taught me that there will be no more american-built cars for me
I have owned a 1996 Chevy Blazer for 4 years. I bought it used from a Chevy dealer in Denver. The day I bought it I said the transmission was not right and they said it was normal.
Two years and about $1000 later, when my extended warranty was just about up, they said it was the transmission. It would barely run, it cut out, and sometimes die at an intersection. This is not an uncommon problem. GM refuses to admit that there is a problem and won't even try to help.
I just traded in a Ford Taurus. The engine light came on and it barely ran. I took it to the dealer who, some $250 later, told me it was a cracked vacuum line and bad gasoline. One week later the same thing happened. Back to the dealer, where some $150 later I was told it was a loose vacuum line. Thirty minutes later the same thing happened. A different mechanic told me the head gasket was leaking and letting anti freeze into the cylinders. Very common with the 3.0 liter Ford engine.
No more American built cars for me.
I realize cars break down, and you have to pay to fix them, but, by God, when I spend thousands of dollars on a car and on repairs I want it fixed. If it's a very common problem, like both of mine were, then own up to it and do something about it.
I've owned foreign cars before, they had problems, but when I took them in, they were fixed.
a back mechanical window that fell out of its glued-in frame
I took my car in a few months ago because the back mechanical window that flares out fell off the glued in side of the frame. When it got home I told my husband that it was a different window.
The dealership that sent it out to a window shop to be repaired says that it is not a new window tthis cost me $130. There were definite markings on the old window that are not in this new one and glass down beside the 3rd seat. It fell out again — along with the electrical wiring — so we took it back and they told us that they couldn't fix an aftermarket window and would need to sell us another one for $600.00.
They glued it back on again and sent it home. I have not opened it yet. Although yesterday we shut a door and the darn thing fell out again! So now I have a lovely duck-taped window.
I am not pleased with this ford product. I am sure missing that dodge conversion van now. I thought this expedition was going to be a long lasting vehicle. I'm seeing that it won't be.
Think i'll head on over to the gmc dealer next!
ford employee
My husband has been working for Ford Motor Company for 13 years and he worked at the Rawsonville Plant and was transfered to the dearborn plant not even doing his trade, he is on the line now. He was put on C-crew and that is Firday and Saturday days and Sunday and Monday nights which is till 4am. He just bumped to days and they are saying that he has to go by plant seniority and not company seniority. The company recognises his company seniority by not the union. They are making him go back to C-crew with the screwed up hours and every weekend. The guys that are going to bump him back only have 8 years, I dont think its fair at all, I think its a crock and the union is a joke.
false and misleading advertisement
Courtesy Ford had written across the windows of all their Ford trucks a rebate of $7, 500. After signing the paperwork, the salesman said that in order to qualify for the total rebates, we would need to finance the vehicle that we were prepared to pay for cash on hand. He said if we do that, then we would lose $1, 000 rebait for financing. He assured us that our first payment would not be until July and we could pay it off without penalty. What he didn't tell us is that we paid $6.25 per day in interest over that period and the rebait of $1, 000 that the company got was paid almost 1/3 rd by the interest payment over over $238. Indeed this is not only deceptive, but borders on outright fraud. It is a scam as far as I am concerned.
stole refundable deposit
Terrible experience with Dana Ford. Went there, made a deal on a car. Decided we wanted a fully-loaded car, they didn't have it in stock, nor did they know when they'd have it in stock. We asked for our deposit back (keep in mind this was memorial day weekend) and they said the "systems were down and to come back the next day." We came back and they REFUSED...

In Tennessee we were recently struck by tornadoes. To comp people for their losses ford sent out cards where you were supposed to call and they would extend your payments. This is a comment I wrote for something similar for an article for them doing the same thing for an Iowa tornado. This is how they treat their customers and I am currently outraged. Anyways, this is my comment as follows.
Yeah right... if it's like it was for us in Tennessee they say they are going to be offering a one or two month extension and they do it by sending a card out but they make you feel like ### when you call to take them up on the offer. They will tell you that your Zip Code is not in the effected area (mine is 37323, I live off Dalton Pike in South Eastern Bradley County). There were people that died within sight of my house and they say, "well your not in the affected area." When I said, "Oh really, well look on Youtube at the Tornado off Dalton Pk and tell me if that giant funnel cloud is classified as something other because it looks like a war Zone here." They go on to tell me they "DID NOT" send me a card saying they wouldn't extend my payment even though I was willing to overnight it to them or at the very least email them a picture.
Ford, I would rather you just tell me to suck it up, man up, go dig through the rubble and find what valuables (jewelry, guns, etc) you can. Then sell them for whatever you can to get the car payment because they only say things like this for the initial Public Relations "pat on the back." THEY DIDN'T REALLY THINK THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE EXTENSIONS TO TORNADO VICTIMS BECAUSE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN FORDS ZIP CODES ARE IN THEIR HEADS.
Yes they will finally give you a ONE MONTH extension after they treated you like garbage for twenty nine minutes by telling you you were not in the effected area, they didn't really send you a card saying they would, and then telling you oh I am not saying your lying. (YES, ###, THAT EXACTLY WHAT YOU DOING) but we had to call in Supervisor to do it because "YOU DON"T REALLY QUALIFY". Then WHY, OH WHY DID YOU SEND ME A CARD. THANK YOU FORD, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, I REALLY NEEDED YOU TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKE CRAP. YOU DID A GREAT JOB!
Well I have to admit Ford has come through again. A very kind Executive from the Ford Motor Company (Ford Credit) called me just a few moments ago apologizing for the way I was treated. They launched an inquiry into the matter after reading my comments on this and another social networking site and their finding was that I was in the Zone that got hit, they did send the offer card, their CSR handled the matter incorrectly and they were giving me the extension. He went on further to say "your incident has reached VERY HIGH levels of Ford and they were taking measures to give feedback to their people to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone in the future. HE further stated "if there is anyway we can help you or your family further or in the future or with anything concerning this matter please do not hesitate to call Customer Service or him personally. Let's all give FORD A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE!
It truly is this type of support that is the reason I drive a Ford today and have always driven a Ford. I guess my call was an isolated incident and they really are willing to go the extra mile to keep their customers happy, always be there for us when those "beyond our control" incidences happen, and apologize when they make a mistake. In the end I did get the extension they offered and that will GREATLY help me and my family. I got something else along with it, a more earnest respect for the car company and the people that finance those cars Ford Credit. To that Executive I say "Your call lifted me up from depths that you sent me to earlier in the day." "And so shines a good deed in a weary world."
It is my hope that others that get the same offer are not hesitant, due to my initial experience, to call and take Ford up on the Disaster relief they so generously offered. Again Thank you Ford!
At not one point did I ASK FOR AN EXTENSION before they sent it out. They offered it to me and my family first. Then when I call and try to get the offer THEY SENT THEY SAY NO. I was in the affected area and honestly was posting to vent more than anything. Tell me at what part I was greedy. My family threw out over $600 worth of food when we were out of power for over a week. There is nothing greedy about wanting to use something someone offers to help you.

I am now 21 days past due and Ford will NOT let me pay by phone or online. Ford has insisted my last 2 payments have been through the mail and that I have had 5 rejected payments so that is the REAL reason I cannot pay over the phone or online. The rejections are MY fault and they occured when I switched banks and my new bank would not approve the draft because I did not set it up with them initially. I was NOT aware that I had to set up a payment that was to be drafted from my account with the draftee and my bank that was being drafted. (seems like a lot of work for a simple payment even in our fraudulent times we live in today). LIKE I SAID MY FAULT!
BUT...since I have cleared up payment drafts with my bank and FORD MOTOR CREDIT...Ford will not let me use online or check payment by phone because I am 21 days late. I have made my last 2 payments online! But Ford Motor Credit insists that because of my previous 5 payment rejections that this is why they will not accept payment online or over the phone with me. SO WHY LET ME MAKE PAYMENTS ONLINE SINCE THOSE REJECTIONS? In a perfect world I would never have to be late but...why lie and insist that I have mailed my payments in in the past when I can clearly check my bank statement and see when my payments were drafted?!
bad service
As a small business entrepreneur and also a single woman that struggled to sustained myself and kids, i am completely devastated toward ford motor sa (As a big fish in the motor industry) thats causing major distress / major loss of income and above all bring my business and company's name down !!! Warranty on my pickup was coming due soon and started to have a squealing sound from a pulley and took it in to get fixed. While there I decided to have a couple of other things done that I paid for. When I brought it in the squealing noise was there. The next day a service rep called and tried to get me to have other work done and buy tires. The prices were outrageous so I said no thanks. She started to become I thought testy and just said to fix the problem I brought it in for. She said that the mechanic could not hear a squeal and can't fix it unless he did so and to come pick it up pronto. I did and paid for the two things and went out to wait for my vehicle and the mechanic drove it up to me and it was squealing badly. I told him about it and he said too bad and should have done it when he tried to hear it earlier and handed me my keys. I took it to a mechanic I knew and he opened the hood and said right away he saw it was the tensioner and it was obvious by looking. I paid him to fix it and now the problem is solved. I was leaving town and would not be back before the warranty was up.
This dealership did give me a good deal and liked the salesman when I bought it and can't complain about the sales but if anyone is going to use their service department then they are non existent on that point.

withholds my car after last payment
Ford Motor Credit company is withholding my car title on my Ford Taurus after I have made the last car payment due to what the company has deemed fees and late payment charges. I do not have any correspondence as of this reporting, from Ford Motor Credit that explained or stated I would be charged anything extra above and beyond the actual car payment due each month at any time during the payment period. The representative from the company that I contacted stated on the phone that the title has not been sent to me because I owe $209 in late charges and fees because I had been late 38 times in making payments. She did not qualify late nor the charges for being late. She said that if I agreed to pay now that the company would settle for half. I told her that I did not have any correspondence from Ford Motor Credit about this late payment/fee situation as it relates to my car title. She said she would send it out that day (Saturday May 23, 2009). This does not sound legal to me but I need third party confirmation about this. Can you help or point me to someone who can help resolve this?
paying for a service that was never rendered
Let me first introduce myself as Hershell Chambers proprietor of D & L T owing. I first encountered my problem in Orlando Florida, last year when my Ford f550 Lost power and was accelerating at only 50mph. My vehicle was towed into a ford dealership in Orlando where the diagnostic result was me needing fuel injectors at a cost of 3200.00. Six months later in Milwaukee Wisconsin the exact problem occured where i was losing power; drove to a ford dealership known as Heiser Ford on West Silverspring in milwaukee the diagnostic result was that the turbo needed to be replaced at a cost of 1900.00 and week or two later the vehicle was losing power again and started smoking the vehicle was then brought back to the same dealership only to find out the started was burned and that they could not diagnose any thing unless the started was replaced again another amount of approximated 500.00 was paid for the replacement of the starter. In the attempt to pickuing up the vehicle they said that debree may have gotten in the oilpan when replacing the injectors and we had to have the vehicle towed out of the shop due to lack of funds becuse now I was being told that I needed a new engine. The vehicle sat without repairs which cost me quite a bit with no revenue coming in. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau which allowed them to forward my complaint to Don Meier. I met with Mr Meier and he agreed to look into the oil pan to see what was in there but when I asked whether i could watch the process he said absolutely not. But agreed there was debree which caused the turbo to go bad. not only did they noy cover the warantee on the turbo we had just bought but now we needed a new turbo plus and engine a week or two ago the engine and turbo was replaced costing another 4100.00. Do the math add it all up see how has been taken by ford and the truck has been returned with the very problem of losing power. The ford people are very dishonest if someone were to ask me and i need a solution to this problem
poor care by ford
If you are offered a job at Ford Motor Company pass it up. Especially if you are going to be a line worker. My husband has been at Ford Motor Company for almost 10 years now. The summer of 2010, he spranged his wrist on the job because of the job he was doing on the line. He worked at the time C-Crew, which is Friday and Saturday Days and Sunday and Monday Nights. Because of the injury they moved him to B-Crew, Tuesday thru Friday 5:30pm-4:30am. Now accorrding to the union if you are injuried while working you get to go to Days A-Crew so you can claim you doctors appointments on your workmans comp during work hours. What doctors are open at 5:30pm at night. The workmens comp personnal are rude and very uncoopertive in helping and so is Ford. They claim he didnt hurt himself on the job and at first denied him his benefits. Then after a long struggle they finally paid him. He is still on B-crew crew thru all this and going to work with an injury. But he is suppose to go to days. Ann Dillenger in the workers comp office is mean and unhelpful. But according to FOrds she is not thier employee and continue to let her work there. She offers no help to the employees or understanding. But yet her office is in the Ford motor company location? HUH? Either way Ford will screw you over and watch you die working on the line. Like alot of their past employees who have had seizures on the line due to stress. Heartattacks! Strokes! When they move your dead body from the line the line continues to move because they replace you with another person with out even stopping to think about the family that just lost a loved one. What a company, NOT!.There are to many downfalls, no union back up, they dont care anymore, its all politics now. They have stopped caring about the people and worry too much about the money and their campaigning to be president of the union. If Henry Ford were alive today he would be appalled by the way things are run now. He should be appalled. It has become a piss poor company. My husband works there and I dont drive a ford car or truck and never will. Eventually Ford is going to kill him..over worked. Driving a ford car or truck will only do him more damage. I dont want to lose him. Buy a GM or Chysler.
My husband is a mechanic for Ford and he doesn't get paid for his work. The human resources department is a joke, they told him if he doesn't like, there's the door. They also kick you when you're down, he purchased a vehicle that was traded in, and they screwed us on the deal by $7000 dollars and a windshield. I will never buy Ford again and can't wait for my husband to get a job that actually pays him.
ford taurus headlights
2011 ford taurus headlights do not reach far enough in the dark to see any thing in the road like deer or anything curves in the road. You cant keep your brights on all the time with oncoming cars. We live where the roads are very dark at night with animals out roaming crossing the road all the time even cows get out of fences. The only thing you can look...

Ford Customer Relationship Center unable/unwilling to resolve issue. Had F150 towed to dealer on 3/10/11. Tech diagnosed faulty fuel pump module. Part ordered, should be in 3/11/11. Didn't come in, maybe 3/14/11. Didn't come in, in transit with unknown ETA. Didn't come in 3/15/11. Service manager at dealership couldn't offer any other information - vehicle out of warranty and no loaner vehicles available. Sent emails to Ford CRC - responses resulted in calls to service manager to relay the same information I already know. Called Ford CRC - gee, they called the service manager to give me the same info I already know. Asked to speak to supervisor - put on hold, left on hold for over 10 minutes, finally hung up. Sent emails to Ford CRC, Ford Corporate - all forwarded to CRC. Received call from supervisor who was less than helpful but fast talking and patronizing. Will document the issues - poor support to dealer for parts availability, customer frustrated. I asked for someone higher up to assist me - claims they have no way to contact corporate except thru snail mail. Obviously, they don't care to help or to retain a future customer - they'd rather keep us running in circles. Supervisor stated she can look into discount for future vehicle purchase - why would I want to buy a vehicle from a company that doesn't provide adequate support to their dealerships or care to help the customers?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
If you're still waiting for Ford to get the module, try an internet search for it. I just did and autopartswarehouse.com has some. You didn't say what year your F150 was, so check it out. I have found parts for my older Jeeps online when the dealer can't or wants triple the money.
Good Luck!

Being a diabetic and amputee and he had been on some high dosage of morphine and methadone for the pain . from what iwas told my my parents that my nephew had ask my father to co-sign for him. my father said nopehe ws in no condition to co-sign for anyone. At that present time mynephew had gotten his first job at safeway . Well my nephew caught my fatherone daypretty doage up on his medication andhebroughthisbrother in-law here to their home when his brothr was working as a car dealer for ford motor company here in san jose at the capital auto . well suppioely myfather co-sign which he never receivedany copiesof any car loan from my nephew or this dealer from ford. 4 months later my nephew goe sto prison. his mother took over trying to up keep the car payments. then october 2009 my father passes away. that same month we get a call from ford impoundment that the car was impounded well my mother explain how my father was deceased . That is when we found out that my father was a co-buyer to this vehicle. my mother made me power of attorney. at that time my father had no will. i spoke to someone named Ruth from ford impoundedment. she advice me to send copy of my father death certifiate anda brief letter of our concern of how my mother wanted my fathers named off car loan contract. well this car was bought in july 2008 there has been many defaults of nonpayment, late payments and so what ford is doing is sending letter tio the credit bureaus. mymother s trying to build hercreditand with allthese default of non payments, late payments . she won't be able to use my fathers name as a reference.ford credit manager tells me to tell my mother not to use my father as reference.Hell they where married 50years with good credit. Ford crdit co. needs to pick this car upsince my nephew is once again injail or prison and isn't working. I have spoken to him and he won't turn in car

they keep calling even after paymentsand agrement was made and told me they come after my truck if i didnt get it togahter!
How can he turn in the car if he's in prison? If your parents were married for 50 years, why does your mother need to build up her credit? ls she going to be buying a house or a car?
Pay your bill, not everyone can afford a new truck.
yes i agree
repossession
I stopped taking the calls from Ford Credit, because I was consistently forced to make agreements that where not possible. I made a payment on 02/02/2011 and another partial payment this past weekend. I am trying to get caught up. Life has been hard this year, but I was totally stunned to find my truck repo'ed tonight, right after I got home from emergent care dx'ed with pneumonia. Yes I can make the payments, work with me here. Now I am worried that I will not have the money to get my truck back. If times where hard before, how do they expect you to get back up. I am disappointed in FordCredit. I really am.

ford repossessed my vehicle on dec 11.2009, i know i was behind 55.00 october, november payment and december payment totaling $1049.00. I own a business and it has been slow. I have been sending them money everyday to try to get this paid, $40., $20., $10. what ever i can. When they came to get the truck i could not understand why. The gentlemen called ford for me i spoke with lisa. I was told they sent a writ of possession in sept to my p.o. box. (p.o. box Closed) I told her i did not get it, her answer was well it was not returned. I asked her why she was taking the truck and was told by her the payments i made were not exceptable and i needed to hand over the truck. I asked her if there was something we could work out and was told to call redemption. She was very rude and unwilling to help me. i called redemption and was told that i needed to pay $2100.00 in 10 days or they would sell the truck. I only ower $1049.00, they want me to pay for january, late fees and repossesion charge. I was having a hard time coming up with what i owed now i need double the amount. Ford Credit is hard to deal with they do not listen when you speak to them. when you are having problems paying and you try to deal with them to let them know what is going on they make you feel like a low life and pretty much force you into committing an amount you can't pay at the time. Don't get me wrong we need to pay our debts, but sometimes a little understanding and help can get us through the hard times
Everyone here is upset because they didn't make their payments on time bottom line pay your bills and stop being ###
would not stand behind factory warrenty on engine
My engine was replaced by jones ford at the app.cost of $80000. i didn't drive 100 miles before i had the egr vacuum line get burnt into. had to take it back. they would not replace it with the original line said it wasn't available, they lied i had already checked it cost 27. dollars. before the next 100 miles the check engine light came on. on inspection when i got home i found they had pulled the o2 sensor wiring out of the main harness and that the oil dipstick hadn't been bolted up or the air conditioner hadn't been plug back in, and the air cond. line hadn't been bolted back to the side of the engine. when i took it back they they told me it would cost me around a hundred dollars to have it fixed. that didn't go over good . before i had 4000 miles on the engine it went out again no compression on #3 cylinder. jones ford would look at it. woodie bilton ford replaced the engine ford would not stand behind the warranty cost me $5000. dollars more woody bilton found that a vacuum line burnt into going to the dump valve on the super charger had burnt into.
dealer will not give refund
I brought my '07 E-350 in for repairs on 12/20/10 and was told that I needed my EGR valve replaced, so I authorized the repair. I picked the van up and drove 10 miles down the road and had the same problems that I brought it in for (lack of power and rough idle), I was then told that I needed an EBP sensor and a Back Pressure Tube, so I once again authorized the repair, and once again I drove 10 miles down the road and still had the same problems. I had to be 400 miles away in Arkansas the next day, so the dealership told me to take it to a dealership in Arkansas and let them know the diagnoses. The dealership in Arkansas said that it would be at least 4 hrs. labor (at $99.00 an hr.) to diagnose the problem, so I took it to a mechanic friend of mine and he diagnosed it as a clogged converter, problem solved. Hillcrest Ford refuses to reimburse me the $1, 014.15 that it charged me for the misdiagnoses and Ford Customer Services (what a joke!) refuses to help.

recall not done by dealership and ford refuses to do it to correct the problem
Tried to resolve an issue concerning a recall that was supposed to have been done in 2007 by COLLIER FORD OF REO IN according to Fords records. The recall number is 06s45 (door latches freeze), been having recurring problems. Had vehicle inspected on Jan 21, 2011 by Champion Ford of Owensboro, Ky they had found that the recall has not been done at all. I even have documentation that it was inspected by Champion Ford. Ford refuses to open recall to have the correction made. They stated that it is now the owner's expense because they said it was done in 2007 already by Collier Ford. Collier Ford is currently out of business. No recall 06s45 was never performed at all on this vehicle 05 Ford Freestyle. I am wanting this recall done immediately without any expense to me. I just purchased the vehicle in April 2007 and no letter was sent to have a recall done on the vehicle. In fact the original recall was issued in Oct 2006.

Poor Ethics
I bought a car from this dealership. They accepted my offer and took a deposit. I got a call from the sales person the next day telling me I better get there quick and have the money or the manager was going to sell the car a had money down on to someone else willing to pay more. I had asked them to look into a potential issue with the alignment, and when I got there they told me I better take it as is or they would sell the car to the other guy.
In the end I walked away, I would not do business with a dealership like this. Superior Ford is the worst dealership in Minneapolis. I have bought a Ford from Bloomington since. I almost didn't buy a Ford because of Superior. I think Ford would be doing themselves a favor if they pulled there franchise. The General Manager is a dirtbag car salesman who gives all car sales people a bad name.
Do yourself a favor and buy from one of the good dealers in MN and stay clear of Superior. They will use ever dirty car sales trick to rip you off if possible. They tried with me.
