recall
Good morning,
I am an owner of a 2012 Ford Explorer, which I bought in May 2014. On 09.30.2018 as I was driving, my light came on stating I would need to service my power steering. I returned home and looked this up in my owners manual. When I went back out to go to work, the lights came on stating Service NOW.. I did locate there is a recall on this issue #14V286000. I took my car to dealership yesterday and they informed me I needed replace the entire steering rack the inner tie rod ends and get an alignment which would cost me approx. $2000.
He stated I exceeded the mileage on the recall. How can a recall not be granted due to mileage. I bought the car after the recall was issued.
I am completely frustrated with this.
2014 ford escape
Bought my wife a 2014 escape in feb. of 2018, it had 36400 miles very clean vehicle(SKCO Automotive Mobile, Al.). We had been driving it around town and to work and back only 3 miles from where we live, so in Aug. we drove it on a little trip bout hr. away on the way back it ran hot. A clip on one of the resevoir hoses was broken off so it was leaking water and wouldn't build up pressure. It didnt run hot till we drove it constantly for awhile which is 4 months later. I bought the part from a Ford Dealership and replaced it. One day my wife pulls up tells me car hot again i can here it spewing water from somewhere she said and there is no check engine lights on. I have it towed to Autonation Ford, days later they tell me its one of 3 things 1:blown head gasket, 2:cracked head, 3:blown engine and the powertrain warranty not gonna cover because aftermarket part.I told him if you cant tell me which of the 3 things is wrong how can you tell me its not covered. All 3 things he named are listed in Power train warranty. I cant pay for a 15000 dollar vehicle i cant drive and needs new engin. Ford nor skco will help it.

Hello,
It is with deep displeasure that I am writing to inform you of my situation. On Tuesday Sep 11, 2018, I took my vehicle (2017 Ford Edge 4X4 SEL VIN: 2FMPK4J99HBB77455 Mileage approximately 70, 000) to Phil's Ford for service and an oil change. Previously, my vehicle check engine light was activated and a diagnostic reading at my local auto parts store indicate a misfire on cylinder 4. An OEM Ford spark plug and coil was purchased and was taken to Phil's Ford at the time of service for installation.
While my vehicle was in the care of Phil's Ford Service Shop, I was told that the spark plug broke while attempting to change and that they (Phil's Ford Service Shop) are unable to remove the broken spark plug resulting in the need for a new engine head at the cost of 4, 000 dollars plus tax and labor charges.
As the owner of the vehicle, I do not think that I should be responsible for this cost, as this damage was done while my vehicle was in the care of Phil's Ford Service Shop. My vehicle is still at Phil's Ford Service Shop since September 11 2018 causing great hardship with my transportation needs.
Please note, I have been a loyal supporter of Ford Vehicles for many years and your record will indicate that I previously purchased multiple vehicles from your dealership. I have been very satisfied with my past vehicle's reliability and service. My 2010 ford edge currently has 390, 000 miles on the original engine and transmission (2010 FORD EDGE 4X4 LTD VIN: 2FMDK4KC6ABA20260) and my 2004 Ford expedition has 247, 000 miles on the original engine and transmission.
I am requesting your support in resolving this matter as I consider this to be a disservice to a loyal Ford customer.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Semple
frame rot
While rotating my tires I notice the main frame is rusting though, went on line found out it's a common problem on Ford F-150s seen FMC is not doing anything about it . I live in Michigan I'm going to get the word out and get a rally together parade around HQ in Dearborn down Michigan Ave and see who CEOs feel about that it probably won't do any good they only care about their pay checks and see who they take advantage of Warning stay clear of any Ford products
manager at dealership interaction
Coconut pointe ford Estero Florida. I live close to dealership and have been watching for a used cargo van and 4 door hatchback vehicle. On the radio they often have live radio remotes and on the ad to draw people in, the ad says...stop in at coconut pointe ford and see 106.3 fm...105.5 fm...107.1 fm.and get some free radio prizes and food.
So I will stop in. My pregnant wife is typically with me. So I will check out radio deal. Go into dealership and mk a small plate for her and then go to used lot.
I have never made a scene. Am polite. Am approachable and tell anyone what I'm looking for.
On saturday Sept 29 about 11:30 am...the manager...Bobbi Collins ran up to me and in front of at least 5 salespeople embarrassed me. He said food is for customers and employees. Not a drive thru.
I will be contacting the radio station that was there to get a sound clip of their remote that day.
I have worked for a fortune 500 company 25 years in customer service. His action was uncalled for and if he wanted to make a comment should have been in private.
I currently work at a large condo with 140 units. Also am a go-to guy for information to over 500 contacts in my phone alone.
I would like this embassment addressed.
This is by ft. Myers Florida. Ford's winter home.
Might make for an interesting story. Our local news shows situations like this. Ft. Myers is a huge snowbird market.
Thank you.

service complaint regarding the repair of a steering problem
Purchased a new 2015 Ford Explorer on 04/11/2015 from Crain Ford Dealer in Little Rock, AR. On Feb 17, 2016 took my car with a mileage read of 21409, into Crain Ford Dealer with complaint of crunching noise while turning the steering wheel. Service "Replaced front upper strut plates" under warranty.
Noise continued the same even after the service was performed, no worse for a while until we took back again Jan 8, 2018 with a mileage read of 62057, after noise became more frequent. Was told they couldn't replicate the noise but gave me an estimate of $480 to replace front strut plates (again?) even though they said they weren't sure that's what it was. We declined service due to uncertainty of repair and cost associated with it.
Noise continued more frequently and now became much more noticeable, until we took the car now with a mileage of 72822, back into Crain Ford Dealer on Sept. 28, 2018 when it was much worse, more frequent and now not only when turning during driving but also when car was stationary and wheel was being turned. Car was put on a diagnostic service and was told the steering gear needed to be replaced. The estimate given was $1600.00.
My complaint is the cost to repair something that should have been caught and repaired the first time back in Feb 2016 when the car was under warranty and could have been fixed at no cost. I feel the problem with the car was not diagnosed correctly at that time, and because so, I am now having to pay out $1600 which I feel I should not have to pay. I have paid the cost of the part which was a little over a thousand dollars and am waiting on the part to arrive so the service can be performed which is apparently another approx $600.00.
I know Ford has had problems in the past with steering in other Explorers in previous years and the year 2015 and I know in doing some research, complaints have been made about steering problems similar to mine. But the real issue is that it should have been diagnosed correctly the first time and fixed. I feel it is only fair to repair this problem at no cost to me as would have been done when the car was under warranty in Feb. 2016.
Automotive repair
I want to cancel my account. Your advertisement stated I could get five days for five dollars. I am cancelling my account. The repair tem was too complicated for my abilities and I will take my truck to mechanic or dealer mechanic, to fix. Do not want a monthly charge. I could not find a place to rescind my account beyond the 5 day period cancel my account!
village ford, dearborn michigan
My family has a genetic dementia disorder called Frontaltemporal Degeneration (FTD). Columbia University has been studying our family for over 30 years as part of a government study to attempt to find a cure. My mother and 3 of her siblings died from complications of the disease while they were in nursing homes. Three of my seven siblings have been cursed with this disease. My oldest sister, Kathleen Dreffs, is 69 years old and totaled her car in May of this year. She contacted Village Ford in Dearborn and they told her that they would have someone come and pick her up so that she could by another vehicle. My sister Mary found out and called the used car manager, Ryan McQuiston, and told him not to sell her a car because she was not capable of driving a vehicle. He said as long as she has a driver's license then he would have to sell her a car. Mary then asked if he could hold off for a day so that her son who has the power of attorney could be with Kathleen. Ryan McQuiston not only would not agree to this, but he sold her a 2015 Ford Fusion SE with 59k miles for $14, 900 plus we think he added some other fees. Since my sister didn't have a check book he called her bank and walked her through wiring the money to Village Ford. Once my sister Kathleen got the car she would take to places and forget where she parked it. My sister Mary got two doctors to write letters stating that Kathleen has FTD and should not be driving. We submitted the letters to the Michigan SOS and they requested that Kathleen come in for testing. She failed the test and had her license revoked, however she continued to drive her car so we confiscated it and have kept it in my sister Mary's garage. I went to Village Ford and asked that they buy the car back for a reasonable price but they are only willing to pay $11, 000 even though my sister has put less than 1, 000 miles on it. We are attempting to contact various television and new media to tell them how Village Ford took advantage of a person that doesn't even know the names of her children or siblings and is in the later stages of FTD. We would like Ford Motor company to intervene and contact Village Ford and have them purchase the car back at a reasonable price and stop this unethical practice. If Kathleen would have been killed or killed someone else we would have contacted an attorney because they were forewarned of her condition. Please contact me at [protected] or [protected]@yahoo.com. 2014 ford focus and knox ford service department
In less than two years of purchasing my 2014 Ford Focus, it has required a new clutch, new engine, gas valve and ignition coil. After having the motor rebuilt at Knox Ford in Radcliff, KY, I suspected further issues. I took the car back in on August 24th but the service manager, Jordan, simply cleared the check engine light and sent me on my way. When I called back insisting that it was running rough and still needed repairs, the service manager didn't believe me but at least gave me an appointment for two weeks later. Yet when I called to check up on the progress, Jordan was only going to replace a sensor but gave no effort to explain how this would be the cause of my concerns. When the sensor replacement didn't work, he finally admitted that it needed a new gas valve and ignition coil, a month after I suggested that could be the cause. He was still unwilling to explain the full issue. I suspect that had I not been a woman, he would've listened to me and been able to explain the diagnostic in detail.
I am extremely disappointed that it took a month to repair a simple fix, after the car had previously been in their shop for another two months. I am still not sure that the issues were resolved. After so many issues with this car already, I can't be sure that there won't be any more in the future.
To resolve this matter, I feel that I deserve another free inspection at a different service site to calm my worries. I also feel that I deserve a refund for the repairs of the gas valve and ignition coil that was not covered under my warranty in the amount of about $350. Furthermore, I deserve $270 to cover the three months that I was paying for car insurance on a car that I was unable to drive.
power steering unit in 2010 ford fusion.
2010 Ford Fusion, VIN 3FAHPOHAOAR396093.
67 year old female drive to doctors office and parked, no problem. When she returned to car she started it and attempted to back up. The steering wheel would not turn. She called for help and found the Power Steering Now message was showing.
With help, she had the vehicle returned to the house and a call was placed to the dealer in Owensboro, Ky. Without seeing the car a price was quoted in excess of $1900.00 for repair.
Since Ford had a large recall of the 2011 Ford Fusion power steering units, is there a recall that covers the 2010. I checked the NTSB records and found three complaints just this week about the unit going out.
Also have been told that the Electronic Control Unit may be reprogrammed to solve the problem.

maintenance plan vs service plan
I bought a ford ranger 2016 model, 11/2016, at purchase I was told that there is a maintenance plan of 120 000km or 4 years, and must be serviced every 15 000km. The sales person at amanzimtoti ford told me it is a full maintenance plan. When collecting the ranger I was told ford changed the service interval to 20 000km. 9/2018 I took it for its 60 000km service, I had no problem when the front driver seat needs replacement as it torn and cracked, leather. There was 2 points of consern, the roll bar showing spots of rust and tyre wear, when collecting the ranger I was informed that the battery needs replacement. I disagree and was laught at as I was informed that the battery only has a 12 month garentee, the roll bar is an add on and only have a garentee of 12 months. I disputed the fact and ask to speak to the dealer principal, he was not available and will only return after 10/2018. I was never informed by the sales person that the ranger roll bar is an add on as it was part of the ranger from the factory. The acting person agree that the roll bar can be polished so no rust spots show, not replacing. As for the battery I should have know that all batterys only carry a 12 month garentee without being informed by the sales person. The service manager at amanzimtoti ford told me in as many words and laughs that I must check and read my service book. I only recieve the new 20 000km service book after the first service. He futher inform me that it is not a maintenance plan but only a service plan that the ranger is bought with, when and what needs replacement according the agreement why did ford amanzimtoti then agree to replace the driver seat. On the brosure it mention a maintenance plan, even ford sa say maintenance plan and not service plan. I ask the service manager how the battery was tested and reported that it needs replacement as no problem starting, no problem electrical or any other mechanical problem beside the mentioned. The tyre problem was not looked at or discussed but was written on the service log. The reception person told me to replace the tyre. So as to my observation the ford ranger is fitted with wrong battery if it only last 21 months, the roll bar is factory fitted and should carry the same 5 year waranty against rust, the dealership shows signs of hiding problems with polish.

plastic windshield molding on 2015 ford explorer
wind shield molding on drivers side came off while driving on highway. it lodged between the mirror and door window. it marked the paint at the top of fender. it was also cracked at the top of the molding. Chapman FORD of Lancaster Pa quoted price of 386.00 to replace one side, passenger side is also loose. They also said this is a common problem. We paid nearly 30, 000.00 for this car in april. sold us an extended warranty 3 years 36, 000 miles. they say this is not covered under warranty. T his does not say look good for FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
2016 mustang
Good evening and thank you for your time.
My name is Peter Beck, I am a South Carolina resident and bought a brand new Mustang GT in 2016 after being so impressed with it after a test drive. I am still just as happy with the vehicle now as the day I bought it. I have done nothing to alter or "upgrade" my car and don't think it needs it. I love cars but don't know how to work on them whatsoever. With that being said I recently brought my vehicle to my local Ford dealership (Burns Ford in Lancaster SC 29720) for my oil change and was told I need new tires. I have only got my vehicle serviced at Ford dealerships and get my tires rotated every time I bring it for the oil change. The mechanic told me at the dealership that in my year and model Mustang a "factory default" has been found that some models "set" differently and need "camper clips". After putting my vehicle on the lift and seeing that the vehicles alignment was not the problem I was told that my vehicle had the factory default and Burns Ford put the camper clips in without charge.
My vehicle currently has roughly 21, 000 miles on it and I was told I need new tires badly due to a factory default. As we can all imagine new tires on a 2016 Mustang will probably run me about $800.00. I don't make much money as it is being a small town Deputy Sheriff and this isn't exactly chump change for me. I love my vehicle and up to this point Ford has been great to me. Being told by the Ford representative that they will not replace my tires has me upset to say the least.
I hope this finds you well and hopefully you can make this right for me. I received your email contact info from a fellow Ford and Mustang enthusiast.
Feel free to call me at [protected] anytime. I work night shift so after 12pm would be most desirable.
Thank you for your time

passenger seatbelt pretensioner/ airbag
I have a 2005 Ford Escape purchased new fro Sunrise Ford, Fontana, Ca. The vehicle has approximately 118, 000 miles on it & it has been serviced regularly from both Sunrise & Redlands Ford. The problem started 2 years ago. I got check engine light& airbag light, & an alarm that comes in whenever I have a passenger, which is usually my wife. I had it diagnosed, & the results were a faulty passenger pretensioner. The estimated repair is $585.00. I feel this is a safety issue, what if the airbags don't operate, or the pretentioner catches fire. I know Ford has ordered recall on over one million F-150 for this problem Ford has not issued any recalls for any other product. Everytime I take it for service, I ask the service to check for recalls, & there are none. I am retired & a loyal Ford customer. a new car would put a financial burden on us
2011 ford fusion power steering failure.
There was a recall on the 2011 fusions due to the power steering gear box failure. Well my power steering we out on my fusion. I get the run around from Ford that it was only certain vehicles that were made somewhere that the recall effected. Not all, well kind is one that wasn't recalled. They say because of my VIN number it was not made in one of the factories that made the car with the defective part. Well I don't care your parts supplier had a defective part. Your suppliers ship to all your ford plants. If your going to recall something, recall them all. It's a dangerous issue, your endangering peoples lives and you don't care. I think this should be Fords responsibility to fix this. Not the consumer to shell out $2000.00 to fix you problem. Maybe there needs to be a lawsuit so you will get your heads out of the sand or does someone have to die first? Or have they already. I feel this should not be my responsibility to fix, it should be Fords. Maybe it's time to bring more attention to the problem.
A unhappy customer.

I am going through the same thing right now with my 2013 Ford Explorer. I am having the exact same issue as the listed year recall. But because mine was built in a different month they will not cover it.
service
purchased 2018 ecosport in the end of may, went back june 5 to get something fixed .was told they had to order parts.3 months and3weeks still nothing, have called customer service 3 times, what a joke, ford does not have any customer service . either fix my brand new vehicle or give me my money back. was told parts on back order, how are you producing more cars if you have no parts

2011 focus ses
I have paid over $1000 to fix the steering in my 2011 Ford Focus SES. I still have no power steering. After searching for a recall online I see that I am not the only one who has this issue. Why has a recall not been issued? This is not safe and very costly to owners. It is not fair that this model has a malfunction from the start but the owner has to pay to fix it.
symbol of “spanner” at my dashboard screen which cant solved
Dear Sir,
For your info I bought a new Ford Ranger 2.2XLT 4WD from Malacca, Malaysia Branch Seong Hoe Motors sdn Bhd on dated 28.2.2018 as per owner certificate. After few months' time there is a symbol of "SPANNER" at my dashboard screen.
I went to Branch Seong Hoe Motors sdn Bhd your authorized dealer for FORD dealer for maintenance and services purposes and told them the problem and they also listen to my problem and taken some action by changing "6R80 Transmission Main Control" but still the problem has not been settled till today but other than there is no other problem in my ford ranger.
I had also sent my Ranger to FORD HQ Malaysia at Shah Alam there a week, while I'm away for holiday at India. They told me that might be due to "Spark Plug" matter and that change it but no problem can be settled.
I'm in a construction Industry and depend on my Ford Ranger to do my business travelling all around country. Every time the symbol show I need to stop the vehicle at highway to clear the symbol of "SPANNER" otherwise if not stop my ranger lack of power. It has "disturbed my mind and I'm so worried" about the vehicle that don't know where and when it will stop itself.
Dear Sir, please do something to settle this problem. You can check my regular service accordingly as per attachments and at detail information from their database report from Ford Malacca, Malaysia.
As I know my knowledge this is your "FORD manufacturing faults" not my fault as a customer. Now my mileage is 94, 000km already. My Ford Ranger Warranty Coverage is 100, 000KM or three years which ever come first. You can email me at [protected]@gmail.com or [protected]@yahoo.com. I can't wait further so please do something Dear sir. Thanks.
With Regards,
M.Paneer Selvam
