mail to technical team, they will call me.. but nothing is happening.
If Airtel is not capable of doing things i request you to kindly take the box and dish and refund the money to me. unwanted issues and problem in personal level because of Airetel. the worst ppl i have ever seen. irritated me a lot and are the cause for my current disturbed mindset. i dont want Airtel connection any more refund the amount of 3290 that i had paid.

I was having Mobile phone connection No. [protected] from B.S.N.L. About more than four months ago, I ported my number to Bharti Airtel and my number remained the same. Since I was not satisfied with the service of Airtel, I intended to leave Airtel and port to Vodafone and the matter was communicated to the agent of Airtel at Hoshiarpur. A message on my mobile phone was received on 1.8.2011 at 12.48 PM stating that my porting number was AP769535 and date of expiry was 16.8.2011 but the Porting Code when applied by Vodafone was not accepted. The services of Airtel, on my mobile connection has not been stopped/closed till today and due to this I am unable to port to Vodafone. E-mails in this regard have also been sent to [protected]@in.airtel.com on 17.8.2011, 1.9.2011, 7.9.2011 and 9.9.2011 and the acknowledgements of the same have been received with the message that a complaint has been raised with the relevant team and the Unique Service Request number of [protected] was allotted to me, but the Unique Porting Code for shifting to Vodafone has not been provided to me till date. E-mails were also sent in this regard to the Nodal Officer and the Appellate Authority of Airtel at Chandigarh, on 16.9.2011, but I have not received any response. I have also activated the DND service on my number, but still I am receiving the unwanted messages on my phone and balance has been deducted twice from my account for the services that I have not subscribed to.

I hereby karan sidhu r/o of 4b/7 first floor old rajinder nagar near shankar road new delhi110060 mob no.[protected] is in a serous problem. acutally sir /madam I had a wifi connction at the above mentioned address I paid the rentel for one month after tht I informed your custom care agent to disconnect my wifi connection because for study point of view I was leaving delhi for six months. now when I am back in delhi I took a new connction in the above mentioned address it worked for a week then it got disconnected. I called up your customer care for help I was shocked to hear that my older connection is having a pending amount of 3800 rupees it is impossible because after paying the rental for a month I informed your customer care to disconnect it but he didnt did it seem so that why the bill is pending for 3800 rupees. sir / madam no informating regarding the bill pending was informed to me. now sir / madam I need your helf sir I need my new connection to work. sir / madam I will be highly oblized if you see to my problem as soon as possible.

I'm a user of Airtel postpaid connection. I suspect my call records are being tracked and misused by my some person with ill motive, the person is making unsolicited calls all my colleagues whom i have called a few times or texted using my above mentioned number and insulting me and threatening them not to speak to me.There is no other way for anyone to obtain the information on whom i have contacted over phone than through my call records and there has been a serious breach of my privacy.
My colleagues have received calls in middle of night from this number +91 [protected] and is causing nuisance to my
colleagues and embarrassment to me.
I request you to let me know if you can verify at your end if there has been breach of my private data either by technology
team or by any other outlets giving out my call records to any one other than me. Only my contact details submitted to Airtel should be receiving my bill information, please let me know if any other email id/address is receiving my bill information.
I had taken my concern to Airtel Office Bannerghatta road on 19-Sept-11 and spoke to Mr.Arun who mentioned he is the floor

I had a Airtel Prepaid numebr for more than 6 years. I travelled to USA for business reasons. I had balance for more than 3000 rupees balance in my account. I had it swithced on and was using the phone for incoming calls and incomidng msgs. And had lifetime validaity. one day suddenly they has cancelled all services, when i called to customer care severa times they said as the number was out of use we are cancelling the service. And the sim is no more valid and the number is deactivated. And i cannot get back the number which i was using for more tahn 6 years and with 3000 balance and life time validity. They were repeatedly saying, sorry sir this is our rules. Nohting can be done. I wonder how ILL they treat the genuine customer with fake chating. They are not ready to give back my 3000rupees. not ready to acitvate my number ever in future, they have cheated me in the worst way. "Gone is Gone" is all what they replied.

I am airtel prepaid customer. I am facing lot of problems with this connection. They are deducting the amount from my balance without any reason. Recently they have deducted Rs. 100/- from my balance and started sending cricket alerts. But I have not subscribed for cricket alerts. I am preparing for examinations now. These cricket alerts causing disturbance for my studies. I sent so many messages to disconnect the alerts, but no use. Under my company, I have 5 connections from Airtel. Due to some wrong information provided by the airtel agencies to airtel, Airtel has generated the wrong bills. Please be very careful about airtel post paid bills ... I am very much astonished to see my bills are reaching 1500/- to 2000/- every month without me making that much call, , Once purposely wanted to check so my unbilled amt was 890/- & next day without me making a single call my unbilled amt was increased to 950/- .. so 60/- was increased ... & airtel customer care sucks ... every time i will be made to wait for 8-9mins after executve picks up the call for clarification with there seniors ...

Finally on 3rd December, which is after almost 2 weeks of keeping me in lurch, he picked up to inform that the connection is not possible, as the DP box is full in the region. I would also like to bring to your notice that the cheque was already encashed by this time and remains unrefunded still.
Airtel could not find a better way to post profits in its financial statement at the time of recession it seems! thus started cheating prospective customers...
they are deducting unfair amount every day for nothing by sending sms for renewal of their cricket or movie or
games downloading. while contacting there customer care or technical support for the pupose they assure falsely that now onwards there will be no deduction but some hours later we receive a sms again that such n such amount has been deducted against renewal of such services and surprise is that the complaint was made for same problem few minutes or hours ago.
this is simply cheating and unfair practise. their customer care centre are being paid for this kind of jobs like loot to public and get money to airtel. these customer care paeople are also not forwarding the key persons name cell no. too to contact directly for some repeatative cheating business or i think their key persons are also involved in this cheating business.

Airtel company has been deducting a huge amount from his credit balance every month mercilessly. ( For proof I
have images of his screen) Now there is one more customer on whose mobile company has applied Seven Schemes.

You can check it like this.

(HAVE YOU SENT)...OKAY
You will get back a message of last 5 deductions made by Airtel, made with or without your
consent.
These days Airtel is deducting Re. One per day per scheme in general. You will be astonished
that these deductions are made early in the morning.
You do try this message every week to save your money from such company.
Now if you want to stop these schemes follow these steps.
1. Send ' STOP' to 121
(HAVE YOU SENT)...OKAY
You will get back a message like this if their is a VAS on you mobile.
"The following services are active on your mobile. To reply type the serial number of the service that you wish to
'STOP'

6...& so on
You can know from above message that how many VAS are applied on your mobile by the company. If you want to STOP
these services then follow the steps.

Don't send STOP sms to 121 and UNS to 52906 you are confirming that you have subscribed this service. You should never send request for un subscription if you have not subscribed. Ask service provider to remove the service and refund the money deducted.

manipulation of account for forced upgrades
Company does not provide broadband usage pattern from their side nor am i given access to my broadband usage.
This month the company has decided to minimize my 4mb, with 10gb space account only in a few days to force me to upgrade. I hardly download & they expect me to believe that i can browse away 10 gb in a few days, who are they trying to fool. I know my usage patter since the last 4 years. Now despite complaints they will not provide me with my usage pattern or get back to me. This is how Airtel is trying to make money by cheating. Customers beware.

improper billing and un-prefessional approach of executives
I have been using Airtel connection for the last 7-8 years. I changed my connection from Corporate to Individual status. I was told at the time of switching that I will get 6 months free GPRS pack starting from May this year, when I changed the status of my connection.
I got 1 month free GPRS when the amount was not billed to my no.
After that for the last 3 months I have been getting the amount billed to me. I complain every time and Airtel waive off the amount.
This time, they are not doing that. They say that we were waiving off the GPRS charges as Good will gesture and that you have to pay the amount this time. I have called their complaint helpline no. 7-8 times. First I was told that your complaint has been registered and you will get a rely with in 2 days. I got no reply. In my fifth complaint, I was told that you will have to pay the charges coz your free pack has expired. When I told them that it was them you said that I will get free pack, they say it was a mistake and they can not do anything about it and I will have to pay. then they gave me the No. of the Nodal officer. I called the Nodal office 5 times. Every time I am being told that I will get a call with in 2 days and I get no call.
I called 198 last evening and the executive who answered told me that the charges will be waived off. This morning when I called to know my exact due balance, I was told that only Rs. 500 have been reversed and that I will have to pay the balance Rs. 1250.
The way the executives were talking was very unprofessional and very impolite.
I again called the Nodal office and was told that I will get a call immediately. But it has been 5 hours and I have got no call.
I am thinking of filing a legal complaint against mental torture harassment.

We had taken a Corporate connection No. [protected] in the name of Alphion India Private limited, Ferns Icon, Level 1, Doddanakundi Bus Stop, Marathahalli Post, Bangalore – 560 037 after submitting all necessary documents with your local Field Officer Mr. Anbu Mob No. [protected]. The connection was activated on 3rd June along with Blackberry Services. However the services were suspended within a week stating that the documents were not in order. The local agent and team leader were alerted who reinstated the connection but to our surprise was out of service once again within another 15 days.
At this juncture Airtel office in Bangalore was contacted who deputed a field officer, coordinated by Ms. Pooja Mob No. [protected], who advised us to resubmit the documents once again to avoid further disconnection. The list of documents to be submitted also was obtained. Accordingly, fresh documents were submitted to the Airtel outlet in 100 ft road Indiranagar on 8th August 2011. The documents were verified and found in order and was accepted by the front office. Ms. Pooja was kept in loop on submission of documents.
The following documents were submitted to Airtel outlet on the advice of the field Office:
1. Customer relationship form No.5152
2. Authorization to the undersigned by Alphion Board
3. Letter of undertaking by the undersigned.
4. Certificate of incorporation
5. Copy of MoA duly attested by the undersigned.
6. Address proof of the Company (Copy of BSNL Bill for Phone No. [protected])
7. Copy of Company PAN Card
8. ID proof of the undersigned (PAN Card)
9. Address proof of the undersigned (Airtel Bill for Phone No.[protected]
On verification and acceptance of the documents, the connection was once again activated on the same day. We have been regularly receiving the Bills and being paid on time on relationship No. [protected].
To our surprise once again received SMS on 17th August that incoming calls will be restricted as the documents submitted were not in order. Once again Ms. Pooja was contacted who assured us that the documents were OK.
However, the service has once again been suspended w.e.f 7th August 2011 for the same reason.
I would like to submit to you that frequent disconnections has placed us in an extremely inconvenient situation. The phone connection and BB services are expected to be 24/7 for continuous monitoring of our business being global.
We still are confident that Bharti Airtel will look into this inconvenience and I request the concerned to immediately intervene and take necessary steps to set this right.

I am surendra kumar from Hyderabad holding Airtel Broadband and fixedline phone. Airtel is harassing me from last 3 months for there wrongly billed amount of 1500.

Pls note that i am disappointed with the service of Airtel of Chennai. My phone number is [protected] and had called me on 26th august, 2011 at approx 16:06hrs. That time i had spoken to a lady called Ms. Surya. I had informed that i have given ecs of HSBC which they had not been registered. Then i requested them to come to my address and collect the same on 26th morning as i was moving to mumbai that day. The name of the person was also given to them and the had committed for collection of the same.
When i return to duties on 5th September 2011, my staff informed me that no person from Airtel had come for collection. I gave them a call and lodged a complaint on 6th September at 1624 hrs and raised a complaint that the money is still not collected. Since that day..every day they are calling me up and every day i have been telleing them the same story. When i got the other bill, i called them up and they have given me the waiver for the late fee charges, but still the money is not collected.
This shows the callousness of the company and i do not think that they are interested in collection of the same.
Pls note if they do not collect the payment by next wk end, i would be doing a net transfer to them with a complaint in writing addressed to their Chennai top line.
Looking forward for their representative to come and collect the money.

delays in shifting of airtel landline
Hi,
I am a subscriber of Airtel's fixed line service and had requested for a shifting of the land line from my previous address "J-2/28, Ground Floor, DLF City, Phase 2, Gurgaon, Haryana" to my new address "Emilia 3, 13/2, Gardenia Street, Vatika City, Sohna Road, Gurgaon, Haryana" as per service request 1673902, raised on 2nd August 2011.
However, without any response at all, Airtel closed the service request on 17th August 2011 and sent an SMS to my phone [protected] regarding the same. Since my shifting request was NOT completed, I called and inquired with Airtel Customer Service (4444121) about this request closure. I was told that it is not possible to shift to the new destination since the service is not available in that area ! It's quite ridiculous to think that a colony which already has several hundred Airtel fixed line connections in the houses, including my neighbors' house, does not have Airtel service in the area. When I complained about this fact, I was told that a senior team lead would call me within 2 hours, but no such call has come till today. I again called the next day and the response given was that due to "an error in the database update", my request was closed. I cannot imagine what database update error caused this, but since I cannot handle new excuses from Airtel everyday, I have raised another request with the request number 2985316 on 27.08.2011.
But true to its nature, there has been no response so far from Airtel. To further add insult to injury, I am being billed my monthly rental for my connection (Rs. 1399 per month plus taxes) for a service which I cannot use due to Airtel's pathetic response times. I can't understand how Airtel can charge monthly rental when the phone line is in the process of being shifted, a process which I have come to understand can take a few months !
I am requesting your assistance in the said matter to resolve this issue at the earliest. I'm available at the contact details below for any clarifications. Thank you.

Without any reason my prepaid sim is block and when i contact them they said it VOIP BLOCK. but what is Voip..? Now i want my sim back as well as before was.
