customer service
Good Afternoon,
I recently visited store number 13019 in Stockbridge, Ga. On January 16, 2017. After I got home I discovered that all of my items were not given to me. I live about 15 miles from the store in question and would like to be able to pick my purchaseed item up from a location closer to me. I called the location in question to see if that were possible and the representative said that I couldn't get my items replaced at another location, which I find very hard to believe.
The cashier failed to put my 6 pack of sodas on the carousel which resulted in them being left. She also failed to try to notify once I was gone because I was in the parking lot another 5 minutes before leaving. The customer experience at this location would be greatly improved if they spent more time providing Phenomenal customer service as opposed to following patrons around the store in hopes that they can catch a shoplifter.
Respectively,
Ms. Elveria Shaw

I have been a loyal customer with the Dollar General in Wrightsville, Ga for many years and however on the date of 01/14/2017, however a employee was very rude. I asked her for help but instead she carried on a conversation on her personal cellular device. I was needing help with getting an item off the can good shelf. The lines were long and the cashier on the first register called her names many times and she still was on the phone carrying on a conversation with headphones in her ears, and her behavior was upsetting me. I'm NEVER coming back into the store when she's working. I came in Dollar General that morning around 11:30 a.m. and had a question about a item and the cashier didn't understand my question because she stated that was her first day of training, which I understand, but she also did what she suppose to have done and went and got the Manger On Duty and that manger helped me out PERFECTLY!
poor service
I just came out of dollar general with nothing when I had a cart full of merchandise I stood up at the cash regiser for 10 minutes! I went and looked for someone and I couldn't find anyone! I left everything in my cart up at the register. No customer should have to wait 10 minutes. Needless to say I'm never going back to dollar general that was just pathetic.

In reference to dollar general on east st benton arkansas,
This has to be the worst dg store ever. It is so nasty & under stocked. The manager john is so rude to customers & his employees. Talks badly to them in front of customers. How professional is that? I was in there today 1/8/17. A nice gentleman was checking me out, ask did I find everything I needed. He needed johns assistance, in front of all the customers john said" just clock out and go home" he said this twice. I was embrassed for the young man named jeremy. No one should be talked to that way. This is not the first time I witnessed his attitude. The condition of the store looks like an inside yard sale. Honestly. I shop dg about once a week, this is the worst store I have ever seen. Something needs to be done on the apperance of the store and the manager john.
Please update on status of complaint
Want to be updated on this complaint. No one deserves to be talked to that way..
heat in the store
My daughter and I were in Dollar General on Saturday January 7, 2017 on 286 in Plum Boro, Pa and it was as cold in the store as it was outside. We were going to shop for party supplies and valentine decorations and it was much too cold to stay there. I did get a few items but had to leave. I asked the clerk if it is always this cold and she didn't answer me so I knew then it was. She was all bundled up except for hat and gloves working at the register right by the door. I will not shop in that store until they turn the heat on. Two other people complained too. What is up with that? Something should be done about it the conditions are horrible for anyone to work there. Thank you
Corporate controls it all. The heat, the A/C, the lights, etc.
I've called with customers on the phone to no avail.
rude manager at the store on morphy avenue
I was a regular customer at your store but I will never shop there again after an incident that happen last week. I had downloaded coupons and was trying to redeem them in store for my purchase but could not seem to find it saved in with my coupons. So the manager the skinny guy with a really short hair came over to help the cashier and in front of customers basically accused me of already using the coupon and trying to use it again which I had not. He then preceded to tell me that the coupon was the wrong coupon for the item that I was trying to purchase which was clearly labeled for that coupon . I even showed him exactly where I got the item and he stated it was in the wrong place. So upon arriving home I told my husband about the incident and to never shop at the store again and what had happen he then informed me that he had indeed used the coupon at the Robertsdale store on his way home from work. Whether my husband used the coupon or not, I do not appreciate that manager accusing me of trying to use the coupon twice in front of customers. On top of that on Tuesday of this week I was on my way home from a hair appointment and seen this employee of yours at the Dollar Store on 181 by Alegrias, and he looked at me and rolled his eyes. So no I will never shop at one of your stores again if this is how you allow your employees to treat your customers.
Agree with you ma'am. If you have the time, make a report online with DG.com
As for your coupons. Sounds like your husband needs hus own set to use. :)
bad management, abhorrent customer relations
The Churchton, MD, store has a serious customer service problem in that store's manager. I have been a frequent shopper there since it opened, and I have observed this bespectacled, dyed-blond woman on numerous occasions, usually stocking shelves, and turning a blind eye to customers, especially those in line to check out. On one occasion, she was writing and posting sticky notes on the cash registers as one clerk attempted to handle 8-10 customers in a cluster of a line, trying to pay for their goods. The manager made no attempt to get another clerk to the front, or to wait on customers herself. This is emblematic of her dour demeanor and avoidance of eye contact while tending to other tasks, even though her store frequently is out of stock of expected items, and the aisles are often blocked with crates and boxes of merchandise not yet shelved.
Today, however, she did speak. I heard from one aisle over as she approached my 16- and 17-year-old sons and asked what they were doing, as they were retrieving breakfast bars and other school lunch items I asked them to select. My one son, who is on the Autism spectrum, apparently lifted his foot to the bottom of the display rack (and although I could not see, I expect that he failed to make eye contact when he was addressed.) The manager then told them that if they were unaccompanied, she would escort them out of the store, at which time I came around and made my presence known. This woman immediately berated me for not keeping my "children" (one stands 6' 3") under control. She obviously completely failed to notice that my one son is challenged, but I assured her that the guys were not creating a problem, and then addressed her with my observations from past visits, and her unacceptable behavior, including this threat to remove my sons from the store. I kept a very level voice and temper, but I did refer to her attitude as "wise-###", at which point she ordered ME out of the store for "cursing" in "HER" store! I was flabbergasted that she could not have a discussion about my problems there as a customer, but she was red-faced and became threatening, pulling out her cell phone and telling me she was calling her supervisor, so I just left, leaving what would have been about $50 in purchases in a cart.
Ironically, I went across the street with my shopping list to our neighborhood grocery, and found every one of my items at a LOWER price than at Dollar General. Needless to say, that store has lost a family of customers, and I will not be shy about telling of my experience around the neighborhood. This woman is completely temperamentally unfit for her position, and should be immediately terminated if the company wants to save their customer base in this community.
By the way, in all modesty, I am a highly educated and licensed professional with my own businesses, so please do not assume that I am some loud-mouthed, low-class antagonist that enjoys telling people off. Much to the contrary: it takes something this serious for me to take time to officially complain!
service/employee
Store #01094
I walked in to see a couple of people standing in line. It didn't seem as if anyone was in the store to check these people out. I notice that there was an employee outside smoking. I told her that there was people in line waiting. She looked at me and said "There's someone in there." She then very slowly made her her back into the store while getting a few more drags of the cigerat. I had my kids with me so we had to hurry because they are asthmatic and she was smoking close enough to smell and see the smoke. I'm not sure if she waited on the customers or if the other employee reappeared to help. I've never had a bad experience at this store until today when this employee put my kids health at risk in smoking too close to the store an front door! I'm not sure if she was a manager or not. Her name tag wasn't visible to show her name.
condition of store
I live in Burkburnett, Texas. We have a Dollar General here in our small town. I like the products they have to offer. But I have a complaint about store conditions. It is the most unorganized store in our town. It is so messy and a disaster . It is awful. I can't find anything and there is never enough workers to even assist you to find product. It is always busy, we don't have many choices of stores to shop. I cannot believe that something can not be done to improve store conditions.
I am embarrassed that this store is in our town.
Please help and fix this store.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
same as above.

rude behavior and nasty attitude from the cashier.
12/28/2016 Dollar General Store #[protected] South Main Streeet Poplarville, MS [protected]
Let me start off by saying I love shopping at Dollar General and I shop at least four nights a week. I come to get snacks at night time. I try not to complain, but this has happen several times at this Poplarville store that I listed above. The cashier name is Tina, she has such a very bad attitude and very disrespectful when you ask for help of any kind. Tonight, customer and I was waiting to check out and the Lady was already looking for her when I made it to the counter. So she took a few minutes before she came, she spoke to the lady and rung her stuff up and the Lady put her card in and the cashier never ask her what kind of card or anything about her card, she gave the lady her receipt and she left. So she rings my stuff up but she did not speak to me, her attitude change real quick. So I put my chip in for my debit card, the cashier hollered real loud, "What kind of card is that, EBT", so I look at her and said no its a debit card. So when my receipt come out the machine she just stood there and wouldn't give me my receipt. I then ask her for it and she acted as if she couldn't hear me. This is about the tenth time she has did this, the other cashiers never ask what kind of card you have. She has a problem with Africian Americans and she assume that we all have ebt cards. I try not to complain about people because I know everybody need their job. But she is so rude that even other people talk about her and they don't like to go in when she's working. She need to be trained to treat people better. I like shopping at Dollar General because they the only store open, it's not far from my home, and I can just go get what I need right then. But I will not allow this cashier to talk to me any kind of way, so you will lose business if someone don't train her.
bad customer service
First off we have been loyal customers to the Emlenton store for the 5 years we've lived here. Today my wife accidently left her wallet in my car and went to pay with a check. they said they needed her drivers license number so she asks if a picture of her physical license would work the cashier said yes. So she calls me at work I had to leave my job go up to the vehicle and take a picture of her drivers license and sent it to her. The clerk then says we can't accept that it has to be here physically! I wasn't about to leave my job and drive home so they could accept a check. I have to accept virtual insurance cards at work for state inspection. Why couldn't the clerk enter in her drivers license number and continue on! She had juice and toys for our 20 month old son! He was screaming the whole 30min she had to call me and get the picture! This is uncalled for the manager that told her that was rude and has been rude to me other times as well! We will be taking our business to the IGA next door!
the cleanliness of the store
The store is so cluttered you can't even get a buggy through the aisles. You have to move storage crates out of your way to get to items that you want to buy and most of the time the workers are standing outside if front of the store smoking their cigarettes before the come in and wait in you. Then you have to stand there and smell there stink as they check ring you up. The west union, WV store is the absolute worst DG you will ever visit. Something needs to be done about that store and the way it is ran. They need to show some pride. The store number is 9972.
the restrooms
I went there tonight and had to use the restroom. They use their restroom as a storage for cleaning supplies too. Their restroom is filthy and very nasty. The floor is filthy, the toilet seat is broke and has been known to fall off, the cleaning supplies makes it cramped, they never have any soap, toilet paper or paper towels, the supplies they put in there are dirty, and it looks like it's never cleaned. I had to use paper towels as toilet paper because they had no toilet paper. I only use the bathroom for emergencies. It uses to be clean a few years ago but in the past few years, the bathroom has gotten dirtier and less clean. You can tell they don't pay much attention to their bathroom.

management at dollar general in hulbert oklahoma
Went to the store on 12-18-16 at 5:30 pm. There was 3 boys their, 1 was working the register, the other 2 was doing absolutely nothing, and there was about 10 people standing in line to check out. The store manager ( I believe her name is Echo) is absolutely not qualified to manage a store, plus she is very lazy and irresponsible . The store is very cluttered and messy. Your manager doesn't show up to open the store on time. if this was my store I would fire Echo and find me a manager that has some kind of work ethic and or some kind of management education.
shelves not stocked for months horrible to shop there!
The Dollar General Store located in Fowler, Indiana is the worst Dollar General Store I have ever seen! The shelves have been empty for months which is ridiculous! A person can't find one thing they need period! Expired products left on shelves, yet when a truck comes in those items are left in back. Most people in the area go to different store out of County because they know those Dollar General stores will be stocked. Amazing to think 3 registers but yet people can be lined up to back to try to get checked out because only one register works or I should say they will open only one. I don't even see the point why they have a store here in Fowler as it is of NO use and to think it was just built a few years ago. I don't know who the District Manager is or one of above but obviously he/ she don't know what their doing.
treated badly by manager
12/11/16 I went in the dollar general on Columbia Ave in Sheffield ala and had bought some gain dryer sheets and washing liquid well I had a coupon for the gain and done two different transaction 1st one went fine no problem. I did second one before I could pay the manager started hollering at me I was committing fraud, and was trying to take stuff out of my bag from 1st transaction not to mention the place was packed I have never been so humiliated in my life.
store manager
I am not sure of the man's name but he is the head store manager at dollar general in bad axe, michigan. Tall, skinny, blonde hair, and rude! I shop at dollar general several times a week and it has been several times that the store manager was very rude and even went to the extent of saying rude things and threatening me of not being aloud in the store. This is the store I shop at for my babies diapers because they are so cheap! I will go on to continue about the various occasions where he was very disrespectful and mean . He has made m cry several times leaving his store .
1) I was returning clothing I had bought the day before (not even24 hours before) *with reciept** one pair of pants had been missing a tag(he says) but i insisted I had put the tag in the bag he must have dropped it, he then said "dude i dont have your stupid tag, you can look yourself!" (Rude loud voice) ... I've always been nice to the store manager so I don't know why I always get such attitude...but I told him "I'm sorry but I made sure it was in the bag before i came in" ... so he said he would not return it. BEfore all of thIS when I had first walked in the store to return my bag of clothes he looked at me funny /annoyed.((Just as he always looks at me when I walk in)) might i add it just seems like the manager of the store does not like his job otherwise I believe he would be more accomadtaing to his customers. My friends have had problems with him as well.
2) just last week I went in dollar general like I do every week to get house hold items or diapers and while checking out at the cash register the i asked the store manager "How is your day?" Just trying to be friendly, he then replied "Don't worry about it, it's none of your business." (In a rude voice) ...I did not reply.
3) today on 12/10/2016 I visited dollar general to get my 18 month old her diapers.. .when I got to the register the store manager told me "I told you before not to park in front of the store, I get yelled at every time and it's not a parking spot. The next time you park there I will not allow you to shop here. "
I then said " you told me before I could park in front of The store just further down not by the door." I also said "your always rude to me and I am going to be complaining about you "
Store manager said "no I told you, you could not park there and don't come back to this store you are not allowed to shop here any more"
I said after as I walked out and stood outside
" you are not suppose to be so rude to your customers, you are an as*hole."
I apologize for my poor language I am just so sick of being treated rudely by this man.
Please do something about it! It is very apparent he does not like his job or value his customers. Which I believe every manager should love their job and serving their customers.
These are not the only times he has made me feel sad or disrespected ...I really hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you.
***If checked on the cameras I did not park by the doors at all I parked very far down at the end of the side walk . I only parked there and have parked there a couple times because I have a bad back and I just run in and out for diapers. ***
service
I went into dollar general and yes it was last minute but I still had 10 minutes before they were closing the guy that rang me up tonight did not look happy to be there did not say one word to me until I asked if I could grab one more thing to add to my purchase mind you it didn't even take me a minute to grab the one thing I came in for powdered sugar he told me I couldn't and got huffy with me rolling his eyes and said we are closed so i said to him it's not even 8 and the doors were unlocked still that's why I came in but he told me I couldn't grab another item to add to my purchase I've worked in retail my whole life and I know that I would never treat a customer that way even if it was a few minutes after closing he was just plain out rude and was even snotty before I asked to grab another item real quick so I just left so the cashier you had working tonight made it so I never want to shop in the bad axe dollar general again
rude and unprofessional sign
I was at the dollar general store in Greenbrier, TN when I saw a sign that was just rude an very unprofessional. I find attitudes like this uncalled for. It made me and my son feel as if they were accusing me and all customers of shoplifting. I mean this is the Christmas season. I know that there are shoplifters out there but they are on the only ones being hit by this but are the only ones that I have seen with such an unprofessional approach to it. My family will not be going back to this store.

Get over yourself you entitled ###. Do you know just how many people forget their things at a DG? You'd be surprised. I've seen cashiers run after a person who left things from their bags to phones, to keys, to their cards just laying on the pinpad counter because the customer can't be bothered to actually pay attention for their things and then have the nerve to blame the cashier for not babysitting them.
And no, they're not allowed to have items picked up at another store. I've tried and I was explained that it would mess up each store's inventory as then the store you forgot the items from would then have to process and send those forgotten items to the store you picked them up from.
Also a customer has no idea what car you came in. Or they were busy checking other people out in line or might have gotten called away to take care of something before noticing that you didn't pay attention to what you did and didn't get.
Stop blaming employees because you can't go to a store without being babysat by them.
